On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur in North America, allowing scientists to study the sun's corona. The corona is still not well understood, and researchers hope to gain insights into its phenomena during the eclipse. Two new spacecraft, the Parker Solar Probe and the Solar Orbiter, have been launched to gather data from near and within the corona, advancing our understanding of solar physics. The sun's fast and slow winds are formed differently and contain different elements and numbers of electrons, which are related to the sun's complex magnetic fields. Recent research has found that crossed magnetic field lines can generate S-shaped waves, contributing to the slow solar wind. Understanding the sun's activity and its effects on the solar wind can help us understand other stars and planets in the universe. [Extracted from the article]
