1. Malicious URL Detection using optimized Hist Gradient Boosting Classifier based on grid search method

Abstract: Trusting the accuracy of data inputted on online platforms can be difficult due to the possibility of malicious websites gathering information for unlawful reasons. Analyzing each website individually becomes challenging with the presence of such malicious sites, making it hard to efficiently list all Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) on a blacklist. This ongoing challenge emphasizes the crucial need for strong security measures to safeguard against potential threats and unauthorized data collection. To detect the risk posed by malicious websites, it is proposed to utilize Machine Learning (ML)-based techniques. To this, we used several ML techniques such as Hist Gradient Boosting Classifier (HGBC), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for detection of the benign and malicious website dataset. The dataset used contains 1781 records of malicious and benign website data with 13 features. First, we investigated missing value imputation on the dataset. Then, we normalized this data by scaling to a range of zero and one. Next, we utilized the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) to balance the training data since the data set was unbalanced. After that, we applied ML algorithms to the balanced training set. Meanwhile, all algorithms were optimized based on grid search. Finally, the models were evaluated based on accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and the Area Under the Curve (AUC) metrics. The results demonstrated that the HGBC classifier has the best performance in terms of the mentioned metrics compared to the other classifiers., Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures

4. Leveraging multi-variable observations to reduce and quantify the output uncertainty of a global hydrological model: evaluation of three ensemble-based approaches for the Mississippi River basin

Abstract: Global hydrological models enhance our understanding of the Earth system and support the sustainable management of water, food and energy in a globalized world. They integrate process knowledge with a multitude of model input data (e.g., precipitation, soil properties, and the location and extent of surface waterbodies) to describe the state of the Earth. However, they do not fully utilize observations of model output variables (e.g., streamflow and water storage) to reduce and quantify model output uncertainty through processes like parameter estimation. For a pilot region, the Mississippi River basin, we assessed the suitability of three ensemble-based multi-variable approaches to amend this: Pareto-optimal calibration (POC); the generalized likelihood uncertainty estimation (GLUE); and the ensemble Kalman filter, here modified for joint calibration and data assimilation (EnCDA). The paper shows how observations of streamflow (Q) and terrestrial water storage anomaly (TWSA) can be utilized to reduce and quantify the uncertainty of model output by identifying optimal and behavioral parameter sets for individual drainage basins. The common first steps in all approaches are (1) the definition of drainage basins for which calibration parameters are uniformly adjusted (CDA units), combined with the selection of observational data; (2) the identification of potential calibration parameters and their a priori probability distributions; and (3) sensitivity analyses to select the most influential model parameters per CDA unit that will be adjusted by calibration. Data assimilation with the ensemble Kalman filter was modified, to our knowledge, for the first time for a global hydrological model to assimilate both TWSA and Q with simultaneous parameter adjustment. In the estimation of model output uncertainty, we considered the uncertainties of the Q and TWSA observations. Applying the global hydrological model WaterGAP, we found that the POC approach is best suited for identifying a single “optimal” parameter set for each CDA unit. This parameter set leads to an improved fit to the monthly time series of both Q and TWSA as compared to the standard WaterGAP variant, which is only calibrated against mean annual Q, and can be used to compute the best estimate of WaterGAP output. The GLUE approach is almost as successful as POC in increasing WaterGAP performance and also allows, with a comparable computational effort, the estimation of model output uncertainties that are due to the equifinality of parameter sets given the observation uncertainties. Our experiment reveals that the EnCDA approach performs similarly to POC and GLUE in most CDA units during the assimilation phase but is not yet competitive for calibrating global hydrological models; its potential advantages remain unrealized, likely due to its high computational burden, which severely limits the ensemble size, and the intrinsic nonlinearity in simulating Q. Partitioning the whole Mississippi River basin into five CDA units (sub-basins) instead of only one improved model performance in terms of the Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency during the calibration and validation periods. Diverse parameter sets achieved comparable fits to observations, narrowing the range for at least three parameters. Low coverage of observation uncertainty bands by GLUE-derived model output bands is attributed to model structure uncertainties, especially regarding artificial reservoir operations, the location and extent of small wetlands, and the lack of representation of rivers that may lose water to the subsurface. These uncertainties are also likely to be responsible for significant trade-offs between optimal fits to Q and TWSA. Calibration performed exclusively against TWSA in regions without Q observations may worsen the Q simulation as compared to the uncalibrated model variant. We recommend that modelers improve the realism of the output of global hydrological models by calibrating them against observations of multiple output variables, including at least Q and TWSA. Further work on improving the numerical efficiency of the EnCDA approach is necessary.

