This article presents the life story of Profile. The story is based on an ethnographic case study that aimed to understand the viewpoints of Profile’s new writers and reviewers regarding the role of scientific journals in fostering communities in the knowledge society. To gather information, I relied on personal reflections from my experience as the creator and editor of the journal, along with documentary evidence (published issues, regularly collected statistics, editorial workflows, and communications with editorial teams and various bodies of Universidad Nacional de Colombia, which funds the publication). The story illustrates the inception, development, and primary challenges that need to be addressed to ensure its continuity.

This article presents the results of an integrative of the literature review on science communication. The objective is to know the panorama of R+D+i in science communication during 6 years; for this purpose, the existing literature on scientific communication is analysed in the databases Web of Science (WoS), Scopus and Dialnet, and define the formal dimensions (time frame, categories, fields of knowledge and lines of research) that have shaped the approaches within relevant articles included in the review. This analysis covers the period 2017-2022 and aims to serve as a reference to study the importance of research in scientific communication in different fields of knowledge, as well as to highlight the need for professional scientific communication in the educational, social, cultural, and social fields and professional domains. To do this, a search has been carried out through three databases, WOS (Web of Science), Scopus, and Dialnet by using a series of search criteria related to science communication. From these searches, the pertinent documents have been selected through reading the abstract and the author’s keywords, to assess later and determine which category created ad hoc based on research on science communication (educational, social, cultural, and professional domains) belongs to each document and find out which journal has published the most on the object of study during the 2017-2022 period. In a conclusion, the interest is limited to the branches of social sciences in areas such as communication, journalism and information and documentation sciences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Scientific research in Social Work has become increasingly important in higher education. Although this discipline's incorporation into academic research was delayed, it remains highly relevant. This article explores and analyzes the current bibliographic production in Social Work in Andalusia, using the Web of Science database. The main objective is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of this field, examining indices related to Social Work and identifying its weaknesses and strengths. The analysis will use three primary tools: SPSS, SCIMAT, and VosViewer. This bibliometric analysis will evaluate the scientific production in Social Work, off ering a comprehensive overview of its scope and quality. Results may indicate that the bibliometric index of this field is below expected or potential standards. Additionally, it might be noted that higher-indexed articles are often written in English by professionals outside the specific field of Social Work. These findings suggest the need to strengthen research in Social Work by increasing scientific production and encouraging the participation of social work professionals in knowledge generation. The results also highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and establishing connections with professionals from other related research areas. This study aims to provide a detailed insight into the bibliographic production in Social Work in Andalusia through a bibliometric approach. The results will help identify strengths and weaknesses in this field, off ering valuable information for future research and the development of Social Work as a scientific discipline. AbstractThis study delves into the dynamic relationship between social networks (SNs) and the metrics of scientific journals, with the goal of illuminating their collaborative potential. Focused on the journal ‘Retos de ciencias de la administración y la economía’, which is indexed in Scopus, this investigation employs an empirical, cross-sectional, and correlational approach. The study analyzes over 160 journals indexed in Latindex, incorporating SN presence and Google Scholar profiles. The study’s findings underscore the pivotal role that strategic utilization of academic social networks plays in bolstering the visibility and recognition of scientific journals. By investigating the interplay between Facebook posts and journal citations, the research unveils correlations that indicate the power of SNs to contribute to improved metrics. The analysis further highlights the nexus between SN activity and follower engagement, shedding light on the avenue for growth in both areas. Notably, the correlation between social media engagement and Google Scholar citations underlines the interconnected nature of SNs and scholarly impact. The study also recognizes the intricate dynamics at play, suggesting that the relationship between SN activity and citations is influenced by a range of factors, including content quality and thematic alignment. Furthermore, it emphasizes the significance of an integrated approach, where SN management aligns with the goals of academic journals, thereby facilitating enhanced academic engagement and influence. Longitudinal studies could elucidate the evolution of SN-integrated strategies, while comparative analyses of diverse social media platforms could uncover the nuances of visibility enhancement.

