This paper develops a social media-disaster resilience analysis framework by categorizing types of social media use and their challenges to better understand and assess its role in disaster resilience research and management. The framework is derived primarily from several case studies of Twitter use in three hurricane events in the United States – Hurricanes Isaac, Sandy, and Harvey. The paper first outlines four major contributions of social media data for disaster resilience research and management, which include serving as an effective communication platform, providing ground truth information for emergency response and rescue operations, providing information on people’s sentiments, and allowing predictive modeling. However, there are four key challenges to its uses, which include easy spreading of false information, social and geographical disparities of Twitter use, technical issues on processing and analyzing big and noisy data, especially on improving the locational accuracy of the tweets, and algorithm bias in AI and other types of modeling. Then, the paper proposes twenty strategies that the four sectors of the social media community – organizations, individuals, social media companies, and researchers – could take to improve social media use to increase disaster resilience.

Abstract The pharmacokinetics of vancomycin vary among neonates, and we aimed to conduct population pharmacokinetic analysis to determine the optimal dosage of vancomycin in Korean neonates. From a retrospective chart review, neonates treated with vancomycin from 2008 to 2017 in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) were included. Vancomycin concentrations were collected based on therapeutic drug monitoring, and other patient characteristics were gathered through electronic medical records. We applied nonlinear mixed-effect modeling to build the population pharmacokinetic model. One- and two-compartment models with first-order elimination were evaluated as potential structural pharmacokinetic models. Allometric and isometric scaling was applied to standardize pharmacokinetic parameters for clearance and volume of distribution, respectively, using fixed powers (0.75 and 1, respectively, for clearance and volume). The predictive performance of the final model was developed, and dosing strategies were explored using Monte Carlo simulations with AUC0–24 targets 400–600. The patient cohort included 207 neonates, and 900 vancomycin concentrations were analyzed. Only 37.4% of the analyzed concentrations were within trough concentrations 5–15 µg/mL. A one-compartment model with first-order elimination best described the vancomycin pharmacokinetics in neonates. Postmenstrual age (PMA) and creatinine clearance (CLcr) affected the clearance of vancomycin, and model evaluation confirmed the robustness of the final model. Population pharmacokinetic modeling and dose optimization of vancomycin in Korean neonates showed that vancomycin clearance was related to PMA and CLcr, as well as body weight. A higher dosage regimen than the typical recommendation is suggested.

Social media such as Twitter is increasingly being used as an effective platform to observe human behaviors in disastrous events. However, uneven social media use among different groups of population in different regions could lead to biased consequences and affect disaster resilience. This paper studies the Twitter use during 2017 Hurricane Harvey in 76 counties in Texas and Louisiana. We seek to answer a fundamental question: did social-geographical disparities of Twitter use exist during the three phases of emergency management (preparedness, response, recovery)? We employed a Twitter data mining framework to process the data and calculate two indexes: Ratio and Sentiment. Regression analyses between the Ratio indexes and the social-geographical characteristics of the counties at the three phrases reveal significant social and geographical disparities in Twitter use during Hurricane Harvey. Communities with higher disaster-related Twitter use in Harvey generally were communities having better social and geographical conditions. These results of Twitter use patterns can be used to compare with future similar studies to see whether the Twitter use disparities have increased or decreased. Future research is also needed to examine the effects of Twitter use disparities on disaster resilience and to test whether Twitter use can predict community resilience.

