There are increasing numbers of studies involving Generation Y and Generation Z, as these generations represent the present and future generations and drive the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable development of the natural environment. Environmentally responsible behavior is the key feature for diagnosing how people think and react to the environment where they are situated. This study investigates and analyzes the relevant influencing factors of nature tourists from Generation Y and Generation Z in Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam regarding their performance of environmentally responsible behaviors and compares the differences of these factors among the three groups. The study analysis methods were regression analysis and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Based on the research results, we verified three factors related to environmentally responsible behavior, pro-ecological worldview, environmental attitude and situational factors. A pro-ecological worldview will indirectly affect environmentally responsible behavior within the three groups. Situational factors directly and indirectly significantly affect environmental attitudes and environmentally responsible behavior in the three groups. In addition, these three groups have significant differences in the average recognition of pro-ecological worldview, environmental attitude, and situational factors and thus environmentally responsible behavior. The overall result reveals that the Thai group tended to have better recognition than that of the Taiwanese and Vietnamese groups. This study examines the characteristics of the sexual victimization of adolescents and provides a comparison with the ones of children and adults. The sample includes 2,665 sexual abuse cases of female children, adolescents, and adults in France. Analyses revealed differential patterns in factors associated with the sexual victimization of adolescents. Findings suggest that the sexual victimization of adolescents may be located along a continuum in terms of sexuality, antisociality, and situational factors, between children and adult victimization. Implications for the prevention of the victimization of adolescents, clinical considerations for offenders, and avenues for future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic situation makes people tend to consume video on demand as an alternative for home entertainment. This makes video on demand service providers compete by taking advantage of this situation. Sometimes the existing stimulus can lead people to buy products impulsively. This study aims to examine the effect of situational factor, visual merchandising, and electronic word of mouth on impulse buying behavior. This study used non-probability sampling techniques and the method used was judgmental sampling. This study focuses on Netflix consumers aged 18-39 who bought Netflix products impulsively during the COVID-19 pandemic. 200 respondents collected using the online bilingual questionnaire in English and Indonesian and spread over 32 countries. Data were analyzed using a multiple linear regression method. The results showed that situational factor and electronic word of mouth significantly influence on impulse buying behavior. Meanwhile, visual merchandising has no influence on impulse buying behavior. This can be used as a reference in increasing sales by maximizing consumer impulse buying behavior.

Certain factors may exert un-intensifying effects on service performance expectations. In the pandemic crisis era of domestic confinement, as consumer shopping at physical stores is restricted, e-stores have become a useful source of goods. It is proposed that such a confinement crisis, as an extreme situational factor, can have a mitigating effect on the expectation level of service performance of e-stores. Hence, it is hypothesised that consumers may become more forgiving with e-suppliers, reporting a higher perceived performance under a confinement crisis than under normal social conditions. Two sets of data were compared for assessment, employing the same questionnaire to evaluate consumer opinions of service performance, brand perceptions, satisfaction, trust and intentions of e-stores. One set of data was collected under normal conditions, prior to domestic confinement being imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico. The second set of data was collected during a high point of contagion of the COVID-19 emergency in Mexico. Results suggest that there are significant differences in some variables related to perceived service performance, brand perceptions and behavioural intentions between the two sets of data. Apparently, consumers tend to perceive, in some respects, a higher level of performance of e-stores under confinement conditions than under normal social conditions. Abstract Background Situational factors during a fall among three common types of fractures of the distal forearm, hip, and vertebrae among older women in Taiwan were investigated. Methods In 2016 ~ 2017, study participants were identified from those aged ≥65 years who visited emergency departments due to a fall in two university-affiliated hospitals in Taipei. In addition to individual characteristics, situational factors during the fall (location, activity, change of center of mass, fall mode, fall direction, initiating a protective response, and being hit) were collected. A sample of 203 distal-forearm fractures, 189 vertebral fractures, and 375 hip fractures was recruited, while 717 women