The changing demographics of the global population represent a significant challenge for humanity. Such changes have an impact on the functioning of the economy, including the housing market, and necessitate constant monitoring. This study evaluated the spatial diversity of all the large and medium-sized cities in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, situated in the north-west of Poland, in terms of three key factors: demographic potential, housing stock and their price levels. Furthermore, the interactions between the cities' positions in the rankings, which were created on the basis of the aforementioned phenomena, were identified. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the linear object ordering method, the Hellwig pattern method and Kendall's tau rank correlation coefficient were employed. The research was conducted using data from the years 2018 to 2022, sourced from the databases of the Polish Statistical Office and the Analysis and Monitoring System of the Real Estate Market. The study observed a relatively strong positive correlation between the positions of cities in the ranking created for demographic potential and the level of residential property prices for the year 2020. The correlation between the positions of cities in the rankings for demographic potential and housing real estate stock was found to be very weak. The case of Koszalin was identified as an optimal location for residence due to the existing residential property stock and its prices. This was corroborated by the city's residents, who also enabled the city to be ranked at the top of a ranking created for this phenomenon through the diagnostic variables for demographic potential. Renewable energy sources play a crucial role in sustainable development strategies, addressing environmental protection, energy security, economic growth, and enhancing quality of life. Renewable energy sources are significantly less damaging to the environment compared to traditional energy sources, as they help lower greenhouse gas emissions, decrease air and water pollution, and consequently, limit environmental degradation. The study helped formulate the following research goals: assessment of changes in the use of renewable energy sources and the degree of environmental degradation in the European Union countries, and comparison of the spatial differentiation of the EU countries in terms of the use of renewable energy sources and the degree of environmental degradation, taking into account both indicated criteria. The survey covers the years 2015, 2019, and 2021. The article highlights the important role of analytical methods in the analysis of renewable energy consumption and its impact on the environment. The Self-Organizing Map was used for grouping the European Union countries based on renewable energy sources' levels and environmental degradation, allowing the identification of patterns and clusters. The results showed that the Scandinavian countries are leading the way in renewable energy sources and low environmental degradation, while the Eastern European countries are struggling, with a low share of renewable energy sources and high degradation. Ovarian cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer death in women worldwide. Most often, it is detected in an advanced stage due to its insidious onset and lack of symptoms in stages I and II. That is why imaging diagnostics is so important. Therefore, we assessed the consistency of the image seen on CT with the actual image assessed during surgery. Objectives: The aim of this study is to compare preoperative evaluation based on CT reports with those obtained during ovarian cancer surgery to determine whether CT is helpful in assessing the possibility of optimal or complete cytoreduction. Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer who underwent diagnostic laparoscopy or laparotomy with cytoreduction. We compared ovarian cancer lesions described by radiologists on CT scans to those described during laparoscopy or laparotomy; the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for paired observations was used to compare the variables. Results: We observed that the morphology of the tumor, mesenteric infiltration, and the assessment of the involvement of the abdominal, para-aortic, and iliac lymph nodes may differ in CT examination and during surgery. Cities are considered one of the most important elements in achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and are specifically addressed by SDG11, which identifies actions to ensure safe, resilient and sustainable urban living for residents. Sustainable energy is of key importance to the challenges facing the modern world, hence cities should be designed and built to use as little energy as possible, which translates into the implementation of SDG7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). The sustainable goals are interrelated, so it is crucial to study their interaction. This study formulated the following research objectives: to assess changes in the degree of SDG achievement in EU countries and to investigate interactions between SDGs, in particular between SDG11 and SDG7. Using the TOPSIS method for the years 2015 and 2021, it was found that there are more frequent synergies between the SDGs and SDG11. The top rankings in terms of SDG11 implementation were Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Austria, while the last positions were held by Romania, Bulgaria and Poland. In 2021, the relationship between the positions of countries in terms of SDG11 and SDG7 implementation rates, compared to 2015, increased significantly, indicating that action is being taken to implement green energy solutions. Ovarian cancer is characterised by the greatest mortality among all tumors of the reproductive tract.

The aim of the article was to assess selected methods of linear ordering of objects and choosing the optimal method. The measures based on different properties of the synthetic variable were selected for evaluation. The selection of the optimal linear ordering procedure is the last step in creating a synthetic variable and is often not included in the research. The analysis was based on data from the EUROSTAT database (2017) countries. The level of socio-economic development in the context of sustainable development for 28 European Union was adopted as the ordering countries. The paper proposes a comparison of results in various methods, e.g. due to the way of normalization of diagnostic features or type of methods (based on a pattern object or a non-pattern object). Out of all the selection methods for this study, the TOPSIS methods based on zero unitarization proved to be the optimal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Against the backdrop of rural decline, many farms have to find more sustainable ways of surviving. For many of them, the way to stabilize and increase income is to diversify the farm. The decision to diversify depends largely on the characteristics of the farm and the farmers themselves. The purpose of this article is to determine the factors influencing the probability of diversification of agricultural holdings. Data were collected in the Central Pomerania region using a questionnaire survey. Identification of factors influencing the probability of diversification of farms was made using the logistic regression model. The analysis covers the diversification of production and the diversification of income sources. The conducted study shows that the decision to use diversification in farms depends on the demographic characteristics of farm owners and on their stocks. The likelihood of diversification of production increases with the number of fixed assets. It decreases, however, with the rising level of education. In turn, the likelihood of diversification of income sources increases with the reduction of the area of the farm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