ABSTRACT Critical illness and extracorporeal circulation, such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), may alter the pharmacokinetics of piperacillin-tazobactam. We aimed to develop a population pharmacokinetic model of piperacillin-tazobactam in critically ill patients during ECMO or CRRT and investigate the optimal dosage regimen needed to achieve ≥90% of patients attaining the piperacillin pharmacodynamic target of 100% of dosage time above MIC of 16 mg/L. This prospective observational study included 26 ECMO patients, of which 13 patients received continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF). A population pharmacokinetic model was developed using nonlinear mixed-effects models, and Monte Carlo simulations were performed to evaluate creatinine clearance (CrCL) and infusion method in relation to the probability of target attainment (PTA) in four patient groups according to combination of ECMO and CVVHDF. A total of 244 plasma samples were collected. In a two-compartment model, clearance decreased during ECMO and CVVHDF contributed to an increase in the volume of distribution. The range of PTA reduction as CrCL increased was greater in the order of intermittent bolus, extended infusion, and continuous infusion method. Continuous infusion should be considered in critically ill patients with CrCL of ≥60 mL/min, and at least 12, 16, and 20 g/day was required for CrCL of MIC (16 mg/L, clinical breakpoint for Pseudomonas aeruginosa), continuous infusions would have achieved the highest percentage of target attainment compared to intermittent bolus or extended infusion if the total daily dose was the same. Continuous infusion should be considered in critically ill patients with creatinine clearance of ≥60 mL/min, regardless of ECMO or CVVHDF.

Background: Our objective was to determine an optimal dosage regimen of meropenem in patients receiving veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO) by developing a pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) model. Methods: This was a prospective cohort study. Blood samples were collected during ECMO (ECMO-ON) and after ECMO (ECMO-OFF). The population pharmacokinetic model was developed using nonlinear mixed-effects modeling. A Monte Carlo simulation was used (n = 10,000) to assess the probability of target attainment. Results: Thirteen adult patients on ECMO receiving meropenem were included. Meropenem pharmacokinetics was best fitted by a two-compartment model. The final pharmacokinetic model was: CL (L/h) = 3.79 × 0.44CRRT, central volume of distribution (L) = 2.4, peripheral volume of distribution (L) = 8.56, and intercompartmental clearance (L/h) = 21.3. According to the simulation results, if more aggressive treatment is needed (100% fT > MIC target), dose increment or extended infusion is recommended. Conclusions: We established a population pharmacokinetic model for meropenem in patients receiving V-A ECMO and revealed that it is not necessary to adjust the dosage depending on V-A ECMO. Instead, more aggressive treatment is needed than that of standard treatment, and higher dosage is required without continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Also, extended infusion could lead to better target attainment, and we could provide updated nomograms of the meropenem dosage regimen.

Background: A large proportion of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) relapse after drug discontinuation despite achieving a stable state of infliximab-induced clinical remission. Resuming the use of the same tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitors in patients who relapse following TNF-α inhibitor discontinuation was suggested as a treatment strategy. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of infliximab retreatment in patients with IBD. Methods: A systematic literature search to shortlist relevant studies was conducted using the MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, and SCOPUS databases for studies published from inception to August 2020. Results: Nine studies were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled clinical remission rate of infliximab retreatment in patients with IBD was 85% (95% confidence interval (CI), 81–89%) for induction treatment and 73% (95% CI, 66–80%) for maintenance treatment. A clinical remission rate following infliximab reintroduction was achieved in a greater proportion of patients with Crohn’s disease (87%; 95% CI, 83–91%) than in those with ulcerative colitis (78%; 95% CI, 61–91%) for induction treatment, but the difference was not statistically significant. Infusion-related reactions after infliximab retreatment occurred in 9% of patients with IBD (95% CI, 3–16%). Conclusion: Infliximab retreatment showed high clinical remission rates with tolerable infusion-related reactions in patients with IBD who achieved remission with initial infliximab treatment but relapsed after its discontinuation. We suggest infliximab as a viable alternative in patients with IBD who previously responded well to infliximab treatment.

