Çoban Baba Türbesi is located on a high rock mass on the west of the Tokat-Erzincan state highway at the entrance to the village of Çobanlı, connected to the district of Gölova, Sivas province. Since there is no inscription of the mausoleum, the date of construction is not known for sure. It is believed that the Çoban Baba, who is buried in the tomb, is the owner of miracle. There is a legend about the Çoban Baba and this legend has been passed down from generation to generation and has come down to the present day. According to this legend, Yavuz Sultan Selim built his mausoleum because Çoban Baba, whom he met while hosting the army around Çobanlı on his way to the Egyptian War, gave treats to the army and showed generosity. According to legend, 16. when the architectural features of the mausoleum, which should have been built in the first quarter of the century, are evaluated, it is understood that it was built at an earlier date. The Çoban Baba Mausoleum is a one-story, square-plan tomb structure from the inside and outside, and it is covered with a dome from the inside and a four-way pyramidal roof from the outside. The mausoleum, which was built with cut stone, has similar features with Anatolian mausoleum architecture in terms of decoration features. The Çoban Baba Mausoleum, which is a modest example of Anatolian mausoleum architecture in terms of its architectural features, is one of the places to visit in the Sivas region. In this study, the architectural features, material-technique and decoration features of the Çoban Baba Mausoleum, which is the subject of legends, were examined and evaluated. The Çoban Baba Mausoleum retains its importance in terms of being an important cult center among the people and the earliest dated structure in the region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Situated in the eastern part of the Central Anatolia Region, in the Upper Kızılırmak basin, Sivas is an important transition region between Central Anatolia, Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, connecting the Central Anatolian plateau to the mountainous parts of Eastern Anatolia. Sivas, which has a deep-rooted history starting from ancient times to the present day, is in a region that should be at the forefront of archaeological projects. However, it is impossible to say that the studies carried out in the region so far have reached a sufficient level. These archaeological studies can be grouped under three sub-headings: surveys, excavations and re-evaluation studies. Among all these archaeological studies carried out in Sivas province, the most productive results were obtained from the re-evaluation of archaeological data. The results of the surveys and excavations are published and evaluated both within the province itself and in studies carried out throughout the wider region. In addition, many artefacts preserved in the Sivas Museum have also been properly evaluated. Although the number of archaeological surveys conducted in the region is adequate, the number of archaeological excavations is relatively insignificant. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This study will examine and analyse the idâne records found in the Sivas Shar'iyya Registry Books numbered 198. Idāna is a legal term meaning debt. One of the facts of societies is orphanhood. Orphans need care and protection until they are old enough to meet their needs. In particular, the movable and immovable properties the family leaves must be preserved and protected until the age when they can be used by themselves. In the Ottoman Empire, the property of orphans was kept by guardians appointed by the court until they reached the age of twenty, which was considered the age of majority. From 1851 onwards, the Ottoman Empire took the responsibility of protecting and managing the of orphans' property by establishing The Orphans Custody (Emvâl-i Eytâm Nezareti). The custody aimed to offer orphans' property to the market, primarily to trusted tradesmen, and to prevent the orphan's money from losing value in economic conditions through interest income. In order to monitor this, the custody created book within its organisation. Until the idāna records were kept in separate books, they were also recorded in the shar'iyya registry boks. One of Sivas's the limited numbered Shar'iyya registry books, numbered 198 and dated 1895-1909, is a book consisting entirely of idāna debt notes. This book, may contain various records such as creditors, debtors, the supply of money to the market, interest rates, and profiles of debtors. Borrowers were local families, women entrepreneurs, tradesmen, local officials, educators, and members of religious orders. It is noteworthy that in the repayment of the loans, the money was used in financial circles with interest rates ranging from a low of 9% to a high of 50% according to the economic conditions of the period. Although the idāna records do not show in which area of the economy the money was invested, a total of 487 thousand 283 kuruş was offered to the market. This sum yielded an interest return of 126 thousand 229 kurus. This corresponds to an average rate of 21 per cent, which is a reasonable rate in the economic conditions of the day. MIDDLE Paleolithic Period , *PALEOLITHIC Period , *PLEISTOCENE Epoch - Abstract
