14. A Conic Relaxation Approach for Solving Stackelberg Pricing Game of Electric Vehicle Charging Station Considering Traffic Equilibrium

Abstract

In recent years, the number of electric vehicles (EVs) and fast charging stations has increased rapidly. Generally, self-interested charging station operators in urban transportation networks aim to maximize their profits by optimizing charging price strategies, while EV users aim to minimize their travel costs via routing and charging station choices. The non-cooperative interaction between charging station operators and EV users forms a Stackelberg game. To obtain the optimal pricing of fast charging stations, it is necessary to solve a mathematical program with complementarity constraints, which is non-convex and difficult to solve. In this study, a conic relaxation method is proposed to relax the original problem. If certain dual variables are non-negative, the proposed conic relaxation is exact. Furthermore, if users’ routing choices are more likely to be irrational, or perfectly rational and meanwhile almost all the EV users with the same origin-destination pair choose one same path, then the conic relaxation is more likely to be exact. Under other conditions, a penalty convex concave procedure is employed to obtain an optimal or near-optimal solution to the original problem based on the solution of the relaxed problem. A mathematical proof is provided, and numerical tests verify the efficacy of the method.

Abstract

Here, we report the hierarchical self-assembly of a cationic gemini amphiphile, Azo 1, in a composition gradient solution generated using solvent evaporation. As the gradient solution is formed, Azo 1 forms nanorods in the lower region of the solution. Depending on solvent composition, these nanorods can further develop into nanofibres, which can then intertwine to form double helices and other types of nanohelices in the upper region of the solution. Finally, a macroscopic wire bundle is formed via the fusion of nanohelices; this ribbon-like bundle exhibits elasticity and linear ohmic resistance properties. More intriguingly, this bundle exhibits photoresponsive properties that affect its deformation and conductivity, as well as a rapid electroresponse that affects its conductivity, indicating that it is feasible to control the charge pathway. 36. Surfactant-Assisted Stabilization of Au Colloids on Solids for Heterogeneous Catalysis.

Abstract

The stabilization of surfactant-assisted synthesized colloidal noble metal nanoparticles (NPs, such as Au NPs) on solids is a promising strategy for preparing supported nanocatalysts for heterogeneous catalysis because of their uniform particle sizes, controllable shapes, and tunable compositions. However, surfactant removal to obtain clean surfaces for catalysis through traditional approaches (such as solvent extraction and thermal decomposition) can easily induce the sintering of NPs, greatly hampering their use in synthesis of novel catalysts. Such unwanted surfactants have now been utilized to stabilize NPs on solids by a simple yet efficient thermal annealing strategy. After being annealed in N 2 flow, the surface-bound surfactants are carbonized in situ as sacrificial architectures that form a conformal coating on NPs and assist in creating an enhanced metal-support interaction between NPs and substrate, thus slowing down the Ostwald ripening process during post-oxidative calcination to remove surface covers., (© 2017 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 37. Guest-Induced Breathing Effect in a Flexible Molecular Crystal.

Abstract

By introducing a flexible component into a molecular building block, we present an unprecedented alkyl-decorated flexible crystalline material with a breathing behavior. Its selective adsorption is derived from the breathing effect induced by a guest triggered alkyl transformation. This feature allows the crystal to take up 2.5 mmol g(-1) of chloroform with high adsorption selectivity (CHCl3 /EA >2000 for example), implying a potential application in sorption separation and chemical sensors., (© 2016 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
