Abstract Background In the realm of assisted reproduction, a subset of infertile patients demonstrates high ovarian response following controlled ovarian stimulation (COS), with approximately 29.7% facing the risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). Management of OHSS risk often necessitates embryo transfer cancellation, leading to delayed prospects of successful pregnancy and significant psychological distress. Regrettably, these patients have received limited research attention, particularly regarding their metabolic profile. In this study, we aim to utilize gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to reveal these patients’ unique serum metabolic profiles and provide insights into the disease’s pathogenesis. Methods We categorized 145 infertile women into two main groups: the CON infertility group from tubal infertility patients and the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) infertility group. Within these groups, we further subdivided them into four categories: patients with normal ovarian response (CON-NOR group), patients with high ovarian response and at risk for OHSS (CON-HOR group) within the CON group, as well as patients with normal ovarian response (PCOS-NOR group) and patients with high ovarian response and at risk for OHSS (PCOS-HOR group) within the PCOS group. Serum metabolic profiles were analyzed using GC-MS. The risk criteria for OHSS were: the number of developing follicles > 20, peak Estradiol (E2) > 4000pg/mL, and Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels > 4.5ng/mL. Results The serum metabolomics analysis revealed four different metabolites within the CON group and 14 within the PCOS group. Remarkably, 10-pentadecenoic acid emerged as a discernible risk metabolite for the CON-HOR, also found to be a differential metabolite between CON-NOR and PCOS groups. cysteine and 5-methoxytryptamine were also identified as risk metabolites for the PCOS-HOR. Furthermore, KEGG analysis unveiled significant enrichment of the aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis pathway among the metabolites differing between PCOS-NOR and PCOS-HOR. Conclusion Our study highlights significant metabolite differences between patients with normal ovarian response and those with high ovarian response and at risk for OHSS within both the tubal infertility control group and PCOS infertility group. Importantly, we observe metabolic similarities between patients with PCOS and those with a high ovarian response but without PCOS, suggesting potential parallels in their underlying causes.

Using solid adsorbents for the destructive sorption of nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) presents a potential solution to its dual challenges as a potent greenhouse gas and hazardous compound in microelectronics. In this study, a series of MOFs (M-MOF-74, M = Mg, Co, Ni, Zn) with open metal sites (OMSs) are utilized for NF3 adsorption. By employing single-component adsorption isotherms and the ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) selectivity calculations, the adsorption performance of various adsorbents is evaluated. The results indicate that Mg, Co, and Ni-MOF-74 exhibit high adsorption capacities for NF3, while Zn-MOF-74 shows a lower adsorption capacity, likely due to the weaker Lewis acidity of Zn2+. Experimental findings from PXRD and gas adsorption studies indicate structural pore alteration in the MOF-74 series following NF3 gas adsorption. Theoretical computational analyses reveal that the MOF-74 series has a higher adsorption affinity for NF3 compared to N2. This research provides insights into the use of efficient MOF sorbents for the destructive adsorption of NF3.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of lithium disilicate glass ceramic cantilever resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (CRBFPDs) on single anterior tooth loss to provide a reference for the selection of restoration methods for single anterior tooth loss. Methods This study was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee, and informed consent was obtained from the patients. Forty-two patients with less than two anterior teeth with monomaxillary loss were included in this study. After 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years, the aesthetic and functional effects of the restorations and the periodontal health status were evaluated, and the visual analog scale (VAS) was used to assess patient satisfaction. Results During the observation period, the connector fractured in one case within 3 months. One case had debonded within 2 years. The aesthetic restoration effect of all lithium disilicate glass ceramic CRBFPDs was categorized as Class A. The periodontal health was good, there was no clinical absorption in the soft and hard tissues of the abutment or subbridge, periodontal status according to the evaluation indices was classified as class A, and the total satisfaction rate of the patient was 100%. Conclusion For single anterior tooth loss patients, lithium disilicate glass ceramic cantilever resin-bonded fixed partial denture can achieve the restoration effect of less invasion, better adhesion, aesthetics, comfort and good biocompatibility. With high patient satisfaction, it can be considered an ideal restoration method for replacing a single anterior tooth.

To understand the long-term effects of combined organic and chemical nitrogen fertilization on soil organic C (SOC) and total N (TN), we conducted a 30-year field experiment with a wheat–maize rotation system on the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain during 1990–2019. The experimental treatments consisted of five fertilizer regimes: no fertilizer (control), chemical fertilizer only (NPK), chemical fertilizer with straw (NPKS), chemical fertilizer with manure (NPKM), and 1.5 times the rate of NPKM (1.5NPKM). The NPK, NPKS, and NPKM treatments had equal N inputs. The crop yields were measured over the whole experimental duration. Soil samples were collected from the topsoil (0–10 and 10–20 cm) and subsoil (20–40 cm) layers for assessing soil aggregates and taking SOC and TN measurements. Compared with the NPK treatment, the SOC and TN contents increased significantly in both the topsoil (24.1–44.4% for SOC and 22.8–47.7% for TN) and subsoil layers (22.0–47.9% for SOC and 19.8–41.8% for TN) for the organically amended treatments (NPKS, NPKM and 1.5NPKM) after 30 years, while no significant differences were found for the average annual crop yields over the 30 years of the experiment. The 0–10 cm layer of the NPKS treatment and the 20–40 cm layer of the NPKM treatment had significantly higher macroaggregate fraction mass proportions (19.8 and 27.0%) than the NPK treatment. However, the 0–10 and 20–40 cm layers of the 1.5NPKM treatment had significantly lower macroaggregate fraction mass proportions (–19.2 and –29.1%) than the control. The analysis showed that the higher SOC and TN in the soil of organically amended treatments compared to the NPK treatment were related to the increases in SOC and TN protected in the stable fractions (i.e., free microaggregates and microaggregates within macroaggregates), in which the contributions of the stable fractions were 81.1–91.7% of the increase in SOC and 83.3–94.0% of the increase in TN, respectively.
