We assess the impact of magnetic disorder on the spin excitation spectra of the chiral helimagnetic crystal $\mathrm{CrNb_3S_6}$ using microwave resonance spectroscopy. The chiral spin soliton lattice phase (CSL), which is a prototype of a noncollinear spin system that forms periodically over a macroscopic length scale, exhibited three resonance modes over a wide frequency range. We found that the predominance of these modes depended on the degree of magnetic disorder and that disorder can be suppressed by sweeping the external field via an ideal helical state at 0~T. The macroscopic coherence of the CSL can be clearly observed through its collective dynamic behavior. Bose-Fermion pair correlations in a mixture are considered at zero temperature in the T-matrix approximation. Special attention is paid to the Luttinger theorem. In a strict RPA variant of the Nozieres-Schmitt-Rink approach, it is shown that this theorem is respected also in the homogeneous infinite matter case. We calculate the corresponding occupation numbers of fermions and bosons and the condensate depletion. We also show that in the limit of very small boson density, our results are in good agreement with the results found in the literature for the Fermi polaron in strongly imbalanced Fermi-Fermi mixtures., Comment: 9 pages

The stability of an unpolarized two-component dipolar Fermi gas is studied within mean-field theory. Besides the known instability towards spontaneous magnetization with Fermi sphere deformation, another instability towards spontaneous formation of a spin-orbit coupled phase with a Rashba-like spin texture is found. A phase diagram is presented and consequences are briefly discussed.

Alpha-particle (quartet) condensation in homogeneous spin-isospin symmetric nuclear matter is investigated. The usual Thouless criterion for the critical temperature is extended to the quartet case. The in-medium four-body problem is strongly simplified by the use of a momentum projected mean field ansatz for the quartet. The self-consistent single particle wave functions are shown and discussed for various values of the density at the critical temperature.

A selfconsistent many body approach for the description of gases with quartets, trions, and pairs is presented. Applications to 3D Fermi systems at low density are discussed.

We investigate dynamical properties of a one-component Fermi gas with dipole-dipole interaction between particles. Using a variational function based on the Thomas-Fermi density distribution in phase space representation, the total energy is described by a function of deformation parameters in both real and momentum space. Various thermodynamic quantities of a uniform dipolar Fermi gas are derived, and then instability of this system is discussed. For a trapped dipolar Fermi gas, the collective oscillation frequencies are derived with the energy-weighted sum rule method. The frequencies for the monopole and quadrupole modes are calculated, and softening against collapse is shown as the dipolar strength approaches the critical value. Finally, we investigate the effects of the dipolar interaction on the expansion dynamics of the Fermi gas and show how the dipolar effects manifest in an expanded cloud., Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, submitted to New J. We study two-body correlations for $N$ identical bosons by use of the hyperspherical adiabatic expansion method. We use the zero-range interaction and derive a transcendental equation determining the key ingredient of the hyperradial potential. The necessary renormalization is for both repulsive and attractive interactions achieved with an effective range expansion of the two-body phase-shifts. Our solutions including correlations provide the properties of Bose-Einstein condensates exemplified by stability conditions as established by mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii calculations. The many-body Efimov states are unavoidable for large scattering lengths.

The effective potential is computed for two boson systems in one trap as a function of their two individual hyperadii and the distance between their centers. Zero-range interactions are used and only relative s-states are included. Existence and properties of minima are investigated as a function of these three collective coordinates. For sufficiently strong repulsion stable structures are found at a finite distance between the centers. The relative center of masses motion corresponds to the lowest normal mode. The highest normal mode is essentially the breathing mode where the subsystems vibrate by scaling their radii in phase. The intermediate normal mode corresponds to isovector motion where the subsystems vibrate by scaling their radii in opposite phase. The lowest adiabatic potential expressed in hyperspherical coordinates is estimated for two boson systems in an external harmonic trap. Corresponding conditions for stability are investigated and the related structures are extracted for zero-range interactions. Strong repulsion between non-identical particles leads to two new features, respectively when identical particles attract or repel each other. For repulsion new stable structures arise with displaced center of masses. For attraction the mean-field stability region is restricted due to motion of the center of masses.

Spin asymmetry of the ground states is studied for the trapped spin-degenerate (two-component) gases of the fermionic atoms with the repulsive interaction between different components, and, for large particle number, the asymmetric (collective ferromagnetic) states are shown to be stable because it can be energetically favorable to increase the fermi energy of one component rather than the increase of the interaction energy between up-down components. We formulate the Thomas-Fermi equations and show the algebraic methods to solve them. From the Thomas-Fermi solutions, we find three kinds of ground states in finite system: 1) paramagnetic (spin-symmetric), 2) ferromagnetic (equilibrium) and 3) ferromagnetic (nonequilibrium) states. We show the density profiles and the critical atom numbers for these states obtained analytically, and, in ferromagnetic states, the spin-asymmetries are shown to occur in the central regions of the trapped gas, and grows up with increasing particle number. Based on the obtained results, we discuss the experimental conditions and current difficulties to realize the ferromagnetic states of the trapped atom gas, which should be overcome., Comment: submit to PRA

We perform Random Phase Approximation (RPA) study of collective excitations in the bose-fermi mixed degenerate gas of Alkali-metal atoms at T=0. The calculation is done by diagonalization in a model space composed of particle-hole type excitations from the ground state, the latter being obtained from the coupled Gross-Pitaevskii and Thomas-Fermi equations. We investigate strength distributions for different combinations of bose and fermi multipole ($L$) operators with $L=0,1,2,3$. Transition densities and dynamical structure factors are calculated for collective excitations. Comparison with the sum rule prediction for the collective frequency is given.
