This research article introduces a microcontroller-based prototype system called the Battery Health Monitoring System (BHMS), designed to evaluate the health and condition of lead-acid batteries. The focus of the study is on utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time battery monitoring. The system incorporates various sensors to track and record critical parameters such as current, voltage, power drain, state of charge (SOC), temperature, and overall battery health. These sensors are configured to trigger an alert when any monitored parameters fall below predefined values. The study aims to validate the effectiveness of the proposed low-cost system in real-time monitoring of lead-acid batteries.

PAN/phenolic-based carbon/carbon composites are finding more and more use, and becoming more and more important for space/aviation industries, and general structural applications. The primary constituents of these materials are fragile, and cracking occurs through random failures caused by imperfectionsinduced random failures. The strength of a fragile material follows Weibull distribution. The variation of the flexural strengths has been modeled using Weibull distribution. In order to compute m and σu, first, the values of σi were ordered from the smallest to the largest, and then applying linear regression to these values. From the linear regression, the Weibull modulus and the characteristic strength were estimated. The CFRP composites show maximum flexural strength which decreases during the pyrolysis at the temperature of 1000 0C. The reduced flexural strength can be related to void defects. These defects probably act as a source of fractures during loading. The failure probabilities for CFRP and C/C composites are 0.55 and 0.78, respectively, and these values 334 and 92 MPa, and 29 and 10.2 GPa for mean flexural strength and flexural modulus, respectively, would be quite useful for understanding the fiber-matrix interfacial bonding properties, which have a strong influence on the mechanical properties of these composites.

Recently, the Hot Wire CNC Technology is use for the purpose of cutting of the materials like thermopol and foam for the packaging of products. This technology saves labor costs and increases production. The main objective of the research is to determine the influence of wire temperature on the quality of cuts achieved through hot wire cutting technology and explore the optimal material combination for low power consumption in wire cutting technology. The technique utilizes controlling the current regulation of the Nichrome wire, to reduce the power consumption. The Hot Wire CNC Machine is controlled by a micro controller which sends a special code called G-Code to the stepper motors and the current regulation is controlled by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) through Power transistor. The results of the study show a sufficient reduction in power consumption when using the combination of Nickel-chromium materials.

The smart mirror helps humans to use their time effectively. It serves as the simple mirror and allows the user to see important updates and control electrical appliances simultaneously. Smart mirror is developed to let the user do multi-tasks while he was leaving from home. This system consists of two applications one is the smart mirror application developed using python and Tkinter library. The second one is smart mirror mobile application developed using the IONIC mobile development framework. Firebase firestore real-time database is exploited to show the user the latest news, weather updates, the current date, and time. It also allows the user to add his to-do list items. The user can control home appliances using voice commands and mobile applications. There is also a security module that captures the image of an intruder and sends the message to the mobile application. Smart mirror is developed to reduce human efforts and to allow the users to use their time effectively.

In this paper a novel eye-tracking device designed which uses tiny CCD cameras to capture the eye image from the screen with the help of a video capture card. In the head gesture control mode, a light source projector is turned on and the CCD camera detects the position of the light source. The locations of the spots on the screen and on the image pupil of the eye image are calculated, compared with the previous point and are subsequently mapped to the point on the screen. The movement increment-coordinate control is also discussed which could improve the ease of use of the computer. We investigate the use of non-rigid head fixation using a helmet that constrains only general head orientation and allows some freedom of movement. Device results simulated with the help of software which achieves excellent timing performance due to the use of live data streaming, instead of the traditionally employed data storage mode for processing analogous eye position data.

The paper proposes the technique of detection and estimation of slip by using parameters of motor such as torque and current for a locomotive system. The motor is used for controlling wheel-set motion mounted on each axle of the rail. As the track condition changes (due to decrease in adhesion/friction), the parameter of motor considerably varies resulting slip occurrence. By utilizing inertial mounted sensors (such as tachometer) in order to measure the velocity of the train, slip can be detected. Furthermore, the estimation of motor parameters is carried out using Kalman filter, which minimizes the usage of additional sensors. In this regard, the proposed method offers a cost effective, accurate and robust solution for the slip issue in order to avoid accidents in locomotive systems.
