We investigate the suppression of star formation in galaxy pairs based on the isolated galaxy pair sample derived from the SDSS survey. By comparing the star formation rate between late-type galaxies in galaxy pairs and those in the isolated environment, we detect the signal of star formation suppression in galaxy pairs at $d_p < 100$kpc and $200$kpc$ < d_p < 350$kpc. The occurrence of star formation suppression in these late-type galaxies requires their companion galaxies to have an early-type morphology ($n_s > 2.5$). Star formation suppression in wide galaxy pairs with $200$kpc$ < d_p < 350$kpc mainly occurs in massive late-type galaxies, while in close galaxy pairs with $d_p < 100$kpc, it only appears in late-type galaxies with a massive companion ( $\log M_\star > 11.0$), nearly independent of their own stellar mass. Based on these findings, we infer that star formation suppression in wide galaxy pairs is actually a result of galaxy conformity, while in close galaxy pairs, it stems from the influence of hot circum-galactic medium surrounding companion galaxies., Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ

From the mid-19th century to the end of the 20th century, photographic plates served as the primary detectors for astronomical observations. Astronomical photographic observations in China began in 1901, and over a century, a total of approximately 30,000 astronomical photographic plates have been captured. These historical plates play an irreplaceable role in conducting long-term, time-domain astronomical research. To preserve and explore these valuable original astronomical observational data, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory has organized the transportation of plates taken at night from various stations across the country to the Sheshan Plate Archive for centralized preservation. For the first time, plate information statistics was performed. On this basis, the plates were cleaned and digitally scanned, and finally digitized images were acquired for 29,314 plates. In this study, using Gaia DR2 as the reference star catalog, astrometric processing has been carried out successfully on 15,696 single-exposure plates, including object extraction, stellar identification, and plate model computation. As a result, for long focal length telescopes, such as the 40cm double-tube refractor telescope and the 1.56m reflector telescope at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory and the 1m reflector telescope at the Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, the astrometric accuracy obtained for their plates is approximately 0.1" to 0.3". The distribution of astrometric accuracy for medium and short focal length telescopes ranges from 0.3" to 1.0". The relevant data of this batch of plates, including digitized images and stellar catalog of the plates are archived and released by the National Astronomical Data Center. We use the eROSITA Final Equatorial-Depth Survey (eFEDS) to measure the rest-frame 0.1-2.4 keV band X-ray luminosities of $\sim$ 600,000 DESI groups using two different algorithms in the overlap region of the two observations. These groups span a large redshift range of $0.0 \le z_g \le 1.0$ and group mass range of $10^{10.76}h^{-1}M_{\odot} \le M_h \le 10^{15.0}h^{-1}M_{\odot}$. (1) Using the blind detection pipeline of eFEDS, we find that 10932 X-ray emission peaks can be cross matched with our groups, $\sim 38 \%$ of which have signal-to-noise ratio $\rm{S}/\rm{N} \geq 3$ in X-ray detection. Comparing to the numbers reported in previous studies, this matched sample size is a factor of $\sim 6$ larger. (2) By stacking X-ray maps around groups with similar masses and redshifts, we measure the average X-ray luminosity of groups as a function of halo mass in five redshift bins. We find, in a wide halo mass range, the X-ray luminosity, $L_{\rm X}$, is roughly linearly proportional to $M_{h}$, and is quite independent to the redshift of the groups. (3) We use a Poisson distribution to model the X-ray luminosities obtained using two different algorithms and obtain best-fit $L_{\rm X}=10^{28.46\pm0.03}M_{h}^{1.024\pm0.002}$ and $L_{\rm X}=10^{26.73 \pm 0.04}M_{h}^{1.140 \pm 0.003}$ scaling relations, respectively. The SDSS-IV MaNGA survey has measured two-dimensional maps of emission line velocities for a statistically powerful sample of nearby galaxies. The asymmetric features of these kinematics maps reflect the non-rotational component of a galaxy's internal motion of ionized gas. In this study, we present a catalog of kinematic asymmetry measurement of $H\alpha$ velocity map of a sample of 5353 MaNGA galaxies. Based on this catalog, we find that `special' galaxies (e.g. merging galaxies, barred galaxies, and AGN host galaxies) contain more galaxies with highly asymmetric velocity maps. However, we notice that more than half of galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry in our sample are quite `regular'. For those `regular' galaxies, kinematic asymmetry shows a significant anti-correlation with stellar mass at $\log M_\star < 9.7$, while such a trend becomes very weak at $\log M_\star>9.7$. Moreover, at a given stellar mass, the kinematic asymmetry shows weak correlations with photometric morphology, star formation rate, and environment, while it is independent of HI gas content. We also have quantified the observational effects in the kinematic asymmetry measurement. We find that both the signal-to-noise ratio of $H\alpha$ flux and disk inclination angle contribute to the measures of kinematic asymmetry, while the physical spatial resolution is an irrelevant factor inside the MaNGA redshift coverage., Comment: 19 pages, 12 figures, 3 tables. Green Pea and Blueberry galaxies are well-known for their compact size, low mass, strong emission lines and analogs to high-z Ly{\alpha} emitting galaxies. In this study, 1547 strong [OIII]{\lambda}5007 emission line compact galaxies with 1694 spectra are selected from LAMOST DR9 at the redshift range from 0.0 to 0.59. According to the redshift distribution, these samples can be separated into three groups: Blueberries, Green Peas and Purple Grapes. Optical [MgII]{\lambda}2800 line feature, BPT diagram, multi-wavelength SED fitting, MIR color, and MIR variability are deployed to identify 23 AGN candidates from these samples, which are excluded for the following SFR discussions. We perform the multi-wavelength SED fitting with GALEX UV and WISE MIR data. Color excess from Balmer decrement shows these strong [OIII]{\lambda}5007 emission line compact galaxies are not highly reddened. The stellar mass of the galaxies is obtained by fitting LAMOST calibrated spectra with the emission lines masked. We find that the SFR is increasing with the increase of redshift, while for the sources within the same redshift bin, the SFR increases with mass with a similar slope as the SFMS. These samples have a median metallicity of 12+log(O/H) of 8.10. The metallicity increases with mass, and all the sources are below the mass-metallicity relation. The direct-derived Te-based metallicity from the [OIII]{\lambda}4363 line agrees with the empirical N2-based empirical gas-phase metallicity. We firstly derive the stellar population properties: age and metallicity for $\sim$ 43,000 low redshift galaxies in the seventh data release (DR7) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) survey, which have no spectroscopic observations in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS). We employ a fitting procedure based on the small-scale features of galaxy spectra so as to avoid possible biases from the uncertain flux calibration of the LAMOST spectroscopy. We show that our algorithm can successfully recover the average age and metallicity of the stellar populations of galaxies down to signal-to-noise$\geq$5 through testing on both mock galaxies and real galaxies comprising LAMOST and their SDSS counterparts. We provide a catalogue of the age and metallicity for $\sim$ 43,000 LAMOST galaxies online. The interaction between galaxies is believed to be the main origin of the peculiarities of galaxies, which disturbs not only the morphology but also their kinematics. These disturbed and asymmetric features are the indicators of galaxy interaction. We study the velocity field of the ionized gas of the paired galaxies in the SDSS-IV MaNGA IFU survey. Using the kinemetry package, we fit the velocity field of the ionized gas to quantify the degree of kinematic asymmetry. We find that the star formation rate (SFR) of the paired galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry is significantly enhanced even when the projected separation between the pair members is quite large (dp~100 kpc). On the contrary, no significant SFR enhancement is found for the paired galaxies with low kinematic asymmetry even when their projected separation is small (dp < 30 kpc). Moreover, we also find that the fraction of galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry is much higher in close pairs (dp < 30 kpc) than those with larger dp, which explains well the early statistical findings of the significant SFR enhancement in close pairs. Our new findings illustrate that the kinematic asymmetry is an excellent indicator of galaxy-galaxy interaction strength, which helps us better understand the merging stage of the observed galaxy pairs., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, accepted by ApJL

