INTRODUCTION: Our purpose was to assess patients with single digit intraocular pressure (IOP) values and drop-free in primary trabeculectomy after using mitomycin C (MMC augmented with intracamerular bevacizumab). MÉTODOS: Retrospective, observational and comparative study. Charts from patients who underwent trabeculectomy and with IOP ≤9 mmHg at the last follow-up were included. Sub-analysis of patients screened between Oct 2015 and Mar 2019, for inclusion criteria of ≤9 mmHg at last follow-up (24 months). RESULTS: From 110 eyes screened in the initial study, 30 had the intended IOP target (MMC only: 11; MMC+bevacizumab: 19; 26% vs 41%, respectively, odds ratio 1.78, 95% IC (0.80 - 4.89), p=0.178). All these low-IOP patients were drop-free in this moment. No systemic adverse events were found and no vision-threatening complications were recorded. CONCLUSION: Adding intracamerular bevacizumab to MMC in trabeculectomy can be particularly useful in low-target IOP surgeries (such as normal tension glaucoma or very advanced glaucomas) comparing with trabeculectomy with MMC alone., INTRODUCTION: O nosso objetivo foi descrever as características dos doentes submetidos a trabeculectomia com mitomicina C (MMC) e bevacizumab intracamerular que obtiveram valoresde pressão intraocular de apenas um dígito sem recurso a medicação antihipertensora. MÉTODOS: Estudo retrospectivo, observacional e comparativo. Subanálise de doentes que realizaram trabeculectomia com MMC e bevacizumab intracamerular entre Outubro de 2015 e Março de 2019, com critério de inclusão de PIO ≤ 9 mmHg no último follow-up (24 meses). RESULTADOS: Dos 110 olhos presentes no primeiro estudo, 30 obtiveram PIO ≤ 9mmHg aos 24 meses: grupo trabeculectomia com MMC: 11 (26%); grupo trabeculectomia com MCM+bevacizumab: 19 (41%), (odds ratio 1,78, 95% IC (0,80 – 4,89), p=0,178). Nenhum doente estava a realizar medicação antihipertensora. Não foram detectados efeitos adversos sistémicos e a taxa de complicações foi baixa. CONCLUSÃO: Adicionar bevacizumab intracamerular à MMC na trabeculectomia pode ser particularmente útil em cirurgias com PIO-alvo baixas (tal como glaucoma normotensional ou muito avançado), comparando com trabeculectomia apenas com MMC.

The present document describes the HUG project data management plan (DMP), which is neededto specify what data is being processed and to manage how that data will be handled, stored and shared. [Excerpt] International crisis such as global warming, environmental pollution, and e-waste significantly increased the demand of electronic devices powered by renewable and sustainable energy sources [1, 2]. It is known that batteries are key renewable energy sources for powering electronic systems, which suffer from drawbacks like environmental issues, limited life-time, weight, and periodic maintenance or replacement [3]. Therefore, energy harvesting from the most reliable sources such as green energy (solar, wind, biomass, and hydrogen) and mechanical energy (water flow, mechani cal vibrations, and human motions) are inevitable. In our daily life, different forms of energies like thermal, mechanical, and photovoltaic are scattered around or wasted. Thus, commercialization of wasted energy into electrical energy has become imperative to build a clean and sustainable world [4, 5]. Moreover, thermal energy exists everywhere in the form of sun light, wind, human body, etc. [6–8]. For instance, our human body is an indispensable source of thermal energy, and we are simply wasting it without knowing the importance. However, harvesting of electrical energy from thermal energy requires a thermal fluctuation or temperature gradient. For instance, the human respiration and locomotion create fluctuations in the thermal energy and can be converted into electrical energy [7, 8]. The process of generating electrical energy using the temperature gradient is known as pyroelectric effect or pyroelectricity [8]. Besides, the pyroelectric materials can gener ate electrical energy from the temperature fluctuations induced due to small-scale physical changes. These pyroelectric materials that can generate electrical energy using small physical-change induced thermal fluctuation are known as pyroelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). Converting such a feasible energy source to electrical energy using PENGs under ambient conditions is of great impor tance for long-term self-powered energy systems. Coupling together the ferroelectric, pyroelectric, and photovoltaic characteristics within a single material is a novel way to improve the performance of photodetectors. In this work, we take advantage of the triple multifunctionality shown by 0.5Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3–0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (BCZT), as demonstrated in an Al/Si/SiOx/BCZT/ITO thin-film device. The Si/SiOx acts as an n-type layer to form a metal–ferroelectric–insulator–semiconductor heterostructure with the BCZT, and with Al and ITO as electrodes. The photo-response of the device, with excitation from a violet laser (405 nm wavelength), is carefully investigated, and it is shown that the photodetector performance is invariant with the chopper frequency owing to the pyro-phototronic effect, which corresponds to the coupling together of the pyroelectric and photovoltaic responses. However, the photodetector performance was significantly better than that of the devices operating based only on the pyro-phototronic effect by a factor of 4, due to the presence of ferroelectricity in the system. Thus, after a poling voltage of −15 V, for