Abstract: Abstract Background Coronary artery diseases (CADs) are the most important non‑communicable diseases (NCDs), which cause the highest number of deaths around the world. Hypertension (HTN), dyslipidemia (DL), diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity (OB), low physical activity (LPA), smoking, opium consumption (OC) and anxiety are the most important CAD risk factors, which are more dangerously present in combination in some patients. Methods A total of 5835 people aged 15 to 75 years were enrolled in the phase 1 (2012) and followed up to the phase 2 (2017) of the population-based Kerman coronary artery diseases risk factors study (KERCADRS). The prevalence and pattern of different combinations of CAD risk factors (double to quintuple) and their 5-year incidence rates were assessed. Results The prevalence of single CAD risk factors (RFs) in phase 2 was 50.2% (DL), 47.1% (LPA), 28.1% (abdominal obesity), 21.2% (OB), 16.5% (HTN), 9.2% (smoking), 9.1% (OC), and 8.4% (DM). The most frequent combination of risk factors was LPA plus DL (23.9%), metabolic syndrome (19.6%), and DL plus OB (17.8%). The 5-year incidence rates of multiple comorbidities (in persons per 100 person-years) was DL plus LPA (2.80%), HTN plus DL (1.53%), and abdominal obesity (AOB) plus DL (1.47%). The most participants (84.4%) suffered from at least one RF, while 54.9% had at least two and 29.9% had at least three RFs. Conclusion The results showed that a large portion of the study population suffers from multiple CAD RFs. The findings underscore the importance of identifying multiple CAD risk factors to reduce the overall burden of these NCDs.

Abstract: Efficient management of pharmaceutical supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic is critical to mitigate material and human losses. This paper addresses the design of a pharmaceutical supply chain network under pandemic disruption, introducing a novel bi-objective mathematical model. Traditional supply chain management strategies often fall short in the face of sudden disruptions, necessitating the development of resilient systems. Our model seeks to minimise economic costs and shortages as primary objectives, addressing the specific challenge of sudden surges in demand for pharmaceuticals. To enhance resilience, we propose solutions including the establishment of temporary distribution points and the creation of backup inventory. We employ a scenario-based, discrete, and linear modelling approach, solving the model using goal-planning methods and validating its efficacy through numerical examples. Additionally, we conduct a case study in the metropolitan area of Mashhad, further demonstrating the applicability and effectiveness of our approach. This research contributes to the advancement of resilient supply chain design in the pharmaceutical sector, offering insights that can inform improved management practices and bolster resilience in pharmaceutical supply chains.

Abstract: After the acceptance of Islam by Turkic people, the Arabic script was introduced and became prevalent in the region of Turkestan. From the time of the Karakhanid dynasty, the first Turkic-Islamic state, numerous works were composed and transcribed using the Arabic script. These works now serve as valuable historical texts for scholars and researchers. Arabic script remained in use in Kazakhstan until the 1920s. Despite sporadic research efforts to uncover and analyze Turkic texts transcribed in the Arabic script, these works received limited attention during the Soviet era. However, since Kazakhstan gained independence, there has been a surge in studies aimed at exploring these historical texts. In such studies, the transcription of the texts is typically conducted using Cyrillic or Latin script, and in some cases, both are employed. Following the initiation of Kazakhstan's transition to the Latin alphabet in 2017, there has been renewed interest in transcribing Turkic texts written in the Arabic script. This study aims to re-evaluate the transcription alphabet employed in previous research on historical texts in Kazakhstan and propose a new transcription system that is suitable for the new Latin script. The proposed alphabet will be applied to the Chagatai manuscripts of Divān-i Hikmet, Qıṣṣa-i Sulṭān Ḥubbı̇̄, Destūr'ül-‘ilāj and Durruʾl-ʿacāyib, located in Kazakhstan. The last two works, which have significant historical and linguistic value, have not yet been extensively studied by scholars. Destūr'ül-‘ilāj is a medical book on Central Asian herbalism and medicine, written in Chagatai, a language with Classical Period features. Durruʾl-ʿacāyib is a collection of 66 chapters that narrates hadiths and belongs to Chagatai's Post-Classical Period.

Abstract: Objective: Sleep disorders are associated with many health problems including anxiety, depression and coronary artery disease (CAD). This study investigated the prevalence, predictors and health impacts of insomnia and hypersomnia in southeastern Iran as well as the five-year incidence rate (IR) of these sleep disorders. Method : The present study was a cross-sectional, single-stage, cluster sampling study examining nine CAD risk factors (KERCADR study phase two), including sleep disorders, carried out in Kerman on 9997 participants, 15 to 80 years old. Medical examination along with demographic, sleep status, Physical activity level (GPAQ), anxiety and depression status (Beck Inventories) were assessed and fasting blood sample was taken for blood glucose and lipids analysis. STATA v15 software was used for data analysis using survey data analysis package and a univariable survey logistic regression model. Results: From 9997 participants, 59.4% were female. 45.3% of the participants were suffering from insomnia and hypersomnia, which was 15% more than the phase 1 prevalence (P < 0.001). Participants with insomnia had higher chance of being anxious, but participants with hypersomnia had higher chance of being depressed, be a cigarette smoker, opium user, and sedentary (P < 0.001). In regards to marital status, prevalence of hypersomnia was as follows in ascending order of prevalence: singles > married > widowed > divorced. While the IR of insomnia was higher in females, males had higher IR of hypersomnia. In addition, the IR of both sleep disorders was higher in participants with Low Physical Activity (LPA). Conclusion: The results showed high current prevalence and increasing trends of sleep disorders in the past five years. If left unaddressed, burden of CVDs in the community will demonstrate a significant increase in the future as a result of sleep disorders and other associated risk factors.

