In order to explore the effect of Cr element content on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of Fe Cr Si ternary alloys, SEM, XRD and other instruments were used to investigate the microstructure, hardness and corrosion behavior of three different Cr content Fe Cr Si alloys. The effects of the different Cr content on the microstructure, hardness and corrosion resistance of Fe-Cr-Si alloys materials were analyzed systematically. Results showed that the three kinds of Fe-Cr-Si alloys with various Cr content were composed of dendrites and interdendritic substrate. With the increase of Cr content, the Fe3Si phase between dendrites increased, and Fe-Cr solid solution phase was formed. Compared to Fe8Cr10Si alloy, the hardness of Fe16Cr10Si alloy reduced by 16%. The results of the 10%(mass fraction) HCl solution immersion corrosion test indicated that Fe8Cr10Si alloy with low Cr content had the most severe corrosion with deep corrosion pits appearing, and the sheet-like silicides in the corrosion pits failed to effectively prevent the alloy from being corroded. In general, the increase of solid solution Cr content was the main reason for the improvement of corrosion resistance of Fe-Cr-Si alloy.

In order to study the effect of Si content on the high temperature wear resistance of Fe-Cr-Si alloy, and improve the wear resistance of Fe-Cr-Si alloy in high temperature environment, the four kinds of Fe-Cr-Si alloys with different Si contents (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%, atomic fraction) were manufactured by vacuum arc melting, and the effect of the variation of Si content on their high temperature wear resistance was investigated. Results showed that all of the four Fe-Cr-Si alloys consisted of single-phase organization. The increase of Si content gradually improved the hardness of the alloy and promoted the formation of metal silicide Fe3Si. Furthermore, with the increase of Si content, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the Fe-Cr-Si alloys gradually declined, and the wear mechanism changed from spalling wear to oxidation wear, abrasive wear and adhesive wear.

The seismically active Ka-Ping Block within Xinjiang, China, represents a zone of potential earthquake hazards, and existing surface measurements cannot fully reflect the area’s sub-surface slip rates. To determine these slip rates and characterize the level of hazard that the study area may face in future years, using a cross-correlation of waveforms, we identified 432 repeat sequences along large faults (F1–F5) in the Ka-Ping Block between September 2009 and April 2022 and computed the annual slip rate for every sequence with the empirical relationship of the moment and the seismic magnitude. Spatial distribution images and temporal evolution characteristics of deep deformation in fault zones were constructed. We obtained five asperities in the Ka-Ping Block, the western portion of the PiQiang fault (F4) had a larger yearly slide rate than its eastern portion, and the southwest and eastern areas of the KEP station show an elevated risk of seismic activity within the next two years.

The standard-of-care for patients with pathological complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-targeted therapy plus chemotherapy is continuation of HER2-targeted therapy in the adjuvant setting. Our objective was to evaluate risk of recurrence or death in these patients and determine if outcomes differed by the HER2-targeted regimen received in each setting. We analyzed patient-level data from five randomized trials evaluating trastuzumab, pertuzumab, or both as part of systemic neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy for HER2-positive early breast cancer, and assessed event-free survival (EFS) in 1763 patients. Patients with pCR had decreased risk of an EFS event versus those with residual disease (unadjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 0.35; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.27-0.46). Regardless of pCR status, after adjusting for baseline factors, reduction in EFS event risk was greater in patients administered pertuzumab/trastuzumab in both settings versus those administered only trastuzumab in both settings (HR = 0.36; 95% CI: 0.26-0.49), or pertuzumab/trastuzumab in the neoadjuvant setting and only trastuzumab in the adjuvant setting (HR = 0.67; 95% CI: 0.47-0.96). Patients with pCR had longer EFS than those with residual disease. Patients treated with pertuzumab/trastuzumab in both the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings had the lowest risk of breast cancer recurrence.

