Abstract

In this paper, we present the results of the first beam tests of the detection system at the focal plane of the Dubna Gas-Filled Recoil Separator-2 (DGFRS-2), which receives beams from the DC-280 FLNR cyclotron. The high beam intensity of $^{48}$Ca$^{+10}$ heavy ions from the cyclotron enables us to obtain a number of superheavy recoils sufficient to compare both the measured and calculated spectra of superheavy recoils implanted into a silicon detector. A real-time algorithm to search for an Evaporation Residue (ER) -- $\alpha$ correlated sequences is described in brief. It should be noted that the DGFRS-2 spectrometer operates in conjunction with the 48x128 strip DSSD (Double-sided Silicon Strip Detector; 48x226 mm2) detector and a low-pressure pentane-filled gaseous detector (1.2 Torr; 80x230 mm$^2$). A block-diagram of the spectrometer and the event format are also presented. Special attention is paid to the response of a low-pressure pentane-filled DeltaE multiwire proportional chamber for recoils of Fl, synthesized in the $^{242}$Pu+$^{48}$Ca $\to$ $^{287}$Fl +3n complete fusion nuclear reaction. Some actual parameters of the detection system have also been extracted from $^{\rm nat}$Yb + $^{48}$Ca, $^{232}$Th + $^{48}$Ca, $^{243}$Am + $^{48}$Ca, $^{238}$U + $^{48}$Ca reactions. 28. Two-hole problem in the t-J model: A canonical transformation approach

Abstract

The t-J model in the spinless-fermion representation is studied. An effective Hamiltonian for the quasiparticles is derived using canonical transformation approach. It is shown that the rather simple form of the transformation generator allows to take into account effect of hole interaction with the short-range spin waves and to describe the single-hole groundstate. Obtained results are very close to ones of the self-consistent Born approximation. Further accounting for the long-range spin-wave interaction is possible on the perturbative basis. Both spin-wave exchange and an effective interaction due to minimization of the number of broken antiferromagnetic bonds are included in the effective quasiparticle interaction. Two-hole bound state problem is solved using Bethe-Salpeter equation. The only d-wave bound state is found to exist in the region of 1< (t/J) <5. Combined effect of the pairing interactions of both types is important to its formation. Abstract

A microscopically based Hamiltonian of the generalized $t$-$t^\prime$-$J$ model is presented. Two types of the additional $t^\prime$-terms are discussed. The set of ranges of the additional $t^\prime$-terms for the real CuO$_2$ planes is derived from the three-band model calculations. Using the variational spin-polaron approach the single-carrier dispersions in the generalized $t$-$t^\prime$-$J$ model are calculated both for the hole- and electron-doped systems. Hole and electron band minima are found to be at points $(0,\pm\pi)$, $(\pm\pi,0)$, and $(\pm\pi/2,\pm\pi/2)$, respectively. The band minima shifts $|\Delta_{(0,\pi)-(\pi/2,\pi/2)}|$ are not small ($\sim J$). Bandwidths for both cases of doping are found to be $1.5-4.5$ times larger than the t-J model ones., Comment: 10 pages, RevTeX. 6 postscript figures are appended

Abstract

Dispersion relation for the CuO$_2$ hole is calculated basing on the {\it generalized} $t$-$t^{\prime}$-$J$ model, recently derived from the three-band one. Numerical ranges for all model parameters, $t/J=2.4..2.7$, $t^{\prime}/t = 0..-0.25$, $t^{\prime\prime}/t=0.1..0.15$, and three-site terms $2t_N\sim t_S\sim J/4$, have been strongly justified previously. Physical reasons for their values are also discussed. Self-consistent Born approximation is used for the calculation of the hole dispersion. An excellent agreement between calculated $E_{\bf k}$ and one obtained from the angle-resolved photoemission experiments is found., Comment: 3 pages, 2 figures, misprints corrected, wrong figure 2 replaced

Abstract

The mechanochemical fluorination of naproxen and its salts (Li, Na, and K) with 1-(chloromethyl)-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate) (Selectfluor, F–TEDA–BF4) was studied. The reaction of naproxen with an excess of Selectfluor gives 2-(5,5-difluoro-6-oxo-5,6-dihydronaphthalen-2-yl)propionic acid in high yield. Small additives of Al2O3, SiO2, M2CO3 (M = Na, K, Rb, Cs), ionic liquids (ILs), crown ethers, and N-bases accelerate the reaction of naproxen with Selectfluor and increases the monofluorination/difluorination product ratio. Abstract

Experiments on the synthesis of isotopes of element 114 in the 242Pu + 48Ca reaction were carried out at a new gas-filled separator DGFRS-2 online to the DC-280 cyclotron of the Superheavy Element Factory at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The decay properties of 286Fl and 287Fl, as well as their α-decay products, were refined. The possibility of the existence of isomeric states in successive α-decays of 287Fl is discussed. Abstract

We presented the results of the series of experiments on the synthesis of Mc isotopes in the 243Am + 48Ca reaction performed at the new separator DGFRS-2 and cyclotron DC280 of the SHE Factory at FLNR JINR. There were registered 110 new 288Mc decay chains, 10 289Mc chains, and 4 287Mc chains. Alpha decay of 268Db with an energy of 7.6–8.0 MeV, half-life h and α-branch % was registered for the first time together with a new spontaneously fissioning isotope 264Lr with a half-life of h The measured cross section of the 243Am(48Ca, 3n)288Mc reaction was pb, which is the largest for known superheavy nuclei. A new isotope 286Mc was synthesized with a half-life of 20 ms and an α-particle energy of 10.71 ± 0.02 MeV. Spontaneous fission of 279Rg was first observed in one of the four new decay chains of 287Mc. The reaction excitation function was measured at six 48Ca energies in the range of 239–259 MeV, which led to the first observation of the 5n channel with a cross section of 0.5 pb. The decay properties of 20 previously known isotopes have been determined with higher accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
