6. Laser based optical interferometer manometer design for primary pressure standard in India

Abstract

The SI unit of pressure, i.e. Pascal is realized with mechanical devices such as ultrasonic interferometer manometers and pressure balances for the pressure range 1 Pa to 100 kPa. Recently, optical interferometer manometers are being used to realize Pascal. Such a realization is mercury-free and environmentally friendly and does not depend on any mechanical motions as in piston gauges and is based on physical constants. It consists of an optical Fabry-Perot cavity as a refractometer and is based on the measurement of the resonant frequency of the cavity using lasers. In this paper, we report the theoretical calculations for such an optical cavity and discuss various parameters for the laser required for developing such a cavity-based refractometer system. 22. Network biomarkers of schizophrenia by graph theoretical investigations of Brain Functional Networks

Abstract

Brain Functional Networks (BFNs), graph theoretical models of brain activity data, provide a systems perspective of complex functional connectivity within the brain. Neurological disorders are known to have basis in abnormal functional activities, that could be captured in terms of network markers. Schizophrenia is a pathological condition characterized with altered brain functional state. We created weighted and binary BFN models of schizophrenia patients as well as healthy subjects starting from fMRI data in an effort to search for network biomarkers of the disease. We investigated 45 topological features of BFNs and their higher order combinations (2 to 8). We find that network features embodying modularity, betweenness, assortativity and edge density emerge as key markers of schizophrenia. Also, features derived from weighted BFNs were observed to be more effective in disease classification as compared to those from binary BFNs. These topological markers may provide insights into mechanisms of functional activity underlying disease phenotype and could further be used for designing algorithms for clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia as well as its early detection., Comment: 9 pages (inclusive of Supplementary Material), 5 figures. 25. Assessing the Impact of Talent Management Practices on Employee Retention in Aligarh's IT Industry

Abstract

Talent management has become increasingly critical for organizations to attract and retain high-performing employees, especially in competitive industries such as information technology (IT). This study aims to assess the impact of talent management practices on employee retention in the IT industry in Aligarh, India. A quantitative research approach was employed, with data collected through a survey of 342 IT professionals working in Aligarh. Factor analysis and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The findings reveal that talent management practices such as employee development, career management, compensation and rewards, and work-life balance have a significant positive impact on employee retention. Performance management was not found to have a significant relationship with retention. The results suggest that IT companies in Aligarh should focus on implementing effective talent management strategies to improve employee retention and gain a competitive advantage. This research contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the role of talent management in retaining employees in the IT domain in an Indian context.

As it is known that wireless communication for mobile network has many application areas like routing services, security services etc. The mobile adhoc network is the wireless network for communication in which the mobile nodes are organized without any centralized administrator. There are many Manet routing protocols like reactive, proactive, hybrid etc. In this paper the reactive Manet routing protocol like DSR is simulated for traffic analysis for 50 mobile nodes for IP traffic flows. Also throughput is analyzed for DSR and ER-DSR protocol. Abstract

Present work describes the preparation of Schiff base ligands named 2‐methoxy‐6‐[(E)‐(1,3‐thiazol‐2‐ylimino) methyl] phenol and its structure and activity comparison with another Schiff base N‐[(E)‐pyridin‐2‐ylmethylidene]‐1,3‐thiazol‐2‐amine. Cu(II) complex of both the ligands were prepared in 2:1 ratio in basic medium. UV‐Vis, FTIR, NMR spectroscopy, and other physicochemical techniques were used for characterization of synthesized compounds. The FTIR spectra of the ligands and their Cu(II) complexes evident the tetra dentate behavior of ligands and indicates the presence of nitrate groups. The geometry of synthesized ligands and complexes was optimized using density functional theory (DFT) with hybrid B3LYP functional. It confirms that the Cu(II) metal surrounded by tetra dentate ligand moiety was coordinated with oxygen atom of one nitrate group with bond lengths of 1.9668 Å for complex 1 and 2.2420 Å and 2.6220 Å for complex 2. Molecular docking study of synthesized molecules was performed against EGFR kinase (PDB:1m17) and tyrosine kinase (PDB:1 t46) molecular targets. The complex 1 has shown maximum inhibition with a binding energy of −10.40 kcal/mol against 1t46 molecular target. Further, ligand and complexes were analyzed by ADMET study, drug likeness, and bioactivity score by using online servers. Since these studies provided very significant results in terms of their binding energy with the target molecules and drug likeness score, time‐dependent in vitro anticancer activity of all compounds was also tested by using MTT assay against SCC4 cancer cell line. Abstract

Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp. is an adaptable, resilient, and nutrient-dense grain legume with qualities that can help agricultural systems become more sustainable in subtropical and tropical regions. Extremes in moisture, temperature, photoperiod, and mineral-related stressors are the most significant that encounter throughout the life cycle. Different stress slows down the plants’ growth by upsetting its typical physiology and morphology. Inefficient conditions can occur sequentially or simultaneously in environments, and plants have evolved defense mechanisms to continue to grow and survive under less-than-ideal edaphic and climatic factors. Although various genotypes of pigeonpea have been identified that are tolerant to heat, drought, and waterlogging, new empirical evidence reveals that genotypic changes have been detected for all of the abiotic stimuli in this crop. Furthermore, to enhance tolerance, breeding techniques or methods such as marker features, including extensive hybridization, double haploids, tissue culture, somaclonal variants, genetic transformation, and marker-assisted breeding, have been employed to lessen the effect of these stressor. These methods help in the development of enhanced germplasm with abiotic stress tolerance and disease resistance, resulting in higher crop quality and production. This chapter focuses on different abiotic stressors and the methods that have been employed to help pigeonpea to overcome environmental constraints.
