As the global energy demand continues to rise, there is an urgent need to improve the efficiency and sustainability of power generation systems. This study integrated a modified supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) and multi-effect desalination (MED) units to recover residual heat from a gas turbine cycle (GTC) in two stages, significantly enhancing electricity production while reducing the environmental footprint of the GTC. The significance of this study lies in its comprehensive approach, combining thermodynamic, environmental, and thermoeconomic analyses alongside thorough sensitivity evaluations. A triple optimization framework was implemented to optimize the system's performance, focusing on key metrics such as exergy efficiency, CO2 reduction rates, and levelized energy cost, utilizing the NSGA-II and the TOPSIS decision-making method in MATLAB software. Economic viability was assessed through a net present value (NPV) analysis, demonstrating substantial profitability. Finally, a comparison study of the devised system CO2 emissions rate was performed for different renewable energy sources. A specific application of the devised system is its capacity to generate 1.415 m³/h of distilled water while generating 1441 kW of electricity. Sensitivity analysis identified the combustion chamber temperature as the most critical design parameter, with a sensitivity index of 0.328. The optimum economic indicators showed marked improvement, with the NPV increasing from 2.371 M$ to 10.75 M$ and the payback period decreasing from 13.28 years to 7.18 years.

Besides, the significance of bioconvection aspect can be noticed in numerous micro-heating cylinders and bio-microsystems comprising micro-reactors which are utilized in biotechnology for enzyme bio-sensors, mass transportation etc. Such significance of nanofluids together with bioconvection aspect motivate us to investigate the couple-stress laminar flow based on Buongiorno's model of nanofluids. Stretchable magnetized surface with suction/injection and thermal radiation creates the convected flow. Energy expression encompasses heat sink and source aspects. Mass transfer captures chemical reaction effects. The novel bioconvection phenomenon based on gyrotactic microorganisms is introduced. The governing systems representing the rheological expressions of couple-stress liquid are simplified and rendered to the ordinary ones under transformation procedure. The well-known computational scheme (i.e., HAM (homotopy analysis method)) is employed to obtain the convergent solutions. Besides, the analysis of dimensionless quantities is elaborated via graphs. The analytical results computed via homotopy algorithm are compared with alternate numerical algorithm and found reasonably consistent with numerical results. Besides, it is witnessed that increasing radiation factor, solutal Biot number, chemical reaction factor, microorganisms concentration difference and bioconvective Schmidt number yields higher heat-mass-microorganisms transference rates respectively while heat-transference dwindles when thermal source factor is augmented.

The present study is to highlight the significance of viscous dissipation, Joule heating and magnetic field on the stagnation point Darcy-Forchheimer flow of THNF (trihybrid nanofluid) around a spinning sphere containing Oxytactic and gyrotactic microorganisms. The analysis also includes the effects of heat generation and higher-order chemical reaction. A trihybrid nanofluid consisting of water (H2O) as the base fluid and TiO2,Cu and Fe3O4 nanoparticles is used. The Hamilton–Crosser model of trihybrid nanofluid is used in this work to compare their respective performance. This model is applicable to the optimization and design of sophisticated cooling systems where effective heat transfer is necessary, like electronic cooling, nuclear reactors, and high-performance heat exchangers. This model is used in biomedical engineering to comprehend drug delivery systems where exact control over reactions and fluid dynamics is required. Oxytactic microorganisms are important because they help break down contaminants in environmental engineering and wastewater treatment procedures. The fundamental system of the PDEs (partial differential equations) and the pertinent BCs (boundary conditions) have been transformed for computation using a few appropriate transformations. The numerical estimations for the appropriate system of differential equations are derived by employing the shooting approach (Bvp4c). Extensive studies are conducted to examine the effects of pertinent limitations on the rates of heat transfer, mass transfer, density of Oxytactic and gyrotactic microorganisms for both hybrid and trihybrid nanofluid. The current research compares a geothermal-driven combined cooling, heating, and power generation cycle (B–CCHP) and a modified version using turbine bleeding and regeneration process named the TBR-CCHP cycle. These cycles incorporate organic Rankine systems, an ejector cooling system, and a heat pump system. The procedure of this study entails (i) introduction of an innovative CCHP setup, (ii) structural modification of the devised cycle, (iii) evaluation based on thermodynamic laws, (iv) optimization through GA, (v) sensitivity (vi) evaluation of the design parameters, Profitability assessment. The results indicate that the TBR-CCHP system achieves the most significant energy and exergy efficiencies with values of 87.83 % and 70.29 %, respectively. The system demonstrates heating load, cooling load, net electricity production, and total exergy destruction values of 80.38 kW, 24.26 kW, 34.44 kW, and 22.32 kW, respectively. Through optimization using genetic algorithm, improvements in energetic efficiency, exergetic efficiency, and overall energy destruction of 7.93 %, 25.53 %, and 34.83 % are seen in the B–CCHP system, and 7.37 %, 19.87 %, and 33.43 % in the TBR-CCHP system. The study reveals that in the TBR-CCHP system, the compressor is identified as the primary source of irreversibility, with reduced irreversibility during optimization. A comprehensive examination of critical parameters of the cycles indicates the significance of optimizing the generator pressure. Also, the payback period in the modified system is reduced to 6.72 years compared to the base cycle, which has a value of 8.43 years.
