Investigated suicides among female chemists (n=28) and male chemists (n=63) for age, marital status, educational qualifications, type of employment, minority status, chemical specialties, and method of suicide. While it is true that the total suicide rates has varied little, this composite figure masks a dramatic shift in the risk of suicide by age. In recent years there has been a reduction of suicide at older ages reciprocated by an unprecedented increase of suicide and homicide at younger ages. (Author)

The article investigates the pattern of marijuana use among the public health students in California. The study shows that marijuana has a pervading use among public health students. A recent poll illustrate that the usage patterns varied in terms of age, sex, educational background, and place of residence. Other studies focused on youthful populations revealed that the prevalence of marijuana use was identical for both males and females. Here, age remained one of the most relevant factors associated with use due to the fact that half of those drug users were in the 16- to 25-year age range. Moreover, these studies tend to be beneficial for more realistic and honest drug use policies are advocated as a public health responsibility.
