Objectives: To describe morbimortality trend due to labor accidents in the civil construction sector, in the state of Paraiba, 2009 OBJECTIVES: To analyze the profile of prescriptions for special contrai, filled by a pharmacy in a Basic Health Unit in the Federal District, also characterizing the users who use these medications. METHODS: This is an analytical observational cross-sectional study, carried out during the months of February and March 2021 in a UBS in the DF. For two months, special contrai prescriptions filled in the unit's pharmacy were analyzed and various data were collected. RESULTS: Most prescriptions originate in public health services, the most commonly provided medication was Fluoxetine, and the vast majority of users were women, aged between 30 and 50 years. CONCLUSION: lt is important that the multidisciplinary team is trained through continuing education, to carry out a correct orientation to the patient. And for greater depth of the issues raised, it is still necessary to analyze more sociodemographic data of users

We conducted this study to estimate the prevalence of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) usage among allergic rhinitis (AR) patients in Malaysia and understand the practice of CAM usage among them. We also included a literature review on the commonly used CAM for AR. A cross-sectional study which included a questionnaire-based study and information of allergic rhinitis from patient’s clinic records. Patients with AR who attended the ORL-HNS department in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia and Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Malaysia were enrolled after consented, on a first-come first-serve basis as convenience sampling from July 2020 until February 2021. A pre-tested self-administered, 16-item questionnaire in Malay language was distributed to the participants. The questionnaire consists of a set of 16 questions with subsets to enquire about the sociodemographic data and pattern of usage of CAM and its effectiveness. 372 patients were enrolled in this study consisting of 217 (58.3%) female and 155 (41.7%) male patients. 231 (62.1%) participants had used CAM for AR in the past 10 years. A higher proportion of females (p = 0.015) and those with higher income (p = 0.004) had used CAM. Among the users, 87.9% found CAM to be effective. No differences were found in terms of age (p = 0.888) and education level (p = 0.057) for CAM usage. CAM is widely used in Malaysia to alleviate AR symptoms, with a large proportion of users think it is effective. Therefore, more researches should be conducted to provide evidence and guidance to integrate CAM into AR management.

Las enteroparasitosis representan un importante problema de salud pública en países desarrollados y en vías de desarrollo, siendo más frecuentes en niños. El objetivo del trabajo fue describir las características sociodemográficas de niños con diagnóstico de enteroparasitosis que consultaron en el sector de pediatría del Hospital Distrital de Presidente Franco en el año 2019. Consistió en un estudio observacional, descriptivo de corte transversal. Se estudiaron 409 fichas clínicas de niños con edad de ≤15 años con diagnóstico de enteroparasitosis que consultaron en el sector de pediatría del Hospital Distrital de Presidente Franco en el período de enero a diciembre del año 2019. Se analizaron datos sociodemográficos (edad, sexo, procedencia) utilizándose estadística descriptiva. El 84,1% de los casos de enteroparasitosis fue en niños de 2 a 9 años, el 56% correspondió al sexo femenino, y en cuanto a la procedencia el 50,6% pertenecía a los barrios de San Sebastián, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, San Rafael, Santa Inés y San Roque de la ciudad de Presidente Franco. En conclusión, se encontró un importante número de enteroparasitosis entre los niños que consultaron en el Hospital Distrital de Presidente Franco, entre éstos la mayoría pertenecía al grupo de 2 a 9 años de edad, franja etaria que se caracteriza por la necesidad de supervisión con relación a las prácticas de higiene.

Maternal group B Streptococcus (GBS) colonization is a major risk factor for neonatal GBS infection. However, data on GBS are scarce in low- and middle-income countries. Using sociodemographic data and vaginal swabs collected from an international cohort of mothers and newborns, this study aimed to estimate the prevalence of GBS colonization among pregnant women in Madagascar (n = 1,603) and Senegal (n = 616). The prevalence was 5.0% (95% CI, 3.9–6.1) and 16.1% (95% CI, 13.1–19.0) in Madagascar and Senegal, respectively. No factors among sociodemographic characteristics, living conditions, and obstetric history were found to be associated independently with GBS colonization in both countries. This community-based study provides one of the first estimates of maternal GBS colonization among pregnant women from Madagascar and Senegal.

