Metal hydrides enable excellent thermal energy storage due to their high energy density, extended storage capability, and cost‐effective operation. A metal hydride‐driven storage system couples two reactors that assist in thermochemical storage using cyclic operation. Metal hydride reactors, operating at both low and high temperatures, serve for the storage of hydrogen and thermal energy, respectively. The integration of efficient thermal energy storage technology is known to enhance the efficiency of solar thermal systems. In this regard, during the peak hours of solar energy, the high‐temperature supply heat can be utilized to store hydrogen gas in the low‐temperature reactor, which simultaneously facilitates energy storage in the high‐temperature reactor. Moreover, the temperature and energy released from the reactors are highly dependent on the pressure of the gas. As a result, installing a compressor between the low and high‐temperature metal hydride reactors can help generate additional outputs, such as a cooling effect. This paper conducts a thermodynamic analysis to assess the system's performance, considering parameters such as thermal storage efficiency, coefficient of performance (COP), and COPCCH (combined cooling and heating based COP). Moreover, the performance analysis was carried out for two cases, that is, high‐temperature titanium hydride (TiH2) and magnesium hydride (MgH2). The results show that MgH2 and TiH2 achieve a maximum COPCCH of 1.08 and 0.9, respectively, and system storage efficiency of 76.15% and 74.34%, respectively. In spite of having lower efficiency than MgH2, the TiH2‐based system has the ability to recover heat at a very high temperature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Blood transfusions play a pivotal role in medical care, saving millions of lives annually. The timely provision of safe blood is critical in various clinical scenarios, necessitating a careful balance between supply and demand. Despite advanced blood banking facilities globally, challenges persist in ensuring appropriate blood component utilization, prompting a need for clinical audits and optimization strategies. Aims and Objectives: This study aims to analyze the patterns of blood product utilization in a tertiary care hospital in Madhya Pradesh over 1 year, focusing on transfusion requests, cross-match-to-transfusion (C/T) ratios, transfusion indices (TIs), and indications for transfusions. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at Shyam Shah Medical College from January 01, 2023, to December 31, 2023. Data from transfusion and cross-match requests in various departments were collected. C/T ratios, TI, and non-usage probability were computed to assess blood utilization efficiency. Results: Out of 16,682 crossmatched units, 71.93% were transfused. The overall C/T ratio was 1.39. The department of medicine demonstrated the most efficient blood usage with a C/T ratio of 1.16. Obstetrics and gynecology had the highest TI (1.06), while surgery had the lowest (0.71). Indications for transfusion included anemia (29.9%), pre-operative (17.2%), intraoperative (21.8%), and post-operative (31.1%). Conclusion: This study provides valuable insights into blood utilization patterns, offering a foundation for refining transfusion practices and enhancing the efficiency of blood management in the studied tertiary care hospital. Background: In 2016, International academy of cytology (IAC) has established a standardized approach for reporting breast fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) by categorizing the lesions in five tier system from C1 to C5 to standardize reporting, which will enhance Breast fine-needle aspiration biopsy cytology performance, interpretation, and reporting. Aims and Objectives: The aim of the study was to categorize FNAC cases according to The IAC Yokohama System and evaluate the diagnostic ability of FNAC. Materials and Methods: The current prospective analytical study was carried out in the Department of Pathology, Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, for a period of 15 months from January 2021 to March 2022 (15 months). A total of 100 cases were included in the study based on inclusion criteria. The results were analyzed based on cytological reporting and P value calculated. Results: Among the 100 cases studied highest number of cases were from the age group of 21–30 years with 29% (n=29). The most common breast laterality affected was left with 69% of affected cases. The maximum number of cases, 69% (n=69) of the total, were found to be categorized under the category C2 (benign) which was followed by Category C5 (Malignant) seen in 13% (n=13). About 9% (n=9) of the total cases were categorized as suspicious of malignancy (C4). Atypical Lesion (C3) and Unsatisfactory Lesions (C1) were categorized in 5% (n=5) and 4% (n=4) of the total cases, respectively. Conclusion: FNAC is a minimally invasive, quick, and efficient pre-operative diagnostic tool that can also be used for postoperative breast lump follow-up to prevent recurrences. FNAC using IAC Yokohama system is a rapid and effective method for the primary categorization of palpable breast lumps and provides better clarity to the clinicians in the management of the patient and can reduce unnecessary surgeries. Background: Meningitis is a severe infection affecting the central nervous system requiring early management to prevent debilitating consequences and death. Detection of meningitis can be done by the analysis of cerebrospinal fluid cellularity and biochemistry (glucose and protein concentration). Urine reagent strips can be used to assess these variables and reach to the diagnosis of meningitis early, thereby, reducing the delay in the initiation of its treatment. Aims and Objectives: The current study aimed to determine the efficacy of urine reagent strips for the analysis of CSF. Materials and Methods: The current prospective study was done in a tertiary care center in Rewa, M.P., on 100 cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) samples obtained from the children suspected of meningitis, which were, then, analyzed by both the conventional methods of CSF analysis (including routine biochemical and microscopic analysis) the index test, utilizing the Combur-10 urine reagent strips for the estimation of CSF cell, protein, and glucose. These results were, then, correlated to calculate the diagnostic utility of urine reagent strips for the rapid diagnosis of meningitis. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of urine reagent strips for the detection of cell count >10/cumm were 81.81%, 98.21%, and 91%, respectively, and 78.57%, 81.25%, and 79% for detection of protein >30 mg/dL. Reagent strips showed a sensitivity and specificity of 96.85% and 79.41% for the detection of glucose levels <50 mg/dL. The two methods showed an almost perfect degree of agreement for the detection of leucocytes with Cohen's kappa value of 0.86. Conclusion: Reagent strips can be a helpful bedside screening test for the detection of meningitis and also in resource-limited settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to investigate the effects of the toxicant on the Lotka-Volterra prey-predator system, a mathematical model has been created. Our working hypothesis was that the populations are composed of three distinct parts: prey, healthy predators, and sick predators. We have obtained all of the equilibriums that are even remotely possible with this model, and we have also established the prerequisites for the presence of an inner equilibria point. We investigated the presence of all equilibrium points as well as their local stability. The findings are weighed against the scenario in which the environmental toxicant was not present. There has been some work put into the production of a numerical model to research the impact that an attractive field has on the progression of blood through a slanted different atherosclerotic corridors. It has been concluded that the Casson condition will be utilized to mirror the non-Newtonian nature of blood. Logically and graphically, the impacts of the reaction of attractive field, yield stresses, shape boundary, and tendency of supply route on speed, volumetric stream rate in stenotic segment, and divider shear pressure at the outer layer of stenosis are shown.
