Let us consider the Multiple String Matching Problem. In this problem, we consider a long string, denoted by $t$, of length $n$. This string is referred to as a text. We also consider a sequence of $m$ strings, denoted by $S$, which we refer to as a dictionary. The total length of all strings from the dictionary is represented by the variable L. The objective is to identify all instances of strings from the dictionary within the text. The standard classical solution to this problem is Aho-Corasick Algorithm that has $O(n+L)$ query and time complexity. At the same time, the classical lower bound for the problem is the same $\Omega(n+L)$. We propose a quantum algorithm with $O(n+\sqrt{mL\log n}+m\log n)$ query complexity and $O(n+\sqrt{mL\log n}\log b+m\log n)=O^*(n+\sqrt{mL})$ time complexity, where $b$ is the maximal length of strings from the dictionary. This improvement is particularly significant in the case of dictionaries comprising long words. Our algorithm's complexity is equal to the quantum lower bound $O(n + \sqrt{mL})$, up to a log factor. Co-crystallization is an accessible way to control physicochemical characteristics of organic crystals, which finds many biomedical applications. In this work, we present Generative Method for Co-crystal Design (GEMCODE), a novel pipeline for automated co-crystal screening based on the hybridization of deep generative models and evolutionary optimization for broader exploration of the target chemical space. GEMCODE enables fast de novo co-crystal design with target tabletability profiles, which is crucial for the development of pharmaceuticals. With a series of experimental studies highlighting validation and discovery cases, we show that GEMCODE is effective even under realistic computational constraints. Furthermore, we explore the potential of language models in generating co-crystals. Photon entanglement is indispensable for optical quantum technologies. Measurement-based optical quantum computing and all-optical quantum networks rely on multiphoton cluster states consisting of indistinguishable entangled photons. A promising method for creating such cluster states on demand is spin-photon entanglement using the spin of a resident charge carrier in a quantum dot, precessing in a weak external magnetic field. In this work, we show theoretically and experimentally that spin-photon entanglement is strongly affected by the hidden anisotropy of quantum dots, which can arise from mechanical stress, shape anisotropy and even specific crystal structure. In the measurements of time-resolved photoluminescence and cross-polarized second-order photon correlation function in a magnetic field, the anisotropy manifests itself in the spin dynamics and, as a consequence, in the spin-photon concurrence. The measured time-filtered spin-photon Bell state fidelity depends strongly on the excitation polarization and reaches an extremely high value of 94% at maximum. We specify the magnetic field and excitation polarization directions that maximize spin-photon entanglement and thereby enhance the fidelity of multiphoton entangled states.

In this paper, we present a quantum property testing algorithm for recognizing a context-free language that is a concatenation of two palindromes $L_{REV}$. The query complexity of our algorithm is $O(\frac{1}{\varepsilon}n^{1/3}\log n)$, where $n$ is the length of an input. It is better than the classical complexity that is $\Theta^*(\sqrt{n})$. At the same time, in the general setting, the picture is different a little. Classical query complexity is $\Theta(n)$, and quantum query complexity is $\Theta^*(\sqrt{n})$. Creation of nanomaterials with specific morphology remains a complex experimental process, even though there is a growing demand for these materials in various industry sectors. This study explores the potential of AI to predict the morphology of nanoparticles within the data availability constraints. For that, we first generated a new multi-modal dataset that is double the size of analogous studies. Then, we systematically evaluated performance of classical machine learning and large language models in prediction of nanomaterial shapes and sizes. Finally, we prototyped a text-to-image system, discussed the obtained empirical results, as well as the limitations and promises of existing approaches.