with a soft-tissue injury were used as a control group. The identification of situational risk factors for each type of fracture was validated by using those who sustained one of the other two types of fracture as a control group. Results After adjusting for age and other individual characteristics, compared to soft-tissue injuries, distal-forearm fractures were significantly more likely to occur with slips (odds ratio [OR] = 11.0; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 4.76 ~ 25.4), trips (OR = 3.40; 95% CI = 1.42 ~ 8.17), step-downs (OR = 4.95; 95% CI = 2.15 ~ 11.4), and from sideways falls (OR = 1.73; 95% CI = 1.12 ~ 2.67) and significantly less likely to occur indoors (OR = 0.62; 95% CI = 0.42 ~ 0.90) or from backwards falls (OR = 0.62; 95% CI = 0.41 ~ 0.95). Hip fractures were significantly more likely to occur with step-downs (OR = 1.76; 95% CI = 1.13 ~ 2.75) and from backwards (OR = 3.16; 95% CI = 2.15 ~ 4.64) or sideways falls (OR = 5.56; 95% CI = 3.67 ~ 8.41) and significantly less likely when hitting an object (OR = 0.26; 95% CI = 0.13 ~ 0.52) or initiating a protective response (OR = 0.58; 95% CI = 0.36 ~ 0.93). Vertebral fractures were significantly more likely to occur with slips (OR = 2.42; 95% CI = 1.30 ~ 4.50), step-downs (OR = 2.53; 95% CI = 1.43 ~ 4.48), and backwards falls (OR = 2.15; 95% CI = 1.39 ~ 3.32). Similar results were found in the validation analyses. Conclusions Large variations in situational risk factors for the three types of fracture in older women existed. A combination of individual and situational risk factors may display a more-comprehensive risk profile for the three types of fracture, and an intervention that adds training programs on safe landing strategies and effective compensatory reactions may be valuable in preventing serious injuries due to a fall.

Introduction. Examining the value of quality space is not simple, as we not only need to see the design, but also need to feel it, particularly personal space in libraries. This article aims to examine the quality of space that may affect the user’s personal space. Methodology. This study used a quantitavie approach, purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 100 users at the Office of Library and Archive East Java with certain criteria. Data Analysis. The primary data was converted to interval data by using MSI transformation method and tested by using validity, reliability, simple linear regression and t-test. Results and Discussion. The results show that the quality of space simultaneously have an impact on the users’ personal space, however, the strength of the impact of space quality on personal space is weak. Conculsion. Quality of space that is not ideal may disturb the personal space of library users. This research may become a reference in designing library space based on user needs.

This study examined the situational factors influencing the failure of regular employees working in research and development (R&D) departments in Japanese private-sector companies to transition from follower to project manager, while considering their challenges. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 individuals who were tasked with project management duties. Within the hypothetical model of problems in transitioning to project management duties, which was analyzed using the modified grounded theory approach (M-GTA), the failure to transition successfully to the role of project manager was investigated by considering two concepts. Four situational factors, based on the two aforementioned concepts, were identified as problems causing the transition to project manager to falter or fail. These were 1) insufficient preliminary study of the project’s R&D organization; 2) the project manager’s management support was lacking; 3) the project manager and the manager did not understand project members’ technical abilities, and 4) the promotion criteria for project management were unclear. Motivation at a shopping Centres can be influenced by a pleasant shopping experience caused by other factors such as the role of companion, the shopping environment, and other situational factors. This study aims to determine the effect of co-shoppers, shopping environment, situational factors on shopping motivation through shopping experience in Jember Shopping Centres in the Covid-19 pandemic era. The population in this study are consumers who shop in all shopping Centres in Jember. The research sample is 125 respondents who are deemed sufficient to meet the requirements of the PLS analysis method of this study with purposive sampling methods. The results showed that the coshopper had no significant effect on the shopping experience; the shopping environment has a significant positive effect on the shopping experience; situational factors have no significant effect on the shopping experience. Co-shopper has a significant positive effect on shopping motivation. The shopping environment has no significant effect on shopping motivation. Situational factors have a significant positive effect on shopping motivation, and the Shopping Centre’s shopping experience has a significant positive effect on shopping motivation. Shopping Centres managers need to create an attractive and comfortable shopping environment to provide a pleasant shopping experience. Meanwhile, to increase shopping motivation, managers need to consider creating a comfortable atmosphere for coshoppers and creating co-conducive situational factors in increasing consumer shopping motivation in the shopping Centres they lead.

