Abstract

We present the results of a systematic search of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) 2-min cadence data for new rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars observed during the Cycle 2 phase of its mission. We find seven new roAp stars previously unreported as such and present the analysis of a further 25 roAp stars that are already known. Three of the new stars show multiperiodic pulsations, while all new members are rotationally variable stars, leading to almost 70 per cent (22) of the roAp stars presented being $\alpha^2$ CVn-type variable stars. We show that targeted observations of known chemically peculiar stars are likely to overlook many new roAp stars, and demonstrate that multi-epoch observations are necessary to see pulsational behaviour changes. We find a lack of roAp stars close to the blue edge of the theoretical roAp instability strip, and reaffirm that mode instability is observed more frequently with precise, space-based observations. In addition to the Cycle 2 observations, we analyse TESS data for all known roAp stars. This amounts to 18 further roAp stars observed by TESS. Finally, we list six known roAp stars that TESS is yet to observe. We deduce that the incidence of roAp stars amongst the Ap star population is just 5.5 per cent, raising fundamental questions about the conditions required to excite pulsations in Ap stars. This study develops Eprinomectin (EPR) mixed micelles for transdermal delivery, aiming to enhance efficacy and convenience against endoparasites and ectoparasites. Physicochemical characterization and pharmacokinetic studies were conducted to assess its potential as an effective treatment for parasitic infections.Methods: Blank and EPR mixed micelles were prepared using PEG-40 Hydrogenated castor oil (RH-40) and Nonyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether 40 (NP-40). Critical micelle concentrations (CMC) determined using the pyrene fluorescence probe method. Particle size, EE, DL, in vitro release, permeation, and skin irritation were evaluated. In vivo pharmacokinetic studies were conducted in male Sprague-Dawley rats.Results: Results show that EPR mixed micelles present suitable stability, physicochemical properties, and safety. Moreover, the rapid release and high bioavailability of EPR mixed micelles have also been verified in the study. Pharmacokinetic experiments in vivo showed that an improvement in the transdermal absorption and bioavailability of EPR after encapsulation in mixed micelles formulations.Conclusion: The results proved that the novel mixed micelles are safe and effective and are expected to become a promising veterinary nano-delivery system.Keywords: eprinomectin, mixed micelles, transdermal delivery, pharmacokinetics

In this study, we used deep learning techniques to segment cerebral small vessel disease imaging markers in multimodal magnetic resonance images and analyze them with clinical risk factors.Methods and results: We recruited 211 lacunar stroke patients and 83 control patients. The patients’ cerebral small vessel disease markers were automatically segmented using a V-shaped bottleneck network, and the number and volume were calculated after manual correction. The segmentation results of the V-shaped bottleneck network for white matter hyperintensity and recent small subcortical infarction were in high agreement with the ground truth (DSC> 0.90). In small lesion segmentation, cerebral microbleed (average recall=0.778; average precision=0.758) and perivascular spaces (average recall=0.953; average precision=0.923) were superior to lacunar infarct (average recall=0.339; average precision=0.432) in recall and precision. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age, systolic blood pressure, and total cerebral small vessel disease load score were independent risk factors for lacunar stroke (P< 0.05). Ordered logistic regression analysis showed age was positively correlated with cerebral small vessel disease load score and total cholesterol was negatively correlated with cerebral small vessel disease score (P< 0.05).Conclusion: Lacunar stroke patients exhibited higher cerebral small vessel disease imaging markers, and age, systolic blood pressure, and total cerebral small vessel disease score were independent risk factors for lacunar stroke patients. V-shaped bottleneck network segmentation network based on multimodal deep learning can segment and quantify various cerebral small vessel disease lesions to some extent.Keywords: lacunar stroke, cerebral small vessel disease, imaging markers, deep learning, quantification, image segmentation, clinical risk factors

Abstract

The Gravitational Wave highly energetic Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM) is dedicated to detecting gravitational wave gamma-ray bursts. It is capable of all-sky monitoring over and discovering gamma-ray bursts and new radiation phenomena. GECAM consists of two microsatellites, each equipped with 8 charged particle detectors (CPDs) and 25 gamma-ray detectors (GRDs). The CPD is used to measure charged particles in the space environment, monitor energy and flow intensity changes, and identify between gamma-ray bursts and space charged particle events in conjunction with GRD. CPD uses plastic scintillator as the sensitive material for detection, silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array as the optically readable device, and the inlaid Am-241 radioactive source as the onboard calibration means. Abstract

