Standard consolidation for primary diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) of the central nervous system (CNS) (PCNSL) is not established. This single center, retrospective observational study aims to define the outcomes of consolidative high dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation (HDC/ASCT) in patients with PCNSL and isolated secondary CNS DLBCL (SCNSL) and evaluate the prognostic factors.All consecutive patients performed an HDC/ASCT for PCNSL or isolated SCNSLs between October 2012 and February 2022 were identified. Primary endpoints were progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).Among 35 patients included, 28 had PCNSL and 7 had isolated SCNSL. Median age was 51 (16-78). Males constituted 48.6%. Median follow-up after HDC/ASCT was 42.0 months. MATRIX (51.4%) and TEAM (80.0%) were the most frequent regimens of induction and conditioning, respectively. OS and PFS 1- and 2-year after HDC/ASCT were 68.0%, 57.0%, 58.0%, 48.0%, respectively. Increasing age, poor performance and comorbidities were associated with lower OS and PFS and higher non-relapse mortality (NRM). Complete response (CR) 1 at HDC/ACST was independently associated with higher OS and PFS [hazard ratio (HR): 4.67 and 6.99, respectively].In patients60 years consolidative HDC/ASCT yields promising OS and PFS. Patients ≥ 60 years may less likely benefit from consolidative HDC/ASCT and should be studied further in trials of novel agents, lower doses of consolidative radiotherapy and dose-adjusted conditioning regimens. Not only age, but also comorbidities, clinical performance and response to induction correlate with outcomes. Patients with isolated SCNSL may achieve similar outcomes.

İsrail’in 1967 savaşı sonrasında Filistin topraklarındaki hakimiyetini sürdürmesinin en önemli araçlarından biri yerleşimler olmuştur. 1967’de başlayan yerleşim faaliyetleri zamanla Batı Şeria’yı sararak, bölgenin haritasını ve demografisini değiştirmiştir. Yerleşimler sadece konutlardan ibaret değillerdir. İsrail’in yerleşimlerin ihtiyaçlarını ve güvenliğini gerekçe göstererek inşa ettiği kontrol noktaları, kısıtlı yol ağları, yol engelleri ve Batı Şeria bariyeri (Ayrım Duvarı) ile çok daha komplike bir yapı oluşturmaktadırlar. Söz konusu bu komplike yapı sayesinde başlarda geçici olarak görülen askeri işgal kalıcı hale getirerek İsrail’in ilhak politikasının en etkili aracı haline gelmiştir. İsrail işgal ettiği bölgelerin geleceğini belirlemek için yerleşimler kurarken, bu toprakların aslında Filistinlilerin geleceği olduğu gerçeğinin üstünü örtmeye çalışmıştır. Bu yönüyle yerleşimler, Filistinlilerin sosyal, siyasi ve ekonomik hayatının her alanını sızmakta ve onları kuşatma altına almaktadır. Bu kuşatma nedeniyle Filistinliler sağlık ve eğitim gibi en temel ihtiyaçlara erişimde ve temel ekonomik faaliyetlerini yürütmekte büyük engellerle karşılaşmaktadırlar. İsrail oluşturduğu engellerle Filistinlilerin yaşamını kısıtlarken aynı zamanda onları belirli sınırlar içinde kontrol altında tutmayı sağlamıştır. Bu çalışma İsrail’in Batı Şeria’da inşa ettiği yerleşimlerin ve yerleşimlerinin bileşenlerinin Filistinlilerin hayatı üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada en temel insan haklarından biri olan seyahat ve dolaşım özgürlüğü çerçevesinde bu etki incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın iddiası yerleşimlerin varlığının ve yerleşimleri merkeze alarak İsrailli makamların Filistinlilerin seyahat ve dolaşımına getirdiği kanuni ve/veya fiili kısıtlamaların ve engellerin Filistin halkının yaşam koşullarını en temel ihtiyaçlarını gideremeyecek kadar ağırlaştırdığıdır. Bu durum Filistin halkı üzerinde topraklarını terk etme baskısı oluşturarak, İsrail’in işgalini genişletmektedir. Çalışmada İsrail yerleşimlerinin Filistinlilerin hayatı üzerindeki bu etkisi vaka analizi olarak seçilen Furuş Beyt Deccan köyü üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Settlement activities initially started in 1967, and in time, expanded into the West Bank, changing the map and demography of the region to a significant extent. Settlements are not just residences. With the checkpoints, restricted road networks, road barriers and the Separation Wall, all of which Israel built on the grounds of the needs and security of the settlements, they form a much more complicated structure. Thanks to the complicated structure in question, it became the most effective tool of Israel's annexation policy by making the military occupation, which was seen temporarily at first, permanent. While Israel was building settlements to determine the future of the areas it occupied, it tried to cover up the fact that these lands were the future of the Palestinians. In this respect, settlements permeate into every aspect of social, political, and economic life in the West Bank, causing significant obstacles for Palestinians in accessing their basic health and education needs and carrying out economic activities. While Israel has restricted the lives of Palestinians with the obstacles it has created, it has also kept them under control within certain limits. This study seeks to reveal the effects of the settlements in the West Bank on the lives of Palestinians, particularly on their mobility and freedom of movement. It argues that the settlements and the legal and de-facto restrictions that are put in place by the Israeli authorities on the Palestinian movement serve to force Palestinians to leave their lands. This leads in the expansion of the Israeli occupation. In this study, we will analyze the practice of settlements and their effects on the Palestinian life within the context of Furush Beit Deccan village.

