Compared to their school peers, Asian American youth report more internalizing symptoms, peer victimization, and higher rates of suicide, yet they underutilize mental health services at school. This study investigated the feasibility and effectiveness of a culturally responsive parent training program called Parent-Child Connect for Asian American parents at school. Forty-eight Asian American parents (M[subscript age] = 42.98; SD[subscript age] = 5.54, 79.2% female) participated in the parent training program. Parents reported significant increases in positive parenting (parental warmth, Cohen's d = 0.33; reasoning, d = 0.42; and autonomy granting, d = 0.54), and decreases in negative parenting (verbal hostility, d = 0.52; directiveness, d = 0.33; and shaming behavior, d = 0.38) after the intervention. They also reported significant increases in their sense of competence (d = 0.53) and satisfaction in communicating with their children (d = 0.43). Good attendance and high satisfaction from parents suggested high feasibility of the intervention. Fifteen parents attended two focus group interviews 6 weeks after the training. Parents reported improved empathy, parent--child communication, and self-efficacy, and provided suggestions for future iterations of the training. We discuss how school psychologists can provide parent training and support ethnic minority families at school. Impact Statement: To support Asian American youth and parents, we implemented Parent-Child Connect, a culturally responsive parent training program with Asian American parents at school. Results suggest that it is a feasible and effective parenting intervention for Asian American parents in the school setting.

This qualitative case study illustrates the application of the participatory culture-specific consultation model in building university-community partnership between a university research team and four Asian American community organizations. It also describes a collaborative data collection process through the "Hear Me Out" essay contest and workshop to identify needs and challenges experienced by Asian immigrant families. Essays were collected from 27 Asian American adolescents (77.8% female) and 11 immigrant parents (63.3% female). This culture-specific formative research resulted in themes relating to the challenges faced by Asian families, family strengths, and solutions. Based on the themes, we developed the culture-specific hypothesis: it is important for consultants and school staff to recognize Asian immigrant families' strength, but also develop empathy for and openness about their challenges, improve parent-youth communication and positive parenting, and promote parents' awareness of mental health to promote positive youth development. Results will inform intervention development with Asian immigrant families.

Aim: To investigate the ability of critical care nurses to identify pressure injury and incontinence‐associated dermatitis and analyse the possible influencing factors. Design: Cross‐sectional survey. Methods: This study was conducted at 24 hospitals across 12 provinces in China. A self‐made electronic questionnaire was used. Nurses identified and judged injuries according to the information provided. Results: The average identification score for pressure injury and incontinence‐associated dermatitis was 9.00 ± 3.51 points, and only 2.16% of nurses scored ≥16 points. The average correct identification rate for pressure injury and incontinence‐associated dermatitis was 45%. The correct identification rate for stage 1 pressure injury was the highest, while those for stage 3, stage 4, deep tissue pressure injury and unstageable pressure injury were all lower than 50%; incontinence‐associated dermatitis was also easily misjudged. Nurses' educational backgrounds, professional titles, job positions, hospital levels and learning frequency were the factors that affected their ability to identify pressure injury and incontinence‐associated dermatitis. A study was conducted to analyze the influence of alloying carbon with germanium and silicon and different C/Ge ratios during the growth of very thin film layers on the ternary alloy SiGeC prepared on Si(100) substrates. Findings showed that a larger germanium content minimized the island size and increased island density. Results also indicated that strain energy can influence the control of the critical thickness for dislocation generation within three-dimensional islands.
