Objective To optimize a self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) formulation for psoralen and isopsoralen (PSO and IPSO) isolated from Psoraleae Fructus. Methods A D-optimal design was used to investigate the influence of oil percentage, surfactant percentage and cosurfactant percentage on several properties of SEDDS including particle size, polydispersity, equilibrium solubility, in situ intestine absorption rate and intestinal permeability. Furthermore, the desirability function approach was applied to obtain the optimal formulation for the system. Results The oil percentage, surfactant percentage and cosurfactant percentage were optimized to be 53.6%, 35.7% and 10.7%, respectively, which means the model is available. Conclusions The D-optimal design is valuable to optimize the SEDDS formulation and understand formulation compositions’ functions on SEDDS properties.

To study the chemical constituents of the PTP 1B inhibitory effective parts of Paeoniae Rubra Radix.The effective part of Paeoniae Rubra Radix was enriched by Sephadex LH-20. Compounds were isolated by various column chromatography and their structures were elucidated through spectroscopic analysis.Thirteen compounds were identified as: benzoylpaeoniflorin(1), albiflorin(2), paeoniflorigenone(3), methyl gallate(4), adenosine(5),2-amino adenosine(6), 3,3'-Di-O-methylellagic acid(7), 3,3',4-trimethyl ellagic acid(8), dihydrokaempferol(9), glycerol(10), dibutyl phthalate(11).Compounds 5-11 are obtained from this plant for the first time.

To analyse the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of different pathogenesis type cases, severe and common cases of hand, foot and mouth disease.Descriptive epidemic method was used to analyse the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of laboratory-confirmed cases with hand,foot and mouth disease.The epidemiological characteristics 113 cases were the same as epidemic situation at the same time in Anji county. Clinical characteristics were difference in different pathogenesis type cases, severe and common cases of hand, foot and mouth disease.Prevention and control work taken should according to the characteristics of the disease, such as early identification of severe cases, handling and controlling over the outbreaks in order to reduce the severe cases and the death.

Carpesilipskyin 1, a novel coumarin dimer which possesses a unique isopropyl side chain, together with two new sesquiterpene lactones, carabrol isovalerate 2 and 2'-hydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxy-benzoylcarpesiolin 3 have been isolated from the methanol extract of the aerial parts of the title herbal plant followed by structure elucidation on the basis of spectral data.