This study presents the results of the Pleistocene Period survey conducted in Divriği, Kangal, Gürün and Altınyayla Districts of Sivas Province between 2016-2019. The aim of the study was to identify chipped stone tools, caves, rock shelters and raw material resources indicating the presence of Paleolithic humans in Sivas and to add the findings to the Paleolithic stratigraphy of Turkey. "Pedestrian survey method" was used in the research. The chipped stone remains were firstly divided according to Paleolithic ages and technologicaltypological descriptions of the chipped stone remains were made. During the survey, 16 Paleolithic sites were identified and 236 lithics were identified. No caves or rock shelters containing Paleolithic deposits were found, but Divriği, Kangal and Gürün are rich in volcanic rocks and flint. Technological and typological analyses of the stone tools revealed the presence of a Lower Palaeolithic culture in Divriği using volcanic rocks, similar to the Mode 1 industry, and Middle Palaeolithic and Late Upper Palaeolithic (perhaps Epipaleolithic) cultures in Kangal, Gürün and Altınyayla, where flint was the preferred raw material. The Middle Palaeolithic culture of Sivas is more similar to the Middle Palaeolithic finds from Karain Cave than Hatay. Since the finds were not in situ, radiometric dating was not possible. This study is one of the rare Palaeolithic archaeological investigations conducted in the region and demonstrates that humans were able to live at high altitudes during the Pleistocene, that Sivas was an important transition zone during the Pleistocene, and that at least two different human species must have lived in the region. - Abstract
Armenians, one of the most important elements of the Ottoman nation system, had an important place in the Ottoman social structure with their culture and profession. They were among the leading pieces of the mosaic. Although this mosaic was shaped together with the original Ottoman elements and minorities, some of the lives of these communities were progressing in isolation from each other. In accordance with the understanding of the period, the sensitivities covered by their religious life such as education and law, as well as worship, were peculiar to them. However, this does not mean that the divergent experiences on these issues do not affect each other. In particular, local educational activities that were outside the control of the state could have features that could deepen the differences of the groups. After all, for every member of religion, members of other religions are seen as people that unorthodox. Although different religious groups exhibited good neighbourliness and partnerships and achieved remarkable harmony in Ottoman society, this does not change the deep view. This study focused on the educational activities of Armenians, whose they have a considerable density among the city population, in Sivas. The aim of the study is to open a door on the educational life of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, as well as the state’s stance against this educational business and how these activities affect the relations between Armenians and other elements. Red Crescent Society began to be formed in Sivas at the beginning of the World War I. The activities of the Society in Sivas were shaped by the developments of the Caucasus Front. At the beginning of the war, a Red Crescent Hospital was established in the city to assist the front. The significance of Sivas expressed itself right after the occupation of Erzurum and Trabzon in the second half of 1916. Transferring the Red Crescent Hospital from Erzurum to Sivas and the ceasing trading of Trabzon port made Sivas the health base of the Caucasian Front. In addition, the Red Crescent Society established a laboratory producing cholera, dysentery, typhoid and typhus vaccines, a vaccination laboratory producing smallpox vaccine and a ra-bies treatment centre in Sivas, and tried to meet the needs of the army and civilian people in this regard. These production of vaccine in Sivas also formed the basis of vaccine production in the Republican period. The activities of the Red Crescent Society in Sivas decreased at the beginning of 1918 in parallel with the developments of the Caucasian Front. This article aims to examine the activities of the Red Crescent Society in Sivas during the World War I by using especially the Red Crescent Archive, the Ottoman Archive and related literature. - Abstract
This study is about the introduction and evaluation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Coşkun's work titled ‘Dede Institution’ in Anatolian Alevism. While preparing our study, we used the author's name and other published works. Despite the increase in publications on Alevism-Bektashi, the scarcity of studies examining Dede Institution in Anatolian Alevism reveals the importance of the work we will promote. Although the subject of Alevism has been a popular subject in our country recently, the abundance of publications far from field studies makes this demand insufficient. Hasan Coşkun, the author of the work we examined, conveyed Dede Institution through the Alevism of the Tokat and Sivas regions in a fluent, understandable and objective way with the knowledge and experience he gained from field observations. The work we are examining is a work based on field research. Although field research is important in terms of carrying out the primary actors of the subject, the difficulties of the field are also an issue that cannot be ignored. The fact that subjects such as Dede Institution and the quarry structure are the subject of a study other than field research will mean that the relevant subjects will be deprived of their primary interlocutors, which is not a desirable situation in terms of the nature and quality of the study.