One month after launching Gravitational wave high-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM), a bright thermonuclear X-ray burst from 4U~0614+09, was observed on January 24, 2021. We report the time-resolved spectroscopy of the burst and a burst oscillation detection at 413 Hz with a fractional amplitude 3.4\% (rms). This coincides with the burst oscillation previously discovered with \textit{Swift}/BAT \citep{Strohmayer2008}, and therefore confirms the spin frequency of this source. This burst is the brightest one in the normal bursts (except the superburst) ever detected from 4U~0614+09, which leads to an upper limit of distance estimation as 3.1 kpc. The folded light curve during the burst oscillation shows a multi-peak structure, which is the first case observed during a single burst oscillation in nonpulsating sources. The multi-peak profile could be due to additional harmonics of the burst oscillation, which is corresponding to several brighter/fainter spots at the stellar surface.

Abstract

The Gravitational Wave Burst High-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM), consists of 2 small satellites that each contain 25 LaBr3 (lanthanum bromide doped with cerium chloride) detectors and 8 plastic scintillator detectors. The detector signals are read out using a silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array. In this study, an acquisition algorithm for in-orbit real-time SiPM array data is designed and implemented, and the output event packet is defined. Finally, the algorithm's efficacy for event acquisition is verified.

Abstract

As the main detector of the GECAM satellite, the calibration of the energy response and detection efficiency of the GRD detector is the main content of the ground-based calibration. The calibration goal requires the calibrated energy points to sample the full energy range (8 keV-2 MeV) as much as possible. The low energy band (8-160 keV) is calibrated with the X-ray beam, while the high energy band (>160 keV) with radioactive sources. This article mainly focuses on the calibration of the energy response and detection efficiency in the 8-160 keV with a refined measurement around the absorption edges of the lanthanum bromide crystal. The GRD performances for different crystal types, data acquisition modes, working modes, and incident positions are also analyzed in detail. Abstract

Background: Each GECAM satellite payload contains 25 gamma-ray detectors (GRDs), which can detect gamma-rays and particles and can roughly localize the Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs). GRD was designed using lanthanum bromide (LaBr3) crystal as the sensitive material with the rear end coupled with silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array for readout. Purpose: In aerospace engineering design of GRD, there are many key points to be studied. In this paper, we present the specific design scheme of GRD, the assembly and the performance test results of detectors. Methods: Based on Monte Carlo simulation and experimental test results, the specific schematic design and assembling process ofGRDwere optimized. After being fully assembled, theGRDswere conducted performance tests by using radioactive source and also conducted random vibration tests. Result and conclusion: The test results show that all satellite-borne GRDs have energy resolution <16% at 59.5 keV, meeting requirements of satellite in scientific performance. The random vibration test shows that GRD can maintain in a stable performance, which meets the requirement of spatial application., Comment: 10 pages, 15 figures

Abstract

The GECAM mission consists of two identical microsatellites (GECAM-A and GECAM-B). Each satellite is equipped with 25 gamma-ray detectors (GRD) and 8 charged particle detectors (CPD). The main scientific objective of the GECAM mission is to detect gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) associated with the gravitational wave events produced by the merging of binary compact stars. After the launch on Dec. 10, 2020 , we carried out a series of on orbit tests. This paper introduces the test results of the GECAM-B satellite. According to the in-flight performance, the energy band for gamma-ray detection of GECAM-B is from about 7 keV to 3.5 MeV. GECAM-B can achieve prompt localization of GRBs. For the first time, GECAM-B realized a quasi-real-time transmission of trigger information using Beidou-3 RDSS. The discovery of gravitational waves and gamma-ray bursts heralds the era of multi-messenger astronomy. With the adoption of two small satellites to achieve the all-sky monitoring of gamma-ray bursts, the gravitational wave high-energy electromagnetic counterpart all-sky monitor (GECAM) possesses a quasi-real-time early warning ability and plays an important role in positioning the sources of gravitational waves and in subsequent observations.

