The purpose of this study was to examine the interaction effects of gender and programs of study on attitudes of postgraduate diploma in teaching (PGDT) students towards the teaching profession. The main aim of the study was to find out whether there are any significant interaction effects of gender and programs of study of PGDT students' attitude towards the teaching profession. A descriptive survey was carried out among PGDT students during the year 2016/2017 regular session with a population of 371 students. The survey was conducted between science and non-science students in the department of teacher education at Mekelle University, Ethiopia. Using a stratified random sampling method, 130 student-teachers were selected as sample for the study. A scale entitled "attitude towards teaching profession" was developed and validated by the researchers based on established procedures in the literature (Aliyu Musa and Ado Abdu Bichi, 2015). A scale contained 15 items to be scored on the five-point Likert scale as Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Neutral (N), Disagree (D) and Strongly Disagree (SD) was used. The data analysis of descriptive statistics through quantitative analysis by computing SPSS 16.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) for Windows 10 was employed. Statistical techniques which include percentage analysis for levels, mean, standard deviation and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were also used for data analysis and interpretation. The findings of the two-way ANOVA demonstrated that there are no significant interaction effects of gender and programs of study on attitude towards the teaching profession of PGDT students. Correlation analysis of gender and programs of a study indicated that the student teachers' attitude towards the teaching profession was positively related to gender and programs of study.

Generally, the behavior patterns concerns a social significance of values. This paper highlights the various behavior patterns like planner behavior, solution oriented behavior, and prescriptive behavior patterns. The main objective of the present study is to identify the behavior patterns that influence on students' achievement in psychological foundations of learning and development: a case of Mekelle University, Ethiopia in general. The one hundred PGDT student teachers were participating in this research. The data were collected by Behavior Pattern Rating Scale created and standardized by Nihat Caliskan (Caliskan et al., 2017) and the investigator developed a self-made questionnaire for students' achievement in psychological foundations of learning and development. The data were analyzed by 't' test and Pearson's product moment correlation. The results of the study revealed that there is no significant difference was found in the relationship between behavior patterns and psychological foundations of learning and development.

The present study aims to find out the level of social intelligence and metacognition of adolescents and the correlation between social intelligence and metacognition of adolescents. Since it is a fact-finding expedition, survey method was adopted by the investigator. Stratified random sampling techniques of 120 adolescents falling in the age group of 18-20 years were taken for this investigation. The above samples were taken from the undergraduate students who are studying in two Government arts and science colleges in Tiruchirappalli District which are the Colleges, affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, of whom 69 are boys and 51 are girls. Special attention was given to such factors like gender and subjects. Social Intelligence Scale is developed and validated by the investigator (2011) and Metacognition Inventory by Punitha Govil (2003) was used to collect the data. The data are analyzed by percentage analysis, mean, standard deviation, 't' test and correlation. The findings of the study results reveal that (i) the 54.2 percent of adolescents have a high level of social intelligence and 67.5 percent of adolescents have a moderate level of metacognition, (ii) there is a significant difference between boy and girl adolescents with regard to social intelligence and its dimensions namely social information processing, social awareness and social skills (iii) there is no significant difference between boy and girl adolescents with regard to metacognition and its dimensions such as regulation of cognition and knowledge of cognition (iv) there is significant difference between arts group and science group adolescents in their social intelligence and in their metacognition, (v) there is no significant relationship between social intelligence and metacognition of adolescents with regard to boy, arts group and science group respondents, but there is no significant relationship between social intelligence and metacognition of adolescents with regard to girl respondents.

Teacher competence refers to the right way of conveying units of knowledge, application, and skills to students. This paper also highlights the various competencies like the use of appropriate techniques, efficacy in Teaching, effective use of Aids, rapport with students and colleagues, and catering to individual differences. The present study is undertaken to study the teaching competency of B.Ed. female teacher trainees. The major objective of the study is to find out the difference between (i) rural and urban (ii) Government and Self-financing college (iii) girls and Co-education College and (iv) Undergraduate, Postgraduate and M.Phil. degree B.Ed. female teacher trainees. The 148 samples were taken from the B.Ed. female teacher trainees who are studying in the ten colleges of education in Thanjavur and Pudukottai districts which are the colleges of education, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University, Chennai. The data were collected by Teaching Competency Scale standardized by Dorathi Rani (2000). Special attention was given to such factors like nature of college, type of college and degree of B.Ed. female teacher trainees. The data are analyzed by t-test and ANOVA. The results revealed that there is a significant difference between (i) urban and rural (ii) Government college and Self-financing college and (iii) girls college and Co-education College B.Ed. female teacher trainees in their teaching competency and (iv) there is no significant difference among undergraduate, postgraduate and M.Phil. degree B.Ed. female teacher trainees.