This study was conducted to determine the erosion risk caused by the change in land use/cover in Acısu Basin between 2000-2018. In the study where the RUSLE model was preferred, other parameters were kept constant, but the model was applied to the model twice separately with the land cover/use data of the relevant years and two independent erosion maps were created. With the study, how much soil is lost in Acısu Basin during the year, which regions are more exposed to erosion, and their distribution was classified and revealed. During the study, the data obtained from satellite images, topographic maps, and field observations were analyzed by GIS and IA techniques. Kappa statistical test was used for the accuracy of the findings. It was determined that the most change in the direction of growth in the basin in 18 years from 2000 to 2018 was 17.08 km² (3.35%) in grassland and pasture areas. On the other hand, it was determined that the highest change in the direction of the decrease occurred in plant change areas with a value of -23.05 km² (4.49%). It is seen that the change in the surface cover of the study area in this time interval caused the expansion of very light, light, and moderate erosion areas. Due to this change in the land surface of Acısu Basin covering 18 years, it was determined that there was an increase in the annual total of 197 t ha-1 y -1 and an increase in the average soil loss amount of 49 t ha-1 y -1 . - Abstract
Intense tectonic activities and alterations in ophiolites of the Alpine-Himalayan Orogeny Belt complicate the delineation and mapping of chromite-bearing rocks by traditional geology surveys. This study tests the performance of ASTER-based remote sensing in a region covered by ophiolite rocks with complex geology, alteration, and intense tectonism in Eastern-Central Anatolia. Today, there are many chromite deposits and detected mineralizations in the study area. The fact that there was almost no chromite mining activity in the study area at the acquisition date of the ASTER data, highlights the usability of the results of the remote sensing methods and techniques applied in the study for mineral exploration activities. According to field surveys, petrographic examinations, and ore microscopy, the ophiolite rocks consist of serpentinized peridotite, harzburgite, dunite, diabase, and gabbro. Chromite mineralizations occur in dunites such as disseminated, banded, and lens-shaped. Hyperspectral signatures obtained from the representative rock and mineralization samples using ASD FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res have been integrated into the advanced spaceborne thermal emission and reflection radiometer (ASTER) multispectral satellite data. This study shows the performance of image enhancement techniques such as band ratio, minimum noise fraction (MNF), and spectral classification such as matched filtering (MF). The boundaries of ophiolite rocks with band ratio techniques are distinguished at the regional scale of the boundaries of sedimentary and igneous rocks, but sub-ophiolite rock units are not distinctly appearing within the ophiolite rocks. The MNF results can distinguish chromite-bearing rocks from the other rocks, although the boundaries of the rocks are not very distinct. The MF results map the sub-ophiolite units with high accuracy, except for the diabase dykes. The MF results have an overall accuracy of over 84% and a kappa coefficient of 0.74. Most of the chromite-bearing sites identified in the MF are currently being operated as chromite deposits. Consequently, this study shows that the MF spectral classification can be high performance in the delineation of chromite-bearing rocks in the ophiolite complexes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Diş Kayalıkları is one of the largest and most striking examples of crests in the world and is located between Eskidere and Boğazören villages of the İmranlı district of the Sivas province in Türkiye. The crests, which resemble castle walls when viewed from afar, have a real wall pattern due to the right-angled crack system of the bedrock when viewed closely. This study aims at investigating the geomorphological features of the Diş Kayalıkları and determining how the geological and geomorphological evolution of the Diş Kayalıkları took place and how the current formation mechanism continues. In the region, the mid-latitude continental climate prevails with cold humid winters and warm dry summers. The bedrock consists of Miocene bedded deposits of different resistance, folded by young tectonic movements. Diş Kayalıkları was formed by selective erosion of less resistant terrain around a pack of resistant rock on the steeper southern slope of an asymmetrical anticline. It has a length of 4750 m in the approximately northwest-southeast direction, a maximum height of 30 m, and a width varying between 5 and 8 m. In the present morphological appearance of the Diş Kayalıkları, it can be stated that the structure formed after the tectonic formation process