9. Ramanujan-style congruences for prime level

Abstract

We establish Ramanujan-style congruences modulo certain primes $\ell$ between an Eisenstein series of weight $k$, prime level $p$ and a cuspidal newform in the $\varepsilon$-eigenspace of the Atkin-Lehner operator inside the space of cusp forms of weight $k$ for $\Gamma_0(p)$. Under a mild assumption, this refines a result of Gaba-Popa. We use these congruences and recent work of Ciolan, Languasco and the third author on Euler-Kronecker constants, to quantify the non-divisibility of the Fourier coefficients involved by $\ell.$ The degree of the number field generated by these coefficients we investigate using recent results on prime factors of shifted prime numbers., Comment: The final version, published in Mathematische Zeitschriften

Abstract

In this paper we first prove an isomorphism between certain spaces of Jacobi forms. Using this isomorphism, we study the mod $p$ theory of Hermitian Jacobi forms over $\mathbb{Q}(i)$. We then apply the mod $p$ theory of Hermitian Jacobi forms to characterize $U(p)$ congruences and to study Ramanujan-type congruences for Hermitian Jacobi forms and Hermitian modular forms of degree $2$ over $\mathbb{Q}(i)$.

Abstract

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease that is caused by the Plasmodium parasite. Most of the available medication are losing their efficacy. Therefore, it is crucial to create fresh leads to combat malaria. Green silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have recently attracted a lot of attention in biomedical research. As a result, green mediated AgNPs from leaves of Terminalia bellirica, a medicinal plant with purported antimalarial effects, were used in this investigation. Initially, cysteine-rich proteins from Plasmodium species were studied in silico as potential therapeutic targets. With docking scores between −9.93 and −11.25 kcal/mol, four leaf constituents of Terminalia bellirica were identified. The green mediated silver nanoparticles were afterward produced using leaf extract and were further examined using UV-vis spectrophotometer, DLS, Zeta potential, FTIR, XRD, and FESEM. The size of synthesized TBL-AgNPs was validated by the FESEM results; the average size of TBL-AgNPs was around 44.05 nm. The zeta potential study also supported green mediated AgNPs stability. Additionally, Plasmodium falciparum (3D7) cultures were used to assess the antimalarial efficacy, and green mediated AgNPs could effectively inhibit the parasitized red blood cells (pRBCs). In conclusion, this novel class of AgNPs may be used as a potential therapeutic replacement for the treatment of malaria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

50. Microbial Induced Biotechnological Processes for Biofuel Production from Waste Organics Conversion.

Abstract

In the current era there are huge quantities of waste organic matter available, creating a big burden to the environment. To address these issues, researchers started to apply effective and microbial induced biotechnological processes that can mitigate these waste matters. In this context, different nature of microbial systems are involved in hydrolysing the waste organic material into fermentable sugar. These can be easily consumed by specific microbial systems like Saccharomyces cerevisiae MTCC 3821 and Clostridium acetobutylicum that produced bioethanol and biobutanol, respectively. Saccharomyces cerevisiae was cultured in specific media and incubated at rotary shaker with 150 rpm at 30°C for 72 to 96 hours. Ethanol concentrations from different waste matters were found in the range of 1.2-1.5 g.L-1. Ethanol synthesis was done by shake flask experiment with addition of glucose (50 g.L-1) to waste organic hydrolyzed solution. Non-glucose media produced less than 3 g.L-1 ethanol but glucose media produced 4.5 g.L-1. Next, Clostridium acetobutylicum was grown in culture media containing waste organics as sole carbon substrate with pH 7 and then was incubated in anaerobic conditions at 35°C for 72 hours, produced butanol (0.7 to 1.25 g.L-1).
