This study empirically investigates the impact of climate change on credit risks in rural financial institutions, emphasizing transition risk. We analyzed data from 202 rural financial institutions across, China spanning 2012 to 2020. The empirical findings reveal the following: Firstly, climate change exerts an inverted U‐shaped influence on credit risks in rural financial institutions. Secondly, the inverted U‐shaped relationship is influenced by both the level of digital development and uncertainty in climate policy. Lastly, heightened levels of digital development and increased uncertainty about climate policy can mitigate the negative effects of climate change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

1. Participants will be able to self-report the ability to evaluate whether an older patient with cancer meets various end-of-life outcomes. 2. Participants will be able to self-report the ability to assess discrepancies in end of life outcomes for older patients with cancer between non-minority and minority groups. We performed a retrospective review of 115 patients with cancer ≥ 65 years of age who died at our institution between Jan 2020 and July 2022. We measured timeliness of palliative care consultation, DNR/DNI form completion, receipt of CPR, and ICU utilization. We evaluated differences in these quality measures based on patients' racial/ethnic identity. Palliative care (PC) is associated with better quality of life among patients with cancer and unfortunately still occurs late, often for patients admitted to the hospital at the end-of-life. The objective of this study is to measure the effect of timeliness in PC consults on end-of-life outcomes in hospitalized older adults with cancer. We performed a retrospective review of the electronic health record and included patients with cancer ≥ 65 years of age who died at our institution between Jan 2020 and July 2022. We examined the relationship between the time of initial PC consultation (early defined as ≤half of admission time) and quality measures including the completion of a Do Not Resuscitate/Do Not Intubate (DNR/DNI) form, and receipt of CPR. We then evaluated differences in quality measures and ICU utilization based on patients' racial/ethnic identity. Analyses were conducted using descriptive statistics. Of 115 records analyzed, 102 (89%) had PC consults. 40 (34.7%) identified as White, 21 (18.2%) Black 27 (23.5%) Hispanic, and 27 (23.5%) Other. There was no difference seen in early vs late PC consult for DNR/DNI completion (95% vs 97%) and CPR (5% vs 8%). In comparing White to Black and Hispanic patients, Black+Hispanic patients had a higher rate of PC consult (96% vs 81%), fewer days before a PC consult was placed (mean 7.86 vs 9.06), higher rates of DNR/DNI completion (96% vs 90%), and shorter ICU stays (mean 4.27 vs 6.13 days). Hospitalized older adults with cancer had high rates of PC consultations with no differences seen in code status completion based on timing of consultation. Minoritized patients had higher rates of PC consultations, earlier PC consults and low rates of ICU admissions. Additional research to identify the reasons for these differences are needed to provide more culturally congruent care.