was eroded under the control of the local climate and crest formation was realized. In the following process, the crest experienced a polycyclic process where different landforms were formed. There are smaller landforms such as karren, cave and rock window on Diş Kayalıkları, and macrofossil beds in some places. This highly attractive geomorphosite, unknown to wider public, should be investigated from various scientific aspects and should be brought to regional tourism by making the necessary infrastructure and promotion studies. Security is one of the essential issues for every individual and society. States want to be protected from internal and external dangers and to make the people feel safe against possible dangers. Law enforcement agencies such as the gendarmerie and the police ensure the peace and security of states in the world. Places that felt insecure often became enceinte with problems. Due to the troubles in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, various outbursts arose. Especially after the First World War, when the central authority was shaken, an opportunity arose for many bandits. Therefore, gaps have emerged in the state at the point of public order and security. The country has made various attempts to fill the void. The study deals with the evolution of the zaptiye into the gendarmerie and then the interaction of the banditry activities of the Ottoman gendarme in Sivas. The prime source for unearthing all of this was the The Ottoman Archive of the Presidency of the State Archives of the Presidency. The bandit activities encountered in the archive scans are conveyed in chronological order and in all their aspects. The Gendarmerie took care to suppress the corruption committed by the bandits with all its means. The questions of exactly where, by whom and how the activities were carried out were answered. In this study, dog traffic in the animal shelter of Sivas province was investigated both quantitatively on the basis of years and the reasons for abandonment, as well as the attitudes and behaviors of the animal owners. In the study, besides the dog traffic records of the stray animal rehabilitation center operated by Sivas Municipality, the survey data made with the owners who left their dogs there were analyzed. According to the four-year records (2019-2022), the average number of dogs staying in the Sivas Municipality Animal Shelter is 1058, while the average number of dogs collected from the street per month is 50.7, the average number of spayed female and male dogs per month is 17.33 and 33.44, respectively. The average number of adopted female and male dogs was 2.8 and 4.3 respectively and, dog deaths per month in the shelter was 21.9. Every month, an average of 15 dogs were released back to the point where they were taken after the spayed and treated at the animal shelter. In addition, a face-to-face survey was conducted with a total of 50 people who left their dogs in the shelter and 15 questions were asked to the participants, including the reasons for adopting/abandonment and form of care-feeding. As a result, it can be said that it would be beneficial to deal with the process in many different provinces with more detailed studies in terms of the ever-increasing number of dog acquisitions in the society and the prevention of their abandonment.

Objective:This study aimed to investigate Anaplasma phagocytophilum and related strains (A. phagocytophilum-like 1 and like 2) in sheep and goats for the first time in Sivas province with molecular techniques. Methods:The study material was composed of 247 animal (159 sheep and 88 goats) blood samples from four districts of Sivas province (Sivas City Center, Kangal, Koyulhisar, and Yıldızeli). A. phagocytophilum and related strains were screened with polymerase chain reaction (PCR), PCR-RFLP, and DNA sequence analysis.Results:A. phagocytophilum related strains were found in 44.93% (111/247) of the small ruminants using PCR. The infection rate was 45.91% (73/159) in sheep and 43.18% (38/88) in goats. In this study, 110 samples were positive for only A. phagocytophilum-like 1, while A. phagocytophilum-like 1 and like 2 were mix-infection in one sample. A. phagocytophilum was not detected in sheep or goats. Two randomly selected PCR products were sequenced in both directions, and the consensus sequences were deposited on the GenBank under accession numbers: ON598644 and ON598645. Nucleotide similarity of 99.34-100% was determined between A. phagocytophilum-like 1 isolates obtained in this study and those of A. phagocytophilum-like 1 isolates present in the GenBank database. Conclusion:This study provides the first molecular data on A. phagocytophilum-like 1 and like 2 in Sivas province. Considering the high positive rate of the A. phagocytophilum-like 1 in sheep and goats, there is a paucity of data on clinical symptoms and vector species of the pathogen. Therefore, further studies are needed to investigate the vector tick species and clinical symptoms of the pathogen in the host.