Abstract Background Sufentanil is commonly used for analgesia and sedation during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Both ECMO and the pathophysiological changes derived from critical illness have significant effects on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of drugs, yet reports of ECMO and sufentanil PK are scarce. Here, we aimed to develop a population PK model of sufentanil in ECMO patients and to suggest dosing recommendations. Methods This prospective cohort PK study included 20 patients who received sufentanil during venoarterial ECMO (VA-ECMO). Blood samples were collected for 96 h during infusion and 72 h after cessation of sufentanil. A population PK model was developed using nonlinear mixed effects modelling. Monte Carlo simulations were performed using the final PK parameters with two typical doses. Results A two-compartment model best described the PK of sufentanil. In our final model, increased volume of distribution and decreased values for clearance were reported compared with previous PK data from non-ECMO patients. Covariate analysis showed that body temperature and total plasma protein level correlated positively with systemic clearance (CL) and peripheral volume of distribution (V2), respectively, and improved the model. The parameter estimates of the final model were as follows: CL = 37.8 × EXP (0.207 × (temperature − 36.9)) L h−1, central volume of distribution (V1) = 229 L, V2 = 1640 × (total plasma protein/4.5)2.46 L, and intercompartmental clearance (Q) = 41 L h−1. Based on Monte Carlo simulation results, an infusion of 17.5 μg h−1 seems to reach target sufentanil concentration (0.3–0.6 μg L−1) in most ECMO patients except hypothermic patients (33 °C). In hypothermic patients, over-sedation, which could induce respiratory depression, needs to be monitored especially when their total plasma protein level is low. Conclusions This is the first report on a population PK model of sufentanil in ECMO patients. Our results suggest that close monitoring of the body temperature and total plasma protein level is crucial in ECMO patients who receive sufentanil to provide effective analgesia and sedation and promote recovery. Some studies have suggested the antihypertensive effects of statins, a class of lipid-lowering agents, particularly in patients with hypertension. However, the evidence for the role of statins in blood pressure (BP) lowering is controversial, and no meta-analysis of rosuvastatin therapy has been conducted to assess its BP-lowering effects. Therefore, the aim of this meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was to investigate the effects of rosuvastatin on systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in patients with hypertension. We systematically searched the electronic databases MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library to identify RCTs in which patients were assigned to groups of rosuvastatin plus antihypertensive agents vs. antihypertensive agents. The three authors independently selected the studies, extracted data, and assessed methodological quality. We included five RCTs in this meta-analysis with 288 patients treated with rosuvastatin and 219 patients without rosuvastatin. The mean DBP in the rosuvastatin group was significantly lower than that in the non-rosuvastatin group by -2.12 mmHg (95% confidence interval (CI) -3.72 to -0.52; Pfixed-effects model = 0.009; I2 = 0%, Pheterogeneity = 0.97). Rosuvastatin treatment also lowered the mean SBP compared with the non-rosuvastatin treatment by -2.27 mmHg, but not significantly (95% CI - 4.75 to 0.25; Pfixed-effects model = 0.08; I2 = 0%, Pheterogeneity = 0.82). In this study, we reviewed the antihypertensive effects of rosuvastatin in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia. We demonstrated a modest significant reduction of DBP and a trend toward a lowered SBP in patients with hypertension with rosuvastatin therapy. Rosuvastatin could be beneficial to control hypertension and, consequently, contribute toward reducing the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia.

Abstract Background An optimal therapy for the treatment of pneumonia caused by drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii remains unclear. This study aims to compare various antimicrobial strategies and to determine the most effective therapy for pneumonia using a network meta-analysis. Methods Systematic search and quality assessment were performed to select eligible studies reporting one of the following outcomes: all-cause mortality, clinical cure, and microbiological eradication. The primary outcome was all-cause mortality. A network meta-analysis was conducted with a Bayesian approach. Antimicrobial treatments were ranked based on surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) value along with estimated median outcome rate and corresponding 95% credible intervals (CrIs). Two treatments were considered significantly different if a posterior probability of superiority (P) was greater than 97.5%. Results Twenty-three studies evaluating 15 antimicrobial treatments were included. Intravenous colistin monotherapy (IV COL) was selected as a common comparator, serving as a bridge for developing the network. Five treatments ranked higher than IV COL (SUCRA, 57.1%; median all-cause mortality 0.45, 95% CrI 0.41–0.48) for reducing all-cause mortality: sulbactam monotherapy (SUL, 100.0%; 0.18, 0.04–0.42), high-dose SUL (HD SUL, 85.7%; 0.31, 0.07–0.71), fosfomycin plus IV COL (FOS + IV COL, 78.6%; 0.34, 0.19–0.54), inhaled COL plus IV COL (IH COL + IV COL, 71.4%; 0.39, 0.32–0.46), and high-dose tigecycline (HD TIG, 71.4%; 0.39, 0.16–0.67). Those five treatments also ranked higher than IV COL (SUCRA, 45.5%) for improving clinical cure (72.7%, 72.7%, 63.6%, 81.8%, and 90.9%, respectively). Among the five treatments, SUL (P = 98.1%) and IH COL + IV COL (P = 99.9%) were significantly superior to IV COL for patient survival and clinical cure, respectively. In terms of microbiological eradication, FOS + IV COL (P = 99.8%) and SUL (P = 98.9%) were significantly superior to IV COL. Conclusions This Bayesian network meta-analysis demonstrated the comparative effectiveness of fifteen antimicrobial treatments for drug-resistant A. baumannii pneumonia in critically ill patients. For survival benefit, SUL appears to be the best treatment followed by HD SUL, FOS + IV COL, IH COL + IV COL, HD TIG, and IV COL therapy, in numerical order.