Summary: Situational factors might help explain why most vertebral fractures occur in older people without a previous osteoporosis diagnosis. After adjusting for predisposing risk factors, the activity before the fall, type of fall, and falling direction remained as strong determinants of fall-related vertebral fractures in older men and women. Introduction: A matched case-control study was conducted to investigate the effects of situational factors, in addition to predisposing factors, on clinical vertebral fractures in older men and women in Taiwan. Methods: Cases were community-dwelling individuals aged ≥ 65 years who visited emergency departments (EDs) of two university-affiliated hospitals due to a fall and had a primary diagnosis of a vertebral fracture during a 1-year period in 2017. Five control patients per case, matched by the time of falling, gender, and age, who sought care in the same ED due to a fall resulting in a soft tissue injury were selected. A total of 64 men (age range: 65 ~ 99 years) and 194 women (age range: 65 ~ 100 years), diagnosed with a vertebral fracture, participated in the study. Results: Multivariable logistic models were conducted separately for men and women. Results suggested that the following factors were significantly associated with an increased risk of vertebral fractures in men: a low educational level (adjusted odds ratio [OR] = 1.95; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.02 ~ 3.71), asthma (OR = 2.96; 95% CI, 1.35 ~ 6.92), depression (OR = 4.31; 95% CI, 1.03 ~ 17.5), toileting (OR = 2.30; 95% CI, 1.04 ~ 4.94), slipping (OR = 5.27; 95% CI, 1.80 ~ 15.4), stepping down (OR = 3.99; 95% CI, 1.40 ~ 11.4), sudden leg weakness (OR = 3.73; 95% CI, 1.13 ~ 12.4), and falling backwards (OR = 3.78; 95% CI, 1.83 ~ 7.80); and in women: a fracture history (OR = 2.00; 95% CI, 1.07 ~ 3.76), osteoporosis (OR = 1.94; 95% CI, 1.15 ~ 3.49), getting in/out of the bed/chair (OR = 1.90; 95% CI, 1.07 ~ 3.39), stepping down (OR = 2.10; 95% CI, 1.17 ~ 3.77), and falling backwards (OR = 4.00; 95% CI, 2.39 ~ 6.68) and sideways (OR = 2.61; 95% CI, 1.38 ~ 4.96). Conclusions: The combination of predisposing and situational risk factors may display a more comprehensive risk profile for the occurrence of VFs, and thus, interventions that add both types of risk factors may result in greater risk reduction of VFs, although those specifically targeted at situational risk factors during falls are limited and their effectiveness and efficiency remained to be explored. Scrum is currently the most widely used agile methodology. However, it is regarded as a framework rather than a concrete process. Unfortunately, the resources available on Scrum do not explicitly define its variable parts and do not offer proper guidance on how to resolve those variabilities. Process (re)configuration is thus left to Scrum Retrospective sessions; this can delay the vital decisions that can significantly improve the process before problems arise. This paper aims to address the problems associated with configuring/reconfiguring Scrum by identifying all the variabilities (variation points) in the Scrum framework, along with the situations where a variation point can be resolved by one or more specific variants. We propose a Software Process Line (SPrL) approach for achieving this: we have represented the process variabilities of Scrum as a Scrum metaprocess, which acts as the core process of a generic SPrL for Scrum. The situations in which each variation point of the metaprocess can be resolved by a specific variant have been identified. The metaprocess has been implemented in the Medini-QVT tool, along with transformation rules that provide the means for automatic resolution of the variabilities. The validity of the metaprocess has been evaluated through an industrial case study, the results of which show that the metaprocess is applicable in real situations. Furthermore, the results indicate that the processes instantiated from the metaprocess can improve the existing processes by proposing specific practices for addressing their shortcomings. The aim of the article. The aim of this study is to identify and explore the situational factors, which lead customers to misbehave in service settings. This study is designed to develop a better understanding of different drivers of misbehaviours from situational factors' perspective and examines the relationship of past misbehaviour and future misbehaviour intentions. The results of the analysis. In this study, the conceptual model is outlined. This model comprises five hypotheses between theses constructs: loyalty intentions, severity