Yes Bank is an Indian private bank that commenced operations in 2004. It belongs to the new generation of private sector banks permitted to initiate banking activities by the Reserve Bank of India after liberalization. The bank was founded under the leadership of Rana Kapoor and Ashok Kapur. Tragically, in 2008, Ashok Kapur's life was cut short by terrorists in Mumbai. Subsequently, Rana Kapoor assumed a leadership role at the bank. During Rana's tenure, Yes Bank strategically ventured into corporate lending, with a particular focus on industries like real estate, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, electricals, and media. The bank adopted an assertive approach to expand its loan portfolio, especially catering to those who faced challenges obtaining funds elsewhere. This strategy involved offering substantial loans to applicants, contingent upon an upfront fee ranging from 2 to 10 percent of the sanctioned amount.
