A novel tris (thiourea) potassium barium sulphate (TTPBS) complex has been synthesized and the complex formation was confirmed by means of spectroscopic analysis. The TTPBS single crystal has been grown by most commercial slow solvent evaporation method. The single crystal X-ray diffraction technique has been employed to confirm the crystal structure and unit cell dimensions of TTPBS crystal. The functional groups of grown crystal have been identified by means of Fourier transform infrared analysis. The constituent elements of title crystal have been determined by means of EDS technique. In UV-visible studies the TTPBS crystal has been testified within 200-900 nm to examine the optical transparency and determine the optical band gap. The frequency conversion efficiency of TTPBS crystal has been assessed by means of Kurtz-Perry test. He-Ne laser assisted Z-scan technique has been employed to ascertain the third order nonlinear optical (TONLO) refraction and absorption effect in TTPBS crystal. The magnitude of TONLO refractive index (n 2), absorption coefficient (β) and susceptibility (χ3) of title crystal has been illustrated using the Z-scan data. The Nd:YAG laser facilitated surface damage threshold of TTPBS crystal has been determined and it is found to be in MW/cm2 range. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The 34 × 10 × 06 mm3 bulk single crystal of bis-thiourea zinc chloride (BTZC) doped potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) material has been grown from solution evaporation growth technique. The color centered photoluminescence nature of grown crystal has been investigated in visible region of interest. The He-Ne laser assisted Z-scan analysis has been carried out to explore the promising third order nonlinear optical behavior of BTZC-KDP crystal. The origin of nonlinear refraction (n 2), the absorption coefficient (β) and susceptibility (χ3) has been discussed and their respective magnitudes have been determined using the Z-scan transmittance data. The high magnitude of laser damage threshold (GW/cm2) of grown crystal has been determined using the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. The influence of increasing temperature on dielectric constant and dielectric loss of pure and BTZC doped KDP crystal has been comparatively investigated. In the present study, pure and -cystine (LC) doped zinc thiourea sulphate (ZTS) crystals have been grown by slow evaporation solution technique at ambient temperature. The powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis has been carried out to identify the shifts in peak positions and structural parameters of grown crystals. The incorporation of LC in ZTS crystal has been qualitatively analyzed by means of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic study. In UV-visible studies, the influence of LC on optical transparency, bandgap and various optical constants of ZTS crystal have been investigated to explore various optical applications. The thermal stability of LC doped ZTS crystal has been determined by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. The hardness behavior and hardness number of grown crystals have been comparatively evaluated by employing the Vicker's microhardness test. The dielectric study of pure and LC doped ZTS crystal has been carried out at different temperature. In present studies, l-arginine doped zinc thiourea chloride (LAZTC) crystal has been grown by slow solution evaporation technique. The cell parameters of LAZTC crystal were determined using the single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The incorporation of l-arginine in ZTC has been confirmed by means of Fourier transform infrared analysis. The high optical transparency of the grown crystal has been examined under the UV-visible study. The wide optical band gap of LAZTC crystal is found to be 5·25 eV. The photoluminescence study of grown crystal has been investigated in the range of 300 to 700 nm. The negative photoconducting nature of LAZTC crystal has been investigated by means of photoconductivity studies. Thermal stability of LAZTC crystal was evaluated by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis. The dielectric measurements confirmed the lower dielectric characteristics of LAZTC crystal.