Objective The purpose of our study was to investigated the anti-Yo, anti-Hu, anti-Ri, anti-amphiphysin antibody levels and 8-OHdG in mothers of children with autism. Methods This study included 60 participants, 33 of whom were healthy mothers of 3-12-year-old children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the 27 others who constituted the control group, were healthy mothers with age-matched healthy children. Two groups were examined for plasma anti-Yo, anti-Hu, anti-amphiphysin and anti-Ri antibodies and, 8-OHdG levels. The participants were asked to accomplish a sociodemographic data form. The severity of ASD symptoms was evaluated according to the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS). Results Anti-amphiphysin antibody levels and anti-Ri antibody positivity were significantly higher in the case group (p = 0.001; p = 0.027, respectively). The two groups did not significantly differ in terms of anti-Yo and anti-Hu antibody levels and in terms of 8-OHdG levels (p = 0.065; p = 0.099; p = 0.490, respectively). The two groups did not significantly differ in terms of sociodemographic data (p > 0.05). Conclusions According to the our study, maternal antineuronal antibodies, such as anti-amphiphysin and anti-Ri, may contribute to the risk of childhood autism. La población envejece rápidamente y Talca no escapa a este fenómeno demográfico. El envejecimiento conlleva un deterioro progresivo de todos los sistemas como cardiovascular, osteo-articular, muscular y nervioso. El objetivo de este trabajo es relacionar la depresión con la actividad física y otras variables sociodemográficas. Este estudio es de tipo correlacional y de corte transversal. Se reclutaron adultos mayores de 65 años y más, autovalentes del sector urbano de la ciudad de Talca. Se realizaron entrevistas cara a cara para obetner datos sociodemográficos y aplicar los cuestionarios GDS para depresión y el IPAQ para actividad física. Se utilizó el paquete estadístico SPSS versión 25.0. La muestra la conforman 100 AM (N=100), con una media de edad de 73,2 años. Se encontró una prevalencia de depresión de 21% (N=21), tanto en hombres como en mujeres, que se relaciona con la actividad física (r=-0,229 y p=0,004), y el nivel educacional (p=0,035). Nuestros resultados son coincidentes con estudios previos. Se concluye que una actividad física vigorosa se relaciona con bajos niveles de depresión y viceversa, así también, adultos mayores con bajo nivel educacional tienden a presentar más depresión que aquellos con nivel educacional más alto.

This study explored the association between family cohesion and self-perceived need for dental treatment among adolescents. A school-based representative cross-sectional study was conducted with 746 students aged 15 to 19 randomly selected from schools in Campina Grande, Brazil. Parents/guardians provided information on sociodemographic data, and students completed questionnaires about the self-perceived need for dental treatment, dental pain, and family cohesion and adaptability (FACES III). Two dentists were trained (kappa >0.80) to diagnosis dental caries using the Nyvad criteria and assess adolescents’ level of functional oral health literacy (BREALD-30). Descriptive analysis was performed, followed by nonadjusted and adjusted robust binary logistic regression for complex samples ( α = 5 % ). The prevalence of self-perceived need for dental treatment was 88.6%. The presence of dental caries ( OR = 2.10 ; IC 95%: 1.22–3.61), tooth loss ( OR = 15.81 ; IC 95%: 2.14–116.56), dental pain in the last six months ( OR = 1.87 ; IC 95%: 1.06–3.31), and enmeshed family cohesion type ( OR = 10.23 ; IC 95%: 3.96–26.4) remained associated with the self-perceived need for dental treatment in the final model. In conclusion, dental caries, dental pain, tooth loss, and family cohesion influenced the self-perceived need for dental treatment in adolescents.

