Abstract

This article gives information about a computer software related to Period Analysis of the Electroencephalogram with Recording of Interval Histograms of EEC Half-Wave Durations (PARIH). PARIH determines the distributions of half-wave duration for specifiable portions of each of two simultaneousinputed analog signals. Output is presented through teletypewriter in the form of an interval histogram. The technique of period analysis, with which the present report deals is a case in point, period analysis requires no untoward assumptions regarding the nature of the signal analysed.

Abstract

Development of a model was initiated to compare retinal damage caused by chronic exposure to c.w. laser radiation and that caused by conventional illumination. The purpose of the comparison is to establish safety standards for c.w. lasers. The experimental animal used so far has been the rabbit. It was discovered that the rabbit eye is much more resistant to this kind of damage than animals previously tested. (Author)