Abstract Background When patients are discharged from hospital to home, it is a highlighted vulnerable period for which medication - related problems are prevalent. Researchers have proposed a telephone follow-up intervention as a means to reduce hospital readmissions. However, the outcome of the intervention with the engagement of pharmacists in managing patients’ medicines after discharge has not been well explored. The objectives of this study were (1) to determine whether a pharmacist telephone follow-up intervention focusing on patients’ medicines management support is associated with a reduction in 30-day readmission rates and (2) to describe the number and types of pharmacist interventions in care transitions. Methods This was a case-cohort study conducted in two acute hospitals in the UK. Pharmacists performed a telephone follow-up intervention to discharged patients to provide medicines management support. Patients who received pharmacist telephone follow-up calls within 14 days of discharge formed the intervention group. A subset of medical patient population discharged in the month of May 2013 formed the comparison group. During a series of two-telephone follow-up, pharmacists identified post-discharge pharmaceutical problems and provided patient-tailored interventions accordingly. The impact of pharmacist interventions was assessed using a risk assessment matrix tool by two senior pharmacists. Overall 30-day readmission rates in the intervention group were measured and compared with the comparison group using a chi-square test. Results Between 5th and 25th June 2013, a total of 62 medical patients participated in the study. Pharmacists provided 192 interventions as a result of pharmacist telephone follow-up intervention. The most prevalent type of interventions was the provision of drug information (n=40), followed by screening patient adherence (n=30) and advising on adverse drug reactions (n=27). The impact of interventions was assessed, and 49.3% of the identified risks intervened by pharmacists were associated with moderate risk. The 30-day readmission rates in the intervention group were 11.3% compared to 9.0% in the control group (p = 0.376); this was not statistically significant. Conclusions A pharmacist TFU intervention did not show a benefit in 30-day hospital readmissions. However, a pharmacist TFU intervention was an effective method to solve or avoid critical pharmaceutical problems. A future study using a larger scale trial is warranted.

Digital/data curation curricula have been around for a couple of decades. Currently, several ALA-accredited LIS programs offer digital/data curation courses and certificate programs to address the high demand for professionals with the knowledge and skills to handle digital content and research data in an ever-changing information environment. In this study, we aimed to examine the topical scopes of digital/data curation curricula in the context of the LIS field. We collected 16 syllabi from the digital/data curation courses, as well as textual descriptions of the 11 programs and their core courses offered in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. The collected data were analyzed using a probabilistic topic modeling technique, Latent Dirichlet Allocation, to identify both common and unique topics. The results are the identification of 20 topics both at the program- and course-levels. Comparison between the program- and course-level topics uncovered a set of unique topics, and a number of common topics. Furthermore, we provide interactive visualizations for digital/data curation programs and courses for further analysis of topical distributions. We believe that our combined approach of a topic modeling and visualizations may provide insight for identifying emerging trends and co-occurrences of topics among digital/data curation curricula in the LIS field.

