We investigated the empirical evidence supporting chemical rodent control as a public health program via a systematic search of the scientific databases PubMed and Web of Science, searching with term-strings for the concepts: “rodent control” and “zoonotic disease.” Retrieved results were screened by title and abstract to eliminate studies that (i) do not involve rodents, (ii) do not contain a zoonotic component, and (iii) involve rodents and zoonosis, but no rodent control. The remaining articles were read in full, eliminating studies that lack direct assessment of rodent control effects, with pre-/post-control measures of epidemiological outcomes. Overall, 957 entries were recovered, but only five passed all elimination criteria. Studies were concentrated in Iran, focusing on zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis control. The studies found significant effects on zoonotic incidence post-control, but achieved low scores in quality-of-report assessment. The effectiveness of chemical rodent control as a measure against a zoonotic disease is in its infancy, and more studies are necessary to allow an adequate assessment of the method. It is strongly recommended that future work in the subject should adopt standardized guidelines to report studies.

This is a scope review protocol on Long Covid in Workers. The review question is: "What are the main risk factors, clinical management, and management of workers affected by Long Covid?”.

The concept of information literacy (IL) has evolved since its birth in 1974. This article analyzes the employment of the IL concept within studies in the health sciences. For this purpose, we have used the bibliographic search on Medline/PubMed throughout 1998-2010. Both IL and aspects of IL on texts and questionnaires of selected articles were examined. From 26 studies, four applied the expression IL and 22 applied different terms. The studies that seemed to investigate aspects more tied to the concept of IL had librarians as authors or collaborators. Although the IL term has only been employed in four studies, the intention of investigating IL was implicit on the remaining 22 studies. Since Medline indexes the health science literature, we believe that the authors preferred not to use the term IL or, perhaps, they were not aware of its particular concept. The incorporation of IL into Medline's MeSH vocabulary indicates that IL has been assimilated by the health sciences. El concepto de “information literacy” (IL), o alfabetización informacional (ALFIN), ha sido gradualmente alterado desde su surgimiento en 1974. Este artículo tiene por objetivo analizar el uso del concepto de ALFIN en estudios en el área de salud. El método de trabajo ha sido una investigación bibliográfica en el Medline/PubMed de los años 1998-2010. Se buscó su uso o aspectos de ALFIN en el texto y cuestionarios de los respectivos estudios. De los 26 estudios seleccionados, cuatro emplearan el término IL y otros términos fueron identificados en los demás. Bibliotecarios escribieron los estudios más relacionados con el concepto tradicional de ALFIN o fueron sus colaboradores. Aunque el término ALFIN ha sido usado en pocos trabajos, los demás tenían implícita la intención de investigarlo ese término. Porque Medline se centra en el área de salud, nosotros creemos que los autores han escogido no usar lo término ALFIN teniendo en cuenta el contexto de la publicación o quizá porque, no tenían conocimiento del concepto teórico. Asimismo, su incorporación en el área de ciencias de la salud ya es realidad. O conceito de “information literacy” (IL), competência em informação (CI), vem sendo modificado desde o seu surgimento em 1974. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o uso desse conceito nos estudos da área da saúde. O método utilizado foi o de pesquisa bibliográfica na Medline/PubMed nos anos 1998-2010. Buscou-se o seu emprego e/ou seus aspectos nos textos e questionários dos estudos selecionados. Entre os resultados obtidos, foi possível observar que, em 26 estudos, quatro empregaram a expressão IL e 22 usaram outros termos. Os estudos mais alinhados com esse conceito contaram com bibliotecários como autores ou colaboradores. Embora a expressão IL tenha sido empregada somente em quatro trabalhos, nos outros 22 a intenção de se investigar a CI estava implícita. Como a base Medline é voltado para a área da saúde, acreditamos ser possível que os autores que optaram por não usar a expressão tivessem em vista o contexto da publicação, ou então desconhecessem o conceito teórico. Sua incorporação, entretanto, é realidade nas áreas das ciências da saúde.

Esta temática suscitou com o objetivo averiguar as dificuldades que os iotecários indexadores enfrentam durante o processo de representação temática de teses e dissertações, a partir do uso do vocabulário controlado adotado na biblioteca universitária. Como percurso metodológico, optou-se pela pesquisa descritiva, cujo campo considerou a seleção de 36 universidades brasileiras que integram o ranking de 2019, publicado pela Consultoria Britânica de Educação Superior (The Times Higher Education), o qual arrola as 1.100 melhores universidades do mundo. Dentre estas, após definição de critérios, a populaçãoalvo para aplicação do instrumento de coleta de dados foi representada por 28 bibliotecas universitárias brasileiras públicas federais e estaduais. Como técnica de coleta de dados, utilizou-se o questionário eletrônico, encaminhado via e-mail institucional aos bibliotecários indexadores. Do total de 28 (100%) questionários aplicados, 19 (68%) responderam e 9 (32%) não se pronunciaram. Os resultados obtidos revelaram que nas bibliotecas universitárias que contam com uma política de indexação regulamentada e com vocabulário controlado próprio a queixa dos respondentes que mais se destaca é a dificuldade em traduzir assuntos novos decorrentes das pesquisas científicas, registradas em teses e dissertações. Já nas bibliotecas que não tem política de indexação, nem vocabulário controlado próprio, as dificuldades relatadas pelos bibliotecários indexadores referem-se principalmente à ausência de diretrizes para nortear o processo de indexação. No entanto, os resultados mostraram que mesmo nas bibliotecas que dispõem de vocabulário controlado próprio, há problemas quanto à ausência de especificidade dos termos novos decorrentes das pesquisas científicas. Da mesma forma, nas bibliotecas que utilizam vocabulário controlado construído fora da cultura terminológica dos produtores e pesquisadores das áreas científicas, os indexadores também relataram dificuldades com o uso de linguagens inadequadas na representação temática da informação. Abstract- The thematic treatment of information carried out in university libraries aims to prepare the document for public access through systematic processes of analysis, synthesis and representation. This theme raised with the objective to investigate the difficulties that indexing librarians face during the process of thematic representation of theses and dissertations, from the use of controlled vocabulary adopted in the university library. As a methodological approach, we chose the descriptive research, whose field considered the selection of 36 brazilian universities that are part of the 2019 ranking, published by the British Higher Education Consultancy (The Times Higher Education), which lists the 1,100 best universities in the world. Among these, after defining criteria, the target population for application of the data collection instrument was represented by 28 brazilian federal and state public university libraries. As data collection technique, we used the electronic questionnaire, sent via institutional email to the indexing librarians. Of the 28 (100%) questionnaires applied, 19 (68%) answered and 9 (32%) did not comment. The results obtained revealed that in university libraries that have a regulated indexing policy and their own controlled vocabulary, the respondents' complaint that stands out is the difficulty in translating new subjects arising from scientific research, recorded in theses and dissertations. In libraries that do not have an indexing policy or their own controlled vocabulary, the difficulties reported by indexing librarians mainly refer to the absence of guidelines to guide the indexing process. However, the results showed that even in libraries that have their own controlled vocabulary, there are problems regarding the lack of specificity of new terms arising from scientific research. Similarly, in libraries that use controlled vocabulary built outside the terminological culture of scientific producers and researchers, indexers also reported difficulties with the use of inappropriate languages in the thematic representation of information.