POPULAR music , *FOLK music , *ORAL history , *TWENTIETH century , *INTELLECTUAL life , *BASS guitar , *DOUBLE bass - Abstract
Sivas, which constitutes one of the strongest veins of thousands of years of musical heritage in Anatolia, has been one of the cities that enrich our music culture not only with folk music but also with popular music works. In this study, beyond traditional folk music works, the first popular music works that started in Sivas especially after the second half of the twentieth century are discussed. In this sense, it was tried to examine what kind of works were carried out in Sivas in the name of popular music, especially in the 1960 and later period, with the oral history method, and it was aimed to bring to light a musical memory that is almost hidden today. Interviews with the living representatives of the period and document analysis revealed that there was a very active popular music scene in Sivas between 1960 and 1985, and that modern Western instruments such as double bass, saxophone, drums, bass guitar and accordion shaped the musical and cultural life in Sivas. These popular music formations, which were characterized as "jazzband" at the time and shaped by individual efforts, added richness to the existing music culture of the city, but it is understood that they have not been in demand since the mid-1980s. AUDITORY evoked response , *REFERENCE values , *MANN Whitney U Test , *AGE groups , *STATISTICAL significance , *EVOKED response audiometry - Abstract
The sense of hearing is important for animals, especially dogs, to fulfil their duties. The aim of the study is to determine the normative data of hearing sense in Aksaray Malaklısı shepherd dogs bred in Sivas (I., III. and V wave latencies at 80 db HL). In the study, the brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) test was performed in 32 dogs in total. In addition, dogs are divided into groups according to age, gender and general. Normative data were determined for the reference latency intervals for each wave of both ears of the animals in the groups; in addition, statistical differences between wave latency intervals were also investigated. In general, independent groups t-test was used to compare the two ears. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskall-Wallis tests were used to compare genders and ages according to the mean of both ears. All statistical analysis were performed in the SPSS v.25 packed programme. At the end of the study I., III. and V. of wave latencies the mean values for the general, female, male, younger than 9 months, 10 -30 months and 31 months and over groups were 1.37-2.30-3.52; 1.36-2.27-3.50; 1.45-2.40-3.58; 1.30-2.25-3.65; 1.302.25-3.55, and 1.43-2.33-3.48 ms, respectively. No statistical significance was found in the wave latencies in the comparison of the groups (P>0.05). In this study, normative data on the sense of hearing in Aksaray Malaklısı shepherd dogs were determined for the first time. These normative data can be used as a reference range in clinical examinations and future studies on hearing of Aksaray Malaklısı shepherd dogs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sivas province retains unique figures and institutions in Turkish music from the proclamation of the Republic to the present, in addition to being one of the momentous cities of Turkey in terms of musical culture. Upon the compilation of activities initiated in the field of folk music in the first quarter of the Republic, cultural and artistic life in the city has taken form in the context of the activities of Sivas Community Center, Public Education Center, Sivas Municipality Conservatoire, Sivas State Turkish Folk Music Ensemble, music departments at Cumhuriyet University and various other Turkish music associations and choirs formed by individual efforts, respectively. In this sense, music-related studies from the past to the present have opened the door slightly to music culture enrichment and its transfer to future generations in Sivas. This study aimed to reveal what kind of personal and institutional studies have been carried out in the field of music in Sivas since 1950, focusing on musical works that were accelerated and shaped by individual and institutional initiatives after the 1950s. In addition to the literature review, the study especially gave substantial place to oral sources. Consequently, the study findings revealed the pioneering names, organizations, and studies that molded the music culture in Sivas and concluded that organized music activities merely began in the post-1990 period.

- Abstract
Climate change caused by anthropogenic causes is one of the biggest global environmental problems of our time. Global climate models and climate change projections have been created to combat climate change on a global scale. Although the outputs of this model are sufficient on a global and continental scale, they are insufficient for measures to be taken against climate change on a local scale. In this study, statistical downscaling of the GFDL-ESM2M global climate model dataset with the Climate Change Toolkit (CCT) software was applied to create change projections of precipitation, minimum temperature and maximum temperature parameters for RCP scenarios. Inverse distance weighted interpolation method was applied to the average change rates obtained, and possible changes in Sivas province were evaluated by creating spatial distribution maps for the near future (2022-2050), mid-future period (2050-2075) and far future (2075-2100). As a result of the study, it has been predicted that the province will experience maximum temperature increases of 8.5 - 37%, minimum temperature increases of 10-171% and a decrease of precipitation of 0 - 26% in different scenarios. Objective:This study aimed to examine the frequency of house dust mite according to various variables and determine the house dust mite population in these provinces in house dust samples collected in the same period from İstanbul and Tekirdağ provinces, which is located on the coastal part of the Marmara Region, and Sivas province, which has different climatic and geographic characteristics from these provinces. A comparison was done from each province. Methods:Between May and August 2018, a total of 100 powder samples were prepared by a lactic acid precipitation method that was examined microscopically. Besides, some variables in Tekirdağ and İstanbul provinces were applied to participants by face-to-face interview method from a questionnaire. Results:House dust mite was found with a rate of 66.7% in İstanbul and 61.5% in Tekirdağ; however, house dust mite was not found in Sivas province. According to survey results, the frequency of house dust mite detection is 1-4. It increased according to the fact that it is located between floors, cleaning was every 15 days, no smoking at home and insufficient sun exposure. No statistically significant difference was found according to the presence of plants and/or animals in the house and way of heating. Conclusion:Measures to be taken against house a dust mite, which is the most essential component of house dust with allergic content, are observed to be important in reducing complaints of sensitive people by especially considering the climate, geographic characteristics and general hygienic conditions. According to investigations, Baloghella melis, one of the mites detected in dust samples taken from İstanbul, has been determined to be a new record in Turkey. This study will contribute to Turkey with this aspect fauna of house dust mites.