This paper aims to analyze Britain’s relations with the former colonies in the Gulf after the termination of the British protectorate in the Persian Gulf and discuss how the British colonial ties influenced the post-colonial relations with the Arab Gulf States. Archive documents, official papers and secondary sources were used in order to determine and compare the relations in pre/post withdrawal periods and the results were analyzed in frame of the Post-colonial theory. The main argument of this study is that the British colonial relations and ties, which had been constructed in political, military, economic and institutional spheres in the colonial era, were significant determinants in reshaping the new British foreign policy towards the Arab Gulf States. Britain, who successfully adopted the colonial relations in the new term, managed to preserve its interests after the withdrawal and even extended some of them in certain fields such as the oil sector.

Çekilme öncesi ve sonrası ilişkilerin durumunu tanımlamak ve karşılaştırabilmek için arşiv belgelerinden, resmi dokümanlardan ve ikincil kaynaklardan yararlanılmış ve bulgular Post-kolonyal teori çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın temel iddiası; İngiltere’nin kolonyal dönemde inşa ettiği ilişkilerin ve kurduğu siyasi, askeri, ekonomik ve kurumsal bağların yeni dönemin politikasının şekillenmesinde belirleyici olduğu ve bunları yeni döneme adapte eden İngiltere’nin çekilme sonrasında çıkarlarını kolonyal dönemdeki gibi koruduğu; hatta petrol gibi bazı alanlarda bu çıkarları ileri seviyeye taşıdığı yönündedir.

This article aims to analyze the role, structure and activities of the Xoybun Organization in taking the Kurdish issue out to the international platforms. Despite the fact that organization did not achieve major gains during its lifetime, it provided a fresh breath and a great deal of experience to the Kurdish movements afterwards. Contrary to the Kurdish organizations that were set up before it, Xoybun Organization was structured around a military and administrative configuration. Further, believing that establishment of an independent Kurdistan depended on international support, they concentrated their efforts on international lobbying, and attempted to receive attention of the international community with various publications on the Kurdish issue. In doing so, they ushered a new era in Kurdish nationalism, Bu çalışmada Kürt sorununun uluslararası alana taşınmasında öncü olan Hoybun Örgütü’nün kuruluş süreci, bu süreci etkileyen faktörler, yapısı ve faaliyetleri ve dağılma süreci incelenmiştir. Örgüt, kendi döneminde çok ciddi kazanımlar elde edemese de, pek çok yönü ve yaklaşımları ile Kürt hareketine yeni bir soluk getirmiştir ve kendinden sonraki dönem için önemli bir birikim bırakmıştır. Hoybun’dan önceki örgütlenmelere baktığımızda, bu şekilde askeri ve idari yapılanma içine giren bir örgüt olmadığını görürüz. Daha önemlisi Hoybun, bağımsız bir Kürt devletinin kurulabilmesi sorunu uluslararası alana taşımanın gerekliliğine inanarak yabancı devletlerden destek arayışına girmiş, yayınları ile uluslararası kamuoyunun dikkatini çekmeye çalışmıştır. Bu yönüyle Kürt milliyetçiliğinde yeni bir evre başlatmıştır.

