Nanomaterials have been used widely for delivery of therapeutic agents. Protein–nanoparticle (NP) complexes have gained importance as vehicles for targeted drug delivery due to increased ease of administration, stability and half-life of drug, and reduced toxic side effects. Designing of phospholipid–bovine serum albumin (BSA) complexes and stealth NPs with BSA has paved the way for drug delivery carriers with prolonged blood circulation times. Preformed albumin corona has shown to decrease non-specific association and thereby reduce the clearance rate. Albumin corona has enabled the localization of drug carriers in specific tissues such as liver and heart, thus regulating biodistribution. Tailored albumin–NP conjugates have also enabled controlled degradation of NP and drug release. However, the binding of albumin with NP is associated with conformational and functional modulations in protein as observed with silver, gold and superparamagnetic iron oxide NPs. Women constitute half of the population and contributing for the socio-economic development of the families and the nation as a whole. This study is formation and nurturing of SHGS target population. Background: Pathophysiological changes of Huntington's disease (HD) can precede symptom onset by decades. Robust imaging biomarkers are needed to monitor HD progression, especially before the clinical onset., Purpose: To investigate iron dysregulation and microstructure alterations in subcortical regions as HD imaging biomarkers, and to associate such alterations with motor and cognitive impairments., Study Type: Prospective., Population: Fourteen individuals with premanifest HD (38.0 ± 11.0 years, 9 females; far-from-onset N = 6, near-onset N = 8), 21 manifest HD patients (49.1 ± 12.1 years, 11 females), and 33 age-matched healthy controls (43.9 ± 12.2 years, 17 females)., Field Strength/sequence: 7 T, T 1 -weighted imaging, quantitative susceptibility mapping, and diffusion tensor imaging., Assessment: Volume, susceptibility, fractional anisotropy (FA), and mean diffusivity (MD) within subcortical brain structures were compared across groups, used to establish HD classification models, and correlated to clinical measures and cognitive assessments., Statistical Tests: Generalized linear model, multivariate logistic regression, receiver operating characteristics with the area under the curve (AUC), and likelihood ratio test comparing a volumetric model to one that also includes susceptibility and diffusion metrics, Wilcoxon paired signed-rank test, and Pearson's correlation. A P-value <0.05 after Benjamini-Hochberg correction was considered statistically significant., Results: Significantly higher striatal susceptibility and FA were found in premanifest and manifest HD preceding atrophy, even in far-from-onset premanifest HD compared to controls (putamen susceptibility: 0.027 ± 0.022 vs. 0.018 ± 0.013 ppm; FA: 0.358 ± 0.048 vs. 0.313 ± 0.039). The model with additional susceptibility, FA, and MD features showed higher AUC compared to volume features alone when differentiating premanifest HD from HC (0.83 vs. 0.66), and manifest from premanifest HD (0.94 vs. 0.83). Tofacitinib is the first oral JAK inhibitor approved for treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA). To enhance our understanding of tofacitinib drug response, we used hierarchical clustering to analyse the profiles of patient who responded to the treatment in a real-world setting. Patients who commenced on tofacitinib treatment were selected from 12 major rheumatology centres in Malaysia. The aim was to assess their response to tofacitinib defined as achieving DAS28-CRP/ESR ≤ 3.2 and DAS28 improvement > 1.2 at 12 weeks. A hierarchical clustering analysis was performed using sociodemographic and clinical parameters at baseline. All 163 RA patients were divided into three clusters (Clusters 1, 2 and 3) based on specific clinical factors at baseline including bone erosion, antibody positivity, disease activity and anaemia status. Cluster 1 consisted of RA patients without bone erosion, antibody negative, low baseline disease activity measure and absence of anaemia. Cluster 2 comprised of patients without bone erosion, RF positivity, anti-CCP negativity, moderate to high baseline disease activity score and absence of anaemia. Cluster 3 patients had bone erosion, antibody positivity, high baseline disease activity and anaemia. The response rates to tofacitinib varied among the clusters: Cluster 1 had a 79% response rate, Cluster 2 had a 66% response rate, and Cluster 3 had a 36% response rate. The differences in response rates between the three clusters were found to be statistically significant. This cluster analysis study indicates that patients who are seronegative and have low disease activity, absence of bone erosion and no signs of anaemia may have a higher likelihood of benefiting from tofacitinib therapy. By identifying clinical profiles that respond to tofacitinib treatment, we can improve treatment stratification yielding significant benefits and better health outcomes for individuals with RA., (© 2024. Background & objectives Under-five mortality is high among the Scheduled Tribes (ST) in India compared with the general population. This study examined the association of different maternal, child, socio demographic, and household factors associated with under-five mortality among Scheduled Tribes in India. Methods Data from the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS)-5 (2019-2021) for the ST, across all Indian States and Union Territories were used for analyses. Binary and multivariate logistic regression were performed to identify the association of maternal, child, socio-demographic, and household factors with under-five mortality among the ST population. Results Different maternal, child, socio demographic, and household factors were significantly associated with under-five mortality. The odds of under-five mortality were highest among women who gave birth to their children at home [Adjusted odds ratio (AOR): 1.42; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.268-1.59] as compared with women who gave birth at institution. Literate women have lesser odds of under-five mortality than women with no formal education (AOR: 0.666; 95% CI: 0.501-0.885). The risk of under-five mortality was higher among four or more birth order children (AOR: 1.422; 95% CI: 1.246-1.624) compared with the first to third birth order children. The odds of under-five mortality decreased among children with a rich wealth index (AOR: 0.742; 95% CI: 0.592-0.93) compared to children with a poor wealth index. Interpretation & conclusions Analyses of under-five mortality among ST in India showed a significant association between different maternal, child, sociodemographic, and household factors. Grass-roots-level interventions such as promoting female education, addressing vast wealth differentials, and providing family planning services with a focus on reducing under-five mortality are essential in improving the survival of under-five children among the ST population in India.

Endodontic sealers and cements used in root canal treatment have different compositions and properties. Common to all materials is that their primary goal is to fill gaps and voids, making a permanent seal of the root canal system. Furthermore, aspects such as antibacterial properties, cytotoxicity, setting time, solubility and biocompatibility are also crucial and ought to be considered. Over the years, a shift in the view on the importance of these aspects has ocurred. Whereas the antibacterial properties were considered important when the technical factors in endodontics were less developed, the sealing ability and biocompatibility have later been considered the most critical factors. The introduction of tricalcium silicate cements and sealers has led to a renewed interest in material properties, as these cements seem to have good sealing ability and at the same time combine favourable antimicrobial effects with excellent biocompatibility.