The combination of types of medications can compromise the regulation of body balance in older adults. This study evaluated the effect of continuous use drugs on the sensory regulation of static balance in elderly women who regularly practice the Pilates method with and without a history of falls and estimate the risk of falls in this population. Cross-sectional study, carried out with 94 women (67.12±4.74 years) practicing Pilates, divided into: non-fallers (n = 74) and fallers (n = 18). Sociodemographic data, comorbidities, medications, and Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Falls Efficacy Scale (FES), Confidence in Balance Scale (ABC) were applied. The examination of static balance was performed by the Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction and Balance (CTSIB). The risk of falling was analyzed using an adjusted multiple logistic regression model, while the effect of drugs on falls was estimated by binary regression, results were presented using the odds ratio (OR). The CTSIB test revealed Condition 4 (OR = 3.038; 95% CI = 1.321–15.674) and Condition 5 (OR = 5.542; 95% CI = 1.678–18.303) as predictors of falls. Drugs showing an effect on fall were β2 agonist associated with glucocorticoid (OR = 0.245; 95% CI = 1,233–2,400), thiazide diuretic (OR = 0.344; 95% CI = 1.122–2.234), statin (OR = 0.245; 95 % CI = 1,237–2,338), angiotensin II receptor antagonist (OR = 0,245; 95% CI = 1,236–2,339), beta blocker (OR = 0,245; 95% CI = 1,238–2,402) and anti-vertigo (OR = 0,245; 95 % CI = 1.230–2.399). Regardless of the history of falls, the risk of falling was present in older adult regular Pilates practitioners. Este estudo avaliou o efeito de fármacos de uso contínuo sobre a regulação sensorial do equilíbrio estático de mulheres idosas praticantes regulares do método Pilates com e sem histórico de queda e estimar o risco de queda dessa população. Estudo transversal, realizado com 94 mulheres (67,12±4,74 anos) praticantes de Pilates, divididas em: não-caidoras (n=74) e caidoras (n=18). Foram coletados dados sociodemográfico, comorbidades, medicamentos, e aplicado Mini Exame do Estado Mental (MEEM), Falls Efficacy Scale (FES), Escala de Confiança no Equilíbrio (ABC). O exame do equilíbrio estático foi realizado pelo Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction and Balance (CTSIB). O risco de queda foi analisado pelo modelo de regressão logística múltipla ajustado, enquanto, que o efeito dos fármacos sobre queda foi estimado pela regressão binária, resultados foram apresentados pelo odds ratio (OR). O teste CTSIB revelou a Condição 4 (OR= 3,038; 95% IC= 1,321–15,674) e Condição 5 (OR= 5,542; 95% IC= 1,678–18,303) como previsora de quedas. Studies on sociodemographic data and crystallized intelligence have often struggled to recruit enough participants to achieve sufficient validity. However, the advent of the internet now allows this problem to be solved through the creation of megastudies. Yet, this methodology so far has only been used in studies on vocabulary size, while general knowledge, another key component of crystallized intelligence, remains unexamined. In the present study, regression models were used to examine the impact of sociodemographic variables—gender, age, years of study and socioeconomic status—on general knowledge scores. The sample comprised 48,234 participants, each of whom answered 60 general knowledge questions, their data being fully available online. Men were found to score higher than women in general knowledge. Years of study and socioeconomic status acted as strong and weak positive predictors, respectively. Age acted as a strong positive predictor until the age of 50, where it became progressively detrimental. These results are discussed relative to other studies on crystallized intelligence, highlighting the need to study each of its components individually.