of misbehaviour, perceived opportunity, perceived risk, past customer misbehaviour and future misbehaviour intentions. Using survey responses from 384 customers of Iranian chain stores, the empirical results offer the support for the forwarded research hypothesis. Structural equation modelling is used to examine these associations. The data suggest that situational factors have impacts on the customer misbehaviour. The results show that the relationships between loyalty intentions, severity of misbehaviour, perceived risk and past misbehaviours are statistically significant. In addition to above hypothesis, the results provide support for the positive association between past customer misbehaviour and future misbehaviour intentions. However, the relationship between perceived opportunity and past misbehaviour is not statistically supported. Thus, utilizing the structural equation modelling to analyze the survey data indicates strong support for 4 of the 5 hypothesized associations. The research findings have the range of key implications for both academia and industry by focusing on the factors associated with both past and future customer misbehaviour. The results of this study outline the point that service manager should be cautious about the episodes of customer misbehaviour and its severity as the mechanism to control or manage the frequency of future occurrences. The findings also highlight the importance of customers to chain stores (by supporting the link of customer loyalty intentions and past misbehavior). In addition, it might be beneficial to train front employees to act peacefully and respectfully toward customers. Conclusions and directions of further researches. The novelty point of this study is to illuminate the impact of situational factors on misbehaviours for the first time based on the background of Iranian culture. As the matter of fact that customer misbehaviour is prevalent in the Iranian chain stores, identifying the related antecedents especially from situation side is on the great center of attention.

In tourism activities, tourists’ responsible environmental behaviors (REB) are the result of human’s interaction with environment. Most past studies about tourists’ REB paid attention to tourists’ individual factors while the influences of situational factors of sightseeing places on tourists’ REB were left out. Environmental interpretations are the significant component and the main situational factor of tourism environment. This research uses the theory of planned behavior; takes the Huangshan Mountain scenic spot in China as the case-study place based on 534 questionnaire survey samples of tourists; and adopts the method of structural equation model-multiple group analysis (SEM-MGA) to explore the moderating role of environmental interpretations in the sightseeing place on the relationship between tourists’ responsible environmental behavioral intentions (REBI) and REB. Results indicate that (1) tourists’ attitudes toward environmental behaviors and subjective norms positively affect their REBI; their perceived behavioral control positively affects their REBI and REB, and their REBI positively affect REB; (2) environmental interpretations in the sightseeing place positively moderate the relationship between tourists’ REBI and REB. Buyer characteristics are a set of psychological, social, personal, and cultural factors which influence purchase decisions. Buyer characteristics lead to the purchase of a product or service, which impacts organization profit maximization and sustainability. Therefore, organizations emphasize building strong relationship with buyers. This has become a marketing priority in the current marketing environment. In airline perspective, the Malaysian low-cost airline industry is a major contributor to the national and global economy. However, the low-cost airline industry is facing purchase decision issues on domestic traveller aspect. Thus, the objective of this research is to investigate the significant relationship between buyer characteristics and purchase decision and to examine whether situational factors act to strengthen purchase decisions. As such, this research focused on how buyer characteristics impact purchase decision. In addition, situational factors as a moderation effect on purchase decision were tested using survey questionnaire. The sample for this research was 200 low-cost Malaysian travellers. The findings of this research revealed that buyer characteristic had a significant relationship with purchase decision and the situational factor moderated to strength the model with 62.5% of prediction.