11. Protamine as a barrier against the angiogenic effect of insulin: a possible role of apelin

Abstract: Abstract Insulin is proved to have angiogenic ability thereby may worsen the diabetic retinopathy (DR) progression. Insulin also triggers the expression of endogenous angiogenic peptide, apelin. Since protamine was introduced as an inhibitor of the apelin receptor, we hypothesized that use of protaminated insulin instead of non-protaminated insulin can decrease the negative role of insulin in progression of DR. Firstly, the incidence of DR was compared among three diabetic patient groups: an oral medication, non-protaminated insulin, and protaminated insulin (PIns). Proliferation and migration rate of HUVECs was measured after insulin, apelin, and protamine exposure. In clinical study, the chance of developing DR was 8.5 and 4.1 times higher in insulin group and PIns groups compared with oral group respectively. Insulin group had a chance of 9.5-folds of non-proliferative DR compared to oral group. However, the difference of non-proliferative DR between PIns and oral group wasn’t significant. In-vitro tests showed that concomitant use of insulin and apelin increases viability and migratory potential of HUVECs. However, protamine could reverse this effect. Protamine present in some insulins might show a promising protective role against diabetic retinopathy. Thus, protaminated insulins may be preferable in the treatment of diabetes.

Abstract: Abstract Background Data are limited on the relationship between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the combinational indices of lipid accumulation product (LAP), triglyceride-glucose index (TyG), and visceral adiposity index (VAI). The association of these novel indices with the 5- and 10-year incidence of CVD was assessed. Method A total of 1888 and 1450 healthy adults aged between 15 and 75 years (out of the 5895 participants of the KERCADR study, 2012) were followed for five and ten years, respectively. Baseline LAP, TyG, and VAI were calculated and logistic regression models were used to assess their relationship with the incidence of CVD in the two follow-up periods. Also, the predictive performance of these three indices was analyzed using the area under ROC curve (AUC) for the development of CVD compared with traditional single indices. Results In the 5- and 10-year follow-ups, 399 and 476 CVD cases (21.1% and 32.8%) were documented, respectively. For the 5-year CVD risk, the adjusted odds ratio (AOR, 95% CI) was LAP (2.24 [1.44, 3.50]), VAI (1.58 [1.08, 2.33]), and TyG (1.57 [1.02, 2.42]). For the 10-year CVD risk, the AOR was LAP (1.61 [1.04, 2.49]), TyG (1.57 [1.02, 2.41]), and VAI (1.41 [0.96, 2.09]). In both periods and sexes, LAP had the best performance with the highest AUCs (0.644 and 0.651) compared to the other two indices and compared to the traditional single indices (e.g., BMI, LDL, etc.). Conclusion Overall LAP, TyG, and VAI were better CVD risk predictors compared to the traditional single risk factors, with LAP showing the strongest predictive power for the incidence of CVD.

Abstract: This paper discusses the concept of geotechnical seismic isolation (GSI) systems, characterized by new principles of action, to reduce seismic loads on buildings. The advantages and disadvantages of GSIs and their environmental and economic reliability are analyzed. The aim of the study is to develop a geotechnical seismic isolation system in the form of vertical barriers, using a rubber–soil mixture (RSM). The novelty of the work lies in the definition of effective structural and technical solutions of vertical seismic barriers made of RSM, characterized by reliability in providing seismic isolation. The ground and superstructure interactions are modeled in PLAXIS 2D software from 2021, using the finite element method, using the accelerogram of the Kobe and Northridge earthquakes. The results confirm the positive impact of using an RSM as an effective GSI geometrical. The results show that the GSI system using an RSM reduces horizontal accelerations by 60%. Significant acceleration reductions of 40–60% are also observed when the thickness and depth of GSI seismic barriers are increased. The results of the study contribute to the substantiation of methodology and scientific and technical efficiency of geotechnical seismic isolation as an economically favorable design alternative to the traditional seismic isolation system.