MINI Telemedicine in spine care is evolving; patient valuation of virtual care is critical to its utility and longevity. Our mixed methods investigation revealed that patients prefer in person care, particularly for first time visits. However, patients also envision the effective integration of telemedicine and in person care. STUDY DESIGN Survey-based study. OBJECTIVE We performed a mixed methods study involving patients using telemedicine for spine care. We sought to understand factors influencing the utilization and evaluation of this modality. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA Telemedicine has been integrated into routine spine care; its long-term viability will depend not only on optimizing its safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, but also on understanding patient valuation of its benefits and limitations. METHODS We used a clinical registry to identify spine patients seen virtually by providers at our tertiary academic medical center between March and September of 2020. We distributed an online survey that queried patients' experiences with telemedicine. We performed statistical analyses of Likert-scale questions and a thematic analysis of free-form responses. Sociodemographic data were abstracted and analyzed. RESULTS Overall, we evaluated 139 patient surveys. High levels of patient-rated care and patient-rated experience were observed for both in-person and telemedicine visits; however, in-person visits were rated significantly higher in both respects (9.3/10 vs. 8.7/10 for patient-rated care, p

espanolObjetivo: Describir las caracteristicas epidemiologicas, anticoncepcion y bienestar psicologico en una serie de mujeres a dos anos de post aborto terapeutico. Materiales y metodos: Estudio observacional, descriptivo de una serie de casos. Participaron las mujeres cuyo procedimiento de aborto terapeutico fue realizado en el Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal del Peru el ano 2018 y que al momento de la entrevista hayan transcurrido dos anos, previo consentimiento informado. Se recogieron datos sociodemograficos, perfil obstetrico, metodo de planificacion familiar antes del aborto terapeutico y actual. Se aplico la Escala BIEPS para medir el bienestar psicologico de las participantes a dos anos post aborto terapeutico. Se efectuo analisis descriptivo y se salvaguardo la identidad de las participantes. Resultados: Se estudiaron 12 mujeres a dos anos de presentar aborto terapeutico. Al momento del aborto terapeutico tenian una edad entre 21 y 38 anos, la edad gestacional se encontraba entre 14 y 22 semanas, de los 12 casos cinco mujeres no usaban metodos de anticoncepcion. Todos los casos presentaban patologia fetal, siendo mas frecuente Hidrops fetal e higroma quistico. Todas las mujeres tenian alteracion en su salud mental. El procedimiento de aborto mas frecuente empleado fue el uso de misoprostol y legrado uterino, en 11 casos. Posterior al aborto terapeutico 7 de 12 no usaron algun metodo, 5 mujeres presentaron un grado de bienestar psicologico elevado y 7 un nivel alto. En los dominios evaluados de bienestar psicologico los puntajes mas altos fueron en proposito en la vida (11 casos de 12), seguido de auto aceptacion (10 casos de 12) y crecimiento personal (3 casos de 12). Mientras que, los dominios con una puntuacion media fueron relaciones positivas, autonomia y dominio del entorno. Conclusiones: Estos hallazgos sugieren que las mujeres con una gestacion con un feto con malformaciones congenitas incompatibles con la vida presentaban una alteracion en su salud mental. En estas condiciones, las mujeres presentaron una interrumpen terapeutica de su embarazo; y posteriormente a dos anos presentaron un bienestar psicologico adecuado. EnglishObjective: To describe the epidemiological characteristics, contraception and psychological well-being in a series of women two years after therapeutic abortion. Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive study of a series of cases. The women whose therapeutic abortion procedure was performed at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute of Peru in 2018 participated and who at the time of the interview had passed two years, with prior informed consent. Sociodemographic data, obstetric profile, family planning method before therapeutic abortion and current were collected. The BIEPS Scale was applied to measure the psychological well-being of the participants two years after therapeutic abortion. Descriptive analysis was carried out and the identity of the participants was safeguarded. Results: 12 women were studied two years after presenting therapeutic abortion. At the time of the therapeutic abortion, they were between 21 and 38 years old, the gestational age was between 14 and 22 weeks, of the 12 cases, five women did not use contraception. All cases presented fetal pathology, being more frequent hydrops fetalis and cystic hygroma. All the women had altered mental health. The most frequent abortion procedure used was the