Abstract With the chemical formula CaCl2, calcium chloride is a salt as well as an inorganic material. At room temperature, it has the consistency of a white, crystalline solid and is very water-soluble. It can be created by neutralizing calcium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid. Calcium chloride is a solution with a large enthalpy change. It is extensively utilized in research facilities, manufacturing facilities, and pharmaceuticals, including all types of food-graded applications, the treatment of acute illnesses, packaging for drying tubes, dust controllers, and de-icing, among other uses. In this paper, firstly we compute the topological indices, coindices, and reverse indices of CaCl2. Further, we employ machine learning strategies to capture the best suitable set of indices for the proximity of the prediction of distinct physio-chemical properties of CaCl2. To strengthen the results, different regression techniques are implemented to predict HOF of CaCl2 based on our features, and the most influential features were detected to verify our results.

Abstract Nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery offers a promising approach to targeted cancer therapy, leveraging the ability of nanoparticles to deliver therapeutic agents directly to cancerous tissues with minimal impact on surrounding healthy cells. The presence of these nanoparticles is governed by a concentration equation, which accounts for the diffusion, convection, and reaction of the nanoparticles with the blood components. It is well-known that whenever a disease or infection occurs in a human, in 80% of cases a rise in the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the blood occurs. This is the reason why blood is assumed to contain hydrogen peroxide (in the present study), which is a biomarker of oxidative stress and inflammation. This study explores the integration of machine learning (ML) techniques into the optimization of drug delivery processes within the human cardiovascular system, focusing on the enhancement of these processes through the application of magnetic fields. By employing ML algorithms, we analyze and predict the behavior of nanoparticles as they navigate the complex fluid dynamics of the cardiovascular system, particularly under the influence of an external magnetic field. The predictive power of ML models enables the precise control of nanoparticle trajectories, optimizing their accumulation in cancerous tissues and improving the efficacy of the drug delivery system. The findings of this study demonstrate that ML-enhanced magnetic targeting can significantly enhance the precision and effectiveness of nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery, offering a new paradigm in cancer treatment strategies. This approach has the potential to revolutionize the field by providing personalized and highly efficient therapeutic solutions for cancer patients.

Abstract The most serious long-term effects of diabetes is peripheral artery disease (PAD) which increases the chance of developing diabetic foot ulcers, gangrene and even lower limb amputation. The clinical manifestations of PAD which are typically not revealed until symptoms like intermittent claudication, rest pain and ischemic gangrene develop, are not present in majority of diabetes mellitus patients with PAD due to diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Therefore, current study is aimed to evaluate the inflammatory and endothelial dysfunction markers with their correlation to biomarkers that can help for in-time diagnosis and efficient prognosis of developing diabetes-associated PAD. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to evaluate the interlukin-6, interlukin-8, intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) and vascular cell adhesion molecule (VCAM) in PAD with diabetes group, diabetic group and healthy individual group while biomarkers were measured by kit method. It was observed that serum IL-6, IL-8, ICAM and VCAM levels in type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with PAD patients were increased significantly (85.93, 597.08, 94.80 and 80.66) as compared to T2DM patients (59.52, 231.34, 56.88 and 50.19) and healthy individuals (4.81, 16.93, 5.55 and 5.16). This study explores the optimization and performance of a hybrid energy system combining a geothermal heat pump (GHP) with a wind turbine in Izmir, Turkey. Utilizing a 4E (Energy, Exergy, Economic, and Exergoenvironmental) analysis approach, the system aims to enhance winter heating efficiency. Geothermal heat pumps leverage the Earth's consistent temperatures for heating and cooling, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional energy sources. Key findings include a high coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.916 for the heat pump, a net power output of 118.9 kW, total energy efficiency of 67.93 %, and exergy efficiency of 45.18 %. Economically, the system proves viable with a unit exergy cost of 0.1246 $/kWh, highlighting its cost-effectiveness. The exergoenvironmental analysis demonstrates a factor of 0.8059, indicating a substantial reduction in environmental impact. The integration of geothermal and wind energy demonstrates substantial potential for sustainable energy solutions, crucial for environmental conservation and economic advancement. This comprehensive evaluation highlights the system's operational dynamics, presenting an innovative approach to renewable energy utilization.

This research represents a crucial step forward in the design and application of magnetized ternary hybrid nanofluids, paving the way for innovations in thermal management and medical treatment technologies. Optimization analysis of nanoscale heat transport for magnetized ternary hybrid bio nanofluid containing SiO2, TiO2, and Al2O3 nanoparticles over a three-dimensional wedge geometry is made in this article. Heat transport analysis is studied through thermal and joule heating effects and the ternary hybrid composition is chosen to leverage the combined thermal properties of the nanoparticles. Furthermore, detail streamlines of flow pattern are investigated for different physical parameters. Physical system is formulated with the system of Partial differential equation (PDEs) and it is processed with similarity transformation to convert it into system of ordinary differential equation (ODEs). Furthermore, Keller box scheme is applied to fetch its numerical solution and compared with finite element technique for validation and found smooth agreement.Temperature is increased with pressure gradient, shear strain and thermal radiation parameter. Magnitude of drag force is increasing with increasing Weissenberg number. For We = 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, skin friction increases in ternary nanofluid with 13 %,17 %, 21 %, 23 % and 26 % respectively. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block vs Local Infiltration for pain management techniques in patients undergoing laparoscopic lower abdominal surgeries. Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Surgery, Lahore General Hospital, from March to May, 2024. It involved a total of 110 patients, divided into two groups of 55 each, between the ages of 20 to 60 years, diagnosed with indirect inguinal hernia by ultrasound. Chronic smokers, drug addicts, intravenous drug abusers, patients with a history of previous surgeries, with known drug allergies and with complicated hernia were excluded from this cross-sectional study. The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) was used to see the pain variation and effectiveness of both techniques at 6, 12, 18 and 24 hours. Results: The mean age in the TAP Block Group was 32.0 ± 9.92 years, and the mean age in the Local Wound Infiltration Group was 34.21 ± 10.01 years. There were 108 (98.18%) male and 2(1.81%) female cases with a higher male-to-female ratio. The results indicated that the TAP Block group consistently required fewer rescue analgesic doses than the local wound Infiltration group at all postoperative time points. At 6 hours, 23.63% of patients in the TAP Block group needed additional analgesia, compared to 38.18% in the Wound Infiltration group, though this difference was not statistically significant. However, at 12, 18, and 24 hours, the TAP Block group showed a significantly lower need for rescue analgesia, with p-values of 0.002, and 0.008, respectively. Conclusion: In managing postoperative pain of Inguinal Hernia Repair, TAP Block is superior to Wound Infiltration of local anesthetic agent. After TAP Block NRS remains fewer and a smaller number of rescue doses are needed as compared to Wound infiltration.