It is seen that the concept of “social capital”, which is used in the social sciences literature to reference the resources and potentials, embedded in human relations in general and which over time form a detached faction of its own in social theory, tries to fill the structural gaps of Marxist social theory that has a normative character and explain the nature of social practice through “social networks” by centering on human relations. In this respect, it is understood that fictive kinships such as “blood brotherhood” or “kirvelik”, which are based on the symbolic roles of kinship and turn friendship relations between individuals into an institutional pattern, are directly related to social capital theory and appear as a very important field of study in terms of theory with the resources they contain or their potential for conversion to other capital. Therefore, in this article, the situation of the kirvelik institution in Sivas city center, which is seen mainly in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Turkey and connects people tightly by bringing friendship relations to an institutional basis, was discussed through social capital theory and the functions of this tradition for the local people were tried to be analyzed in detail based on the field research conducted in 2012.

In July 2017, three specimens of an alien fish species were caught by the amateur fishermen in Kızılırmak River at Sivas city center. One of the fish specimens was taken from the fishermen for ichthyologic examination. The morphological, metric (23 features) and meristic characters (13 features) of this specimen were determined. The alien fish is with ovoid shape and flattened laterally. Mouth is in a sub-ventral position. The tooth row is double. Teeth formula are 3,2 / 2,3 (at first row on maxil) and 2 / 2 (at second row on maxil), 3,3 / 3,4 (at first row on mandibul), 1,1 (at second row on mandibul). The number of rakers on the first gill arch is 33. The scale numbers in line lateral are 107 (on right side) and 103 (on left side). The number of branched rays of dorsal, anal, pectoral, and ventral fins are 14, 24, 14, and 7; respectively. As a result of the evaluation of morphological, metric and meristic characters, it was decided that the alien fish caught from Kızılırmak was Piaractus mesopotamicus (Holmberg, 1887) belonging to the Characidae family. This species is also called as the small-scaled pacu. P. mesopotamicus is not among to native fish fauna of Kızılırmak. It is a fish species which originated from South America and is a tropical freshwater fish. These alien fish specimens which were caught by the amateur fishermen, probably translocated from a hobbyist aquarium to this aquatic system. Both directly and indirectly, invasive fishes affect a wide range of native organisms from zooplankton to mammals across multiple levels of biological organizations ranging from the genome to the ecosystem. This study is the first scientific record for Sivas aquatic systems related to alien fish species.

SOLAR radiation , *STANDARD deviations , *SOLAR energy , *TRIGONOMETRIC functions - Abstract
In this study, in order to determine the solar energy potential in the Central Anatolia Region, the total solar radiation on the horizontal plane was evaluated with trigonometric functions (Models). During 1999-2019 in the region, monthly average values of total daily solar radiation coming to the horizontal plane was calculated with six different models. It was also compared with the values measured in the same time interval. Model 1 (Angstrom-Prescott-Page), Model 2 (Soler, Rietveld), Model 3 (Kılıc and Ozturk), Model 4 (Akinoglu and Ecevit), Model 5 (Bahel) and Model 6 (Louche) were used in the calculations. Regression coefficients were calculated for these models and the coefficients were used in the estimation of total solar radiation (SR). From these models, Model 2 and Model 3 regression values for many provinces in the Central Anatolia Region (CAR) are higher than other models. Model 3 (Kılıc and Ozturk) with a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.986 showed the best predictive performance among the models examined. This model was compared to other models and the mean error of deviation (MBE) was found to be -0.060 and the root mean square error (RMSE) 0.707. However, considering the total SR, annual sunshine duration (SD) and average temperature, Model 4 (Akinoglu and Ecevit) showed the best predictive performance which indicates that it will be a suitable model for Sivas Province.