Abstract

The Gravitational wave high-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM) satellite consists of two small satellites. Each GECAM payload contains 25 gamma ray detectors (GRD) and 8 charged particle detectors (CPD). GRD is the main detector which can detect gamma-rays and particles and localize the Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRB),while CPD is used to help GRD to discriminate gamma-ray bursts and charged particle bursts. The GRD makes use of lanthanum bromide (LaBr3) crystal readout by SiPM. As the all available SiPM devices belong to commercial grade, quality assurance tests need to be performed in accordance with the aerospace specifications. In this paper, we present the results of quality assurance tests, especially a detailed mechanism analysis of failed devices during the development of GECAM. This paper also summarizes the application experience of commercial-grade SiPM devices in aerospace payloads, and provides suggestions for forthcoming SiPM space applications., Comment: 13 pages, 23 figures

Here, we evaluated the impact of H101 via exome-sequencing approaches aiming to probe for potential biomarkers that are actionable in the treatment of persistent/recurrent/metastatic (P/R/M) cervical cancer.Methods: Whole exome sequencing (WES) was performd on paired pre- and post-H101 samples from 17 P/R/M cervical cancer patients who received serial intra-tumor injections of H101. Somatic mutations, including high-frequency mutations, microsatellite instability (MSI) status, tumor mutation burden (TMB), clonal evolution, and mutational signature were analyzed.Results: The median follow-up time after the H101 treatment was 14 months. Complete response was achieved in 9 patients, 3 patients achieved partial response, and 2 patients had stable disease, resulting in an objective response rate (ORR) of 70.6% (95% CI: 46.4%-96.7%). WES analysis showed no difference in treatment-related mutation characteristics, including non-synonymous-SNVs and TMB status. Patients with lower TMB were correlated with improved H101 response rates (P=0.044), whereas the same was not evident in high MSI (MSI-H) versus non-MSI-H patients (P=0.528). We observed a few high-frequency mutation genes (TTN, KMT2D, ALDOA, DNAH7, ADAP1, PTPN23, and THEMIS2) that probably carry functional importance in response to H101 treatment, among which KMT2D and ADAP1 mutations were associated with inferior progression-free survival (PFS) and/or overall survival (OS) (P< 0.05). Notably, H101 treatment-induced accumulating subclones or clusters in primary tumors and some (Signature 2) were associated with shorter PFS.Conclusion: We conducted an unprecedented work via a WES-based approach and provided preliminary insights into H101 treatment-induced genetic aberrations in which some genes (TTN, KMT2D, ALDOA, DNAH7, ADAP1, PTPN23, and THEMIS2) could be considered potential therapeutic targets of H101-containing treatment in cervical carcinoma. Abstract

We present the results of a systematic search for new rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars using the 2-min cadence data collected by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) during its Cycle 1 observations. We identify 12 new roAp stars. Amongst these stars we discover the roAp star with the longest pulsation period, another with the shortest rotation period, and six with multiperiodic variability. In addition to these new roAp stars, we present an analysis of 44 known roAp stars observed by TESS during Cycle 1, providing the first high-precision and homogeneous sample of a significant fraction of the known roAp stars. The TESS observations have shown that almost 60 per cent (33) of our sample of stars are multiperiodic, providing excellent cases to test models of roAp pulsations, and from which the most rewarding asteroseismic results can be gleaned. We report four cases of the occurrence of rotationally split frequency multiplets that imply different mode geometries for the same degree modes in the same star. This provides a conundrum in applying the oblique pulsator model to the roAp stars. Finally, we report the discovery of non-linear mode interactions in $\alpha$ Cir (TIC 402546736, HD 128898) around the harmonic of the principal mode -- this is only the second case of such a phenomenon., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS. 38 Pages, 50 Figures, 1 Table, 2 Appendices

This study aimed to assess the clinical efficacy of the combined approach of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC), lenvatinib, and tislelizumab, either with or without transhepatic arterial embolization (TAE), in managing HCC patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) and significant tumor load.Patients and Methods: In this multicenter retrospective study, we analyzed patients diagnosed with primary, unresectable HCC presenting with PVTT and substantial tumor load who had undergone treatment with HAIC, lenvatinib, and tislelizumab, with or without TAE (referred to as the THLP or HLP group), between January 2019 and February 2022 across four medical centers in China. The outcomes included objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), overall survival (OS), and progression-free survival (PFS).Results: The study cohort comprised 100 patients, 50 each in the THLP and HLP groups. The THLP group demonstrated a significantly superior ORR (72% vs 52%, P=0.039). However, both groups exhibited comparable DCR (88% vs 76%, P=0.118), as assessed by the modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumors. The median OS and PFS for the entire cohort were 12.5 months (95% CI, 10.9– 14.8) and 5.0 months (95% CI, 4.2– 5.4), respectively. The THLP group exhibited a significantly extended OS (median, 14.1 vs 11.3 months, P=0.041) and PFS (median, 5.6 vs 4.4 months, P=0.037) in comparison to the HLP group. Abstract