PurposeThe KRISTINE study compared neoadjuvant trastuzumab emtansine plus pertuzumab (T-DM1+P) with docetaxel, carboplatin, trastuzumab plus P (TCH+P) for the treatment human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive stage II to III breast cancer. T-DM1+P led to a lower pathologic complete response rate (44.4% v 55.7%; P = .016), but fewer grade 3 or greater and serious adverse events (AEs). Here, we present 3-year outcomes from KRISTINE.MethodsPatients were randomly assigned to neoadjuvant T-DM1+P or TCH+P every 3 weeks for six cycles. Patients who received T-DM1+P continued adjuvant T-DM1+P, and patients who received TCH+P received adjuvant trastuzumab plus pertuzumab. Secondary end points included event-free survival (EFS), overall survival, patient-reported outcomes (measured from random assignment), and invasive disease-free survival (IDFS; measured from surgery).ResultsOf patients, 444 were randomly assigned (T-DM1+P, n = 223; TCH+P, n = 221). Median follow-up was 37 months. Risk of an EFS event was higher with TDM-1+P (hazard ratio [HR], 2.61 [95% CI, 1.36 to 4.98]) with more locoregional progression events before surgery (15 [6.7%] v 0). Risk of an IDFS event after surgery was similar between arms (HR, 1.11 [95% CI, 0.52 to 2.40]). Pathologic complete response was associated with a reduced risk of an IDFS event (HR, 0.24 [95% CI, 0.09 to 0.60]) regardless of treatment arm. Overall, grade 3 or greater AEs (31.8% v 67.7%) were less common with T-DM1+P. During adjuvant treatment, grade 3 or greater AEs (24.5% v 9.9%) and AEs leading to treatment discontinuation (18.4% v 3.8%) were more common with T-DM1+P. Patient-reported outcomes favored T-DM1+P during neoadjuvant treatment and were similar to trastuzumab plus pertuzumab during adjuvant treatment.ConclusionCompared with TCH+P, T-DM1+P resulted in a higher risk of an EFS event owing to locoregional progression events before surgery, a similar risk of an IDFS event, fewer grade 3 or greater AEs during neoadjuvant treatment, and more AEs leading to treatment discontinuation during adjuvant treatment.

Liquid hydrogen storage is an important way of hydrogen storage and transportation, which greatly improves the storage and transportation efficiency due to the high energy density but at the same time brings new safety hazards. In this study, the liquid hydrogen leakage in the storage area of a hydrogen production station is numerically simulated. The effects of ambient wind direction, wind speed, leakage mass flow rate, and the mass fraction of gas phase at the leakage port on the diffusion behavior of the liquid hydrogen leakage were investigated. The results show that the ambient wind direction directly determines the direction of liquid hydrogen leakage diffusion. The wind speed significantly affects the diffusion distance. When the wind speed is 6 m/s, the diffusion distance of the flammable hydrogen cloud reaches 40.08 m, which is 2.63 times that under windless conditions. The liquid hydrogen leakage mass flow rate and the mass fraction of the gas phase have a greater effect on the volume of the flammable hydrogen cloud. As the leakage mass flow rate increased from 5.15 kg/s to 10 kg/s, the flammable hydrogen cloud volume increased from 5734.31 m3 to 10,305.5 m3. The installation of a barrier wall in front of the leakage port can limit the horizontal diffusion of the flammable hydrogen cloud, elevate the diffusion height, and effectively reduce the volume of the flammable hydrogen cloud. With the rapid development of hydrogen energy worldwide, the number of hydrogen energy facilities, such as hydrogen refueling stations, has grown rapidly in recent years. However, hydrogen is prone to leakage accidents during use, which could lead to hazards such as fires and explosions. Therefore, research on the safety of hydrogen energy facilities is crucial. In this paper, a study of high-pressure hydrogen jet flame accidents is conducted for a proposed integrated hydrogen production and refueling station in China. The effects of leakage direction and leakage port diameter on the jet flame characteristics are analyzed, and a risk assessment of the flame accident is conducted. The results showed that the death range perpendicular to the flame direction increased from 2.23 m to 5.5 m when the diameter of the leakage port increased from 4 mm to 10 mm. When the diameter of the leakage port is larger than 8 mm, the equipment on the scene will be within the boundaries of the damage. The consequences of fire can be effectively mitigated by a reasonable firewall setup to ensure the overall safety of the integrated station. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
