The aim of this study was to determine whether the use of gastric acid-suppressive agents increases the risk of nosocomial pneumonia (NP) in the Critical care unit population. The methodology adopted for experimenting with the effectiveness of the use of proton pump inhibitors in two study groups and evaluated the result with the help of APACHE II and CPIS calculator. The researcher performed an experimental study with a non-probability purposive sampling technique in a multi-critical care unit that included 60 critically ill patients from January 2021 to October 2021 at Krishna Hospital, Karad. The researcher divided patients into two groups after initiation of enteral feeding on a random basis, one group of patients with PPI and another group without PPI. Both of the groups were evaluated the risk of suspected HAI with the guidance of medical classification tools, APACHE-II, GCS, and CPIS at the time of admission and followed by consequent times irrespective of their diagnosis and treatment. There was no significant difference between the two groups for any of the scores (P>0.05) indicates very few cases of nosocomial pneumonia in Krishna hospital, Karad. In short, prior use of a proton-pump inhibitor did not correlate with a significant increase in the risk of developing Nosocomial Pneumonia (NP).Apart from Proton Pump Inhibitors, there are a plethora of treatments, nursing care received by critical care patients with various physical illnesses & symptoms. It is also important to treat different pre-disposing and existing clinical conditions because those factors affect the functional outcome of the patient. Further studies are required for more clarification related to correlating the effect of PPIs and early detection of HAI. Widespread use of chemotherapeutic drugs in the treatment of cancer has lead to higher health hazards among employee who handle and administer such drugs. A study to assess the efficacy of a structured teaching program on knowledge about safety measures relating to the handling of chemotherapeutic drugs among nursing staff. The research approach adopted for this study is an evaluative approach. The research design is quasi-experimental design one group pre test and post test design. The study was conducted at tertiary care hospital. The sample size consist of 36. Non probability purposive sampling technique was used to select the respondents. A structured knowledge questionnaire and are used to assess the knowledge and practices of staff nurses who is handling chemotherapeutic drugs. Result-The pre-test data revealed that, majority of the nursing staff in tertiary care hospital 35 (97.22%) had strongly agreed about safe handling of chemotherapeutic drugs, whereas 1 (2.78%) of the nursing staff in tertiary care hospital had agreed and no one 0 (0%) The mean and S.D of knowledge scores obtained before administering learning package was 5.28 and 1.21 respectively, which was increased after administering Planned teaching program to 8.88 and 1.24 respectively. It shows that the knowledge regarding safe handling of chemotherapeutic drugs was increased after planned teaching program. The research design is one-group pre- and post-test quasi-experimental. Karad hospital did the study. 36 people were sampled. Respondents were chosen via non-probability purposive sampling. Those who are close to a person who is suffering from a mental illness are also likely to experience a decline in their own health and quality of life. People who have mental illnesses inflict a significant amount of stress on their family and the people who care for them. This study's objective is to investigate the stresses that are imposed on caregivers as a direct result of their work with patients who are suffering from mental illness. The objective of this study is to put a numerical value on the amount of stress that is endured by individuals who provide care for patients suffering from mental illness. Design and Location: A tertiary care hospital located in the city of Karad; A descriptive survey approach was used; Easy sampling was utilised for data collecting What We Utilized and How We Used It A predetermined 4-point scale consisting of 22 questions was used to assess the levels of stress experienced by one hundred individuals who provided care for patients suffering from mental illness. Only twenty-seven percent (27%) of the caregivers in the sample are coping with light stress, whereas seventy-three percent (73%) of the caregivers in the sample are dealing with moderate stress. Because the levels of stress experienced by caregivers of people with mental illness range from low to moderate, it is important that measures be done to lessen the load they carry. The unconscious patient presents a number of challenges for medical professionals, including rapid care, diagnosis, specialised therapy, and the ability to anticipate prognosis. It is necessary to have a strategy that is both methodical and logical, with an emphasis on working together. Aim and the Objectives: The purpose of this project is to create a video-assisted education programme for the staff nurses working in the intensive care unit so that they may test their knowledge about how to care for unconscious patients. Objectives Prior to the intervention, it is necessary to conduct a knowledge assessment of the staff nurses working in the critical care unit concerning the care of patients who are unconscious. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not the video-assisted education programme improved the knowledge of staff nurses working in the critical care unit about how to care for unconscious patients following the intervention. & The purpose of this study is to determine the association between the knowledge of the staff nurses and certain socio-demographic statistics. Methods and Materials: The sample for the current research was comprised of staff nurses who were employed in the intensive care unit of Krishna Hospital in Karad. In this particular study, the approach of purposive sampling has been applied. The samples are collected in a manner comparable to that of a lottery and are chosen at random according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There were a total of sixty staff nurses that participated in the study. The findings of this study showed that the knowledge score of the nurses who had written the pre-test had been low. According to the findings of this study, the mean score on the pre-test was significantly lower than the score on the post-test. Result: As a result of participating in the video assisted training programme, the nurses in this study saw their post-test scores rise from poor to fair to good. This was one of the findings of the current study. In the current investigation, it was found that the mean score on the pre-test was 15.1, but the mean score on the post-test was high. This difference was significant. When the scores from the pre-test and the post-test were compared, it was clear that there was a substantial improvement in the staff nurses' overall level of knowledge. Therefore, it appears that after implementing the video assisted training programme, a significant impact was given to the improvement in the knowledge score of staff nurses. Introduction: Food safety and food hygiene are important as they ensure that the food you handle and produce is safe for consumption. If food safety and hygiene are not maintained, consumers could become seriously ill with food poisoning and food born illnesses. So food hygiene & food safety are important for protecting the consumer health. Material and Methods: Evaluative approach. Study was conducted in 50 food handlers in Karad city. Using one group pretest post-test design. Non-probability Purposive sampling technique was used. Sample size was 50 food handlers. On 1st day pre test included knowledge of food safety and food hygiene practices through structured questionnaires, effective information booklet was administered followed by post test on 7th day. The data was collected, tabulated and analyzed in terms of using the objective of study was to assess the food safety knowledge and food hygiene practice among food handlers in Karad. Result: In demographic variables found that in gender 50% were female and 50% were male 30-39 yrs of age were maximum samples were tertiary education level 58%, 52% having 1 -5 yr experience 66% were vaccinated and 54.2% food handlers were possessed training certification. The food handlers knowledge related to food safety hygiene in that maximum responses temperature control knowledge was 84%, fresh vegetables 90%, preparation of food 86%, rinsed container & equipment 80% & hand washing steps 84%. So it was increased in post test. The mean posttest knowledge score (31.08+3.02) was higher than the mean pretest knowledge score (16.50+4.40).This indicates the effectiveness of information booklet in increasing the level of knowledge of adolescent girls regarding reproductive health. So study concluded that information booklet was effective method to improve the food safety knowledge & food hygiene practices among the food handlers. Conclusion: Administration of information booklet on food safety & food hygiene practices was effective method for improving the knowledge on food safety & food hygiene practices among the food handlers.