The effects of cluster correlations have been studied in the $^{12}$C + $^{12}$C reaction at 50 MeV/nucleon, using three AMD models, the AMD (AMD/D) without any additional cluster correlations, AMD/D-COALS with nucleon correlations based on a coalescence prescription for light cluster formations with $A\leq4$ and AMD-Cluster with an extended cluster correlation in two-nucleon collision processes and a special treatment for intermediate fragment formation with A $\le 9$. The angular distributions and energy spectra of fragments have been simulated and compared with the available experimental data. It is found that the cluster correlations take a crucial role to describe the productions of light charged particles (LCPs) and intermediate mass fragments (IMFs), and the AMD-cluster studied here provides a consistent overall reproduction of the experimental data. It is also shown that the significant effects of the secondary decay processes are involved for the fragment production besides the dynamical productions in the AMD stage. Detailed LCP and IMF production mechanisms involved in the intermediate energy heavy ion collisions are discussed.

Abstract

The impact of boat traffic on the health of coastal ecosystems is a multi-scale process: from minutes (individual wakes) to days (tidal modulation of sediment transport), to seasons and years (traffic is seasonal). A considerable numerical effort, notwithstanding the value of a boat-by-boat numerical modeling approach, is questionable, because of the practical impossibility of specifying the exact type and navigation characteristics for every boat comprising the traffic at any given time. Here, we propose a statistical-mechanics description of the traffic using a joint probability density of the wake population in some characteristic parameter space. We attempt to answer two basic questions: (1) what is the relevant parameter space and (2) how should a numerical model be tested for a wake population? We describe the linear and nonlinear characteristics of wakes observed in the Florida Intracoastal Waters. Adopting provisionally a two-dimensional parameter space (depth- and length-based Froude numbers) we conduct numerical simulations using the open-source FUNWAVE-TVD Boussinesq model. The model performance is excellent for weakly-dispersive, completely specified wakes (e.g., the analytical linear wakes), and also for the range of Froude numbers observed in the field, or for large container ships generating relatively long waves. The model is challenged by the short waves generated by small, slow boats. However, simulations suggest that the problem is confined to the deeper water domain and linear evolution. Nonlinear wake shoaling, essential for modeling wake-induced sediment transport and wake impact on the environment, is described well.

Abstract

This document summarizes how far the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Coronagraph Instrument (Roman CGI) will go toward demonstrating high-contrast imaging and spectroscopic requirements for potential future exoplanet direct imaging missions, illustrated by the HabEx and LUVOIR concepts. The assessment is made for two levels of assumed CGI performance: (i) current best estimate (CBE) as of August 2020, based on laboratory results and realistic end-to-end simulations with JPL-standard Model Uncertainty Factors (MUFs); (ii) CGI design specifications inherited from Phase B requirements. We find that the predicted performance (CBE) of many CGI subsystems compares favorably with the needs of future missions, despite providing more modest point source detection limits than future missions. This is essentially due to the challenging pupil of the Roman Space Telescope; this pupil pushes the coronagraph masks sensitivities to misalignments to be commensurate with future missions. In particular, CGI will demonstrate active low-order wavefront control and photon counting capabilities at levels of performance either higher than, or comparable to, the needs of future missions., Comment: 10 pages, 3 tables. We established a stable thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy animal model by immunizing 6-week-old female Balb/c mice with recombination hTSHR-A subunit plasmid. After four immunizations, TSG-6 or dexamethasone was injected through the tail vein. The effects of the drugs on body weight, thyroid function, orbital inflammation, fibrosis and lipogenesis were observed.Results: The expression of TSG-6 in the orbital tissues of TAO patient is lower than that of normal people. In our animal model, mice showed weight loss, higher TT4 and TSHR antibody levels, and ocular symptoms such as inflammation and proptosis. TSG-6 can reduce ocular fibrosis and lipogenesis by inhibiting the infiltration of CD3+ T lymphocytes and macrophages in the mouse model of thyroid associated ophthalmopathy. Compared with dexamethasone, TSG-6 showed comparable anti-inflammatory effect, moreover, it has given a better performance in inhibiting adipogenesis.Conclusion: It was demonstrated that TSG-6 has a considerable positive impact on improving eye symptoms of TAO mice, which could be a novel candidate for the early treatment of TAO.Keywords: TAO, TSG-6, hTSHR-A subunit plasmid, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrosis, lipogenesis

