We investigate the suppression of star formation in galaxy pairs based on the isolated galaxy pair sample derived from the SDSS survey. By comparing the star formation rate between late-type galaxies in galaxy pairs and those in the isolated environment, we detect the signal of star formation suppression in galaxy pairs at $d_p < 100$kpc and $200$kpc$ < d_p < 350$kpc. The occurrence of star formation suppression in these late-type galaxies requires their companion galaxies to have an early-type morphology ($n_s > 2.5$). Star formation suppression in wide galaxy pairs with $200$kpc$ < d_p < 350$kpc mainly occurs in massive late-type galaxies, while in close galaxy pairs with $d_p < 100$kpc, it only appears in late-type galaxies with a massive companion ( $\log M_\star > 11.0$), nearly independent of their own stellar mass. Based on these findings, we infer that star formation suppression in wide galaxy pairs is actually a result of galaxy conformity, while in close galaxy pairs, it stems from the influence of hot circum-galactic medium surrounding companion galaxies., Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ

From the mid-19th century to the end of the 20th century, photographic plates served as the primary detectors for astronomical observations. Astronomical photographic observations in China began in 1901, and over a century, a total of approximately 30,000 astronomical photographic plates have been captured. These historical plates play an irreplaceable role in conducting long-term, time-domain astronomical research. To preserve and explore these valuable original astronomical observational data, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory has organized the transportation of plates taken at night from various stations across the country to the Sheshan Plate Archive for centralized preservation. For the first time, plate information statistics was performed. On this basis, the plates were cleaned and digitally scanned, and finally digitized images were acquired for 29,314 plates. In this study, using Gaia DR2 as the reference star catalog, astrometric processing has been carried out successfully on 15,696 single-exposure plates, including object extraction, stellar identification, and plate model computation. As a result, for long focal length telescopes, such as the 40cm double-tube refractor telescope and the 1.56m reflector telescope at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory and the 1m reflector telescope at the Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, the astrometric accuracy obtained for their plates is approximately 0.1" to 0.3". The distribution of astrometric accuracy for medium and short focal length telescopes ranges from 0.3" to 1.0". The relevant data of this batch of plates, including digitized images and stellar catalog of the plates are archived and released by the National Astronomical Data Center. We derive the initial spin period distribution of neutron stars by studying the population of young pulsars associated with supernova remnants. Our hierarchical Bayesian approach accounts for the measurement uncertainties of individual observations and selection effects. Without correcting for selection effects, as done in previous studies, we find that pulsar initial spin periods follow a Weibull distribution, peaking at 40~ms, which is favoured against the log-normal distribution with a Bayes factor of 200. The known selection effects in radio pulsar surveys, including pulse broadening and a period-dependent beaming fraction, have been quantitatively investigated. We show that, based on measurements of pulsar luminosity and spin period from the ATNF Pulsar Catalogue, the impact of pulse broadening on the inference of pulsar period distribution is likely to be insignificant. Correcting for the beaming selection effect, a Weibull distribution remains to be the preferred model, while its peak slightly shifts to longer periods at 50~ms. Spin period distribution provides important clues to understand the formation of millisecond pulsars (MSPs). To uncover the intrinsic period distribution, we analyze three samples of radio MSPs in the Galactic field and in globular clusters. The selection bias due to pulse broadening has been corrected but turns out to be negligible. We find that all the samples can be well described by a Weibull distribution of spin frequencies. Considering MSPs in the Galactic field or in globular clusters, and in isolation or in binary systems, we find no significant difference in the spin distribution among these subpopulations. Based on the current known population of MSPs, we find that sub-millisecond pulsars are unlikely to be discovered by the Square Kilometer Array, although up to $\sim10$ discoveries of pulsars that spin faster than the current record holder of $P=1.4$~ms are expected., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures. In this paper, we study in detail the nonlinear propagation of magnetic soliton in a ferromagnetic film. The sample is magnetized to saturation by an external field perpendicular to film plane. A new