We measure the bivariate luminosity function (BLF) of galaxy pairs and use it to probe and characterize the galaxy-galaxy interaction between pair members. The galaxy pair sample is selected from the main galaxy sample of Sloan Digital Sky Survey and supplied with a significant number of redshifts from the LAMOST spectral and GAMA surveys. We find the BLFs depend on the projected distance $d_{\text{p}}$ between pair members. At large separation $d_{\text{p}} > 150 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc}$, the BLF degenerates into a luminosity function (LF) of single galaxies, indicating few interactions between pair members. At $100 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc} \leq d_{\text{p}} \leq 150 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc}$, the BLF starts to show the correlation between pair members, in the sense that the shape of the conditional luminosity function (CLF) of one member galaxy starts to depend on the luminosity of the other member galaxy. Specifically, the CLF with a brighter companion has a steeper faint-end slope, which becomes even more significant at $50 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc} \leq d_{\text{p}} \leq 100 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc}$. This behavior is consistent with the scenario, \textit{and also is the observational evidence}, that dynamic friction drives massive major merger pairs to merge more quickly. At close distance $d_{\text{p}} \leq 50 h^{-1}\ \text{kpc}$, besides the merging time-scale effect, the BLF also shows an overall brightening of $\Delta M_r \geq 0.04$ mag, which reveals the enhanced star formation of the close-pair phase. By combining another statistical conclusion that the star formation rate of late-type galaxies in close pairs is enhanced at a level of about 40\%, we further conclude that the average starburst time-scale of close pairs is as long as 0.4 Gyr., Comment: 19 pages, 9 figures, 3 tables, resubmitted to ApJ after two round of refereeing

