Abstract

In 2013, the European Network of Transmission System Operators (TSOs) for electricity (ENTSO-E) created the Pan-European Climate Database (PECD), a tool that has underpinned most studies conducted by TSOs ever since. So far, the different versions of the PECD have used so-called modern-era ‘reanalysis’ products that represent a gridded amalgamation of historical conditions from observations. However, scientific evidence suggests, and recent European regulation requires, that power system adequacy studies should take climate change into account when estimating the future potential of variable renewable resources, such as wind, solar and hydro, and the impact of temperature on electricity demand. This paper explains the need for future climate data in energy systems studies and provides high-level recommendations for building a future-proof reference climate dataset for TSOs, not just in Europe, but also globally.

The rough-and-tumble 2021 Ford Bronco is distinctive, and Maisto captures its retro styling well in 1:18 scale with both the Wildtrak and Badlands trims - two of seven offered in 2021. Abstract

This paper summarises the design of an anonymous solar forecast trial conducted over a period of 6 months across the USA in 2016. The trial evaluated the performance of 13 commercial vendor forecasts, benchmarked against a baseline forecast, to determine the state of the art of solar power forecasting, their performance in an operational setting and to determine the range of performance from commercial vendors. The results from the third party hosted trial highlight the improving accuracy of solar power forecasts with respect to a similar previous trial and demonstrate multiple metrics for forecast evaluation. Abstract

This paper outlines the main outcomes from a multi-site solar forecasting trial which took place over the course of 6 months in 2014. The forecast trial was conducted in order to better understand the capability of commercial forecast vendors to accurately forecast solar plant production and, as a result, determine the potential value of solar forecasting to utility operations. With the participation of multiple forecast vendors, a wide ranging assessment of forecast accuracy was possible using multiple metrics and compound metrics. The results showed a range of performance between the forecasters and conditions. Abstract

“Flare for orchestra based on poetry by Mary Oliver” is a three-movement work based on the poem “Flare,” by Mary Oliver. In “Flare,” the emotional and expressive content of the poetry is captured in the programmatic narrative of the music. Oliver’s poem also influences structural elements of the music. Another important feature of the music is the use of a dialectic approach to the many contrasting aspects of the poetry. The goal of “Flare” is to infuse numerous elements of the poetry into the music programmatically and structurally to create a shared creative experience of both the music and poetry.