use of misoprostol and uterine curettage, in 11 cases. After the therapeutic abortion, 7 out of 12 did not use any method, 5 women had a high degree of psychological well-being and 7 a high level. In the evaluated domains of psychological well-being, the highest scores were in purpose in life (11 cases out of 12), followed by self-acceptance (10 cases out of 12) and personal growth (3 cases out of 12). While, the domains with a mean score were positive relationships, autonomy and domain of the environment. Conclusions: These findings suggest that women with a pregnancy with a fetus with congenital malformations incompatible with life presented an alteration in their mental health. Under these conditions, the women presented a therapeutic interruption of their pregnancy; and after two years they presented adequate psychological well-being.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the practice of self-medication in the elderly assisted in Primary Care. METHOD: Cross-sectional, descriptive and exploratory study carried out with elderly people enrolled in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) Mutirao in the municipality of Cocal, Piaui, Brazil. Elderly people with physical and functional autonomy were included. The data were collected through the application of a questionnaire containing sociodemographic data and data related to the practice of self-medication. The analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. RESULTS: A total of 35 elderly were included in the sample, with a mean age of 70 (± 6.6) years and a predominance of females (65.7%). It was found that 80% of participants reported using medications on a regular basis, 62.8% did not receive information about the dangers of self-medication, 68.6% took medication without a prescription and 48.6% used medication indicated by a neighbor / friend / relative. Pain followed by the flu / cold were the most common reasons for self-medication. Pharmaceutical counseling (74.3%) and having solved the health problem before the medical consultation (68.6%) are among the causes that favored this practice. CONCLUSION: The data suggest that self-medication among the elderly is common, especially in pain and colds, and that the difficulty of access to medical consultation, pharmaceutical guidance and ignorance of the dangers predispose to this practice.

Sensitive skin syndrome has a neuropathic origin, which is why it is frequently associated with irritable bowel syndrome. We have looked for a possible association with chronic cough, which is commonly maintained by neurogenic mechanisms, whatever the initial cause(s). A survey was carried out on a representative sample of the population over 15 years of age using the quota method. The questionnaire included sociodemographic data and questions about sensitive skin, the presence of chronic cough, smoking and possible causes of chronic cough. Chronic cough was assessed by the Leicester Cough Questionnaire, and 4050 subjects responded (mean age: 45 years). To ensure that the process of giftedness development runs smoothly, it is necessary to build adequate socio-emotional competencies related to the ability to use various social and emotional stimulation from the environment to achieve results that enable satisfactory and competent participation in groups, communities, and society to which individual belongs. The goal of this research was to examine whether and to what extent are socio-emotional competencies of parents and Kindergarten teachers are significant predictors of the perception of talents of preschool children. The sample consisted out of 100 participants from Zeničko-Dobojski kanton, 75 parents, and 25 educators. As instruments, we used: Questionnaire of general sociodemographic data (SD questionnaire), Giftedness Questionnaire (Von Krafft and Semke, 2008), and questionnaire of socioemotional competencies of educators (Jusufovic, unpublished paper). The results indicate that among all socio-emotional competencies of parents the only that is significant predictor is awareness of others for assessing the expression of one’s characteristics, for assessing the expression of talent and out of socio-demographic variables, the variable of age parents is significant, but only for assessing the expression of talents (older parents perceive less giftedness). Furthermore, in the case of educators, pure non-violent communication is important for socio-emotional competencies for the expression of one’s characteristics, then for the expression of talents significant factors are non-violent communication, awareness of others, emotion regulation, self-esteem, and the total score of socio-emotional competencies. Among socio-demographic characteristics, the important predictor is working experience for perceiving talents. In addition to this, there are statistically significant differences between parents and educators, in an expression of talent, and the results show that educators are better in the estimation of expression of talents.