Background: Globally, there is significant variation in the out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) survival rate. Early links in the chain of survival, including bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator at the scene, are known to be of crucial importance, with strong evidence of increased survival rate with good neurological outcomes. The data from the Middle East are limited and report variable rates of bystander CPR and survival. It is crucial to get prospective, reliable data on bystander response in these regions to help plan interventions to improve bystander response and outcomes. ObjectiveThis international collaborative study aims to describe the characteristics, including bystander interventions and outcomes, of OHCAs brought to hospitals enrolled in the study from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Doha, Qatar; and Muscat, Oman. It also aims to describe the strength of the association between bystander response and OHCA outcomes, including the return of spontaneous circulation, survival to hospital admission, survival to discharge, and good neurological outcome at discharge in the local context of low bystander CPR rates. MethodsThis multicenter, prospective, noninterventional observational study (Bro. Study) will be conducted at the emergency departments of 4 participating tertiary care hospitals in 3 countries. The data will be collected prospectively according to the Utstein style (a set of internationally accepted guidelines for uniform reporting of cardiac arrests) on demographic variables (age, sex, nationality, country, participating center, and comorbidities), peri–cardiac arrest variables (location, witnessed or not, bystander CPR, use of automated external defibrillator, time of emergency medical services arrival, initial rhythm, number of shocks, and time of prehospital CPR), and outcome variables (return of spontaneous circulation, survival to discharge, and neurological outcome at discharge and 3 months). Univariate and multivariate analysis with logistic regression models will be used to measure the strength of the association of bystander interventions with outcomes using SPSS (version 22). ResultsData collection began in November 2023 and will continue for 2 years, with publication expected by early 2026. ConclusionsBystander response to an OHCA is critical to a favorable outcome. The reliable, baseline bystander CPR data will be a cornerstone in the team’s next planned projects, which are to qualitatively identify the barriers to bystander CPR, conduct a scoping review of community interventions in the Gulf and other Asian countries, and design and implement strategies to help improve the bystander CPR rate in the community. Significance: The thermal analysis of nanofluid in a vertical cylinder (artery) in a magnetized environment holds significant implications in physiological and thermal regulation networks. This research is significant in biomedical engineering with applications like medical diagnostics and treatment strategies. Motive: This study investigates the thermal behavior of a magnetized blood-based ternary Carreau nanofluid flowing through a vertically bounded artery with quadratic convection. Velocity and heat transfer analysis is conducted within the artery, utilizing thermal radiation and quadratic convection in a magnetized setting. The base fluid consists of blood, augmented with three nanoparticles: CuO, Al2O3, and TiO2. The investigation centers on examining the properties of blood nanofluid, arterial geometry, and thermal dynamics. Methodology: The physical model generates a set of partial differential equations (PDEs) and similarities mechanism is utilized to fetch its non dimensional form in terms of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Furthermore, numerical outcomes are obtained with Matlab function bvp4c and obtained data set is trained through robust scheme Levenberg-Marquardt neural network (LMNN) procedure to predict the solution. Findings: Velocity of blood is reduced with increased values of wiessenberg number, magnetic parameter and mixed convection parameter and velocity increases for Second-order convection parameter. Temperature profile decreases with curvature parameter, mixed convection parameter and permeability parameter.

Objective: The present research was conducted to evaluate the negative effects of nicotine powder on the blood physiology, and biochemical and histological alterations of Labeo rohita. Materials and Methods: Fish were divided into four groups (1–4). Fish groups 2, 3, and 4 were exposed to different concentrations of nicotine, such as 0.75, 1.25, and 1.75 mg/l, while group 1 acted as a control. To find out the long-term impact of nicotine on body physiology, we conducted a 42-day experiment. After the completion of the experiment, hematology, biochemical assays, and histology were done. Results: Results revealed a considerable increase in HGB, red blood cells, WBCs, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, red cell distribution width -SD, procalcitonin, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, very low-density lipoprotein, alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase, globulin, thyroid stimulating hormone, BUN, creatinine, and blood glucose levels, whereas mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, RDW, platelet, high-density lipoprotein, albumin, total proteins, and T3 levels were significantly (p ≤ 0.05) decreased in exposed fish as compared to control group fish. Histological alterations showed that exposure to smokeless nicotine causes deleterious and degenerative effects in the liver, kidney, and gills of exposed fish. Conclusion: Nicotine administration in fish results in adverse effects on different biochemical and hematological parameters and causes histological alterations in some vital organs of exposed fish. ABSTRACTChocolate is the most popular food type and flavor in this world. The key ingredient in many chocolate products is cocoa butter due to its unique fatty acid profile. Due to the expensive nature of cocoa butter, it has stimulated extensive research for fats that are cheaper and more easily available and can be used as cocoa butter substitutes. The mango (Mangifera indica) is known as the king of fruit due to its rich nutritive profile. The major parts of mango fruit are peel, pulp, and seed. Mango seed is usually discarded as waste which is a source of edible oil (7–12%). The current study was designed to produce chocolate with mango seed oil as a cocoa butter replacer. Mango seed oil was extracted using the soxhlet apparatus and its physiochemical properties were evaluated. Extracted oil was used in chocolate preparation with different proportions (0%, 30%, 70%, and 100%). Furthermore, chocolate was subjected to explore the effect of storage (21days) on product quality and sensory with 7days interval. Current results show that mango seed oil has a valuable fat profile containing palmitic acid (C16:0) 26%, stearic acid (C18:0) 36%, and oleic acid (C18:2) 33%. Moreover, innovative chocolate showed higher antioxidant activity as compared to control in different storage intervals. In addition, chocolate prepared with different proportions of mango seed oil showed higher sensory scores as compared to the control sample. The findings suggest that mango seed oil can replace cocoa butter in chocolate and reduce/manage mango seed waste to improve its antioxidant activity and nutritional value.

