9. Modulating the hAM/PCL Biocomposite for Expedited Wound Healing: A Chemical-Free Approach for Boosting Regenerative Potential

Abstract

There is an arising need for effective wound dressings that retain the bioactivity of a cellular treatment, but without the high costs and complexities associated with manufacturing, storing, and applying cell-based products. As skin wound recovery is a dynamic and complicated process, a significant obstacle to the healing of skin wounds is the lack of an appropriate wound dressing that can imitate the microenvironment of healthy skin and prevent bacterial infection. It requires the well-orchestrated integration of biological and molecular events. In this study, we have fabricated full-thickness skin graft biocomposite membranes to target full-thickness skin excision wounds. We reinforced human amniotic membrane (hAM) with electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL) to develop composite membranes, namely, PCL/hAM and PCL/hAM/PCL. Composite membranes were compared for physical, biological, and mechanical properties with the native counterpart. PCL/hAM and PCL/hAM/PCL displayed improved stability and delayed degradation, which further synergically improved the rapid wound healing property of hAM, driven primarily by wound closure analysis and histological assessment. Moreover, PCL/hAM displayed a comparable cellular interaction to hAM. On application as a wound dressing, histological analysis demonstrated that hAM and PCL/hAM promoted early epidermis and dermis formation. Studies on in vivowound healing revealed that although hAM accelerates cell development, the overall wound healing process is similar in PCL/hAM. This finding is further supported by the immunohistochemical analysis of COL-1/COL-3, CD-31, and TGF-β. Overall, this conjugated PCL and hAM-based membrane has considerable potential to be applied in skin wound healing. The facile fabrication of the PCL/hAM composite membrane provided the self-regenerating wound dressing with the desired mechanical strength as an ideal regenerative property for skin tissue regeneration.

Abstract

In the context of the sixth generation (6G) of cellular networks, innovative vehicular communications technology is being developed in response to the rising demand for intelligent, automated, and connected mobility solutions. A paradigm change towards beam-based millimetre wave or sub-terahertz communications is planned, which calls for accurate beam pointing to ensure stronger communication links, especially in high mobility situations. By offering a novel method of communication system performance optimization, intelligent reflective surface assisted communication appear, This project focuses on an in-depth study of connected vehicles and their implications in a mobility scenario. The primary objectives include investigating communication standards suitable for seamless connectivity among vehicles, analysing the beamforming techniques employed in the next-generation NR (New Radio) technology, and exploring the concept of beam management and beam sweeping for efficient communication. Additionally, the project delves into the realm of Intelligent Reflective Surfaces (IRS), which have shown promise in enhancing wireless communication by manipulating the propagation environment. A scenario is devised to assess the performance of passive beamforming techniques facilitated by IRS.

Abstract

In this work, the effect of various particulates (alumina, titania, fire clay) reinforcements on mechanical and wear properties of epoxy composites have been studied with a prime motive of replacing the costly alumina and titania by much economical fire clay for high mechanical strength and/or wear resistant materials. Fire clay based epoxy composites delivered better mechanical (both tensile and impact) properties than the alumina filled or neat epoxy composites and slightly lower than titania reinforced composites, which qualified the fire clay a very suitable cost effective alternatives of both alumina and titania for high mechanical strength based applications. However, the poor wear behavior of fire clay reinforced composites revealed its poor candidacy for wear and tear applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The heart of research aims to develop an algorithmic paradigm for risk mitigation in software projects by using Neuro-Fuzzy techniques. We have identified the requirements for developing the prototype of required tool which will help in determining the risk level of the project. Various approaches of Artificial Intelligence have been discussed in detail for risk assessment and mitigation in past . The algorithm that has been designed can be implemented using MATLAB or Java Frame works. The system utilizes Fuzzy logic to build the fuzzy inference system which focuses on the production of the membership function which is used for the Fuzzification and Defuzzification process. The training of system is done by using back propagation and Bayesian regulation approach of the neural networks. Neuro-Fuzzy technique has been applied to analyze the risk for dealing with uncertainty and incomplete specifications. The performance can have better results for neuro fuzzy model if we use Bayesian regulation approach as compare to the Back propagation because of low prediction capabilities in Back propagation. Bortezomib is FDA-approved for use in the initial treatment of multiple myeloma in combination with cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone. It is also FDA-approved for use in the treatment of multiple myeloma in individuals who previously responded to bortezomib and relapsed at least six months after the completion of the prior treatment. Also, it is FDA-approved for use in the treatment of mantle cell lymphoma in individuals who have received at least one previous first-line treatment.
