Manufacturers of rubber and plastics use mold release agents to help separate the material from the mold. Various polytetrafluoroethylene semi-permanent release agents were tested, and regression analysis was used to compare the performance data. A scanning electron microscope was also used to observe the number of releases achieved under certain conditions. The testing method helped in the selection of suitable release agents for each application., A new technique for evaluating the performance of semi-permanent release agents has been developed. The test is simple to perform and results are easy to interpret. This approach provides repeatable [...]