Abstract: Asırlar boyu Asya ve Avrupa kıtaları arasında gelişmiş bir ticaret, kültür alışverişini ve medeniyetler arası etkileşimi gerçekleştiren bir köprü görevini yapan Orta Asya, birçok uygarlığın da beşiği olmuştur. Doğal zenginlikleri ve bulunduğu coğrafi konumunun yanı sıra barındırdığı kültür mirası ile de araştırmacılara ve bilim adamlarına geniş kaynaklar sunmaktadır. Bu bölge 18. yüzyıldan itibaren çeşitli yabancı bilim adamları ve araştırmacıların ilgi odağı olmuştur. Onların yapmış oldukları ilmi çalışmalar bu bölgenin kültür mirasını gözler önüne sergilemiştir. Ancak, Sovyetler Birliği döneminde kapalı bir alana dönüşen Orta Asya’nın sahip olduğu kültürel mirası ve tarihi ile ilgili çalışmalar son yıllarda yeniden gündeme gelmiştir. Son zamanlarda Arap harfli tarihi Türk metinleri örneklerinin bulunması yapılması gereken araştırmalara odaklanmamızı sağlamaktadır. Türk dünyasının hem tarihi hem coğrafyası açısından önemli ve büyük kısmına ışık tutan Arap harfli tarihi Türkçe metinlerin gün ışığına çıkarılması ve incelenmesi bizim için büyük önem arz etmektedir. Özellikle Türk Tıp tarihi incelemelerinde Orta Asya’da yazılmış tarihi metinleri bulup incelemek, atılması gereken önemli adımlardan biridir. Zira bir toplumun sağlık ve hastalık anlayışı, sahip olduğu ve yaşadığı kültür değerlerinden ayrı düşünülmemektedir. Bu değerlerden biri de Türk kavimlerinin Kültürü, İslam anlayışı ile hayat felsefesini yansıtan Yesevilik ve Tasavvufi görüşünün ruh ve beden sağlığı için önemli bir eylem olan dualarda ve virdlerde yansımasıdır. Bu doğrultuda XVI. Yüzyıl Köşküncü Han’ın sarayında Baş Hekim olan Sultan Ali Tabîb Horasani tarafından Çağatayca yazılmış “Destûr’ül -‘İlâc” adlı yazma eseri ele alınmaktadır. Metinde, çeşitli hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılan ilaçlar ve klasik yöntemlerin yanı sıra çeşitli dualar ve ritüellerin de kullanıldığı görülmektedir. XVI. Yüzyıl Orta Asya’sında yazılmış olan bu klâsik ve geleneksel tıp kitabında yer alan çeşitli hastalıkların tedavi yöntemleri ve ilaçlar ile kullanılan duaların işlevi ve sebeplerini örnekler ile açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır. Çalışmamızda duanın anlamı, önemi ve geleneksel tıpta yani halk hekimliğindeki etkisini aynı zamanda çeşitli ilmî yayınlardan derlenen yerli ve yabancı kaynaklar temelinde bilimsel tıbbi tedavinin yanında destekleyici, yardımcı bir güç, yöntem olarak dua temelinde kullanılan manevî tedavinin önemi, psikodinamiği, özellikleriyle Türk kültüründe hâlâ güncelliğini koruduğuna ve manevî değerlerimiz ile tasavvufi görüşlerimizin unutulmamasında önemli rol oynadığına vurgu yapılacaktır.

Abstract: Anxiety and depression (A&D) are common mental disorders with high economical and health burdens. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and the incidence rate of A&D symptoms and their relationship with sociodemographic and other risk factors and comorbidities in adults living in southeastern Iran. A population-based cohort study with random cluster household survey sampling method. Second round of Kerman Coronary Artery Disease Risk Factors Study (KERCADRS) (2014-2018) performed in Southeastern, Iran. We recruited 9997 participants (15-80 years) in the second round of the study, from whom 2820 persons were the people who also participated in the first round of KERCADRS in 2009-2012. The age-standardised A&D prevalence was measured among all participants, and the 5-year A&D incidence rate was measured in those who were free from A&D in the first round in 2009-2012 and were at risk of A&D in the follow-up. Abstract: BackgroundDyslipidemia (DL) is an important risk factor of coronary artery disease (CAD). We evaluated DL prevalence and its 5-year incidence rate in southeastern Iran, to assess the severity and growth rate of this CAD risk factor in the region.Materials and methodsThis study was a part of the Kerman CAD Risk Factors Study Phase 2 (2014-2018) among 9996 individuals aged 15-80 years, from whom 2820 individuals had also participated in Phase 1 (2009-2011). In mg/dl, cholesterol ≥240 and/or low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ≥160 and/or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol 200 were defined as DL.ResultsThe lipid profile of 9911 persons was analyzed. Overall 19.6% had borderline cholesterol and 6.4% suffered from hypercholesterolemia. 56.6% of the population (62.5% of females vs. 48.5% of males) suffer from DL, from whom 73.4% were undiagnosed. Female gender, advanced age, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, anxiety, and depression predicted DL in the study population. The prevalence of DL was significantly lower in Phase 2 (56.6%) compared to Phase 1 (81.4%). The prevalence of undiagnosed DL (UDL) and diagnosed DL (DDL) was 40.7% and 16.2%, respectively. The 5-year incidence rate of DL was 2.58 persons/100 person-years (3.24 in females vs. 2.20 in males).ConclusionAlthough there were promising signs of a reduction in DL and increase in DDL in the last 5 years, a high percentage of the population have DL yet, from whom mostly are undiagnosed. DL was significantly associated with other CAD risk factors. Therefore, the health-care management system should improve its strategies to reduce the health burden of DL.