The relative expressions of miR-107 (miR-107-3p in mice sharing the same sequence) in the primary airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) of the asthma mice model were tested by RT-qPCR. Cyclin-dependent kinases 6 (Cdk6), a target gene of miR-107, was predicted by algorithms and validated by dual-luciferase reporter assay and Western blot. The roles of miR-107, Cdk6, and protein Retinoblastoma (Rb) in ASMCs were examined by transwell assay and EDU KIT in vitro.Results: The expression of miR-107 was down-regulated in both mild and moderate-severe asthma patients. Intriguingly, the level of miR-107 was also decreased in ASMCs of the asthma mice model. Up-regulating miR-107 suppressed ASMCs’ proliferation by targeting Cdk6 and the phosphorylation level of Rb. Increasing the expression of Cdk6 or suppressing Rb activity abrogated the proliferation inhibition effect of ASMCs induced by miR-107. In addition, miR-107 also inhibits ASMC migration by targeting Cdk6.Conclusion: The expression of miR-107 is down-regulated in serums of asthma patients and ASMCs of asthmatic mice. Abstract

In this paper, we propose a real-time free-running time scale based on four remote hydrogen masers. The clocks in the ensemble were scattered around Beijing, connected by urban fiber links using a novel frequency synchronization system. The remote clock ensemble prevents the time scale from potential problems caused by correlation among co-located clocks. Insofar as it is real-time, it fulfills the requirements for applications such as navigation, telecommunications and so on. The free-running time scale is updated every 1200 s, and a disturbance-resistant algorithm makes it robust to fiber link disturbances and clock malfunctions. The results of a continuous experiment over 224 days are reported. The stability of the time scale outperformed any clock in the ensemble for averaging times of more than approximately 10000 s.

Abstract

The hadronic interaction of cosmic rays with solar atmosphere can produce high energy gamma rays. The gamma-ray luminosity is correlated both with the flux of primary cosmic rays and the intensity of the solar magnetic field. The gamma rays below 200 GeV have been observed by $Fermi$ without any evident energy cutoff. The bright gamma-ray flux above 100 GeV has been detected only during solar minimum. The only available data in TeV range come from the HAWC observations, however outside the solar minimum. The ARGO-YBJ dataset has been used to search for sub-TeV/TeV gamma rays from the Sun during the solar minimum from 2008 to 2010, the same time period covered by the Fermi data. A suitable model containing the Sun shadow, solar disk emission and inverse-Compton emission has been developed, and the chi-square minimization method was used to quantitatively estimate the disk gamma-ray signal. The result shows that no significant gamma-ray signal is detected and upper limits to the gamma-ray flux at 0.3$-$7 TeV are set at 95\% confidence level. In the low energy range these limits are consistent with the extrapolation of the Fermi-LAT measurements taken during solar minimum and are compatible with a softening of the gamma-ray spectrum below 1 TeV. They provide also an experimental upper bound to any solar disk emission at TeV energies. Models of dark matter annihilation via long-lived mediators predicting gamma-ray fluxes > $10^{-7}$ GeV $cm^{-2}$ $s^{-1}$ below 1 TeV are ruled out by the ARGO-YBJ limits.

Abstract

This paper reports on the observation of the sidereal large-scale anisotropy of cosmic rays using data collected by the ARGO-YBJ experiment over 5 years (2008$-$2012). This analysis extends previous work limited to the period from 2008 January to 2009 December,near the minimum of solar activity between cycles 23 and 24.With the new data sample the period of solar cycle 24 from near minimum to maximum is investigated. A new method is used to improve the energy reconstruction, allowing us to cover a much wider energy range, from 4 to 520 TeV. Below 100 TeV, the anisotropy is dominated by two wide regions, the so-called "tail-in" and "loss-cone" features. At higher energies, a dramatic change of the morphology is confirmed. The yearly time dependence of the anisotropy is investigated. Finally, no noticeable variation of cosmic-ray anisotropy with solar activity is observed for a median energy of 7 TeV.