Abstract Hybrid nanofluids offer higher stability, synergistic effects, and better heat transfer compared to simple nanofluids. Their higher thermal conductivity, lower viscosity, and interaction with magnetic fields make them ideal for various applications, including materials science, transportation, medical technology, energy, and fundamental physics. The governing partial differential equations are numerically solved by employing a finite volume approach, and the effects of various parameters on the nanofluid flow and thermal characteristics are systematically examined from the simulations based on a self-developed MATLAB code. The parameters included magnetic field strength, the Reynolds number, the nanoparticle volume fraction, and the number and position of the strips in which the magnetic field is localized. It has been noted that the magnetized field induces the spinning of the tri-hybrid nanoparticles, which generates the intricate structure of vortices in the flow. The local skin friction (CfRe) and the Nusselt number (Nu) increase significantly when the magnetic field is intensified. Moreover, adding more nanoparticles in the flow enhances both Nu and CfRe, but with different effects for different nanoparticles. Silver (Ag) shows the highest increase in both Nu (52%) and CfRe (110%), indicating strong thermal-fluid coupling. Alumina (Al2O3) and Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) show lower increases in both Nu (43% and 34%) and CfRe (14% and 10%), indicating weaker coupling in the flow. Finally, compared with the localized one, the uniform magnetic field has a minor effect on the flow and temperature distributions.

Innovation and technology are important tools for delivering efficiency and productivity improvement in the minerals sector. The uptake of technologies has proven to be an important lever for increasing the productivity of the mining sector. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of mine-level productivity using global data of copper, gold, and platinum from 1991 to 2020. Various drivers of productivity have been analysed to draw policy insights. Empirical findings reveal significant disparities in terms of technical efficiency and productivity across mines and regions. The further decomposition of total factor productivity (TFP) into its different components suggests that the adoption of innovative practices and investment in technology adoption could improve the overall productivity of these commodities sectors. Our findings also suggest that an appropriate input mix and optimal scale of production could boost platinum mining productivity. Regional disparities in the productivity of different commodities sectors (e.g., South Africa vs. Zimbabwe) give policymakers insights into how to support production scale and productivity through appropriate input mixes.

Numerous heating and cooling design methods, including energy storage, geothermal resources, heaters, solar collectors, underground water movement, lakes, and nuclear reactors, require the study of flow regimes in a cavity and their impact on thermal efficiency in heat transportation. Despite the existence of several review studies in the open literature, there is no specific review of heat transfer investigations that consider different cavity designs, such as spheres, squares, trapezoids, and triangles. Therefore, this work aims to conduct a comprehensive review of previous research published between 2016 and 2023 on heat transfer analysis in these cavity designs. The intention is to clarify how various cavity shapes perform in terms of flow and heat transfer, both with and without the addition of nano-enhanced phase change materials (NePCMs), which may include fins, obstacles, cylinders, and baffles. The study also explores the influence of factors like thermophoresis, buoyancy, magnetic forces, and others on heat transport in cavities. Additionally, it investigates the role of air, water, nanofluids, and hybrid nanofluids within cavities. According to the reviewed research, nanoparticles in the base fluid speed up the cooling process and reduce the required discharging time. Thermophoresis, where nanoparticles move from the heated wall to the cold nanofluid flow, becomes more pronounced with increasing Reynolds numbers. Increasing the heated area of the lower flat fin enhances the heat transfer rate, while increasing both the Rayleigh number and the solid volume percentage of nanoparticles reduces it. Radiation blockage alters the path of hot particles and affects the anticipated radiative amount. Optical thickness plays a role in rapidly cooling a medium, and partition thickness has the most significant effect on heat transport when the thermal conductivity ratio is low. Heat transmission is most improved when the Rayleigh number is high and the Richardson number is low.

Background: Sodium metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) is a disinfectant and preservative agent which is commonly used in food industry and polluted water bodies through industrial wastes. Objective: Current study was conducted to observe the impact of widely used salt on the gills, kidney and liver of Labeo rohita. Methods: Fish were divided into three groups. One group treated as control. Two groups were exposed to sodium metabisulfite in different concentrations (29 mg/L and 68 mg/L) for 28 days. Results: The 96h LC50 value for sodium metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) was found to be 130 mg/L. Histological changes revealed moderate to severe damage in time and concentration dependent manners. Photomicrograph of gills of exposed fish showed different histological alterations such as hyperplasia, marginal gill lamellae, blood congestion, gills lamellae aneurysm and distortion of the gill cells. Results indicated that exposure to sodium metabisulfite caused severe progressive alterations such as melanomacrophage, cytoplasmic vacuolization, hepatocytes and cluster nuclei in liver tissues of exposed fish. Kidney tissues of treated L. rohita revealed different histological changes including, wide hypertrophied nucleus, sinusoidal spaces, cloudy swelling degeneration, glomerular expansion and tubules starting the degeneration process as compared with control fish. Conclusion: Our results represent the pioneering report demonstrating that sodium metabisulfite can act as a potent toxic agent for Labeo rohita.

The aim of the current study is to mainly investigate the complex interaction of Lorentz force with the micropolar fluids inside a lid-driven square cavity. We used a numerical method to solve the challenging nonlinear partial differential equations that arise from the mathematical modeling of the fluid flow in the presence of a magnetic field. This is because such complex problems do not have analytical solutions or are very hard to find. The dimensionless form of the governing partial differential equation is solved using the Stream-Vorticity formulation. Unlike most of the previous studies, a uniform magnetic field throughout the flow domain was not assumed, which is more realistic. We introduce a confined magnetic field in the shape of multiple horizontal and vertical strips. With the help of our self-developed computer codes in MATLAB language, we intend to understand the way where these parameters affect the flow and thermal properties of the nanofluids. It is found that the confined Lorentz force causes the spinning of micropolar particles, which creates the intricate structure of vortices inside the flow regime. Further, the Nusselt number (Nu) and the skin friction (CfRe) have opposite trends with the Reynolds number and the magnetic field strength. The Nu is significantly influenced by the microrotation parameter while CfRe is not. Both Nu and CfRe are slightly increased by the magnetic field. The Nusselt number is much more sensitive to the Reynolds number than the skin friction. For example, when the Reynolds number increases from 1 to 20, the Nusselt number rises from 0.94 to 7.48, while the skin friction only changes from 45.24 to 44.97. Similarly, the Nusselt number is more affected by the magnetic strip width than the skin friction. A small increase of 0.1 in the magnetic strip width leads to a nearly 5% increase in the Nusselt number, but only a 0.5% increase in the skin friction. This shows that the heat transfer is more influenced by the magnetic strip width than the fluid friction.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the thermal proficiency of a trihybrid magnetized water-based cross nanofluid over an inclined shrinking sheet. Cross-fluid is the best model to investigate the fluid flow at a very high and very low share rate. There are three nanoparticles that are added in based fluid (water) to form the requisite posited ternary hybrid nanofluid. Moreover, heat transport analysis is scrutinized by incorporating the melting conditions. The obtained nonlinear system of partial differential equations (PDEs) from assumed physical assumption is converted into the nonlinear setup of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). These ODEs are passed under the boundary value problem of a fourth-order (bvp4c) MATLAB program for numerical results. With the help of bvp4c, data are further trained through an artificial neural network and results are predicted. Results are compared with both techniques and found smooth agreement. The obtained numerical results provide valuable insight for optimizing heat transfer processes involving nanoparticle-enhanced fluid on inclined shrinking sheets. From the results, it is concluded that the inclusion of nanoparticles enhances the viscosity and thermal conductivity of the fluid. High temperatures make rapid heat transfer scenarios.

