In recent years, industrial andresearch communities havedevoted considerable effortto the digitalisation of AECOOprocesses with the mainobjective of achieving a newparadigm for any Design andConstruction project whichshould allow the highly desiredimprovement of the productivityin the sector.The basic axis of this revolution hasbeen the subsequent levels of BIMmethodology implementation across theworld, which has recently reached animportant milestone with the creationof the ISO-19650 international standardand includes the data migration fromthe previous design and constructionphases into the Facilities Management(FM) systems and for on-goingoperations. Besides this trend, anotherparadigm change is currently boostingacross manufacturing sectors whichare moving to the Industry 4.0 concept,by the improvement Product LifecycleManagement (PLM) methodology basedon Smart, Connected Product Systems(SCPS) or Digital Twins. Following this,the document presents the analysis ofthe current State of the Art to developa generic definition for Building DigitalTwins as well as their adaptation asan extension of current SoA AECOOprocedures, based on this ISO-19650to hence allow an easier uptake of thisPLM in the AECOO sector and beyond,by considering the most significant realestate stakeholders also during Operationand Maintenance.Devised within the scope of theSPHERE EU Project, the proposeddefinitions aim to offer a standardframework for future development ofBuilding Digital Twins, providing anenvironment for Smart, ConnectedAsset Systems (SCAS) throughout theirentire life cycle.

A review of existing ontologies inconstruction is presented (updatedSeptember 2022). Motivation, alignmentsand final applications with special intereston methodologies. Software Tools arepresented in an Appendix. Some usecases are presented with differentorientations.Final conclusions are oriented to newpaths to follow in future developments,considering other technologies andcommercial solutions nowadays. Morethan new ontologies the use of existingontologies as DICon1 could help tostandardize and make an ontologiesmap for construction possible. Progresswith standards, as mentioned in aspecific chapter about status of groupCEN442 WG4, is essential to get agood level of interoperability, but itfaces complex technical challenges.And the most sophisticated and perfectimplementation sometimes means anon-practical approach, and too rigid tobe used by the industry.

Nowadays, discussion across the construction industry about moving away fromsilos in different phases of the design and construction process has become a hottopic. Utilising key project data through integrated systems and technologies in aneffort to eliminate common problems such as re-entry of data or data redundancyis a matter of traceability and trustworthiness, hence controlling the risks. Inorder to achieve such an integrated information flow across the life cycle of anasset, data interoperability is extremely important in the AECOO (Architecture,Engineering and Construction, Owner and Operator) industry as the industryencounters a lot of complexity like many stakeholders, one-off projects and anever-changing environment.

The main objective of deliverable D4.4 is to recollect into a specificdocument the description, operation and functioning of the iESD_E andFlink2Go tools, as well as their integration on the Sphere platform interms of communications workflow, inputs and outputs andinteroperability with other tools. Lastly to describe the testingprocedures to carry out and the results expected.

KPIs related with the building renovation process, which will be enabled by the digital twin approach will be identified. This will cover: - Energy efficiency and operational performance metrics - Environmental performance metrics - Waste management and Circularity metrics - Construction process efficiency metrics Subtask 2.2.1 Environmental & Circularity Assessment Methodology (EKO): Circularity Assessment Methodology Development – Methodologies and assessment criteria for the improvement of the circularity and resource efficiency will be identified. Circular Economy Action Plan (COM/2015/0614) and 2018 Circular Economy Package will be addressed during the selection of platform methodology. Relevant quantities benchmarking metrics, and KPIs and information the required data for the dynamic assessment will be identified. Environmental Assessment Methodology Development - Assessment methodology will be compliant with the ISO 14040 series standards and the ILCD Handbook promoted by the European Commission. In addition, it will help to support the project implementation accordingly to the eco-design principles, as it is recommended in the Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC). The planned cradle-to-grave LCA study will be modularly built based on data gathered in the platform with a converging Material Flow Analysis approach, that allow the study of the financial equivalents of the products and services provided that will allow the Life Cycle Cost analyses approach and support the exploitation of the technology. Subtask 2.2.2 Life Cycle Cost Assessment methodology through Digital Twin Platform (Leader: EKO): To optimize and demonstrate the economic sustainability of the proposed concept, the Life Cycle Costing (LCC) methodology will be implemented in order to predict and assess the cost performance of the SPHERE solutions. The LCC study will follow the recommendations set in the Code of Practice on LCC published by SETAC and adapting the LCC related ISO standards developed for specific cases (e.g. ISO 15686 for building sector or the EN-ISO 15663 series for Petroleum and natural gas industries). LCC will be built in parallel to the material flow analyses methodology and functionality developed in the Task 7.1, with a capacity to analyses the whole life cycle of the building including the renovation, construction and usage of the building. The primary approach of this service will be to quantify the financial benefits of the platform within the whole life cycle. Subtask 2.2.3 Social Life Cycle Assessment Methodology (Leader: VTT): Complementary to the environmental and economic assessments in WP6. In this task, the social impacts of the proposed solution will be determined by means of the social life cycle assessment methodology following the UNEP/SETAC (2009). With that whole approach, the three aspects of sustainability will be covered. Following this guidelines, the result of the Task will be the a holistic sustainability assessment methodology definition, that is compliant with the digital twin based renovation process which will be later integrated as a software service within the SPHERE platform. &nbsp

This Deliverable provides environmental indicators and sustainable criteria (referred in Task 1.5) to guide chemistry, materials and technology selections during the development of the prototype.