generalized (2+1)-dimensional short-wave asymptotic model is derived. The bilinear-like forms of this equation are constructed, and exact magnetic line soliton solutions are exhibited. It is observed that a series of stable lumps can be generated by an unstable magnetic soliton under Gaussian disturbance. Such magnetic lumps are highly stable and can maintain their shapes and velocities during evolution or collision. The interaction between lump and magnetic soliton, as well as interaction between two lumps, are numerically investigated. We further discuss the nonlinear motion of lumps in ferrites with Gilbert-damping and inhomogeneous exchange effects. The results show that the Gilbert-damping effects make the amplitude and velocity of the magnetic lump decay exponentially during propagation. And the shock waves are generated from a lump when quenching the strength of inhomogeneous exchange., Comment: 7 pages, 7figures

We use the eROSITA Final Equatorial-Depth Survey (eFEDS) to measure the rest-frame 0.1-2.4 keV band X-ray luminosities of $\sim$ 600,000 DESI groups using two different algorithms in the overlap region of the two observations. These groups span a large redshift range of $0.0 \le z_g \le 1.0$ and group mass range of $10^{10.76}h^{-1}M_{\odot} \le M_h \le 10^{15.0}h^{-1}M_{\odot}$. (1) Using the blind detection pipeline of eFEDS, we find that 10932 X-ray emission peaks can be cross matched with our groups, $\sim 38 \%$ of which have signal-to-noise ratio $\rm{S}/\rm{N} \geq 3$ in X-ray detection. Comparing to the numbers reported in previous studies, this matched sample size is a factor of $\sim 6$ larger. (2) By stacking X-ray maps around groups with similar masses and redshifts, we measure the average X-ray luminosity of groups as a function of halo mass in five redshift bins. We find, in a wide halo mass range, the X-ray luminosity, $L_{\rm X}$, is roughly linearly proportional to $M_{h}$, and is quite independent to the redshift of the groups. (3) We use a Poisson distribution to model the X-ray luminosities obtained using two different algorithms and obtain best-fit $L_{\rm X}=10^{28.46\pm0.03}M_{h}^{1.024\pm0.002}$ and $L_{\rm X}=10^{26.73 \pm 0.04}M_{h}^{1.140 \pm 0.003}$ scaling relations, respectively. Combining the `time-delay distance' ($D_{\Delta t}$) measurements from galaxy lenses and other distance indicators provides model-independent determinations of the Hubble constant ($H_0$) and spatial curvature ($\Omega_{K,0}$), only based on the validity of the Friedmann-Lema\^itre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) metric and geometrical optics. To take the full merit of combining $D_{\Delta t}$ measurements in constraining $H_0$, we use gamma-ray burst (GRB) distances to extend the redshift coverage of lensing systems much higher than that of Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) and even higher than quasars, whilst the general cosmography with a curvature component is implemented for the GRB distance parametrizations. Combining Lensing+GRB yields $H_0=71.5^{+4.4}_{-3.0}$~km s$^{-1}$Mpc$^{-1}$ and $\Omega_{K,0} = -0.07^{+0.13}_{-0.06}$ (1$\sigma$). A flat-universe prior gives slightly an improved $H_0 = 70.9^{+4.2}_{-2.9}$~km s$^{-1}$Mpc$^{-1}$. When combining Lensing+GRB+SN Ia, the error bar $\Delta H_0$ falls by 25\%, whereas $\Omega_{K,0}$ is not improved due to the degeneracy between SN Ia absolute magnitude, $M_B$, and $H_0$ along with the mismatch between the SN Ia and GRB Hubble diagrams at $z\gtrsim 1.4$. Future increment of GRB observations can help to moderately eliminate the $M_B-H_0$ degeneracy in SN Ia distances and ameliorate the restrictions on cosmographic parameters along with $\Omega_{K,0}$ when combining Lensing+SN Ia+GRB. We conclude that there is no evidence of significant deviation from a (an) flat (accelerating) universe and $H_0$ is currently determined at 3\% precision. The measurements show great potential to arbitrate the $H_0$ tension between the local distance ladder and cosmic microwave background measurements and provide a relevant consistency test of the FLRW metric., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS

Knowledge about the Lorentz factor and its evolution of relativistic jets in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) is crucial to understand their physics. An exact value of bulk Lorentz factor can be estimated based on a high-energy spectral cutoff, which may appear in GRBs' prompt emission owing to the absorption of photon-photon pair production. In this work, we focus on the investigation of the bulk Lorentz factor evolution of jets in an individual burst. Based on \textsl{Fermi} observations, we search for the bursts with multiple $\gamma$-ray pulses characterized by a high-energy spectral cutoff, and nine GRBs are obtained. Together with the estimation of the pulse duration and radiation spectrum, the Lorentz factor of jets corresponding to different pulses in an individual GRB are estimated. It is shown that the Lorentz factor of jets in an individual GRB fluctuates within a certain range and without a general trend in these nine GRBs. In addition, the Lorentz factors of the jets in GRBs~130821A, 160509A and 160625B seem to increase with time. We also study the relations among $L_{\rm iso }$, $E_{\rm p,z}$, and $\Gamma$ for the pulses in our sample, which is found to be consistent with that found in previous works., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ

The SDSS-IV MaNGA survey has measured two-dimensional maps of emission line velocities for a statistically powerful sample of nearby galaxies. The asymmetric features of these kinematics maps reflect the non-rotational component of a galaxy's internal motion of ionized gas. In this study, we present a catalog of kinematic asymmetry measurement of $H\alpha$ velocity map of a sample of 5353 MaNGA galaxies. Based on this catalog, we find that `special' galaxies (e.g. merging galaxies, barred galaxies, and AGN host galaxies) contain more galaxies with highly asymmetric velocity maps. However, we notice that more than half of galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry in our sample are quite `regular'. For those `regular' galaxies, kinematic asymmetry shows a significant anti-correlation with stellar mass at $\log M_\star < 9.7$, while such a trend becomes very weak at $\log M_\star>9.7$. Moreover, at a given stellar mass, the kinematic asymmetry shows weak correlations with photometric morphology, star formation rate, and environment, while it is independent of HI gas content. We also have quantified the observational effects in the kinematic asymmetry measurement. We find that both the signal-to-noise ratio of $H\alpha$ flux and disk inclination angle contribute to the measures of kinematic asymmetry, while the physical spatial resolution is an irrelevant factor inside the MaNGA redshift coverage., Comment: 19 pages, 12 figures, 3 tables. Gravitational waves (GWs) from compact binary coalescences provide an independent probe of the cosmic expansion history other than electromagnetic waves. In this work, we assume the binary black holes (BBHs) detected by LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) collaborations are of primordial origin and constrain the population parameters of primordial black holes (PBHs) and Hubble parameter $H(z)$ using $42$ BBHs from third LVK GW transient catalog (GWTC-3). Three PBH mass models are considered: lognormal, power-law, and critical collapse PBH mass functions. By performing a hierarchical Bayesian population analysis, the Bayes factor strongly disfavors the power-law PBH mass function against the other two in GWTC-3. The constraints on standard $\Lambda{\rm CDM}$ cosmological parameters are rather weak and in agreement with current results. When combining the multi-messenger standard siren measurement from GW170817, the Hubble constant $H_0$ is constrained to be $69^{+19}_{-8}\, \mathrm{km}\, \mathrm{s}^{-1}\, \mathrm{Mpc}^{-1}$ and $70^{+26}_{-8}\, \mathrm{km}\, \mathrm{s}^{-1}\, \mathrm{Mpc}^{-1}$ at $68\%$ confidence for the lognormal and critical collapse mass models, respectively. Furthermore, we consider a mixed ABH+PBH model, in which we assume LVK BBHs can come from both the astrophysical black hole (ABH) and PBH channels. We find that the ABH+PBH model can better describe the mass distribution in GWTC-3 than any single ABH or PBH model, thus improving the precision to constrain the Hubble constant. Green Pea and Blueberry galaxies are well-known for their compact size, low mass, strong emission lines and analogs to high-z Ly{\alpha} emitting galaxies. In this study, 1547 strong [OIII]{\lambda}5007 emission line compact galaxies with 1694 spectra are selected from LAMOST DR9 at the redshift range from 0.0 to 0.59. According to the redshift distribution, these samples can be separated into three groups: Blueberries, Green Peas and Purple Grapes. Optical [MgII]{\lambda}2800 line feature, BPT diagram, multi-wavelength SED fitting, MIR color, and MIR variability are deployed to identify 23 AGN candidates from these samples, which are excluded for the following SFR discussions. We perform the multi-wavelength SED fitting with GALEX UV and WISE MIR data. Color excess from Balmer decrement shows these strong [OIII]{\lambda}5007 emission line compact galaxies are not highly reddened. The stellar mass of the galaxies is obtained by fitting LAMOST calibrated spectra with the emission lines masked. We find that the SFR is increasing with the increase of redshift, while for the sources within the same redshift bin, the SFR increases with mass with a similar slope as the SFMS. These samples have a median metallicity of 12+log(O/H) of 8.10. The metallicity increases with mass, and all the sources are below the mass-metallicity relation. The direct-derived Te-based metallicity from the [OIII]{\lambda}4363 line agrees with the empirical N2-based empirical gas-phase metallicity. We firstly derive the stellar population properties: age and metallicity for $\sim$ 43,000 low redshift galaxies in the seventh data release (DR7) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) survey, which have no spectroscopic observations