Bisphenol F (BPF) is an emerging contaminant extensively used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries, exerting deleterious effects on human and wildlife health. Therefore, the current study was conducted to assess the toxicity induced by BPF in rohu Labeo rohita using multiple biomarkers such as oxidative stress, activity of antioxidant enzymes, biochemical parameters, histology, and genotoxicity. Fish were separated into four groups (T1–T4). Parabens are being used as preservatives due to their antifungal and antimicrobial effects. They are emerging as aquatic pollutants due to their excessive use in many products. The purpose of this study was to determine the toxic effect of ethyl paraben (C9H10O3) on the hematobiochemical, histological, oxidative, and anti-oxidant enzymatic and non-enzymatic activity; the study also evaluates the potential of ethyl paraben to cause genotoxicity in Rohu Labeo rohita. A number of 15 fish with an average weight of 35.45±1.34g were placed in each group and exposed to ethyl paraben for 21 days. Three different concentrations of ethyl paraben, i.e., T1 (2000μg/L), T2 (4000 μg/L), andT3 (6000 μg/L) on which fish were exposed as compared to the control T0 (0.00 μg/L). Blood was used for hematobiochemical and comet assay. Gills, kidneys, and liver were removed for histological alterations. The results showed a significant rise in all hemato-biochemical parameters such as RBCs, WBCs, PLT count, blood sugar, albumin, globulin, and cholesterol. An increase in aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) levels directed the hepatocytic damage. Histological alterations in the liver, gills and kidneys of fish were found. Ethylparaben induces oxidative stress by suppressing antioxidant enzyme activity such as SOD, GSH, CAT and POD. Based on the comet assay, DNA damage was also observed in blood cells, resulting in genotoxicity. Findings from the present study indicate that ethyl paraben induces hemato-biochemical alterations, tissue damage, oxidative stress, and genotoxicity.

From transportation to energy production, environmental protection, and medical advancements, vortices are known to influence everything. Therefore, a remarkable aspect of engineering and scientific research in these areas is the prediction, control, and optimization of such vortices. Motivated by these potential applications, we numerically study ‘how confined magnetic fields may give rise to new vortices in the micropolar flow inside a square cavity, by employing the Alternating Direction Implicit approach. Unlike most of the previous studies, we do not assume a uniform magnetic field throughout the flow domain, which is more realistic. Instead, we introduce several confined magnetic fields in the form of multiple horizontal and vertical strips. Further, we have applied the theory of micropolar fluids proposed by Eringen to model the micropolar fluid and visualize the flow patterns around the magnetic strips in the flow regime. Using our self-developed MATLAB codes, we examine how various parameters, such as the magnetic field strength, the number and position of the strips, and the micropolar parameter affect the flow and thermal properties of the micropolar fluid. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the vortex generation and heat transfer enhancement of micropolar fluids in lid-driven cavities under localized magnetic fields. The study reveals that both the Nusselt number (Nu) and skin friction (CfRe) coefficient decrease by 45% and 1% respectively with a magnetic number (Mn) for a fixed Reynolds number (Re). However, increasing the Reynolds number at a fixed magnetic number increases the Nusselt number (909%) and skin friction coefficient (7%). This means that the higher flow velocity translates into increased wall shear stress and heat transfer, which destabilizes the flow and may cause turbulence. This knowledge can be used to develop new and improved micropolar fluid-based technologies for a variety of applications, such as energy production, medical devices, and microfluidics.

Objective: The study investigated the gut content and recorded morphometric and hematological parameters in the Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto). Materials and Methods: 24 samples of healthy birds (12 from each sex) were collected from different wetlands in Punjab, Pakistan, from December 2022 until February 2023. Birds were cap¬tured live for blood samples, morphometric, and gut analyses. Results: The current study revealed that mensural measurements showed no significant differences in all parameters except tail length, which was significantly longer in males (14.59 ± 0.30) compared to females (12.88 ± 0.43). Hematological parameters were hemoglobin, 23.95 gm/dl; red blood cells, 3.97 × 106/μl; white blood cells, 429.9.67 × 103/μl; hematocrit, 72.14%; mean cor¬puscular volume, 183.24 FL; mean corpuscular hemoglobin, 61.70 pg; mean corpuscular hemo¬globin concentration, 32.37 pg; platelets, 7.01/μl; and red cell distribution width, 110.86/μl. The percentages of neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils were 71.33%, 23.03%, 3.30%, and 1.43%, respectively. The gut content of the Eurasian collared dove mainly consisted of rice, wheat, corn, and millet seeds. Some stony materials were also present. Conclusion: Our study concluded that male and female Eurasian collared doves are alike in biometrics (except tail length) and hematological profiles. Gut content and weight were also similar. Males were slightly larger than females. The gut content showed that the Eurasian collared dove mainly feeds on rice, wheat, corn, and millet seeds. Background: Spotted redshank (Tringa erythropus) is a shorebird. Morphometric and feeding studies on birds were very important to understanding geographic distribution and it plays a key role in conservation of particular species. Objective: The present research was conducted to investigate hematological variation, food preference, and morphometric profiles of the spotted redshank (Tringa erythropus). Methods: Twenty samples (n = 10 for each sex) were collected from different wetlands. Blood was collected for hematological analysis and measuring tape was used for mensural profiles. For gut analysis, stomach was removed. Results: Results showed that body weight of males was heavier than body weight of females. All parameters, like body weight, body length, total wing span, primary wing, tarsal, meta-tarsal, body circumference, and tail length had greater values in males as compared with females, except head size. The male head size was smaller than the female head size. A significant difference was recorded in all blood parameters except hemoglobin and monocytes between the both sexes. Analysis of gut showed that the spotted redshank mostly feeds on Ceratopogonidae and larvae of Chironomidae. Conclusion: It is concluded that a significant difference was observed in morphometric profiles and hematological analysis and food preference between male and female spotted redshank (Tringa erythropus).