Abstract: Background: Diabetes mellitus is among the most serious health challenges worldwide. We assessed the prevalence of pre-diabetes (pre-DM) and diabetes (DM), the effectiveness of diabetes management, the 5-year incidence rate, and associated variables in the adult population in southeastern Iran. Methods: In a random cluster household survey (2014-2018), 9,959 adult individuals aged 15-80 years were assessed for coronary artery disease risk factors, including diabetes mellitus in Kerman (KERCADRS, phase 2). Among these people, 2,820 persons had also participated in phase 1 of the study 5 years earlier (2009-2011). Univariable and multivariable survey logistic regression models were used to identify the potential predictors of diabetes and pre-diabetes. Results: The prevalence of pre-DM was 12% (males 13.2% vs. females 11.1%), steadily increasing from 7.1% in the 15-24 years group to 18.4% in the 55-64 years group. The prevalence of DM was 10.2% (male and female, 7.9 and 10.8%, respectively), of which 1.9% were undiagnosed. DM was diagnosed in 10.6% of educated and 15.1% of illiterate people. The prevalence of diagnosed DM was lower in smokers (5.2 vs. 8.7%) and dependent opium users (5.4 vs. 8.8%). The prevalence of uncontrolled DM (HbA1c > 7%) was 48.8%, increasing with age. The frequency of uncontrolled DM among people without and with treatment was 32 and 55.9%, respectively. Illiterate people had worse uncontrolled DM (55.6 vs. 39.6%). The 5-year incidence rate (persons/100 person-years) was 1.5 for pre-DM and 1.2 for DM, respectively. The lowest and the highest incidence rate of DM belonged to the 15-34 years old group (0.5) and dependent opium users (2.4). The incidence rate was found to have a direct relationship with BMI and a reverse relationship with physical activity. Conclusion: Pre-DM and DM affected 22.2% of the population. One-third of patients with diabetes had undiagnosed DM, and in 55.9% of people with diagnosed DM, treatment had been ineffective. Appropriate health interventions are needed to reduce the prevalence and health consequences of diabetes in the region.

22. Prioritization of earthquake relief using a hybrid two-phase approach

Abstract: One of the stages of crisis management is planning and initial preparation to deal with the crisis. During natural disasters, one of the main activities is the logistics of relief groups and the activities of relief teams to save the lives of the victims of the accident. A review of past events shows that the chances of rescuing the injured decrease and that a quick and correct decision is important in this situation. This paper presents a two-phase hybrid approach to decision-making and prioritization of affected regions to send relief teams. In this approach, multi-criteria decision-making methods in two phases are used to consider different indicators in achieving the optimal solution. In the first phase, with the help of the primary decision matrix, the AHP, TOPSIS and AHP-TOPSIS methods are used. And in the second phase, according to the results obtained from the first phase, the secondary decision matrix is created. With the CoCoSo method's help, one of the newest methods in this field, areas are prioritized for relief. In order to implement the proposed approach, the city of Amol has been studied.

Abstract: A new analysis of the dataset from the Pierre Auger Observatory provides evidence for anisotropy in the arrival directions of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays on an intermediate angular scale, which is indicative of excess arrivals from strong, nearby sources. The data consist of 5514 events above 20 EeV with zenith angles up to 80 deg recorded before 2017 April 30. Sky models have been created for two distinct populations of extragalactic gamma-ray emitters: active galactic nuclei from the second catalog of hard Fermi-LAT sources (2FHL) and starburst galaxies from a sample that was examined with Fermi-LAT. Flux-limited samples, which include all types of galaxies from the Swift-BAT and 2MASS surveys, have been investigated for comparison. The sky model of cosmic-ray density constructed using each catalog has two free parameters, the fraction of events correlating with astrophysical objects and an angular scale characterizing the clustering of cosmic rays around extragalactic sources. A maximum-likelihood ratio test is used to evaluate the best values of these parameters and to quantify the strength of each model by contrast with isotropy. It is found that the starburst model fits the data better than the hypothesis of isotropy with a statistical significance of 4.0 sigma, the highest value of the test statistic being for energies above 39 EeV. The three alternative models are favored against isotropy with 2.7-3.2 sigma significance. We took fasting blood samples and collected demographic information and data on cigarette and water-pipe tobacco smoking (WPTS) through interviews. Findings: The overall prevalence of cigarette smoking increased from 8.1% in phase1 to 8.8% in phase 2. During the same period, the prevalence of WPTS increased from 10% to 14%, especially in the age groups of 15-45 years. The prevalence of opium dependance was higher among cigarette smokers compared to WPT users. The overall 5-year IR of cigarette and WPTS was 3.6 and 4.65 per 1000 person-years respectively. The highest IRs of cigarette smoking and WPTS were reported in the age group of 15-39 years, and IR of WPTS was higher among women. Obesity, diabetes, and hypertension associated with a reduced IRs of cigarette and WPTS. Conclusion: Over the past five years, the prevalence of cigarette smoking has increased slightly, but WPTS has increased more rapidly, especially among women. The highest prevalence of cigarette and WPT smoking was in the age groups of 15-39 years. Smoking is shifting from cigarette smoking to WPTS. Age- and gender-oriented interventions would help correct the unhealthy life style in the community and prevent further smoking-related morbidities and mortalities.