Two-photon atomic ionization driven by time-locked XUV and IR pulses allows to study dynamics of Fano resonances in time and energy domains. Different time evolution of the two interfering pathways leading to a Fano resonance can be exploited to turn the Fano profile of the two-photon XUV/IR ionization into a symmetric Gaussian once the directly ejected photoelectron leaves the parent ion and cannot any longer absorb an IR photon. This line shape transformation allows for the direct determination of the resonant lifetime from the spectroscopic measurements without need for an extremely fine energy resolution. We develop a time-dependent multi-configurational numerical technique for calculating ionization by short laser pulses of many-electron molecules. The method is based on the expansion of the wave function of a molecule into the eigenstates of the molecular ion. The Breith-Wheeler resonant process has been theoretically studied in a strong X-ray electromagnetic wave field under conditions when the energy of one of the initial high-energy gamma quanta passes into the energy of a positron or electron. These resonant conditions have been studied in detail. Analytical formulas for the resonant differential cross-section of channels A and B of the reaction are obtained. It is shown that the resonant differential cross-section significantly depends on the value of the characteristic Breit-Wheeler energy, which is determined by the parameters of the electromagnetic wave and the initial gamma quanta. With a decrease in the characteristic Breit-Wheeler energy, the resonant cross-section increases sharply and may exceed the corresponding non-resonant cross-section by several orders of magnitude., Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, 3 tables

The resonant external field-assisted Breit-Wheeler process (Oleinik resonances) for strong electromagnetic fields with intensities less than the critical Schwinger field has been theoretically studied. The resonant kinematics has been studied in detail. The case of high-energy initial gamma quanta and emerging ultrarelativistic electron-positron pairs is studied. The resonant differential cross section is obtained. The generation of narrow beams of ultrarelativistic positrons (for Channel A) and electrons (for Channel B) is predicted with a probability significantly exceeding corresponding to the non-resonant process., Comment: 17 pages, 5 figes, 1 table

The characteristics of a single-photon emitter based on a semiconductor quantum dot, such as their indistinguishability and brightness, depend on the stability of the recombination channel, which can switch spontaneously between exciton and trion. We show that dominant recombination through neutral exciton states can be achieved by careful control of the doping profile near an epitaxial InAs/GaAs quantum dot placed in a columnar microcavity with distributed Bragg reflectors. The Hong-Ou-Mandel experiments carried out in the fabricated device demonstrate the degree of indistinguishability of 91% of successively emitted single photons within 242 ns at an efficiency of 10% inside a single-mode optical fiber. The achieved brightness made it possible to implement spatio-temporal demultiplexing of photons in six independent spatial modes with an in-fiber generation frequency of more than 0.1 Hz., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures. One of the main problems of modern cognitive architectures is an excessively schematic approach to modeling the processes of cognitive activity. It does not allow the creation of a universal architecture that would be capable of reproducing mental functions without using a predetermined set of perceptual patterns. This paper considers an evolutionary approach to creating a cognitive functionality. The basis of our approach is the use of the functional kernel which consistently generates the intellectual functions of an autonomous agent. We consider a cognitive architecture which ensures the evolution of the agent on the basis of Symbol Emergence Problem solution. We study orientation and two-center interference effects in attosecond time-resolved photoionization of the H$_2$ molecule. Time resolution of XUV ionization of H$_2$ is gained through the phase retrieval capability of attosecond angular streaking demonstrated earlier by Kheifets {\em et al} [arXiv:2202.06147 (2022)]. Once applied to H$_2$, this technique delivers an anisotropic phase and time delay which both depend sensitively on the molecular axis orientation. In addition, the photoelectron momentum distribution displays a very clear two-center interference pattern. When the interference formula due to Walter and Briggs [J. Phys. B {\bf 32} 2487 (1999)] is applied, an effective photoelectron momentum appears to be greater than the asymptotic momentum at the detector. In their interesting article (Physical Review A, Vol. 101, 023843 (2020)) Conforti et al. present doubly periodic (elliptic) solutions of the nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation, based on an earlier article by Akhmediev et.al. (Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, Vol. 72, 809 (1987)). We present some notes with respect to correctness, completeness, and representation of the solutions obtained.