The present study investigates Peer Review Ethics (PRE) in scientific journals in Iran, with a specific focus on compiling the PRE statement for the Journal of Information Processing and Management (JIPM). Moreover, qualitative analysis was conducted on the PRE statements of the journals published by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT). The review process and documents of the JIPM were then analyzed. This evidence-based case study was conducted using a mixed-method approach, which included three research methods: researcher-based, data-based, and research-based. A focus group discussion (FGD) was also conducted to validate the research findings. The findings showed that PRE elements were classified such as “timeliness,” “confidentiality,” “bias,” “conflict of interest,” “research misconduct,” “respectful and fair expressions,” “constructive and objective feedback,” and “accountability and responsibility.” The analysis of ethical statements in MSRT journals found that only half of the journals published PRE statements. In addition, 102 instances of violations of PRE, accounting for 15% of each review, were identified in documents submitted for review in JIPM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As disinformation has become a topic of conversation in the media in recent years, the theory of agenda setting is once again making its presence known. The aim of this research is to verify the degree of interest in disinformation by the media (mainstream press) and in academic writing (scientific communication journals) according to frequency and whether or not such disinformation can be observed in the field of science. The primary research has been carried out through quantitative content analysis of three Spanish newspapers (El País, Abc, El Mundo) and 32 Spanish scientific communication journals included in the SJR-SCImago Journal Rank database from the year 2000 to 2023. The results were 732 units of analysis. From those, it can be concluded that once again, the pandemic represents a before and after. Firstly, a general increase in disinformation has been observed, as well as a corresponding rise in false information in certain fields of science, especially that of health. Secondly, a gradual increase in public interest in disinformation has also been detected, which indicates that the issue is on the agenda of both the media and citizens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to investigate the attitudes and actions of scientific journal editors in China towards open access. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 Chinese editors from various scientific journals during September and October of 2022. The results indicate that the editors generally possess knowledge of open access and have implemented an appropriate open access model for their respective journals. However, the Chinese-language journal editors expressed a lack of motivation to adopt open access, unless there is a reform in the mechanism of academic publishing or a policy is imposed. On the other hand, the English-language journal editors acknowledged that they have no other choice but to adopt open access. This study helps us learn about Chinese editors' understanding and attitudes towards open access, the current status of open access in China's scientific journals, and the mechanisms of academic publishing in China. TWENTIETH century ,PERIODICAL publishing ,MANAGERIAL economics ,ECONOMIC development ,TWENTY-first century ,ELECTRONIC journals - Abstract
Scientific journal publishing has become a lucrative enterprise, for commercial firms and (some) society publishers alike; but it was not always thus. The Royal Society is the publisher of the world's longest-running scientific journal, and for most of the history of the Philosophical Transactions, its publication was a severe drain on the Society's finances. This paper uses the rich archives of the Royal Society to investigate the economic transformation of journal publishing over the course of the twentieth century. It began the century as a scholarly mission activity heavily subsidized by the Society, but ended it as a valuable income stream. Never-before-seen data reveal three phases: the end of the philanthropic model of circulation; the transition to a sales-based commercial model amidst the post-war boom in subscriber numbers; and the challenges facing that new business model once subscriber numbers went into decline in the late twentieth century. The paper does not directly address the open access movement of the twenty-first century, but is essential reading to understand the financial background. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Teachers are fundamentally required to have pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies. One of their continuing professional competencies is to conduct academic publications. This study aims to explore academic publications in journals conducted by Indonesian language subject teachers at the high school level in Three Regions of Cirebon and the factors affecting them. The data were obtained by interviewing 138 out of 152 teachers because some school principals did not allow the interview and no permission letter from the National Unity and Political Agency, especially in Cirebon City. The interview results show that 35% of teachers have never published in Academic journals. This condition is partly due to the following factors: a) time, b) the purpose of the journal, c) lack of confidence, d) difficulty in researching online, e) age approaching retirement, f) technology stuttering, g) not accustomed to writing, h) lack of motivation, i) need approval from the supervisor, j) lack of knowledge on how to create an article, k) there is no demand and l) availability of funds. Therefore, there needs to be efforts from several parties, especially the school community. For example, the Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) activities can also be utilized to introduce and familiarize teachers with Academic publications. School principals provide facilities for teachers to be able to conduct academic publications. This descriptive research explores the patterns of health news in Punch and Tribune online newspapers from 2018 to 2022, emphasizing the reliance on foreign research by both publications in a bid to curb health misinformation online. With a population of 765 and a sample size of 533, the study reveals Punch's consistent rise in yearly research journal-sourced health news, contrasting with Tribune's fluctuating trend. The Punch heavily favors foreign research (98.1%), while Tribune maintains a more balanced approach with 51.4% from Nigerian sources. The findings underscore disparities in editorial strategies, raising concerns about the visibility of local health research. The study recommends increased collaboration with local researchers and enhanced accessibility of local research, for a more comprehensive and contextually relevant portrayal of health topics to curb health misinformation.