Abstract: Background: Post-neurosurgical meningitis is a significant cause of mortality and morbidity. In this study we aimed to compare the differences of clinical, laboratory features and outcomes between the post-neurosurgical meningitis caused by gram-negative bacilli (GNB) and gram-positive cocci (GPC). Methods: Cases of post-neurosurgical meningitis (with positive CSF culture) were included. After classifying patients as GNB and GPC groups, clinical and paraclinical data were compared. Results: Out of 2667 neurosurgical patients, CSF culture was positive in 45 patients. 25 (54.3%) were GNB, 19 (41.3%) GPC. The most common microorganisms were Klebsiella pneumoniae (n=14, 31.1%), Coagulase negative staphylococcus (n=8, 17.8%), Staphylococcus aureus (n=6, 13.3%), Acinetobacter baumannii (n=4, 8.9%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n=2, 4.4%), and Escherichia coli (n=2, 4.4%). There were no correlation between CSF Leakage, Surgical site appearance, presence of drain, Age and GCS between two groups (P=0.11, P=0.28, P=0.06, P=0.86, P=0.11 respectively). The only different laboratory indexes were ESR (86.8 mm/h vs. 59.5 mm/h, P=0.01) and PCT (13.1 ng/ml vs. 0.8 ng/ml, P=0.02) which were higher in GNB cases. 20% (n=5) of patients with GNB meningitis received preoperative corticosteroid, while none of GPC cases received (P=0.03). The median length of hospitalization for GNB and GPC cases was 56 and 44.4 days respectively (P=0.3). Conclusion: The GNB antibiotic coverage should be designed more carefully in post-neurosurgical meningitis especially in patients with recent corticosteroid therapy and elevated ESR and procalcitonin.

Abstract: We present a new method for probing the hadronic interaction models at ultra-high energy and extracting details about mass composition. This is done using the time profiles of the signals recorded with the water-Cherenkov detectors of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The profiles arise from a mix of the muon and electromagnetic components of air-showers. Using the risetimes of the recorded signals we define a new parameter, which we use to compare our observations with predictions from simulations. We find, firstly, inconsistencies between our data and predictions over a greater energy range and with substantially more events than in previous studies. Secondly, by calibrating the new parameter with fluorescence measurements from observations made at the Auger Observatory, we can infer the depth of shower maximum for a sample of over 81,000 events extending from 0.3 EeV to over 100 EeV. Above 30 EeV, the sample is nearly fourteen times larger than currently available from fluorescence measurements and extending the covered energy range by half a decade. The energy dependence of the average depth of shower maximum is compared to simulations and interpreted in terms of the mean of the logarithmic mass. We find good agreement with previous work and extend the measurement of the mean depth of shower maximum to greater energies than before, reducing significantly the statistical uncertainty associated with the inferences about mass composition., Comment: 21 pages; 18 figures; version accepted for publication in Phys. Abstract: The Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo observatories recently discovered gravitational waves from a binary neutron star inspiral. A short gamma-ray burst (GRB) that followed the merger of this binary was also recorded by the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (Fermi-GBM), and the Anticoincidence Shield for the Spectrometer for the International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL), indicating particle acceleration by the source. The precise location of the event was determined by optical detections of emission following the merger. We searched for high-energy neutrinos from the merger in the GeV--EeV energy range using the ANTARES, IceCube, and Pierre Auger Observatories. No neutrinos directionally coincident with the source were detected within $\pm500$ s around the merger time. Additionally, no MeV neutrino burst signal was detected coincident with the merger. We further carried out an extended search in the direction of the source for high-energy neutrinos within the 14-day period following the merger, but found no evidence of emission. We used these results to probe dissipation mechanisms in relativistic outflows driven by the binary neutron star merger. The non-detection is consistent with model predictions of short GRBs observed at a large off-axis angle., Comment: 22 pages, 2 figures