We study the classification and composite spectra of galaxy in the fourth data release (DR4) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST). We select 40,182 spectra of galaxies from LAMOST DR4, which have photometric in- formation but no spectroscopic observations in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS). These newly observed spectra are re-calibrated and classified into six classes, i.e. pas- sive, H{\alpha}-weak, star-forming, composite, LINER and Seyfert using the line intensity (H\b{eta}, [OIII]{\lambda}5007, H{\alpha} and [NII]{\lambda}6585). We also study the correlation between spectral classes and morphological types through three parameters: concentration index, (u - r) color, and D4000n index. We calculate composite spectra of high signal-to-noise ra- tio(S/N) for six spectral classes, and using these composites we pick out some features that can differentiate the classes effectively, including H\b{eta}, Fe5015, H{\gamma}A, HK, and Mg2 band etc. In addition, we compare our composite spectra with the SDSS ones and analyse their difference. We present a spectroscopic redshift catalog from the LAMOST Complete Spectroscopic Survey of Pointing Area (LaCoSSPAr) in the Southern Galactic Cap (SGC), which is designed to observe all sources (Galactic and extra-galactic) by using repeating observations with a limiting magnitude of $r=18.1~mag$ in two $20~deg^2$ fields. The project is mainly focusing on the completeness of LAMOST ExtraGAlactic Surveys (LEGAS) in the SGC, the deficiencies of source selection methods and the basic performance parameters of LAMOST telescope. In both fields, more than 95% of galaxies have been observed. A post-processing has been applied to LAMOST 1D spectrum to remove the majority of remaining sky background residuals. More than 10,000 spectra have been visually inspected to measure the redshift by using combinations of different emission/absorption features with uncertainty of $\sigma_{z}/(1+z)<0.001$. In total, there are 1528 redshifts (623 absorption and 905 emission line galaxies) in Field A and 1570 redshifts (569 absorption and 1001 emission line galaxies) in Field B have been measured. The results show that it is possible to derive redshift from low SNR galaxies with our post-processing and visual inspection. Our analysis also indicates that up to 1/4 of the input targets for a typical extra-galactic spectroscopic survey might be unreliable. The multi-wavelength data analysis shows that the majority of mid-infrared-detected absorption (91.3%) and emission line galaxies (93.3%) can be well separated by an empirical criterion of $W2-W3=2.4$. Meanwhile, a fainter sequence paralleled to the main population of galaxies has been witnessed both in $M_r$/$W2-W3$ and $M_*$/$W2-W3$ diagrams, which could be the population of luminous dwarf galaxies but contaminated by the edge-on/highly inclined galaxies ($\sim30\%$)., Comment: 19 pages, 14 figures, 2 MRT, accepted by ApJS

We present and analyze the possibility of using optical ${\it u}$-band luminosities to estimate star-formation rates (SFRs) of galaxies based on the data from the South Galactic Cap ${\it u }$ band Sky Survey (SCUSS), which provides a deep ${\it u}$-band photometric survey covering about 5000 $deg^2$ of the South Galactic Cap. Based on two samples of normal star-forming galaxies selected by the BPT diagram, we explore the correlations between ${\it u}$-band, H$\alpha$, and IR luminosities by combing SCUSS data with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and ${\it Wide}$-${\it field\ Infrared\ Survey\ Explorer}$ (${\it WISE}$). The attenuation-corrected ${\it u}$-band luminosities are tightly correlated with the Balmer decrement-corrected H$\alpha$ luminosities with an rms scatter of $\sim$ 0.17 dex. The IR-corrected ${\it u }$ luminosities are derived based on the correlations between the attenuation of ${\it u}$-band luminosities and ${\it WISE}$ 12 (or 22) $\mu$m luminosities, and then calibrated with the Balmer-corrected H$\alpha$ luminosities. The systematic residuals of these calibrations are tested against the physical properties over the ranges covered by our sample objects. We find that the best-fitting nonlinear relations are better than the linear ones and recommended to be applied in the measurement of SFRs. We report the discovery of an isolated compact galaxy triplet SDSS J084843.45+164417.3, which is first detected by the LAMOST spectral survey and then confirmed by the spectroscopic observation of the BFOSC of the 2.16 meter telescope. It is found that this triplet is an isolated and extremely compact system, which has an aligned configuration and very small radial velocity dispersion. The member galaxies have similar colors and show marginal star formation activities. These results enhance the opinion that the compact triplets are well-evolved systems rather than the hierarchically forming structures. This occasional discovery reveals the limitations of the fiber spectral redshift surveys in studying such compact system, and declares the necessity of additional observations to complete the current redshift sample., Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, accepted by RAA

LAMOST has released more than two million spectra, which provide the opportunity to search for double-peaked narrow emission line (NEL) galaxies and AGNs. The double-peaked narrow-line profiles can be well modeled by two velocity components, respectively blueshifted and redshifted with respect to the systemic recession velocity. This paper presents 20 double-peaked NEL galaxies and AGNs found from LAMOST DR1 using a search method based on multi-gaussian fit of the narrow emission lines. Among them, 10 have already been published by other authors, either listed as genuine double-peaked NEL objects or as asymmetric NEL objects, the remaining 10 being first discoveries. We discuss some possible origins for double-peaked narrow-line features, as interaction between jet and narrow line regions, interaction with companion galaxies and black hole binaries.
