In this study, cathodic arc electron / metal iontreatment (CA-EMIT) technique was used to modify Ti surfaces in Ni cathodic arcplasma. At this novel method, AC bias was applied to the Ti substrates. Inpositive cycle of AC bias, the substrates were heated by electrons while nickelions were directed toward the substrate surface in negative cycle. The surfacemodification processes were performed at 5 different temperatures: 1073 K (800°C), 1273 K (1000 °C), 1373 K (1100 °C), 1473 K (1200 °C) and 1573 (1300 °C).The samples were characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS analysis. The effect ofsubstrate temperature and cathode current were investigated on microstructureof the samples. This process provides rapid diffusion of nickel into thetitanium and high diffusion depths were obtained compared to literaturestudies.

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2010, Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2010, Bu çalışmada, galyum oksit (Ga2O3) düz ve eğik açılı ince filmler elektron demeti buharlaştırma yöntemiyle üretilmiş ve özellikleri belirlenmiştir. Algılama katmanı olarak Ga2O3 düz ve eğik açılı ince filmlerin kaplandığı sensör yapıları oluşturulmuştur. İnce filmlerin analizinde XRD ve SEM yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Üretilen Ga2O3 düz ve eğik açılı ince filmlerin ısıl işlemler ile yapıları optimize edilmiştir. Eğik açılı Ga2O3 ince filmlerin ısıl işlemler ile yapılarındaki porozitenin ve kolonsal yapıların değişimi incelenmiştir. Isıl işlemler ile kolonsal yapıların bir araya geldiği ve daha geniş boşlukların oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Oluşturulan sensör yapılarının ise mavi ve beyaz floresan ışık altında fotoiletkenlik ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Eğik açılı Ga2O3 ince filmlerin, düz ince filmlerden daha yüksek hassasiyet gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda UV dalgaboyuna sahip mavi floresan ışık uygulandığında; eğik açılı ince filmin direnç değişiminin, düz ince filmin direnç değişimine oranının; beyaz floresan ışık altındakine göre daha fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir., In this study, gallium oxide (Ga2O3) thin and oblique angled thin films are produced by e-beam evaporation and their properties are determined. Sensor structures that have Ga2O3 thin film sensing layers are formed. XRD and SEM methods are used to analyze thin films. Produced thin and oblique angled thin films are optimized by heat treatments. Changes in porosity and columnar structures of oblique angled Ga2O3 thin films are researched after heat treatments. As a result of heat treatments, at oblique angled Ga2O3 thin films, the formation of larger columnar structures and holes are determined. Photoconductivity measurements of produced sensor structures are made under blue and white fluorescent light. Oblique angled thin films are determined that they are more sensitive to radiation. Also, when blue fluorescent is applied, the ratio of conductivity change of oblique angled thin films to conductivity change of thin films is higher than the ratio at white fluorescent light., Yüksek Lisans, M.Sc.