espanolEl objetivo del presente articulo es analizar la asociacion de los errores de refraccion en ninos de 4 a 10 anos con los factores que se relacionan con ellos. Este consistio en un estudio descriptivo transversal con abordaje cuantitativo, realizado en dos sedes de una institucion educativa, con muestreo probabilistico y participacion de 233 ninos en 2018. El error de refraccion (ER) se diagnostico bajo cicloplejia. Para identificar el estado nutricional se hizo la medicion e interpretacion del peso y la talla. Los datos sociodemograficos se obtuvieron por medio de una encuesta, y los estilos de vida saludable se midieron mediante un cuestionario sobre riesgos de la salud en ninos y adolescentes. La prevalencia de hipermetropia, astigmatismo y miopia en ninos fue de 37 %, 21 % y 2,2 %, respectivamente. No se demostro asociacion de los ER con el sexo de la poblacion ni con las condiciones socioeconomicas de los padres. Respecto a la edad, se presento una asociacion directamente proporcional en ninos con astigmatismo y miopia, e inversamente proporcional en ninos hipermetropes. Se destaca la mayor frecuencia de ninos con desnutricion aguda e hipermetropia, y la mayor ingesta de desayunos saludables y lacteos por dia en ninos emetropes en comparacion con los hipermetropes. Como conclusion se obtuvo que la prevalencia de hipermetropia fue la mas alta y la miopia la mas baja en el grupo analizado. Este primer grupo realiza mas actividad fisica que los ninos con otros ER. Ademas, no se encontro asociacion estadistica entre las variables de nutricion ni sueno y descanso con los ER. EnglishThe aim of this study was to analyze the association of refractive errors in children aged 4 to 10 years with the factors related to them. This consisted of a cross-sectional descriptive study with quantitative approach, conducted in two sites of an educational institution, with probabilistic sampling and participation of 233 children in 2018. Refractive error (RE) was diagnosed under cycloplegia. To identify the nutritional status, weight and height were measured and interpreted. Sociodemographic data were obtained by survey, and healthy lifestyles were measured by a questionnaire on health risks in children and adolescents. The prevalence of hyperopia (Farsightedness), astigmatism, and myopia in children was 37 %, 21 %, and 2.2 %, respectively. No association of RE was shown with the sex of the population or with the socioeconomic conditions of the parents. Regarding age, there was a directly proportional association in children with astigmatism and myopia, and inversely proportional in hyperopic children. The higher frequency of children with acute malnutrition and hyperopia, and the higher intake of healthy breakfasts and dairy products per day in emmetropic children compared to hyperopic children are highlighted. As a conclusion, the prevalence of hyperopia was the highest and myopia the lowest in the group analyzed. This first group performs more physical activity than children with other RE. In addition, no statistical association was found between the variables of nutrition, sleep and rest with the RE.

Nationwide dental health surveys are crucial for providing essential information on dental health and dental condition–related problems in the community. However, the relationship between periodontal conditions and sociodemographic data has not been well investigated in Vietnam. With data from the National Oral Health Survey in 2019, we performed several machine learning methods on this dataset to investigate the impacts of sociodemographic features on gingival bleeding, periodontal pockets, and Community Periodontal Index. From the experiments, LightGBM produced a maximum AUC (area under the curve) value of 0.744. The other models in descending order were logistic regression (0.705), logiboost (0.704), and random forest (0.684). All methods resulted in significantly high overall accuracies, all exceeding 90%. The results show that the gradient boosting model can predict well the relationship between periodontal conditions and sociodemographic data. The investigated model also reveals that the geographic region has the most significant influence on dental health, while the consumption of sweet foods/drinks is the second most crucial. These findings advocate for a region-specific approach for the dental care program and the implementation of a sugar-risk food reduction program.