ObjectivesThe objective of this study was to investigate the association between genetic polymorphisms of N-acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2), cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1), glutathione S-transferase (GST) and solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 1B1 (SLCO1B1) and the risk of anti-tuberculosis drug-induced liver injury (ATDILI).DesignSystematic review and meta-analysis.Data sourcesPubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Reviews databases were searched through April 2019.Eligibility criteriaWe included case-control or cohort studies investigating an association between NAT2, CYP2E1, GST or SLCO1B1 polymorphisms and the ATDILI risk in patients with tuberculosis.Data extraction and synthesisThree authors screened articles, extracted data and assessed study quality. The strength of association was evaluated for each gene using the pooled OR with a 95% CI based on the fixed-effects or random-effects model. Sensitivity analysis was performed to confirm the reliability and robustness of the results.ResultsFifty-four studies were included in this analysis (n=26 for CYP2E1, n=35 for NAT2, n=19 for GST, n=4 for SLCO1B1). The risk of ATDILI was significantly increased with the following genotypes: CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI c1/c1 (OR=1.39, 95% CI 1.06 to 1.83), NAT2 slow acetylator (OR=3.30, 95% CI 2.65 to 4.11) and GSTM1 null (OR=1.30, 95% CI 1.12 to 1.52). No significant association with ATDILI was found for the genetic polymorphisms of CYP2E1 DraI, GSTT1, GSTM1/GSTT1, SLCO1B1 388A>G and SLCO1B1 521T>C (p>0.05).ConclusionsATDILI is more likely to occur in patients with NAT2 slow acetylator genotype, CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI c1/c1 genotype and GSTM1 null genotype. Close monitoring may be warranted for patients with these genotypes.

IntroductionLocal treatments for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and microinvasive disease remove or ablate a cone-shaped part of the uterine cervix containing the abnormal cells. A trend toward less radical techniques has raised concerns that this may adversely impact the rates of precancerous and cancerous recurrence. However, there has been no strong evidence to support such claims. We hereby describe a protocol of a systematic review and network meta-analysis that will update the evidence and compare all relevant treatments in terms of efficacy and complications.Methods and analysisLiterature searches in electronic databases (CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE) or trial registries will identify published and unpublished randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and cohort studies comparing the efficacy and complications among different excisional and ablative techniques. The excisional techniques include cold knife, laser or Fischer cone, large loop or needle excision of the transformation zone and the ablative radical point diathermy, cryotherapy, cold coagulation or laser ablation. The primary outcome will be residual/recurrent disease defined as abnormal histology or cytology of any grade, while secondary outcomes will include treatment failure rates defined as high-grade histology or cytology, histologically confirmed CIN1+ or histologically confirmed CIN2+, human papillomavirus positivity rates, involved margins rates, bleeding and cervical stenosis rates. We will assess the risk of bias in RCTs and observational studies using tools developed by the Cochrane Collaboration. Two authors will independently assess study eligibility, abstract the data and assess the risk of bias. Random-effects meta-analyses and network meta-analyses will be conducted using the OR for dichotomous outcomes and the mean difference for continuous outcomes. The quality of the evidence for the primary outcome will be assessed using the CINeMA (Confidence In Network Meta-Analysis) tool.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval is not required. The medication regimen complexity index (MRCI), originally developed in English, is a reliable and valid tool to assess the complexity of pharmacotherapy. This study aimed to validate the Korean version of MRCI (MRCI-K). A cross-cultural methodological study comprising 335 discharged patients of a tertiary hospital in Korea was conducted. The translation process included translation into Korean by two clinical pharmacists, back translation by two native speakers, and a pretest of the tool, culminating in the Korean version of MRCI-K. Reliability analysis was assessed using inter-rater and test-retest reliability with 25 randomly selected patients. Convergent and discriminant validity analyses were conducted by correlating MRCI scores with medication number, age, sex, adverse drug reaction (ADR) reports, and length of stay. The criterion validity was confirmed through evaluation by a nine-member expert panel that subjectively ranked these regimens. The reliability analysis demonstrated excellent internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.977), and the intraclass correlation coefficient exceeded 0.90 for all cases. The correlation coefficient for the number of medications was 0.955 (P < 0.001). Weak significant correlations were observed with age and length of stay. The MRCI-K group with ADR reports scored higher (mean, 31.8) than the group without ADR reports (mean, 27.3). The expert panel's ranking had a stronger correlation with the MRCI ranking than the medication number ranking. MRCI-K has similar reliability and validity as MRCI and is useful for analyzing therapeutic regimens with potential applications in both practice and research in Korea.