Abstract: Cosmic rays are atomic nuclei arriving from outer space that reach the highest energies observed in nature. Clues to their origin come from studying the distribution of their arrival directions. Using $3 \times 10^4$ cosmic rays above $8 \times 10^{18}$ electron volts, recorded with the Pierre Auger Observatory from a total exposure of 76,800 square kilometers steradian year, we report an anisotropy in the arrival directions. The anisotropy, detected at more than the 5.2$\sigma$ level of significance, can be described by a dipole with an amplitude of $6.5_{-0.9}^{+1.3}$% towards right ascension $\alpha_{d} = 100 \pm 10$ degrees and declination $\delta_{d} = -24_{-13}^{+12}$ degrees. Abstract: We present a novel method to measure precisely the relative spectral response of the fluorescence telescopes of the Pierre Auger Observatory. We used a portable light source based on a xenon flasher and a monochromator to measure the relative spectral efficiencies of eight telescopes in steps of 5 nm from 280 nm to 440 nm. Each point in a scan had approximately 2 nm FWHM out of the monochromator. Different sets of telescopes in the observatory have different optical components, and the eight telescopes measured represent two each of the four combinations of components represented in the observatory. We made an end-to-end measurement of the response from different combinations of optical components, and the monochromator setup allowed for more precise and complete measurements than our previous multi-wavelength calibrations. We find an overall uncertainty in the calibration of the spectral response of most of the telescopes of 1.5% for all wavelengths; the six oldest telescopes have larger overall uncertainties of about 2.2%. Abstract: AMIGA (Auger Muons and Infill for the Ground Array) is an upgrade of the Pierre Auger Observatory designed to extend its energy range of detection and to directly measure the muon content of the cosmic ray primary particle showers. The array will be formed by an infill of surface water-Cherenkov detectors associated with buried scintillation counters employed for muon counting. Each counter is composed of three scintillation modules, with a 10 m$^2$ detection area per module. In this paper, a new generation of detectors, replacing the current multi-pixel photomultiplier tube (PMT) with silicon photo sensors (aka. SiPMs), is proposed. The selection of the new device and its front-end electronics is explained. A method to calibrate the counting system that ensures the performance of the detector is detailed. This method has the advantage of being able to be carried out in a remote place such as the one where the detectors are deployed. High efficiency results, i.e. 98 % efficiency for the highest tested overvoltage, combined with a low probability of accidental counting ($\sim$2 %), show a promising performance for this new system., Comment: 24 pages, 12 figures

Abstract: An in-situ calibration of a logarithmic periodic dipole antenna with a frequency coverage of 30 MHz to 80 MHz is performed. Such antennas are part of a radio station system used for detection of cosmic ray induced air showers at the Engineering Radio Array of the Pierre Auger Observatory, the so-called Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA). The directional and frequency characteristics of the broadband antenna are investigated using a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) carrying a small transmitting antenna. The antenna sensitivity is described by the vector effective length relating the measured voltage with the electric-field components perpendicular to the incoming signal direction. The horizontal and meridional components are determined with an overall uncertainty of 7.4^{+0.9}_{-0.3} % and 10.3^{+2.8}_{-1.7} % respectively. The measurement is used to correct a simulated response of the frequency and directional response of the antenna. In addition, the influence of the ground conductivity and permittivity on the antenna response is simulated. Both have a negligible influence given the ground conditions measured at the detector site. The overall uncertainties of the vector effective length components result in an uncertainty of 8.8^{+2.1}_{-1.3} % in the square root of the energy fluence for incoming signal directions with zenith angles smaller than 60{\deg}., Comment: Published version. Abstract: This paper discusses the concept of geotechnical seismic isolation (GSI) systems, characterized by new principles of action, to reduce seismic loads on buildings. The advantages and disadvantages of GSIs and their environmental and economic reliability are analyzed. The aim of the study is to develop a geotechnical seismic isolation system in the form of vertical barriers, using a rubber–soil mixture (RSM). The novelty of the work lies in the definition of effective structural and technical solutions of vertical seismic barriers made of RSM, characterized by reliability in providing seismic isolation. The ground and superstructure interactions are modeled in PLAXIS 2D software from 2021, using the finite element method, using the accelerogram of the Kobe and Northridge earthquakes. The results confirm the positive impact of using an RSM as an effective GSI geometrical. The results show that the GSI system using an RSM reduces horizontal accelerations by 60%. Significant acceleration reductions of 40–60% are also observed when the thickness and depth of GSI seismic barriers are increased. The results of the study contribute to the substantiation of methodology and scientific and technical efficiency of geotechnical seismic isolation as an economically favorable design alternative to the traditional seismic isolation system. Abstract: We present a combined fit of a simple astrophysical model of UHECR sources to both the energy spectrum and mass composition data measured by the Pierre Auger Observatory. The fit has been performed for energies above $5 \cdot 10^{18}$ eV, i.e.~the region of the all-particle spectrum above the so-called "ankle" feature. The astrophysical model we adopted consists of identical sources uniformly distributed in a comoving volume, where nuclei are accelerated through a rigidity-dependent mechanism. The fit results suggest sources characterized by relatively low maximum injection energies, hard spectra and heavy chemical composition. Abstract: Simultaneous measurements of air showers with the fluorescence and surface detectors of the Pierre Auger Observatory allow a sensitive search for EeV photon point sources. Several Galactic and extragalactic candidate objects are grouped in classes to reduce the statistical penalty of many trials from that of a blind search and are analyzed for a significant excess above the background expectation. The presented search does not find any evidence for photon emission at candidate sources, and combined $p$-values for every class are reported. Particle and energy flux upper limits are given for selected candidate sources. These limits significantly constrain predictions of EeV proton emission models from non-transient Galactic and nearby extragalactic sources, as illustrated for the particular case of the Galactic center region., Comment: Published version