Objective: To verify the association between the hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype (FCH) and the estimate of the glomerular filtration rate (eTFG) in hypertensive patients. Method: This was a cross-sectional and retrospective study, consisting of 146 medical records of hypertensive adults consulted between 2013 and 2017 at the HUUFMA Kidney Disease Prevention Center. As doenças transmitidas por alimentos tem o manipulador de alimentos como um fator de risco para sua ocorrência, quando falhas são cometidas no processo de produção dos alimentos. O presente estudo teve como objetivo determinar o nível de conhecimento dos manipuladores de alimentos dos restaurantes tipo self-service do município de Patos – PB, quanto as boas práticas de manipulação. A pesquisa se deu por meio de aplicação de um questionário estruturado contendo 34 questões relacionadas às características sociodemográficas e ao conhecimento sobre boas práticas de manipulação para 65 manipuladores de alimentos de 25 restaurantes self-service, selecionados a partir dos estabelecimentos cadastrados na Vigilância Sanitária Municipal. Na classificação do nível de conhecimento foi adotado como satisfatória uma porcentagem igual ou superior a 60% de acertos. Os dados foram analisados através da estatística descritiva. Para os dados sociodemográficos, o estudo mostrou a predominância dos seguintes fatores: sexo feminino (95,0%), faixa etária de 40 a 49 anos (36,9%), ensino fundamental incompleto (36,95%), não realizam exames admissionais e/ou de rotina (75,4%) e parasitológico de fezes (40,0%), nunca participou de treinamento (60,0%). O nível de conhecimento dos manipuladores foi considerado como satisfatório sendo com média de acertos de 89,16%. Diante dos resultados obtidos, apesar dos manipuladores apresentarem um nível de conhecimento satisfatório, não o põe em prática, sendo necessária uma capacitação periódica para melhorar a qualificação profissional dos manipuladores, visando o fornecimento de alimentos seguros e minimizando os riscos de ocorrências de doenças transmitidas por alimentares. Abstract The foodborne diseases have the food handler as a risk factor for its occurrence, when failures are made in the food production process. This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of food handlers in self-service restaurants in the municipality of Patos - PB, regarding the good handling practices. The research took place through the application of a structured questionnaire containing 34 questions related to sociodemographic characteristics and knowledge about good handling practices, for 65 food handlers from 25 self-service restaurants, selected from establishments registered with the Municipal Health Surveillance. In the classification of the level of knowledge, a percentage equal to or greater than 60% of correct answers was adopted as satisfactory. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. For sociodemographic data, the study showed the predominance of the following factors: female gender (95,0%), age group 40-49 years (36,9%), incomplete elementary school (36,95%), do not perform admission exams and/or routine (75,4%) and parasitological stools (40,0%), never participated in training (60,0%). The level of knowledge of the manipulators was considered satisfactory, with an average of 89,16% correct answers. In view of the results obtained, despite the manipulators having a satisfactory level of knowledge, it does not put it into practice, requiring periodic training to improve the professional qualification of the manipulators, aiming at providing safe food and minimizing the risks of foodborne diseases. En este trabajo hemos estudiado el estrés organizacional de estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad de Murcia. Se trata de un diseño transversal por medio de una encuesta autocumplimentada que consta de datos sociodemográficos y un cuestionario de estrés organizacional. Este cuestionario es una adaptación de otro empleado en Reino Unido para estudiar el estrés organizacional en varias facultades de medicina del país. Obtuvimos una tasa de participación del 25.8 %. En relación con el estrés organizacional, se calculó la media de los distintos apartados: equilibrio vida-trabajo, adquisición de conocimientos y habilidades, cultura, apoyo académico percibido, apoyo personal y sanitario percibido. Al comparar con la puntuación media de las facultades de otros países, se obtuvieron diferencias significativas en los dominios “apoyo académico percibido”, “adquisición de conocimientos y habilidades” y “equilibrio vida-trabajo”. En el resto de dominios del cuestionario de estrés organizacional no hubo diferencias significativas entre la UMU y la media de las facultades de Reino Unido. Las puntuaciones en el cuestionario de estrés organizacional indican alto estrés en varios apartados estudiados. Los estudiantes también señalan otros aspectos que les resultan estresantes y que no están contemplados en los cuestionarios administrados. Pequeñas intervenciones podrían mejorar las puntuaciones obtenidas en algunos apartados. In this work we have studied the organizational stress of medical students at the University of Murcia. It is a cross-sectional design through a self-completed survey that consists of sociodemographic data and an organizational stress questionnaire. This questionnaire is adapted by another employee in the UK to study organizational stress in various medical schools in the country. We obtained a participation rate of 25.8%. In relation to organizational stress, the average of the different sections was calculated: work-life balance, acquisition of knowledge and skills, culture, perceived academic support, perceived personal and health support. When comparing with the average score of the faculties of other countries, significant differences were obtained in the domains “perceived academic support”, “acquisition of knowledge and skills” and “work-life balance”. In the rest of the domains of the organizational stress questionnaire, there were no significant differences between the UMU and the mean of the UK faculties. Scores on the organizational stress questionnaire indicate high stress in several sections studied. The students also point out other aspects that are stressful for them and that are not covered in the administered questionnaires. Small interventions could improve the scores obtained in some sections.