A localized magnetic field is a vector field that alters in space because of magnetic materials or electric currents. Some examples of localized magnetic fields are indoor localization, magnetic anomaly detection, magnetoencephalography, and quantum physics. Magnetic fields can be used to estimate the orientation and position of a device inside a building by measuring the changes in the magnetic field caused by ferromagnetic substances. On the other hand, a Tri-hybrid nanofluid can transfer heat better than a normal hybrid nanofluid by mixing three different nanoparticles with synergistic effects. It can have more varied physical and thermal properties by choosing different combinations of nanoparticles. That's why it has more possible uses in various fields such as solar thermal, biomedical, and industrial processes. Therefore, the goal of this research is to explore the complex dynamics of the localized magnetized force that affects the rotation of nanostructures and the vortex formation in the tri-hybrid nanofluid flow regime using the single-phase model, while the governing partial differential equations are discretized numerically. With the help of our self-developed computer codes in MATLAB language, we intend to understand the way these parameters affect the flow and thermal properties of the nanofluids. Additionally, the current work provides a novel analysis that makes it possible to investigate the flow lines and isotherms associated with the magnetic strips inside a flow field. It is discovered that the spinning of tri-hybrid nano-particles, which creates the intricate structure of vortices inside the flow regime, results from the magnetized field. Further, the investigations reveal that both the local skin friction (CfRe) and the Nusselt number (Nu) increased by up to 46% and 99% when the magnetic field is strengthened. Finally, adding more nanosized particles in the flow field result in increased both Nu and CfRe, but differently for different nanoparticles. Silver (Ag) had the highest increase in both Nu (55%) and CfRe (110%), showing strong thermal-fluid coupling. Alumina Al2O3 and Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) had lower increases in both Nu (33% and 25%) and CfRe (13% and 9%), showing weaker coupling in the flow regime.

The present work distinguishes the thermal attributes of zirconium oxide (ZrO2) and single wall-carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) in a three dimensional rotating frame under the magnetic field environment. Sodium alginate (NaC6H7O6) is assumed to be the base fluid. The slippage and convective conditions on boundary have also been incorporated. The analysis comprehends, comparatively, features of both SWCNTs-NaC6H7O6 and ZrO2–NaC6H7O6 nanofluids. The amalgamation of nanomaterial SWCNTs-ZrO2 in sodium alginate builds up the thermal characteristics. An algorithmic approach deals with the approximate solutions of the problem. The numerical algorithm is mainly based on order reduction and central difference discretization. A comparison, in limiting case, appraises the proficiency of the code. The outcomes are physically and numerically interpreted via graphical and tabular representations against the prime parameters. The nano-composition of SWCNTs-ZrO2 convincingly improves and embellishes the heat transport rate. It has been revealed from the results that higher the microrotation parameter Ω0, higher will be the thermal boundary layer thickness in both cases of nanofluids such as SWCNTs/NaC6H7O6 and ZrO2/NaC6H7O6. A sensible judgment of the outcomes discloses that SWCNTs possess, comparatively, better heat transfer features than zirconium oxide.

Vortices capture the attention of every scientist (as soon as they come into existence) while studying any flow problem because of their significance in comprehending fluid mixing and mass transport processes. A vortex is indeed a physical phenomenon that happens when a liquid or a gas flow in a circular motion. They are generated due to the velocity difference and may be seen in hurricanes, air moving across the plane wing, tornadoes, etc. The study of vortices is important for understanding various natural phenomena in different settings. This work explores the complex dynamics of the Lorentz force that drives the rotation of nanostructures and the emergence of intricate vortex patterns in a hybrid fluid with Fe3O4–Cu nanoparticles. The hybrid nanofluid is modeled as a single-phase fluid, and the partial differential equations (PDEs) that govern its behavior are solved numerically. This work also introduces a novel analysis that enables us to visualize the flow lines and isotherms around the magnetic strips in the flow domain. The Lorentz force confined to the strips causes the spinning of hybrid nanoparticles, resulting in complex vortex structures in the flow domain. The results indicate that the magnetic field lowers the Nusselt number by 34% while raising the skin friction by 9%. The Reynolds number amplifies the influence of the localized magnetic field on the flow dynamics. Lastly, the nano-scaled structures in the flow enhance the Nusselt number significantly while having a minor effect on the skin friction factor.

Vortices grab the attention of many scientists while analyzing any flow model due to their importance in interpreting fluid mixing and mass transport phenomena. Since vortices exist in the natural environment, so researchers need to investigate them whenever they are encountered. Solar collectors, automobile cooling, engine applications, thermal management, and machine cutting, are just a few of the major areas in which most hybrid nanofluids could help to improve overall performance. The goal of this study is to demonstrate the highly complex dynamics of a Lorentz force, which governs the rotation of nanoparticles and the composition of the complex configuration of eddies inside the fluid flow of the hybrid fluid carrying Silver (Ag), and Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles. The existing research offers an innovative analysis that investigates the isotherms and streamlines around the magnetic strips in the flow regime and thermal hydrogen energy bonds. The alternating direction implicit (ADI) methodology combined with central differences has been incorporated to determine the numerical solution of the problem. Confined Lorentz force is noticed to be a root of nano-sized hybrid particle's spinning, resulting in the complex structure of vortices in the flow field and the thermal hydrogen energy. The fixed values of the parameters that have been used in the simulation process are: Mn=5, Re=5, φ1 = 0.05, and φ2 = 0.02 unless otherwise mentioned. The findings reveal that, as the magnetic fields are strengthened, the degeneracy of both primary vortices can be seen immediately, which gives rise to two new relatively small vortices squeezed along the two vertical walls. However, as the Reynolds number increases, new vortices of different strengths and rotational directions in the flow regime can be noticed. It is found that the Reynolds number is responsible for increasing the Nussselt number along the lower horizontal wall. The magnetic parameter, on the other hand, adds a zigzag behavior to the Nusselt number. Finally, as Ag-TiO2 concentration increases, the Nusselt number becomes more sensitive.