Abstract

A correlation between the secondary cosmic ray flux and the near-earth electric field intensity, measured during thunderstorms, has been found by analyzing the data of the ARGO-YBJ experiment, a full coverage air shower array located at the Yangbajing Cosmic Ray Laboratory (4300 m a. s. l., Tibet, China). The counting rates of showers with different particle multiplicities, have been found to be strongly dependent upon the intensity and polarity of the electric field measured during the course of 15 thunderstorms. In negative electric fields (i.e. accelerating negative charges downwards), the counting rates increase with increasing electric field strength. In positive fields, the rates decrease with field intensity until a certain value of the field EFmin (whose value depends on the event multiplicity), above which the rates begin increasing. By using Monte Carlo simulations, we found that this peculiar behavior can be well described by the presence of an electric field in a layer of thickness of a few hundred meters in the atmosphere above the detector, which accelerates/decelerates the secondary shower particles of opposite charge, modifying the number of particles with energy exceeding the detector threshold. These results, for the first time, give a consistent explanation for the origin of the variation of the electron/positron flux observed for decades by high altitude cosmic ray detectors during thunderstorms., Comment: 17 pages, 11 figures. Abstract

We present PandaX-II constraints on candidate WIMP-nucleon effective interactions involving the nucleon or WIMP spin, including, in addition to standard axial spin-dependent (SD) scattering, various couplings among vector and axial currents, magnetic and electric dipole moments, and tensor interactions. The data set corresponding to a total exposure of 54-ton-days is reanalyzed to determine constraints as a function of the WIMP mass and isospin coupling. We obtain WIMP-nucleon cross section bounds of 1.6×10 −41 cm 2 and 9.0×10 −42 cm 2 (90% c.l.) for neutron-only SD and tensor coupling, respectively, for a mass M WIMP ∼40GeV/c 2 . The SD limits are the best currently available for M WIMP >40GeV/c 2 . We show that PandaX-II has reached a sensitivity sufficient to probe a variety of other candidate spin-dependent interactions at the weak scale.

Abstract

The ARGO-YBJ experiment, a full coverage extensive air shower (EAS) detector located at high altitude (4300 m a.s.l.) in Tibet, China, has smoothly taken data, with very high stability, since November 2007 to the beginning of 2013. The array consisted of a carpet of about 7000 m$^2$ Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) operated in streamer mode and equipped with both digital and analog readout, providing the measurement of particle densities up to few particles per cm$^2$. The unique detector features (full coverage, readout granularity, wide dynamic range, etc) and location (very high altitude) allowed a detailed study of the lateral density profile of charged particles at ground very close to the shower axis and its description by a proper lateral distribution function (LDF). In particular, the information collected in the first 10 m from the shower axis have been shown to provide a very effective tool for the determination of the shower development stage ("age") in the energy range 50 TeV - 10 PeV. The sensitivity of the age parameter to the mass composition of primary Cosmic Rays is also discussed.

Abstract

The ARGO-YBJ detector, located at the Yangbajing Cosmic Ray Laboratory (4300 m a. s. l., Tibet, China), was a full coverage air shower array dedicated to gamma ray astronomy and cosmic ray studies. The wide field of view (~ 2 sr) and high duty cycle (> 86%), made ARGO-YBJ suitable to search for short and unexpected gamma ray emissions like gamma ray bursts (GRBs). Between 2007 November 6 and 2013 February 7, 156 satellite-triggered GRBs (24 of them with known redshift) occurred within the ARGO-YBJ field of view. A search for possible emission associated to these GRBs has been made in the two energy ranges 10-100 GeV and 10-1000 GeV. No significant excess has been found in time coincidence with the satellite detections nor in a time window of one hour after the bursts. Taking into account the EBL absorption, upper limits to the energy fluence at 99% of confidence level have been evaluated,with values ranging from ~ 10-5 erg cm-2 to ~10-1 erg cm-2., Comment: 24pages and 12 figures
