Bibliometrics is most popular among the scholars, researchers and academics in the faculty of Library and Information Science research. The current study is a bibliometrics analysis of four international journals such as: 1st 'Language Sciences' (LS) and 2nd 'Linguistics and Education' (L&E), 3rd 'Political Geography' (PG), and 4th 'Religion' (Rgn). The present paper attempts to evaluate the publications indexed under the database of Science Direct Top 25 hottest Papers journal literature to understand the global approach of research output in four core journals. This is a comprehensive survey work rendering bibliographic records from Science Direct top 25 hottest papers database during 2005-2013, and this paper strenuously tries to give a complete sketch of the evaluation of research outputs. The key findings of the research divulge that, out of a total number of 3300 papers undertaken for the present research work, 900 were taken from 1st three journals and 60 0 shared by the 4 th journal 'Religion'. It is indicated from the study that top 15 authors of all four journals identically contributed 349 (38.77%), 281 (31.22%), 384 (42.66 %) and 239 (39.83 %) papers to their credit which counts more than one third of the whole contribution except 2nd journal. In all journals the greater number 79, 76, 72, and 85 percent papers were produced by single authors, while the collaborated papers were only 21, 24, 28, and 15 percent the study unmasks. Considering the authors' institutional affiliation it is ascertained that, the authors' contributed to the journals was affiliated to 153, 152, 169 and 80 unique institutions encompassing intercontinental regions, which again determines maximum number of institutional contributors are involved in 3rd journal, while minimum institutional contributors in 4th journal respectively. Besides, the geographical analysis indicates the involvement of cross national regions in the research practices is well found considerably benchmarking. Moreover, the study evidently shows that the overwhelming and most productive geographical region contributors' USA shared 208 (23.11%), 354 (39.33%) and 231 (38.5 %) papers in 1st, 2nd and 4th journal with posed 1st rank, while UK achieved 1st rank having contribution 396 (44%) to the 3rd journal respectively. Resultantly, it could be professed here that, the both regions (USA and UK) are considerably granted as leading productive nations and prolific in the realm of global research. This paper seeks to analyze publications indexed in the database of Science Direct Top 25 hottest Papers in Arts and Humanities journal to understand the international perspective of research publication dynamics in two core journals such as: (1st) 'Language Sciences' (LS) and (2nd) 'Linguistics and Education' (L&E) respectively. This is a comprehensive survey work using bibliographic records derived from Science Direct top 25 hottest papers database during 2005-2014 and this paper vigorously tries to give a complete view of the evaluation of research outcomes. Findings of the study revealed that out of a total number of 1800 papers undertaken for the present research, 50 percent were shared from each journal. It is indicated from the study that top 15 authors of 1st journal contributed 349 (38.77%), and 2nd journal added 281 (31.22%) papers to their credit which counts more than one third of the whole contribution. In both journals a major share 78 and 76 percent papers were produced by single authors, while the collaborated papers were only 22 and 24 percent the study discloses. Considering the authors' institutional affiliation it is ascertained that, the authors' contributed to both journals was affiliated to 153 and 152 unique institutions spread over a wide range global geographical regions. Besides, the geographical analysis claims and vitalizes the cross-national comparison in the research practices is found considerably benchmarking. The overwhelming and most productive geographical region contributor USA added 139 (15.44%), and 220 (24.44%) papers to both journals categorically, and maintained its status of prolificacy in the arena of global research. The present paper is prepared with the purpose to assess the publication trends of scholarly articles in the field of Environmental Sciences that are published in 75 Journals indexed under Science Direct Database during the period 2004 to 2010. It examines and presents an analysis of 645 research papers with a focus on Indian scenario. The study takes note scientifically from various angles such as: growth of literature, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, geographical distribution of publications, distribution by journal, citation pattern, and ranking pattern etc. The study reveals that 'USA' as the most productive country among 67 participative nations and recognized 'Trends in Ecology & Evolution' (TEE) as highly productive journal amongst 75 journals undertaken for this study. The present study is a bibliometric assessment of scientific research output of Sambalpur University during the 2007 to 2011. Which describes the growth, contribution and impact of research carried out by the faculty members, researchers or students of Sambalpur University. It also attempts to analyze the growth and development of research activity of the university as reflected in publications output covered by ISI Web of Science during the period under study. The study attempt to examines the content of papers published, including the annual average growth rate percent, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, distribution of citations, organizational affiliation of papers. Visualizing into social science research, the present study examines the trend in social science research out put, degree of collaboration in research, extent of authors' productivity, growth pattern of literature and far-reaching productive regions at length. The central theme of the approach resultantly discovers and indicates the current research process and status at global scenario. Finally, the study shows the researchers participation in research and development, and research out put have set the pace vertically as determining a modern st convenience of 21st century, causes encouragement to novice researchers. Summarizing the consequences of the st nd study it is discovered that, single authorship is most dominant in 1st journal 'SSR', while in 2nd journal 'WSIF' the single authorship is dominated by multi authorship which signifies both journals are disconcerting one another in this context. Addressing the productivity of geographical regions the study investigates and explores st that, USA with 86.8% papers is the top most productive country in 1st journal, whereas Australia having 27.8% in 2nd journal got 1st rank respectively among 11 and 20 participative countries of both journals. The study further reveals that, with the march of time the research out put has incorporated vigorous changes and has grown a highest up to 59.4 and 54.6 per cent papers under latest time zones as compared to other respective time zones at both journals. Besides, the study also denotes that, the principal productive institutions and prime productive authors of most productive countries hold prolific ranks in both the journals as compared to others. Purpose – The main purpose of this study is to determine India's position in publishing top research papers in chemistry as reflected in Science Direct. It also aims to find out authorship pattern, countries with major contributions, journals with high publication rates, etc. Design/methodology/approach – Citation analysis methods were applied to study citations of 450 research papers in chemistry taken from the listing of top 25 papers in Science Direct database. The citations covered 18 issues of the Science Direct generated alert service for the period 2004-2008. The bibliographic data were entered in Excel sheets for necessary analysis. Findings – The studies revealed that, out of 450 research papers, 36 (8 per cent) are contributed by Indian researchers. In the ranking of contributing countries, India reserves third position after the USA and China. More than 86 per cent of Indian chemistry research papers were cited by others. As regards to number of citations, 25 per cent of Indian papers are cited between 10 and 25 times each. The journal Tetrahedron was found as the highest publishing journal with 71 (16 per cent) publications. Research limitations/implications – The paper presents a sense of the importance of Indian chemistry research, and as such informs that community, as well as researchers involved in citation analysis. Originality/value – The outcome of the study is an original research work with citation analysis of top research papers in chemistry. The findings will have practical implications for Indian scientists, funding agencies and research establishments in different areas of chemical sciences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a study on the use of Internet and electronic-resources (e-resources) among students of Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Sambalpur University in Orissa, India. The study utilized a survey through a structured questionnaire among MBA students. Results showed that students have a long experience in electronic-use and all are roughly aware on Internet applications. It revealed that Internet and e-resources affect the management study of students.