A vortex is a location in a fluid where the flow revolves around an axis line, which may be flat or curved. Researchers must look at vortices whenever and wherever they are found since they are present in natural systems. The purpose of this investigation is to present an understanding of how the nanofluid flow (driven by an external mechanism) interacts with the magnetic field produced by a nearby paced magnetic source. While most of the scientific literature is enriched with investigations dealing with the problems assuming a uniform magnetic field occupying the flow field, the current analysis is devoted to studying the complex interaction of the spatially varying magneto force with the nanofluid flow. We have noticed that the magnetic field has caused the evolution of new vortices (which are very important while analyzing any flow model due to their importance in interpreting fluid mixing and mass transport phenomena) in the flow field, thus adding much more significance to our work. The single-phase model (SPM) has been used to describe the hybrid nanofluid whereas the numerical solution to the governing differential equations has been obtained by employing an algorithm based on the central difference discretization and the alternating direction implicit method. The governing factors for the current examination are the Reynolds number, the magneto variable, and the volumetric concentration of the nanoparticles, with the ranges, considered being 1≤Re≤150, 0≤Mn≤150 and 0≤ϕ≤0.2, respectively. The analysis reveals that the Nusselt number (Nu) steepens noticeably at the enclosure's upper left corner. 20% increment in nanoparticle volume fraction may result in up to 72% boost in the Nusselt quantity whilst causing an up to 33% decrease in skin friction. Furthermore, compared to copper, iron oxide nanoparticles are shown to be more dependent on drag force. The flow field is dominated by two almost similar main vortices while there is no magnetic source, but as the magnetic source gets stronger, the bottom vortex gets stronger. It enlarges and constricts the top vortex, breaking it down while creating two new, weaker vortices. As it produces three vortices at comparatively lower values of the pertinent parameters, the Reynolds number functions as a catalyst for the action of the magneto force variable. Finally, the Nusselt quantity and frictional factor both significantly alter once the nanostructure is incorporated into the base fluid.

Solar-powered cooling systems are one example of how solar energy may be used in the real world. Solar-powered air conditioners have become more popular in recent years. The problems caused by our reliance on fossil fuels may be surmounted with the help of solar cooling systems that use solar collectors. Solar cooling systems may utilize low-grade solar energy, making them popular in the construction industry. Solar cooling systems powered by photovoltaic–thermal (PVT) collectors have been the subject of much research to improve the thermodynamic and economic performance of solar cooling systems. This research focuses on exploring the potential of solar-generated heat for use in cooling systems. This study will also examine the current challenges involved with using solar energy in cooling applications, as well as the possible benefits that may help pave the way for more research and greater employment of heat gain from the solar system in various cooling applications.

Background and Objective: Thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS) is developed to determine the risk of malignancy in patients with thyroid nodules. The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of TI-RADS classification for diagnosing malignant thyroid nodules taking Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) as a gold standard in the local population. Methods: In this cross-sectional validation study, 201 patients presenting with thyroid nodules at the Department of Radiology, Bakhtawar Amin Hospital Multan, Pakistan from July 2020 to December 2020 were included. In all patients, thyroid nodules were evaluated on grey scale (B-mode) modality. TI-RADS score was calculated for each patient. Patients with TI-RADS score 4 and 5 were labelled as having malignant nodules. After that FNAC samples were taken and sent for histopathologic evaluation of thyroid nodules. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of TI-RADS taking FNAC as a gold standard were determined. Results: The mean age of the patients was 47.8 ± 4.5 years; there were 129 (67.2%) women and 72 (35.82%) men. There were 42 patients who tested true positive and 36 patients tested false positive and 12 patients were false negative and 111 patients true negative. The TIRADS sensitivity was 77.8%, specificity was 75.5%, PPV was 53.8%, and NPV 90.2%. the diagnostic accuracy was 76.1%. Conclusion: Differentiating benign thyroid nodules from malignant using the TI-RADS score has a high diagnostic accuracy. Our study results support the TIRADS as a first-line imaging evaluation for diagnosis of thyroid malignancy.

Fiscal and local content policies aimed at promoting linkages between mining and other economic sectors have been informed by theories built on historical observations dating back to the 1950s. This paper contends that there is a need to rethink theories about mining-based economic linkages and the prospects for structural change based on an improved understanding of existing and potential inter-sectoral linkages. Using the input–output tables for Tanzania and Botswana, we apply the Partial Hypothetical Extraction Method within the Leontief and Gosh input–output frameworks to examine the linkages between the mining and quarrying sector and other economic sectors within these two economies. We find that, for Botswana, possible linkage pathways lie in scaling-up coal, soda ash and salt mining and investing in glass, polymer, and chemicals manufacturing. For Tanzania, opportunities for linkage pathways lie with the mining and manufacturing of non-metallic and construction materials as well as metallic minerals and natural gas. For both countries, the prospects for transforming their economies away from a heavy reliance on mineral extraction hinges on leveraging extractives for infrastructure, innovative technology, and technical skills, as well as capturing business opportunities, knowledge, and financial returns to invest in more diversified economic activities.

Abstract Background Curculigo recurvata (C. recurvata) is an enthnomedicinally important herb reported to have significant medicinal values. The present study aimed to explore the in vivo and in silico anti‐nociceptive and anti‐diarrheal effects of a C. recurvate rhizome methanol extract (Me‐RCR). Methods The analgesic effects of Me‐RCR were assessed using acetic acid‐induced writhing and the formalin‐induced flicking test. The drugs were administered intraperitoneally (IP) at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight (bw). Anti‐diarrheal activity was evaluated by assessing intestinal motility, hypersecretion, and fecal score in mice at oral doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg·bw. The current research was planned to measure the comparative phytochemical and anti-oxidative potential of aqueous and methanolic extracts of two indigenously grown millet varieties of Pakistan. The locally available millet varieties, i.e. MB-87 and AF-POP flours were chemically characterized through the proximate and mineral analysis. The antioxidant extract was prepared in water and methanol. The extracts were screened for saponins, terpenoids, flavonoids and tannins; methanolic extract of MB-87 and AF-POP showed flavonoids in an average quantity (++), whilst aqueous extract had only trace (+) values. The phytochemical screening showed the presence of saponins only in the aqueous extract of both varieties. However, terpenoids and tannins were present in both methanolic and aqueous extracts. During antioxidant evaluation, millet methanolic extracts showed higher level of TPC and DPPH of MB-87 and AF-POP as 0.30±0.001 & 0.23±0.0012 mg GAE/g and 48±0.96 &46±1.09%, respectively. However, the β-carotene activity of the aqueous extract of both varieties (MB-87 and AF-POP) was recorded higher. In a nutshell, the methanolic extract of MB-87 has an appreciable atioxidant profile. Furher research should be planned to screen the important constituents of Pakistani millet varieties.