a laser power density of 230 mW/cm2 and at a chopper frequency of 400 Hz, optimized responsivity, detectivity, and sensitivity values of 13.1 mA/W, 1.7 × 1010 Jones, and 26.9, respectively, are achieved. Furthermore, ultrafast rise and fall times of 2.4 and 1.5 µs, respectively, are obtained, which are 35,000 and 36,000 times faster rise and fall responses, respectively, than previous reports of devices with the ferro–pyro–phototronic effect. Rhombohedral phase HfxZr1-xO2 (HZO, x from 0 to 1) films are promising for achieving robust ferroelectric polarisation without the need for an initial wake-up pre-cycling, as is normally the case for the more commonly studied orthorhombic phase. However, a large spontaneous polarisation observed in rhombohedral films is not fully understood, and there are also large discrepancies between experimental and theoretical predictions. In this work, in rhombohedral ZrO2 thin films, we show that oxygen vacancies are not only a key factor for stabilizing the phase, but they are also a source of ferroelectric polarisation in the films. This is shown experimentally through the investigation of the structural properties, chemical composition and the ferroelectric properties of the films before and after an annealing at moderate temperature (400 °C) in an oxygen environment to reduce the VO concentration compared. The experimental work is supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations which show that the rhombohedral phase is the most stable one in highly oxygen defective ZrO2 films. The DFT calculations also show that VO contribute to the ferroelectric polarisation. In this work, we have investigated the structure, morphology, photoluminescence, photocatalytic and photocurrent properties of ZnO thin films as a function of their film thickness (tZnO) fabricated via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. The X-Ray diffraction patterns exhibited the formation of polycrystalline wurtzite phase of ZnO. Scanning electron microscopy images showed the uniform morphology with nanorod structure. The photosensitivity and photocatalytic efficiency are found to be optimum at tZnO = 1200 nm and are attributed to the improved photogeneration of charge carriers and higher concentration of oxygen vacancies. A direct correlation is established between the photosensitivity and photodegradation process. The incident photon-to-electron conversion efficiency (IPCE) and photocatalytic efficiency for the ZnO film at tZnO = 1200 nm are estimated to be 31.5% and 100% respectively. Scientific researches are at the inception of flexible energy devices and ferroelectric (FE) materials mark their signature in the process. Particularly, devices based on inorganic FE (IFE) materials find a remarkable role in the flexible energy devices such as energy harvesters, infrared (IR) sensors, and energy storage capacitors because the latest technologies are particularly concentrated on self-powered flexible sensors and energy harvesters for a sustainable world. Moreover, the combination of IFE with organic/ inorganic polymers in flexible devices seem to satisfy the requirement of high mechanical strength, piezoelectric coefficient, pyroelectric coefficient, and energy storage properties essential for harvesting, sensing, and storing applications, respectively. In this review article, a systematic analysis of the flexible IFE based energy materials are presented. Starting with a brief introduction about the energy generation in dielectric materials, followed by the importance of IFEs, and the current state-of-the-art of IFE based flexible materials in harvesting energy, IR sensing, and storing energy capacity are discussed. RESUMO Fundamentos: A imunoterapia a veneno de himenópteros (VIT) é eficaz na prevenção de reações graves a picadas destes insetos. Existem diferentes protocolos, sendo os ultra-rush (UR) os mais rápidos. No entanto, permanecem dúvidas sobre a sua segurança e fatores de risco envolvidos em reações adversas (RA). Objetivo: Avaliar a segurança e fatores de risco para RA a VIT segundo protocolo UR. Métodos: Análise retrospetiva de doentes tratados com VIT segundo protocolo UR para abelha, vespa, polistes (2010-2019). Foram avaliadas a segurança e os fatores de risco para RA. Resultados: Incluídos 82 doentes: 77% homens, mediana de idade de 46 anos (8-76). Na fase de iniciação, RA sistémicas ocorreram em 13% dos doentes (n=11), em 91% com VIT a abelha. As RA sistémicas foram em 36% ligeiras, 64% moderadas. Em 3 destes doentes foi iniciado pré-tratamento com omalizumab, com posterior tolerância da pauta. RA locais exuberantes ocorreram em 17%. Houve associação entre VIT a abelha e ocorrência de RA sistémicas (p=0,003). Os níveis de IgE para abelha foram significativamente mais elevados no grupo dos doentes com RA sistémicas (p=0,027). Não houve associação com o género, reação inicial à picada, atopia, uso de IECA ou β-bloqueadores. Não houve diferença estatisticamente significativa com idade, IgE total, restantes IgE específicas, triptase basal ou concentração de positividade dos testes cutâneos. Conclusão: As RA sistémicas na iniciação foram sobretudo locais e/ou sistémicas ligeiras/moderadas, com boa resposta ao tratamento instituído. O pré-tratamento com omalizumab foi eficaz nos doentes com RA sistémicas de maior gravidade, permitindo que a dose de manutenção fosse tolerada, sem intercorrências de relevo. A VIT de abelha e níveis mais elevados de IgE específica a abelha correlacionaram-se com RA sistémicas. Na sua presença sugere-se ponderação do risco, com eventual pré-tratamento com omalizumab.
