The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse the impact of digital innovations to manage business operations during COVID-19 lockdown. Due to COVID-19, a nation-wide lockdown affected the Indian economy severely as both service and manufacturing organizations were closed for a long duration. Thus, to manage with these challenges and address the expectations of their employees, organizations identified various artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-based digital innovations to continue their business operations during lockdown. The study used a systematic review of literature and document analysis to unravel such innovations that have been initiated and implemented in Indian organizations during COVID-19 lockdown. The study finds that digital innovations and strategies are useful for coping with unseen challenges and also can transform the organizations into smarter ones. This has been a long debate among academicians and experts whether advertising expenses(including marketing, promotion, and brand building expenses) have direct relationship with financial performance of the firm or not. Many experts who believe in the positive relation among these, have opinion that advertising and promotional expenses should belong to long term expenses as they tend to influence company's financial performance. This paper primarily investigates the relationship between advertising expense (advertising and promotional expenses) and financial performance of large listed companies at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). For this a sample of Sensex 30 companies was collected for a period of 3 years (2018-20) and analysed with the help of regression model. The collected samples belong to diversified sector and most of these are market leaders of their respective sectors, Thus, we can also say that this paper successfully captures the relationship of market leading firms as well. On the basis of the findings of the regression models, The Research indicates a strong and positive relationship between advertising expenses and revenues of BSE Sensex 30 companies. Purpose – Sustainability may be defined as a concept that activates the inner sense of individuals, companies and societies to initiate, promote and sustain practices to protect and enhance the human and natural resources needed by future generations to enjoy a quality of life equal to or greater than our own. To translate this vision into action, it takes time, efforts and sincere leadership and managerial commitments towards sustainable global development. Therefore, the role of business schools is critical in generating a work force to cater to such needs. The purpose of this paper is to focus on the top business schools in India which promote sustainability issues, exploring the challenges of incorporating sustainability in the business curriculum and practices developed by leading professors and business schools to address these issues. Design/methodology/approach – A sample of 35 faculty members from 17 leading business schools of India forms the basis of this research. Data were collected through on-line questionnaires, telephone interviews and in-depth exploration of teaching plans and course materials. Findings – The findings highlight the importance of sustainability issues within the business curriculum and the value of integrated case studies which provide a wider perspective to students. Faculty members face serious challenges in the conflict between monetary and sustainability orientations of the curriculum, maintaining students' interest, applying new pedagogical tools effectively, and including considerations of social costs and quality of life. Originality/value – This paper contributes to existing knowledge about the practical challenges of designing and teaching sustainability issues through integrated courses.