In this report, nanoparticles (NPs) of zinc oxide (ZnO) were synthesized through auto-combustion route and annealed in air at different temperatures: 200, 400, 600 and 800 °C. The single phase nature has been confirmed via X-ray diffraction (XRD) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) analysis. The average of crystallite sizes increased progressively as the thermal annealing increase and ranging between 13.8 and 39.7 nm. Raman spectra resembled to that of hexagonal ZnO wurtzite structure, the narrowing in E2H (438 cm−1) Raman phonon mode in sequence with further annealing indicates improvement in the crystallinity and reduction in the local atomic defects of oxygen vacancy (Vo2+). The defects create energy deep bands within the band gap region and diminish the UV emission efficiency that has been assessed through photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopic. The donor band of oxygen vacancy (Vo2+) was ∼1 eV above valence band (VB), whereas the acceptor band of zinc vacancy (VZn2−) was at ∼0.85 eV above the VB. The ZnO NPs that was annealed at lowest temperature of 200 °C exhibited different behavior trend in which the UV-PL band was diminished clearly, blue shifted to lower wave length and appeared as small plateau at the range of 380–270 nm corresponding to high band gap energy (3.8–4.6 eV), which is indicative to low crystal quality and presence of clusters. We used density function theory (DFT) calculation for computing the HOMO-LUMO band gap of supposed clusters ZnnOn (n = 2, 3, 5, 10). The high band gap energy of the simulated clusters was agreed with that of ZnO NPs annealed at 200 °C that gives indirect evidence on the formation of clusters. Abstract Complete heart block (CHB) is defined as the complete absence of atrioventricular conduction. Electrical pacing is the treatment of choice. We present a case of CHB which is interesting not only due to being a diagnostic dilemma in the emergency department but also for its management and the final diagnosis.

Sleep is one of the most important functions of the life. The disturbance in sleep or quality of sleep leads to several dysfunctions of the human body. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of sleep disorders, their possible risk factors and their association with other health problems. The data was collected from the educational community of the Pakistani population. The Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) was used to evaluate the insomnia and the sleep apnea was evaluated through a simple questionnaire method. The blood samples were collected to perform significant blood tests for clinical investigations. Current research revealed that the individuals in the educational community had poor sleep quality. A total of 1998 individuals from the educational community were surveyed, 1584 (79.28%) of whom had a sleep disorders, including insomnia (45.20%) and sleep apnea (34.08%). The measured onset of age for males and females was 30.35 years and 31.07 years respectively. The Clinical investigations showed that the sleep had significant impact on the hematology of the patients. Higher levels of serum uric acid and blood sugar were recorded with a sleep disorder. The individuals of the educational community were using the sleeping pills. The other associated diseases were mild tension, headaches, migraines, depression, diabetes, obesity, and myopia. The use of beverage, bad mood, medical condition, mental stress, disturbed circadian rhythms, workload and extra use of smartphone were major risk factors of sleep disorders. It was concluded that the insomnia was more prevalent than the sleep apnea. Furthermore, life changes events were directly linked with disturbance of sleep. Tension, depression, headaches, and migraine were more associated with sleep disorders than all other health issues.

The current study is designed to diversify daily diets like Chapatti with millet (minor cereal) flour. Wheat-millet composite flours (WMCFs) were prepared by incorporating millet flour at 20 %, 40 % and 60 %, and then the rheology of WMCFs was assessed through Mixolab 2. Afterwards, pregelatinized starch (PGS) was added to WMCFs to prepare Chapatti. The product's quality was evaluated by determining water-soluble starches, in-vitro enzyme digestibility, textural hardness, color and sensory characteristics. The results showed that adding millet flour to Chapatti decreased water absorption, and dough development time from 56 % to 50 % and 2.7 min. to 1.5 min. respectively. The Chapatti's hardness was increased, while color (l* values) of Chapatti decreased with millet flour's addition at a constant level of PGS. In the product, Chapatti containing 40 % millet flour and 2 % PGS showed excellent textural hardness and sensory characteristics.

Palm grass (Curculigo recurvata) is an ethnomedicinally important herb reported to have significant medicinal values. The present study aimed to evaluate the antidepressant and anxiolytic activities of a methanol extract of C. recurvata rhizome (Me-RCR) through different approaches. The antidepressant and anxiolytic properties of Me-RCR were assessed by using elevated plus maze (EPM), hole-board (HBT), tail suspension (TST), and forced swimming (FST) tests in Swiss Albino mice. The in-depth antioxidative potential of Me-RCR was also evaluated through DPPH radical scavenging activity, ferric-reducing power capacity, total phenolic, flavonoid, flavonol, and antioxidant content analysis. Computational investigations were performed using computer-aided methods for screening the anxiolytic, antidepressant, and antioxidative activities of the selected lead molecules. Treatment with Me-RCR (200 and 400 mg/kg, b.w.) notably increased the number of open arm entries and the time spent in the EPM test. In the HBT, Me-RCR exhibited significant anxiolytic activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg, whereas similar activity was observed at 400 mg/kg in the EPM test. Me-RCR significantly decreased the immobility time in a dose-dependent manner in both TST and FST. The IC50 for DPPH and reducing power capacity assay were found to be 18.56 and 193 μg/mL, respectively. Promising outcomes were noted for the determination of total phenolics, flavonoids, flavonols, and antioxidant capacity. In the case of computer-aided studies, nyasicoside showed promising binding energy for antidepressant and anxiolytic activities, whereas isocurculigine demonstrated promising effects as an antioxidant. Overall, these findings suggest that Me-RCR could be a favourable therapeutic candidate for the treatment of mental and psychiatric disorders, as well as a good source of antioxidants.

Interpreting the complex interaction of nanostructured fluid flow with a dipole in a duct, with peripherally uniform temperature distribution, is the main focus of the current work. This paper also sheds light on the changes in the Nusselt number, temperature profiles, and velocity distributions for the fully developed nanofluid flow in a vertical rectangular duct due to a dipole placed near a corner of the duct. A finite volume approach has been incorporated for the numerical study of the problem. It is interesting to note the unusually lower values of the Nusselt number for the higher values of the ratio Gr/Re. Due to the nanostructure in the fluid, an enhancement in the Nusselt number has been noted, which is strongly supported by the magnetic field caused by the dipole. However, as the duct shape is transformed from rectangular to square, the Nusselt number is reduced remarkably. Further, as the dipole is brought nearer to the duct corner, the Nusselt number increases significantly. On the other hand, the flow reversal in the middle of the duct has been noted at higher values of the ratio Gr/Re. The dipole is noted to have a low impact on the reversal flow as well as on the temperature distribution.