The present study aims to investigate whether there is any significant relationship between adjustment and academic achievement of higher secondary school students. In this survey study, the investigators used stratified random sampling technique for selecting the sample from the population. The stratification was done on the basis of gender and locality of students. The sample consists of 350 higher secondary school students from ten schools in Thanjavur District, TamilNadu, India. The tools used for the present study were Adjustment Inventory developed by A.K.P. Sinha and R.P. Singh (2007) and academic achievement constructed by the investigator. The statistical techniques used for analyzing the data for the present study was Karl Pearson's product moment co-efficient of correlation. The finding shows that, there is a significant relationship between emotional, social, educational adjustment of higher secondary school students in relation to academic achievement.

The main objective of this study is to find out the level of study skills of arts and science college students. Study Skills Check List developed and standardized by Virginia University, Australia (2006) is used to collect the relevant data. The sample consists of 216 Government arts and science college students of Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, South India, of whom 108 are men and 108 are women. The data are analysed by mean, standard deviation and "t" test. The results indicate that there is no significant difference between men and women, arts group and science group students and the students of rural and urban arts and science colleges in their study skills. But there is significant difference between undergraduate and postgraduate students of arts and science colleges in their study skills. The undergraduate students are better in their study skills than the postgraduate students of arts and science colleges.

The present study aims to explore the relationship between affect intensity and study involvement ofB.Ed. college teacher trainees. Since it is a fact-finding expedition, survey method was adopted by the investigator. The samples for this investigation were taken from the students studying in six colleges of education (B.Ed. College) in Thanjavur district. Special attention was given to such factors as gender, locality, and educational qualification. 150 B.Ed. college teacher trainees were taken for this investigation as a sample by simple random sampling technique. Study Involvement Inventory by Bhatnagar (1982) and Affect Intensity Measure (AIM) by Larsen (1984) were used to collect the data. To analyze the data mean, standard deviation, t' test and correlation analysis were used as statistical techniques. The findings show that (i) there is no significant difference between male and female B.Ed. college teacher trainees in their study involvement, (ii) there is no significant difference between male and female B.Ed. college teacher trainees in their affect intensity, and (iii) there is a significant relationship between affect intensity and study involvement of B.Ed. college teacher trainees.

The present study aims to examine the attitude of B.Ed. students towards ICT. The investigator has adopted the survey method of research. The sample consists of 250 B.Ed. students from four colleges of education selected by stratified random sampling technique. The investigator developed a self-made questionnaire of 25 items to measure the attitude of the B.Ed. students towards ICT. The investigator established content validity and reliability by split-half method, and the value is 0.76. To find out the meaning, interpretation of the raw scores, the data were analysed using mean, standard deviation 't' test. The findings show (a) there is no significant difference in the attitude of B.Ed. students towards ICT with regard to (i) gender, (ii) discipline, (iii) course of study, and (iv) locality, and (b) aided colleges of education B.Ed. students are better than government college students in their attitude towards ICT.