The concept of “Building Digital Twins” needs to be well defined.

D1.1 Internal Progress report ready for revision in the SPHERE General Assembly meeting is produced and developed within WP1-Project Management, specifically under Task 1.1 Scientific project coordination and management.&nbsp

The deliverable introduces requirements, software architecture andontology for the digitalization put in action in SPHERE project. First, therequirements are gathered together from earlier work in WP2. Then,we present the software architecture for the Digital Twinecosystem inSPHERE together with ontology, to be validated and applied in usecases. Finally, concluding remarks are stated.

This deliverable explains principles of the Digital Twin platformimplementation, its services and how usability has been considered.First, it is clarified how the implementation of digital twin platform hasbeen performed. Then, the services developed under WP3 areintroduced and explained, concluding in a list of SPHERE Services frompartners explaining also briefly how their integration to the SPHEREecosystem is carried out. Finally, we explain how qualities of usabilityhave been addressed as inter-project practice, following three-levelprocess including heuristic evaluation, trial testing and actual testing.

Report on simulation and modelling with regards to long term feasibility and self-sufficiency

In recent years, industrial and research communities have devoted considerable effort to the digitalisation of AECOO processes with the main objective of achieving a new paradigm for any Design and Construction project which should allow the highly desired improvement of the productivity in the sector. Devised within the scope of the SPHERE EU Project, the proposed definitions aim to offer a standard framework for future development of Building Digital Twins, providing an environment for Smart, Connected Asset Systems (SCAS) throughout their entire life cycle.

Description of work generate a general IDDS framework for the development of the renovation solutions for building residential projects covering: i) Potential and needs of improvements in the construction and renovation. Focus will be given to the core objectives of the SPHERE methodology that aim to deliver the impact of the project. Opportunities delivered by the SPHERE concept and how the digital twin can enable the needs will be addressed, such as improved sustainability, shortened project life span , improved information exchange among stakeholders and social acceptance, improved project management, results monitoring and improved holistic benefits to the end users which will be the exploitable results of the project. ii) Identification of Process Scenarios utilizing the Digital Twin. Based on the identified opportunities and how the digital twin concept can address them, workflow scenarios on the process needs and the role of the SPHERE platform services will be identified. This will be carried out in collaboration with the administrative and technical acceptance analyses carried out in the task, ensuring the delivery of useable and scalable workflow scenarios. The relevant user types and actors will be identified, in close collaboration with the stakeholder and advisory board members, end user and demo support partners of the project consortium, to provide the usability and replicability of the workflows. iii) Assessment of Barriers and need for Change Management. Known barriers for the implementation of digitized ICT solutions in the renovation domain will be identified, as an essential aspect of the IDDS approach. Regulatory and technical compliance will be assessed. Behavioural and operational change requirements will be identified and solutions will be proposed. Emerging technologies in the sector which will be integrated into the digital twin approach, and the adoption and acceptance of the process stakeholders will be analysed. Social acceptance needs and their monitoring and collaboration methodology will be identified.

In this monograph are included some of the contributions, either as a poster or as an oral communication, to the Second Conference of the Iberian Section of the ISCAR (International Society for Cultural and Activit Research) held at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Collell (Girona) on April 21, 22 and 23 of 2014. The title of the meeting was “People and connected societies: new challenges, new contributions”. Some of the research groups that works on sociocultural perspective in Spain attended the congress. In line of the central themes of the conference, the monograph is organized into six thematic sections: 1) identity, learning and digital environments, 2) culture and human development, 3) family, school and community, 4) school education and teacher development, 5) multiliteracy and emerging educational practices, and 6) issues and debates in cultural psychology.

The II International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry and Regenerative Medicine, held from November 22nd to 24th at, this event was directed to undergraduate and graduate students, professionals from the medical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology innovation management and entrepreneurs, as well as researchers involved in the areas of Medicinal Chemistry, Regenerative Medicine and Biotechnology.The event aimed to promote the dissemination of new research and innovations that are at the frontier of knowledge in the area of Regenerative Medicine and Medicinal Chemistry and also to promote interaction with companies interested in these researches. Thus, as a result of the event, it is hoped to encourage discussion, sharing of knowledge, articulation of partnerships for new research projects and also generate a spark of ideas that can be led by future entrepreneurs.In this second edition, a scientific session was held with the presentation of posters.