in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS). We employ a fitting procedure based on the small-scale features of galaxy spectra so as to avoid possible biases from the uncertain flux calibration of the LAMOST spectroscopy. We show that our algorithm can successfully recover the average age and metallicity of the stellar populations of galaxies down to signal-to-noise$\geq$5 through testing on both mock galaxies and real galaxies comprising LAMOST and their SDSS counterparts. We provide a catalogue of the age and metallicity for $\sim$ 43,000 LAMOST galaxies online. The spectral lags of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been viewed as the most promising probes of the possible violations of Lorentz invariance (LIV). However, these constraints usually depend on the assumption of the unknown intrinsic time lag in different energy bands and the use of a single highest-energy photon. A new approach to test the LIV effects has been proposed by directly fitting the spectral lag behavior of a GRB with a well-defined transition from positive lags to negative lags. This method simultaneously provides a reasonable formulation of the intrinsic time lag and robust lower limits on the quantum-gravity energy scales ($E_{\rm QG}$). In this work, we perform a global fitting to the spectral lag data of GRB~190114C by considering the possible LIV effects based on a Bayesian approach. We then derive limits on $E_{\rm QG}$ and the coefficients of the Standard Model Extension. The Bayes factors output in our analysis shows a very strong evidence for the spectral-lag transition in GRB~190114C. Our constraints on a variety of isotropic and anisotropic coefficients for LIV are somewhat weaker than existing bounds, but they can be viewed as comparatively robust and have the promise to complement existing LIV constraints. The observations of GRBs with higher-energy emissions and higher temporal resolutions will contribute to a better formulation of the intrinsic time lag and more rigorous LIV constraints in the dispersive photon sector., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables, the version accepted for publication in the Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

It is generally believed that the variability of photospheric emission in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) traces that of the jet power. This work further investigates the variability of photospheric emission in a variable jet. By setting a constant $\eta$ (dimensionless entropy of the jet), we find that the light curve of the photospheric emission shows a ``tracking'' pattern on the time profile of jet power. However, the relative variability is significantly low in the photospheric emission compared with that in the jet power. If the $\eta$ is genetic variable, the variability of the photospheric emission is not only limited by the jet power but also affected by $\eta$ strongly. It becomes complex and is generally different from that of the jet power. Moreover, the opposite phase may stand in the variabilities of the photospheric emission at different photon energies. We also find that the relative variability does not remain constant over the photon energies with an obvious reduction at a certain energy. This is consistent with the analysis of GRB 090902B in which an appreciable thermal component has been detected in a wide energy range. For several other GRBs coupling with the thermal component, we conservatively evaluate the variability of the thermal and non-thermal emission, respectively. Our results show that the relative variability of the thermal emission is likely comparable to that of the non-thermal emission for these bursts. The interaction between galaxies is believed to be the main origin of the peculiarities of galaxies, which disturbs not only the morphology but also their kinematics. These disturbed and asymmetric features are the indicators of galaxy interaction. We study the velocity field of the ionized gas of the paired galaxies in the SDSS-IV MaNGA IFU survey. Using the kinemetry package, we fit the velocity field of the ionized gas to quantify the degree of kinematic asymmetry. We find that the star formation rate (SFR) of the paired galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry is significantly enhanced even when the projected separation between the pair members is quite large (dp~100 kpc). On the contrary, no significant SFR enhancement is found for the paired galaxies with low kinematic asymmetry even when their projected separation is small (dp < 30 kpc). Moreover, we also find that the fraction of galaxies with high kinematic asymmetry is much higher in close pairs (dp < 30 kpc) than those with larger dp, which explains well the early statistical findings of the significant SFR enhancement in close pairs. Our new findings illustrate that the kinematic asymmetry is an excellent indicator of galaxy-galaxy interaction strength, which helps us better understand the merging stage of the observed galaxy pairs., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, accepted by ApJL