BACKGROUND:To assess the cardiovascular (CV) risk associated with the use of incretin-based therapy in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) primary prevention group with low CV risks. METHODS:The clinical studies on incretin-based therapy published in medical journals until August 2014 were comprehensively searched using MEDLINE, EMBASE and CENTRAL with no language restriction. The studies were systemically reviewed and evaluated for CV risks using a meta-analysis approach and where they meet the following criteria: clinical trial, incidence of predefined CV disease, T2DM with no comorbidities, age > 18 years old, duration of at least 12 weeks, incretin-based therapy compared with other antihyperglycaemic agents or placebo. Statistical analyses were performed using a Mantel-Haenszel (M-H) test. The odds ratios (OR) and their 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated and displayed for comparison. RESULTS:A total of 75 studies comprising 45,648 patients with T2DM were selected. The pooled estimate demonstrated no significance in decreased CV risk with incretin-based therapy versus control (M-H OR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.81-1.00). CONCLUSIONS:This meta-analysis suggests that incretin-based therapy show no significant protective effect on CV events in T2DM primary prevention group with low CV risks. Prospective randomized controlled trials are required to confirm the results of this analysis.

Stem-cell-based therapies are regarded as promising treatments for neurological disorders, and adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) are a feasible source of clinical application of stem cell. Recent studies have shown that stem cells have a therapeutic potential for use in the treatment of various illnesses through paracrine action. To examine the effects of cell components of ASCs on neural stem cells (NSCs), we treated cell-free extracts of ASCs (CFE-ASCs) containing various components with brain-derived NSCs. To elucidate the effects of CFE-ASCs in NSC proliferation, we treated mouse subventricular zone-derived cultured NSCs with various doses of CFE-ASCs. Worldwide initiatives toward digital library (DL) support for electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs), facilitated by the work of the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD), are a key part of the move toward open access. When all graduate students learn to use openly available ETDs, and have experience with authoring and submission in connection with their own research results, it will be easy for them to continue these efforts through other contributions to open access. When all universities support ETD activities, they will be key participants in institutional repositories and open access, and will have engaged in discussion and infrastructure development supportive of further open access activities. Quando os alunos de pós-graduação aprenderem a usar as ETDs disponíveis e tiverem experimentado a criação e a submissão dos trabalhos resultantes de suas pesquisas, ele serão participantes ativos nos repositórios institucionais e no acesso aberto. Ao mesmo tempo, poderão se engajar nas discussões e na criação de infraestrutura que suporte o crescimento do acesso aberto. A compreensão do acesso aberto pode ser facilitada pela modelagem 5S aplicada aos aspectos fundamentais das biblitoecas digitais: Societies (Sociedades), Scenarios (Cenários), Spaces (Espaços), Structures (Estruturas) e Streams (Correntes).

Dormant carcinoma cancer cells showing epithelial characteristics can be activated to dissipate into the surrounding tissue or organs through epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, the molecular details underlying the activation of dormant cancer cells have been less explored. In this study, we examined the molecular pathway to activate dormant breast cancer cells. Rho-associated kinase (ROCK) inhibition disrupted cell junction, promoted cell proliferation and migration / invasion in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional substrates. The disintegration of cell junction upon ROCK inhibition, coupled with the loss of E-cadherin and b-catenin from the cell membrane, was associated with the activation of Rac1 upon ROCK inhibition. Migration / invasion also increased upon ROCK inhibition. However, the activation of MCF-7 cells upon ROCK inhibition was not associated with the up-regulation of typical EMT markers, such as snail and slug. Based on these results, we suggest the potential risk for dormant cancer cells to dissipate through non-typical EMT when ROCK activity is down-regulated.
