Objective (s): Obesity is a major public health problem worldwide. This review was carried out to assess obesity among Iranian primary school students. Methods: All cross-sectional studies that conducted on prevalence of obesity in adolescents in Iran without any restrictions was examined. The search engines included national and international databases including: Magiran, SID, Iranmedex, Scopus and PubMed in August 2015. Stata software version 12 was used for analysis of data and to obtain a summary measure. Results: In all 25 papers had the inclusion criteria for the study. Studies showed that the prevalence of obesity in Iranian primary school students was 7.18 percent (95% CI: 5.63-8.73). The prevalence of obesity was higher in boys than girls (8.02% vs. 6.07 %). Conclusion: This information might help to implement interventions to prevent obesity among Iranian primary school students. It seems that implementing interventions that aim to improve lifestyle and dietary patterns of this age group range are essential.

Background and Objectives: Obesity is a common nutritional disorder worldwide. Considering extensive studies with different results on the prevalence of obesity in adolescents in the country, the present meta-analysis study were performed to achieve an accurate and valid rate for planners. Methods: All cross-sectional studies conducted on the prevalence of obesity in adolescents were collected without any restrictions from national and international databases, including Scopus, Iranmedex, SID, Magiran, and PubMed in August 2015. Random effect model at 95% confidence level was used for data analysis and obtaining a brief measure. The heterogeneity between the results was determined using I2 statistical test. Results: In this investigation, 24 articles met the inclusion criteria to enter the study. According to the studies, the prevalence of obesity in Iranian adolescents has been reported 4.7% (CI= 95%: 1.4-5.8), and the prevalence of obesity was higher in boys than girls (5.56% compared to 4.32 %). Conclusion: According to changes in lifestyle and also spread of poor dietary patterns in modern societies, the need for planning and implementation of interventional programs is essential in this regard for these age range at family, school, and society levels.

Introduction: Motorcycling is one of the most important factors of causing injury and motorcyclists are assumed to be as a vulnerable group of road accidents. Evaluation of epidemiological characteristics of traffic accidents in motorcyclists provides valuable information to be used for determination of research priorities. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiology of country-level traffic accidents among motorcyclists in 2013. Methods: In this Cross-sectional study data was collected and studied from the national accidents record program in 2013. All traffic accidents, that injured people has received medical services in any private or public hospitals, were considered. Incident rate of accidents in motorcyclists was calculated per ten thousand. For the occurrence of accidents, GIS software package was used and data analysis was done by Ecxel 2010 and Stata 11. Results: In the present study, all injured motorcyclists included 168239 male and 23222 female. Number of traffic accidents in men was higher than women [87.9% and 12.1%, respectively] and the most affected people were in range of 20-24 years old group. Also, most of the traffic accidents has occurred on streets and alleys (84.12%). Conclusion: Most of the traffic accidents has occurred in young people and urban areas. To reduce the risky behaviors and therefore decrease in the rate of motorcyclists’ traffic accident, development of strict laws and improvement of the cultural awareness should be emphasized more strongly.