Cloud computing technology is quite inevitable in today's smart world. The excessive utilization of data mandates updated storage space, which is highly expensive and cloud storage is the best solution to it. As charges are levied for the utilized space, data redundancy must be avoided for the effective exploitation of cloud space. Data deduplication is a technique, which removes redundant data and conserves storage, bandwidth and charges. However, data retrieval upon deduplicated data is not well explored in the existing literature. This work attempts to present an effective retrieval framework for deduplicated data in a cloud environment by presenting two protocols namely Data Outsourcing Protocol (DOP) and Data Retrieval Protocol (DRP). The retrieval performance of the proposed approach is tested and compared with the existing approaches in terms of standard performance measures. The work performance of the proposed Deduplicated Data Retrieval (DDR) framework performs better in terms of retrieval precision, recall and time conservation rates. BACKGROUND: Protection of wireless technology-enabled e-healthcare data transfer over constrained devices of body sensor networks using lightweight security mechanisms is the demand of health sector nowadays. OBJECTIVE: A new secure wireless body sensor network architecture (S-WBSN) with reduced CPU cycles and computational cost is proposed. S-WBSN uses OTP-Q (One-Time Pad-Quasi) and Diffie-Hellman key exchange algorithms for encryption and mutual authentication, respectively. METHODS: To ensure mutual authentication among < WBSN, Local Processing Center (LPC) > and < WBSN, Data Server > components, the Diffie-Hellman key exchange algorithm is used. Using the S-WBSN architecture, security requirements such as mutual authentication, and privacy preservation thwarting security attacks are perfectly met comparing other security-based research works on healthcare data monitoring. RESULTS: The one-time pad-based quasi-group algorithm is a stream block cipher that operates on the data observed from the sensors of the WBSN. Before transmitting encrypted data, authentication is to be established. CONCLUSION: The proposed system methodology proves to be efficient and consumes fewer CPU cycles. The ultrasonic based nondestructive testing (NDT) is the common technique used to perform material testing using ultrasonic signals. These signals are difficult to interpret and the examiner has to focus on every sampling signal to observe the changes in characteristics of signals. The core target points of the proposed work are used to identify the size and position of the defects as fast as possible. For that, an unsupervised machine learning approach is proposed to analyze defects such as shrinkage, porosity, crack, discontinuity, lack of fusion, lack of penetration and overlap. This would be helpful in the domain of material science and knowledge mining to study the structural integrity of metals during the manufacturing process and can be applied in automobile industries to increase the quality of manufactured parts. The proposed work incorporates a novel Density-Based Dynamically Self-Parameterized Clustering for Material Inspection (DBDSPCMI) method to effectively predict and identify the defect size and its position. The understanding of students' concepts of SMP Negeri 1 Kandangan on the material of the skeletal system is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of applying Android-based Augmented Reality laboratory coats to students with different academic abilities on understanding the concept of skeletal system material for students of SMP Negeri 1 Kandangan. This research is a quasi-experiment or quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population used in this study were all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kandangan. In contrast, the samples in this study were class VII A as the control class and class VII B as the experimental class, which would be treated as applying an Augmented Reality Android-based. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning model conducted via online (e-PjBL) on the concept understanding of evaluation in the biology learning. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test group design is chosen in this study. The research is carried out at the Biology Education Study Program of Universitas Tidar in March - June 2021. A total of 63 college students become the sample in this research which are divided into experimental class and control class. The instrument used to collect the data is in the form of a concept understanding test about the evaluation of biology learning. Then, the results of the data are analyzed by quantitative. The results show that there is no difference in the use of online Project-Based Learning models on the concept understanding of evaluation in biology learning. This is indicated by the results of hypothesis test which is 0.184 > 0.05. Meanwhile, the average N-Gain in the experimental class is 0.2083 which belongs to the ineffective category. Next, several factors become obstacles to the online Project-Based Learning that causes this learning model to be ineffective.

Chemical durability behavior of simulated crystalline oxyapatite wasteforms CaLa3.4Ce0.1Pr0.1Nd0.1Sm0.1Gd0.1Y0.1(SiO4)3O [WF-1] and Ca0.8Sr0.1Pb0.1La3.4Ce0.1Pr0.1Nd0.1Sm0.1Gd0.1Y0.1(SiO4)3O [WF-2] was studied. Soxhlet leach tests (MCC-5) were conducted and the leachates were analyzed by ICP-MS/OES techniques. The results indicate that the release of ions from the wasteform was found to be strongly dependent on chemical compositions, as WF-1 shows relatively more resistance towards leaching than parent and WF-2. The leachability of immobilized rare-earth ions in WF-1 and WF-2 was found to be negligible. The observed trend of leaching behaviour in all three systems is Si4+ > A2+ > RE3+. Further, the investigation on the mechanism of leaching suggested that the leaching process is predominantly governed by diffusion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
