Forty buffaloes in early, mid and late lactation with a drop in a milk production were screened for haematological and blood biochemical profile. In early stage of lactation haemoglobin concentration showed lowered trend as compared to recorded means in other groups of lactating buffaloes. The mean value of TLC in dry pregnant group of buffaloes was 10.05± 0.89 X 103 / cmm showed slightly higher trend than the normal healthy control group. The blood glucose was significantly higher in dry buffaloes (52.72±4.22 mg/dl) than the early and late lactating buffaloes (48.23±3.44 mg/dl). During early stage of lactation the serum total protein values (8.36±0.47 g/dl) was slightly elevated than the normal healthy control (8.00±0.57 g/dl). The urea nitrogen values differ significantly (P<0.05) amongst different groups of lactating buffaloes. The descending trend in the serum cholesterol concentration in dry pregnant buffaloes compared to lactating buffaloes was observed. There was drop in calcium level during early stage of lactation (8.19±0.83 mg/dl) than the normal healthy buffaloes (11.21±0.19 mg/dl). As the stage of lactation progresses the serum calcium level increased. Serum magnesium concentration in various groups of buffaloes did not differ significantly. Early lactation showed highest susceptibility for ketosis and hypocalcaemia. The metabolic disorder associated with hypophosphatemia was significantly high in dry (advance pregnant) buffaloes. Studies on effect of INM (Integrated Nutrent Management) on nodulation, dry matter accumulation and yield of summer groundnut crop conducted during summer 2001-2002 at Navsari . The aim was to evaluate the change in nodulation, dry matter production responsible for difference in yield potential affected due to chemical fertilizer, organic manure and bio fertilizer. There was a linear increase in dry matter production from germination till harvest, whereas in case of nodulation linear increase in root nodule number up to 90 DAS and there after decrease root nodule number. It was observed that nodule number, dry matter plant-1 , pod and haulm yield of groundnut crop increased with application of 100 % RDF (25:50 N and P kg ha-1, 10 t FYM ha-1 and rhizobium or PSB seed inoculation). Sheep from two flocks showed scab lesions around nostrils, eyes and on the face with facial alopecia and thickening of the skin. The case was confirmed as ear mite (Psorcopt ovis) by microscopic examination of skin scrapings. Percent incidence in flock I and Flock II recorded was 12.5, 11.4 respectively. Affected sheep were divided into two groups each containing nine animals. Group I was treated with preparation containing 50ml Azadirachta indica oil, 50ml Pogamia pinnata oil, 25gm Camphor, 50gm Sulphur powder and 500ml coconut oil applied on an affected skin twice a day for 15 days and Group II treated with preparation having 50gm of Curcuma longa rhizome and 25gm of Azadirachta indica oil applied once a day for 15 days. The first preparation was found highly effective against ear mange in sheep.
