With a community-centric approach to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6.1, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) launched in 2019, aims to improve the living standard of rural communities by addressing various issues related to rural drinking water supply system. The literature evaluating rural water supply programs in India is sparse. Emphasizing the large-scale implementation of the mission, we utilized sample survey data and multiple linear regression models to investigate whether or not access to household water tap connections has succeeded in reducing the burden of drinking water collection on women and female children in rural regions. Overall, our findings suggest moderate attainment of JJM even at a very early stage, whereas the positive achievements are reflected in terms of reducing the burden of water collection on women. Further, a higher probability of wealth-related inequity favoring advantaged groups was found in the coverage of household water tap connections both in pre- and initial-JJM period. Our study suggests ground-level strengthening of the rural drinking water supply system for achieving an equitable and sustainable outreach of the program across the country. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

System stability is the utmost requirement for a power system. In order to provide quality power to consumers while maintaining power system stability, Microgrid and FACTS devices are introduced. A smart control strategy is essential for a Microgrid system that automatically controls the MG's operation from non-autonomous to autonomous and vice versa. This research work proposes a similar smart connection between the Grid and the Micro Grid along with GUPFC for system stability and voltage quality after analysing On-Grid and Off-Grid performance of the power system having microgrid under various operating conditions. This article presents a method to design compact rat race couplers with improved bandwidth values. The coupler consists of three coupled‐line sections of different electrical lengths and characteristic impedances. First, design equations are obtained by imposing the coupler conditions using a lossless transmission line model. Input impedance matching, isolation, phase, and amplitude imbalances, all four conditions for both the sum and the difference port excitations are considered for bandwidth calculations. Then, an algorithm is developed to solve for the coupled‐line parameters. Considering the limitations of fabrication, guidelines are provided for selecting the right physical parameters according to bandwidth requirement. As an example, a rat race coupler is fabricated that occupies 10% area of a conventional coupler without compromising the bandwidth values. Measurement results shows that the coupler provides 50% of 15 dB return loss bandwidth, 41.7% of 20 dB isolation bandwidth, 15% of ±5° phase imbalance bandwidth, and 62.5% of ±0.5 dB amplitude imbalance bandwidth which are more than those of a conventional 3λ/2 rat race coupler.