El confinamiento social por COVID-19 afecta la salud mental. Por tanto, los objetivos fueron: 1) determinar los niveles de depresión, ansiedad y estrés durante el confinamiento por estratos 2) analizar los cambios antes y durante el confinamiento, e 3) identificar los factores que incrementan el riesgo para dichos estados emocionales. Estudio ex post facto con medidas repetidas y explicativo en 768 sujetos, ambos sexos, de diferentes entidades de la república mexicana. Se empleó un muestreo no probabilístico (bola de nieve), utilizando una encuesta electrónica con datos sociodemográficos y la escala DASS-21 con opciones de respuesta adaptadas. Durante el confinamiento aumentó la depresión (t=-15.41, p.05), los factores de riesgo fueron: sexo mujer, no tener salario seguro, tener hijos, ser casado y menor edad. Se concluye que los niveles afectivos aumentaron durante el confinamiento y los modelos concuerdan en que el sexo mujer es un factor de riesgo común entre depresión, ansiedad y estrés durante la pandemia.

PURPOSE This study was carried out to determine the relationship between the level of conscientious intelligence and cultural sensitivity among nursing students. METHODS This is a cross-sectional descriptive design. The sample of this study consisted of 172 nursing students. The study data were collected using a sociodemographic data form, the intercultural sensitivity scale, and the conscientious intelligence scale. RESULTS The mean intercultural sensitivity scale score was 80.07 ± 10.68, and the mean conscientious intelligence scale score was 120.89 ± 12.32. Also, a positive relationship was determined between both scales that the nursing students obtained. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS The scale scores of nursing students were found to be a moderate level. As students' conscientious intelligence levels increased, their intercultural sensitivity was determined to increase, as well.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo describir las actitudes hacia la investigación científica de los estudiantes de la carrera profesional de Educación de un instituto de educación superior pedagógico de Madre de Dios, Perú. Itchy leaves are used to relieve body aches. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of public knowledge about the use of medicinal itchy leaves in the district Demta Papua Indonesia. Sampling was carried out by cluster sampling using a questionnaire. However, the analysis used Chi-square by comparing sociodemographic data with the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community towards the use of itchy leaves. The results showed that the use of itchy leaves was moderate category (83%), and the attitude was moderate (73%). Transgender people are exposed to many health inequality practices while receiving healthcare. In this study, we aimed to investigate the levels of transphobia among physicians who play an active role in the gender-affirming treatment (GAT) in Turkey. In this cross-sectional study, 530 physicians from the disciplines of psychiatry, endocrinology, gynecology, urology, and plastic surgery were assessed. Respondents completed a web-based survey consisting of sociodemographic data form and Genderism and Transphobia Scale (GTS) from May to June 2020. Among the 530 physicians, 126 were psychiatrists, 107 were endocrinologists, 119 were gynecologists, 111 were urologists, and 67 were plastic surgeons.
