Introduction: Diagnosing and performing timely treatment for lung diseases is crucial for saving patients' lives. This study aims to investigate the effect of online gamification on nursing students' learning of lung diseases, lung sounds, and self-efficacy. Material & Methods: This semi-experimental study involved 68 sixth-semester nursing students, selected through convenient sampling and randomly allocated to control and intervention groups using dice throws. Over three weekly sessions, the intervention group received training on lung diseases and lung sounds via the Storyline platform and gamification through Kahoot, while the control group received the same content through lectures by the same instructor. Questionnaires assessing demographics, learning outcomes, and self-efficacy were administered before and two weeks after the intervention. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, independent t-tests, paired t-tests, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests in SPSS v.16, with a significance level of 0.05. Results: The participants had a mean age of 22.73 ± 1.29 years, and 63% were male. There were no significant differences between the two groups in learning assessment and self-efficacy before the intervention (P=0.193 and P=0.167, respectively). After the intervention, the intervention group showed a statistically significant improvement in learning assessment scores (P=0.031, 16.55±2.57) compared to the control group (P=0.086, 9.11±1.01). Similarly, self-efficacy scores in the intervention group (P=0.023, 65.29±3.97) were significantly higher than in the control group (P=0.084, 48.18±5.36). Objective(s): Knowledge about self-care behaviors and compliance with them in patients with chronic diseases is very important. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the behavior of patients with cardiac insufficiency through transcriptase and meta-analytic methods in Iran. Methods: Electronic databases including Magiran Iran medex, Scopus, Pub Med, Cochrane, Web of Science were searched using the keywords self-care, self-care index, and self-care components (self-care maintenance, self-care management and self-care confidence) between 2009 and 2018. To investigate heterogeneity, I² was used. Results: A total of 23 studies were entered into the final analysis. The mean score (CI 95%) of self-care behaviors was 34.33 (33.49-35.18). The meta-regression findings showed that in the studies conducted in recent years, the average score of self-care behavior of patients with heart failure increased, but this value decreased significantly in studies with large sample sizes. Conclusion: Considering the importance of self-care in the prevention and control of the disease, it is recommended to increase self-care behaviors among patients with heart failure. Introduction: Effective performance in online education increasingly impacts the quality of classes and, consequently, student learning outcomes. This study aims to compare satisfaction levels and learning rates between online and face-to-face methods of teaching medical physiology. Material & Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study involved 79 medical students divided into two groups. The first group received instruction on heart physiology (5 weeks, one session per week) online via the Navid system, while the second group received face-to-face instruction. At the study's conclusion, both groups underwent the same test to assess learning outcomes, and satisfaction with the teaching methods was evaluated through a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Stata 14 statistical software, employing logistic regression and linear regression models. Results: The two groups differed in terms of the course studied, student nativeness, and satisfaction levels with the educational method. Satisfaction with online education was reported at 69%, compared to 65% for the face-to-face method. The average learning score for students in the online group was 12.93±0.12, while in the face-to-face group, it was 13.48±0.47. However, the linear regression model revealed no significant relationship between students' scores and specific educational methods (p=0.32). Significant relationships were observed between age, nativeness, and dormitory accommodation with satisfaction levels in online education. Conversely, none of the variables showed a significant relationship with satisfaction levels in face-to-face education. Conclusion: Both e-learning and face-to-face methods demonstrated relatively similar effects on students' learning outcomes. However, satisfaction levels with online education appear to be influenced by variables such as age, nativeness, and dormitory accommodation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is an effective and relatively safe method for crushing urinary tract stones Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of running on treadmill and rope jumping exercises on the excretion of mass-like urinary stones following ESWL in the patients referred to the Asia clinic in the city of Ilam. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study. The subjects were selected by the convenience sampling method and randomly divided into three groups, including control, treadmill running, and rope jumping (n = 50 per group). Data were collected by a questionnaire to record the sonographic characteristics of the stones before and after lithotripsy and analyzed by SPSS software version 24 using Chi-square, unpaired t-test, and one-way ANOVA at the significance level of 5%. Benieman-Hashberg method was used to correct multiple comparisons. Results: There was a significant difference in the number of excreted stones comparing the control, treadmill running, and rope jumping groups (F = 8.851, P = 0.002). There were significant differences between the control and both treadmill running (P = 0.038) and rope jumping (P = 0.002) groups regarding the rate of stone excretion. However, there was no significant difference between the treadmill running and rope jumping groups regarding the rate of stone excretion (P = 0.293). Conclusions: Rope jumping and treadmill running exercises can help to better and faster expel kidney stones, depending on their location, after lithotripsy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of herbal drugs and Non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs on the primary dysmenorrhea, but their results have been different. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of herbal drugs and NSAIDon the primary dysmenorrheausing meta-analysis method. A literature search was conducted in Scopus, Pub med, and Google scholar databases from 1996 to December 2016 in English and Persian languages using the search keywordsof primary dysmenorrhea combined with herbal and NSAID. The random effect model was adoptedto combine the results of the studies, and I2 index was used to check heterogeneity. One hundred and ninety-nine studies were obtained, and after reading the abstracts, 21 articles were included in the study. The total number of samples was 2041 people. The standard mean difference(SMD)betweenherbal drugs and Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the pain reduction in the first intervention was estimated atSMD= 0.2(95%CI:(-0.340.74), z=0.73, p=0.463), and in second intervention it was SMD=-0.59(95%CI: (-1.650.47),Z=1.09 and p=0.278). also, the SMD for the duration of menstrual variable SMD=0.18(95%CI:(0.02 0.34), z=2.20, p=0.027) in favor of NSAID drugs and interval cycle of menstrual variable was SMD=0.07(95%CI:(-0.140.28), z=0.68, p=0.496). Mean difference of pain intensity reduced relatively better by administering herbal medicines, which is supported by the majority of studies, and the herbal drugs were found to be more effective than the NSAIDs drugs. Finally, given the many side effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, herbal drugs can be used at the standard dosageand considering the side effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