Türkiye-NATO ilişkilerinin en önemli ayaklarından birini Türkiye’deki askeri üsler oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye’nin NATO’ya üye olma sürecindeki zorlu görüşmeler büyük ölçüde kurulacak üslerin statüsüne ilişkin pazarlıklara ilişkindir. Soğuk Savaş süresince ise Türkiye açısından NATO yükümlülüklerinin en somut yansıması üslerin kullanımına dair olmuştur. ABD ile ilişkilerle iç içe geçen Türkiye’nin NATO kapsamında üstlendiği bu rol her zaman tartışmaların merkezinde yer almış, ilişkilerle birlikte üslerin statüleri, fonksiyonları sorgulanmış ve süreç içinde dönemsel olarak değişiklikler göstermişlerdir., Military bases in Turkey constitute an important leg of Turkey-NATO relations. In that sense, establishment of military bases and their use had become the most important elements of the bargaining process between Turkey and NATO during Turkey’s accession to the alliance. The issue of military bases also continued to play a vital role in relations between Turkey and the alliance after Turkey was granted a membership. Turkey’s role in the alliance was very much linked to the use of military bases located in the country throughout the Cold War. This role, at the same time, has brought along series of heated discussions over the status and functions of these bases. It is possible to examine continuity and discontinuity in legal status and functions of military bases deployed by NATO in Turkey in different periods

İki ana bölümden oluşan bu çalışmanın ilk bölümünde, Aşağı Büyük Menderes Havzasında yer alan ve geçmişte DSİ tarafından işletilen Akçay, Aydın ve Söke sulama şebekelerinin sulama birliklerine devir öncesi ve sonrası etkinliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Değerlendirmede kullanılan performans göstergeleri; Tarımsal ve Çevresel Etkinlik, Su Kullanım Etkinliği, Ekonomik Etkinlik ve Kurumsal Etkinlik Göstergeleri olarak başlıca dört başlık altında incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, devir öncesi döneme ilişkin gerekli veriler DSİ kayıtlarından, devir sonrası döneme ilişkin veriler ise DSİ ve Sulama Birlikleri kayıtlarından elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; İşletme-Bakım-Yönetim sorumluluğunun kamu kurumundan su kullanıcı örgütlere devredilmesi ile genel olarak sulama oranlarında, su ücretlerinin toplanmasında ve sulama şebekesine su sağlanmasında devir öncesi döneme oranla gelişme sağlandığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde ise, araştırma kapsamında ele alınan Akçay Sol Sahil Sulama Birliği ve Aydın Ovası Sulama Birliği’nden seçilen üreticilerle anket yapılarak, yöre çiftçisinin sulama yönetim devri konusundaki görüşleri ile sulama alışkanlıkları ve bilinç düzeyleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Anket sonuçlarına göre, yöre çiftçileri sulama yönetiminin DSİ’den sulama birliklerine devredilmesi ile sulama tesislerinin daha dikkatli kullanıldığı ve bakım-onarım hizmetlerinin daha hızlı yapıldığı görüşündedirler. Üreticilerin sulama birliğiyle iletişim kurmada sorun yaşamadıkları ancak, birlik yönetimine katılım ve söz sahibi olma konularında yeterince etkin olamadıkları belirlenmiştir. Üreticilerin sulamada kullandıkları suyun kalitesine ve sahip oldukları arazilerin topraklarının niteliklerine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu da bulgular arasındadır.
