Abstract Background Patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) are mostly managed by general practitioners (GPs) and practicing dermatologists (PDs) in Denmark. In cases of severe and refractory AD, the primary physician can refer the patient to a specialised dermatology department. Objectives Aim of the study was to investigate treatment at the time of referral to a specialised dermatology department and the cause stated by the GP in a Danish cohort of AD patients referred to the Department of Dermatology, Aarhus University Hospital from 2019 to 2021. Methods One hundred and thirty cases were randomly selected via diagnosis codes for AD. Information regarding the cause for referral and treatment given at time of referral was obtained from medical records. 18 cases were excluded due to missing referral in the patients' medical records, other diagnosis than AD or treatment initiation before 2019. The final cohort consisted of 112 cases. Differences between patients referred from GP and PD were analysed with Fisher's exact test. Results Most cases were referred by PDs (45.5%) and GPs (24.1%). Abstract Background Atopic dermatitis (AD) and chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) are two prevalent, visible and itching skin diseases associated with decreased quality of life (QoL), sleep disturbance, depression and anxiety. However, little is known about stigmatisation among patients suffering from these diseases. Objectives To examine whether patients with AD or CSU experience stigmatisation and if disease severity or psychosocial variables associate with experienced stigmatisation. Methods A cross‐sectional survey was performed among adult AD and CSU patients from two highly specialised university hospitals and two private dermatology clinics. External stigmatisation was examined using the 6‐item Stigmatisation Scale (6SS). AD severity was assessed by dermatologists using the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) score. Patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) included: Patient‐Oriented Eczema Measure, Urticaria Activity Score over 7 days (UAS7), Urticaria Control Test, Dermatology Life Quality Index, 9‐item Patient Health Questionnaire, 7‐item Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia Severity Index and Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Questionnaire: General Health. Nonparametric statistics were used due to nonnormal distribution of data. Data were managed in REDCap and analysed with Stata for macOS. Results Mean EASI score was 7.6 (±10.7) and the mean UAS7 score was 15.6 (±12.0), for patients with AD and CSU, respectively. External stigmatisation was reported by 78.6% of AD patients and 57.3% of CSU patients. Capgras Syndrome is a subcategory of delusional disorder. People affected by this syndrome believe that a close associate such as a friend or family member has been replaced by an identical imposter. This case report describes a 23-year-old woman with no prior psychiatric history, whom developed Capgras syndrome, via folie a deux, in the setting of poly-substance use. In this patient, a combination of Aripiprazole 10 mg daily and Escitalopram 10 mg daily were effective in resolving symptoms. Clonazepam was utilized for anxiety and Omega-3 fatty acids 1 g for anti-oxidative effects. Further studies are needed to investigate the effects of a variety of causes and treatments for Capgras Syndrome.

An innovative six-port (SP) phase-noise measurement technique for millimeter-wave high-power sources is proposed in this paper. Simulation results using a 94-GHz rectangular waveguide SP circuit model validates the measurement principle for both millimeter-wave oscillators and amplifiers. Phase-noise measurement results of a 100-W extended interaction Klystron amplifier are presented and discussed. Compared to conventional methods, this new method allows accurate low-cost phase-noise measurements. Given the steady increase in the number of primary and revision total knee arthroplasties (TKAs) performed in the United States, we wanted to determine if an evidence-based TKA perioperative surgical home could close the perioperative morbidity gap between primary and revision TKAs. We conducted a prospective cross-sectional cohort study comparing outcomes of patients who had primary TKA (n = 235) with outcomes of patients who had revision TKA (n = 50). We measured several perioperative outcomes: length of stay, discharge disposition, 30-day readmission rate, and 30-day reoperation rate. Mean length of stay was 2.55 days for primary TKA and 2.92 days for revision TKA (P = .061). Eighty (34%) of the 235 primary TKA patients and 21 (41%) of the 51 revision TKA patients were discharged to a subacute nursing facility (P = .123). One primary TKA patient (0.4%) and 2 revision TKA patients (4%) were readmitted within 30 days after surgery (P = .081). None of the primary TKAs and 2 (4%) of the revision TKAs underwent reoperation (P = .993). There was no difference in perioperative outcomes between the primary and revision TKA groups in our Total Joint Replacement Perioperative Surgical Home (TJR-PSH) cohort. Advances in multidisciplinary co-management of TKA patients are highlighted in the TJR-PSH. The similarity in primary and revision TKA outcomes has significant implications regarding costs and potential increased patient satisfaction.
