Aim: it was aimed to examine the correlation between the fear of COVID-19 and the perceived risk of COVID-19 and compliance with standard precautions of nurses working in pandemic clinics. Materials and Methods: The study conducted in a cross-sectional research design. The sample consists of 194 participants who worked in COVID-19 clinics between November 2020 - January 2021 in an Education and Research Hospital in Ankara, and met the inclusion criteria. Data collection form consisted of the Introductory Information Form (18 questions), the The Fear of COVID-19 Scale (7 items), the Perceived COVID-19 Risk Scale (8 items) and the Standard Precautions Scale (20 items). The data were collected by considering the pandemic conditions, using an online questionnaire. Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Variance Analysis were used to compare continuous data. Spearman Correlation Analysis was used to determine the correlation between the scales’ scores. Results: The mean age of the participants was 29.01 ± 6.73. Participants’ mean scores were on the The Fear of COVID-19 Scale, Perceived COVID-19 Risk Scale, and Standard Precautions Scale were 19.83 ± 6.36, 29.89 ± 5, and 14.05 ± 2.81, respectively. It was determined that there was a moderate and positive significant correlation between the The Fear of COVID-19 Scale mean scores of the participants and the Perceived COVID-19 Risk Scale (r = 0.619; p = 0.001). There was no statistically significant correlation between the mean scores of the Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale and the mean scores of the The Fear of COVID-19 Scale and Perceived COVID-19 Risk Scale (p>0.05). Conclusion: In line with the results obtained in the study, it was determined that the nurses’ fear of COVID-19 and the perceived risk of COVID-19 were above average. However, it was revealed that fear of COVID-19 and perceived risk were not related to Compliance with Standard Precautions.

This research was conducted to determine the opinions of prospective teachers on peer assessment. The study was carried out at a university in the West Black sea with forty-one prospective Turkish teachers. The prospective teachers presented a lesson on a subject they had decided on formerly, and were evaluated by their peers. The groups consisted of five members, and all the members of the class participated in peer assessment alternately. After the completion of peer assessment study, the opinions of prospective teachers were obtained by asking them to answer open-ended questions in written form. For the data obtained, content analysis was carried out. The findings of the study has indicated that peer evaluation is beneficial in providing affective and academic development, use of metacognitive strategies, and in the points of giving feedback. It has been determined that personal characteristics, personal relations, not being competent at peer assessment and the assessment forms’ being overloaded with too many criteria have resulted in a couple of problems at application. Prospective teachers have made suggestions considering the role of the teacher, the features of the assessment group, the means of assessment and the assessment form and they have not welcomed the idea of using the peer assessment points as final grades. Within the frame of the findings of the study, the suggestions have been developed on how to construct peer assessment practices. WOS: 000386021200007, Carbon monoxide (CO) is an important signaling molecule which plays significant roles in the pathogenesis of cancer. CO is produced by enzymatic degradation of heme in mammals. Heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) catalyzes the breakdown of heme into CO, ferrous iron, and biliverdin. CO induces HO-1 and inhibits cell proliferation. Cancer cells exposed to several stress factors (hypoxia, reactive oxygen species, cis-platin, and oxidative stress), and HO-1 displays cytoprotective role against oxidative stress and inhibits apoptosis, metastases, angiogenesis, and cell proliferation processes. Therefore, metal containing CO-releasing molecules (CORMs) have been designed as an effective cancer treatment strategy. CORMs are responsible for releasing controlled amounts of CO to cells and tissues. Thus, we synthesized [Mn(CO)(3)(bpy)L]X manganese containing CORMs [bpy=2,2-bipyridine, X=hexafluorophosphate (PF6), trifluoromethanesulfonate (OTf), L=imidazole, methylimidazole, benzimidazole, N-benzylbenzimidazole, N-(4-chlorobenzyl)benzimidazole] to release CO in human invasive ductal breast (MCF-7) cell line. In vitro experiments indicated that the compounds inhibited cell proliferation and exhibited cytotoxic effect on breast cancer cells. Moreover, side groups of the compounds enhanced the anticancer effects in MCF-7 cell line. These manganese containing CORMs gave promising results and may be used as a drug template for effective treatment of invasive ductal breast carcinoma. WOS: 000358992000003, This article explores the possibility of using imidazoline and benzimidazole derivatives as interesting ligands due to the fact that they are structurally simple, readily available, inexpensive, and they allow easy introduction of various substituents into their structure. Therefore, N-substituted imidazoline and benzimidazole ligands and their new ruthenium complexes [RuCl2(eta(6)-p-cymene)(L)] (L = N-substituted imidazoline/benzimidazole) were synthesized and characterized. The catalytic performances of new complexes are investigated for the transfer hydrogenation of ketones.