Abstract: A search for ultra-high energy photons with energies above 1 EeV is performed using nine years of data collected by the Pierre Auger Observatory in hybrid operation mode. An unprecedented separation power between photon and hadron primaries is achieved by combining measurements of the longitudinal air-shower development with the particle content at ground measured by the fluorescence and surface detectors, respectively. Only three photon candidates at energies 1 - 2 EeV are found, which is compatible with the expected hadron-induced background. Upper limits on the integral flux of ultra-high energy photons of 0.038, 0.010, 0.009, 0.008 and 0.007 km$^{-2}$ sr$^{-1}$ yr$^{-1}$ are derived at 95% C.L. for energy thresholds of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 EeV. These limits bound the fractions of photons in the all-particle integral flux below 0.14%, 0.17%, 0.42%, 0.86% and 2.9%. For the first time the photon fraction at EeV energies is constrained at the sub-percent level. The improved limits are below the flux of diffuse photons predicted by some astrophysical scenarios for cosmogenic photon production. The new results rule-out the early top-down models $-$ in which ultra-high energy cosmic rays are produced by, e.g., the decay of super-massive particles $-$ and challenge the most recent super-heavy dark matter models., Comment: Corrected version after erratum published in JCAP

Abstract: Scheduling is a decision-making process that plays an important role in the service and production industries. Effective scheduling can assist companies to survive in the competitive market. Single machine scheduling is an important optimization problem in the scheduling research area. It can be found in a wide range of real-world engineering problems, from manufacturing to computer science. Due to the high complexity of single machine scheduling problems, developing approximation methods, particularly metaheuristic algorithms, for solving them have absorbed considerable attention. In this study, a Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA) is employed to solve a single machine with maintenance activities, where the objective is to minimize the Total Absolute Deviation of Compilation Times (TADC). In the scheduling literature, TADC as an objective function has hardly been studied. To evaluate the performance of the LOA, it was compared against a set of well-known metaheuristics. Therefore, a set of problem was generated, and a comprehensive experimental analysis was conducted. The results of computational experiments indicate the superiority of the proposed optimization method.

Abstract: The spread of coronavirus disease around the world has had an immense impact on most economic sectors. Yet amid the turmoil and chaos from the worldwide pandemic, one industry is thriving noticeably. The coronavirus disease is a once in a lifetime business opportunity for pharmaceutical companies. This study presents an artificial intelligence method composed of optimization and machine learning. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used to measure productivities and efficiencies of pharmaceutical companies during the COVID-19 pandemic using the additive model in window analysis, the BCC (Banker-Charnes-Cooper) model, and the CCR (Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes) model. The three models are assessed using DataStream financial information with research and development (R&D) investment. The results indicated the additive model's superiority in window analysis, followed by the BCC and CCR models. In the end, some of well-known data mining algorithms, based on the suggested data, have been evaluated in various tools to find the most efficient tool and algorithm.

Abstract: Academic buoyancy is one of the positive constructs of psychology that researchers in education have considered. Therefore, this study aimed to design a model of academic buoyancy based on meaning mediated by happiness in female high school students in Hamadan. The research method was correlational and structural equations. The statistical sample included 370 female high school students in Hamadan that was selected based on stratified random sampling. Academic Buoyancy Scale, the Meaning of Life Questionnaire, and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire were used to collect data. A structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the meaning of life has a direct and positive effect on academic buoyancy and happiness. Happiness also directly and significantly affects academic buoyancy. Happiness also has a significant mediating role in the relationship between the meaning of life and academic buoyancy. Since the meaning of life plays a role in creating motivation, it causes more effort, achieving desired goals, and a sense of happiness. Happiness causes a positive feeling and vitality in the educational environment, followed by an increase in academic buoyancy.

50. Spelling and phonetic features of the medical treatise 'Dastur al-'ilaj'

Abstract: If we recall the historical development of the Turkic languages in the Middle Ages, in the Central Asian region since the Karakhanid period, in many studies we see works written in the Turkic language, based on the Arabic alphabet, called the Chagatai language. In this article, having studied the linguistic, spelling and phonetic features of the handwritten text of the treatise "Dastur al-ilaj", we consider it a work in the Chagatai language, called the Eastern Turkic or medieval literary Turkic language. Manuscripts written in the XV-XX centuries. in Chagatai differ in language structure, period of writing and content. In our opinion, medical works that develop the potential of the Turkic language as a scientific language should be considered from the point of view of Turkological and linguistic studies. The Persian versions of the work say that the treatise was completed in 1527 by order of the nomadic Uzbek Khan Abu Sagid Khan. Therefore, according to the classification of J. Ekman, the date of writing this treatise refers to the period after the classical era of the Eastern Turkic language. Based on the treatise “Dastur al-‘ilaj”, the article examines the linguistic features of medical works of the 16th century. Thus, in the original text, an analysis was made of the phonetic features of nouns, the phonetic features of the names of plants, animals, body parts and internal organs of a person, as well as the spelling of borrowed words.