Background: Congenital hepatic hemangioma usually presents with abdominal distension. Rarely it may cause intestinal obstruction. We present a case of congenital hepatic hemangioma causing neonatal intestinal obstruction. Case Presentation: A 4-day-old neonate presented with clinical and radiological features of neonatal intestinal obstruction. On exploration, a loop of jejunum was found adherent with a hepatic mass, arising from the left lobe of the liver. The hepatic mass profusely bled in an attempt of removing the adherent jejunal loop. Thus, the adherent portion was isolated and jejunojejunal end to end anastomosis was done. The hepatic mass along with an adherent small piece of jejunum was also excised. Histopathology showed hepatic hemangioma. The patient is doing fine on the 10-month follow-up. Conclusion: We report a rare presentation of congenital hepatic hemangioma with neonatal intestinal obstruction. Although the optimum therapy for hepatic hemangioma is medical management, at times, surgical resection becomes a necessary option.

This article aims at investigating the relevance of a gender perspective in societies where women are mainly responsible for the household and childcare. For this purpose, the activities of two environmental and women’s empowerment–related nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) from Pakistan, Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) and Aurat (woman) Foundation, have been investigated with the help of a case study methodology. Semi-structured interviews have been conducted with 12 females. Through a feminist approach, this study analyzes the goals, scope, and programs of the selected NGOs in environmental education, ecofeminism, and women’s empowerment. Empirical results suggest that when a woman is environmental-aware, she has the potential to make more sustainable choices, and thus educate other members of the family.

The use of marginal-quality waters, not limited to brackish/saline and treated sewage effluent (TSE), is called reclaimed water. Reclaimed water is a sustainable source in the future for use in agriculture, essentially required to offset the food demand of a rapidly growing population. Moreover, the sustainable recovery of reclaimed water is essential for humanity to satisfy extreme sanitation and water-supply demands. To increase access to water supply, alternate water resources’ use, existing water resources’ degradation, and improved water-use efficiency are imperative. There is a high potential to address these factors by using reclaimed water as an alternative source. The reclaimed water treated at a tertiary level has the potential for use in crop production, especially for forage crops, irrigating urban landscapes, recreational and environmental activities, industry, and aquifer recharge to increase strategic water reserves in water-scarce countries. This way, we can save precious freshwater that can be utilized for other purposes. Eminently, freshwater applications for industrial and agronomic sectors account for 20% and 67%, respectively, depleting freshwater resources. The use of reclaimed water in agriculture can significantly reduce pressure on freshwater. However, if the quality of reclaimed water does not comply with international standards, it may cause serious health risks (diseases) and soil pollution (heavy metals).

Objective: To compare the outcome in terms of mean time to disappearance of cough, wheezing, crackles and length of hospital stay in patients treated with sodium chloride 3% with sodium chloride 0.9% as nebulisation diluent in children for suffering from bronchiolitis. Methods: The prospective study was conducted at the Department of Paediatric Medicine Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, from November 2014 to April 2015, and comprised children aged between 6 weeks and 24 months having bronchiolitis. Group A received 3% sodium chloride and Group B received 0.9% of the same solution. Duration of cough, wheezing, crackles and duration of stay at hospital were compared between the groups. Data was analysed using SPSS 17. Results: Of the 100 patients, there were 50(50%) in Group A with a mean age of 7.17±4.46, and as many in Group B with a mean age of 6.6±3.74. The heat transfer Magnetohydrodynamics flows have been potentially used to enhance the thermal characteristics of several systems such as heat exchangers, electromagnetic casting, adjusting blood flow, X-rays, magnetic drug treatment, cooling of nuclear reactors, and magnetic devices for cell separation. Our concern in this article is to numerically investigate the flow of an incompressible Magnetohydrodynamics micropolar fluid with heat transportation through a channel having porous walls. By employing the suitable dimensionless coordinates, the flow model equations are converted into a nonlinear system of dimensionless ordinary differential equations, which are then numerically treated for different preeminent parameters with the help of quasi-linearization. The system of complex nonlinear differential equations can efficiently be solved using this technique. Impact of the problem parameters for microrotation, temperature, and velocity are interpreted and discussed through tables and graphs. The present numerical results are compared with those presented in previous literature and examined to be in good contact with them. It has been noted that the imposed magnetic field acts as a frictional force which not only increases the shear stresses and heat transfer rates at the channel walls, but also tends to rotate the micro particles in the fluid more rapidly. Furthermore, viscous dissipation may raise fluid temperature to such a level that the possibility of thermal reversal exists, at the geometric boundaries of the domain. It is therefore recommended that external magnetic fields and viscous dissipation effects may be considered with caution in applications where thermal control is required.

This study tests the Feldstein and Horioka hypothesis (1980) for four South Asian developing economies and an oil producing economy, Saudi Arabia. Performing cointegration tests on annual data, the results indicate that approximately one to one long run relationship between investment and saving is present in India and Saudi Arabia thus validating the above hypothesis while a weak form relation for Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka shows the existence of Feldstein and Horioka puzzle.

This study examines the sustainability of the current account deficit using Pakistani data over the period 1974-2013. Employing the intertemporal budget constraint model and using ARDL bound testing approach, it is concluded that there is a long run relationship between real exports and imports. However, the hypothesis of one to one relationship between the two variables does not hold in its strong form. This highlights the need for better policies to improve the current account balance in the long run.

Islamic law has granted countless rights to the women by ending up their exploitation. One for the most significance rights is her right of dissolution of marriage in case her husband is failed to pay her maintenance. In this scenario, the researcher has comparatively analyzed Islamic law and Pakistani law by answering the question: Dose the women has the right of dissolution of her marriage when her husband could not fulfil her maintenance? After the arguments and discussions, the study leads to the conclusion that the woman has the right to ask the court to dissolve her marriage when she unable to have her maintenance from her husband’s side so that she may not has to bear the burden of insolvency without any logical reason. The study also reveals that before the promulgation of Islam when the women’s rights were being condemned and violated everywhere, Islam was the only religion which raised the voice for protection of women’s rights and bestowed them respectable position in community by providing them their legal rights. Moreover, the study is the rejection of invalid objection for the enemies of Islam that Islam has demonstrated invidious reservation in the case of women’s rights by showing biasness.