- Abstract
Articles scattered in the VINITI abstract database dated 2020–2022 are studied using the example of three thematic fragments: chemistry and chemical technologies, mechanical engineering, and metallurgy and welding. The mathematical formulas of Bradford and Vickery were used to calculate the number of journals in the third scattering zone. It is argued that the Bradford–Vickery law of publication scattering allows us to predict the minimum number of journals that cover more than 90% of articles quantity on a certain topic. The optimization of journal selection is reduced to the solution of the well-known knapsack problem. It is proposed to rank journals by thematic relevance. Unlike the Bradford model, intended to select the most productive journals, the proposed model is designed to select the most relevant journals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ELECTRONIC publishing , *SCIENCE publishing , *PERIODICAL publishing , *SERIAL publication of books , *SCIENTIFIC communication - Abstract
This article analyzes the quantitative changes in the publishing of Lithuanian scientific journals from 2015 to 2022. The research, aiming to comprehensively examine the printed and electronic scientific journals published by the public and private sectors, revealed state bibliographic accounting and terminology issues. The identified gaps and ambiguities allow for the improvement of official publishing accounting, avoiding ambiguities in assessing the volume of scientific journal publishing in the future. Science policymakers and implementers should take the initiative to standardize the definition of scientific journals, as only in this way would there be a clearer attitude towards this form of scientific communication. Although the annual volumes of scientific journal publishing decreased by 18.1% (decreasing from 265 in 2015 to 217 publications in 2022), the drop was not abrupt. The decline was stabilized by business involvement, increased publishing activities of colleges, and the transformation of professional journals, book series, and conference proceedings into scientific journals. Flexibility was provided by electronic publishing tools, reducing dependence on external financial sources. The public publishing sector tended to reduce the number of scientific journals in all scientific fields. This was mainly influenced by the restructuring of the higher university sciences network, qualitative requirements for scientific articles, and the reorganization of scientific teams. The publishing business saw the greatest potential in the fields of technology and medical and health sciences, so the volumes of journals in these scientific fields have not decreased and continued to grow. Despite the growth trends of the private sector, 50% of the journals count 30 or more years of publishing. This forms the core of Lithuanian scientific journals, which public sector publishers seek to preserve and integrate into the international scientific environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The coverage limitations of citation databases, the scant presence of Colombian journals in them, and issues with existing classifications justify the creation of products that cover aspects not present in international indices and that allow evaluating the national production and its contributors. This article presents, based on a sample of education journals, the methodology for creating a citation-based tool that is useful for obtaining indicators and descriptions of journals and scientific activity at various levels. This initiative is based on the Spanish proposal Dialnet Métricas, already active in most areas of social sciences, humanities, and law, as well as on the interest it represents for Colombia to have a tool that allows analyzing journals beyond the fulfillment of criteria and provides indicators that contribute to the evaluation of science. This work outlines the process of journal selection, the management of the source data used, a citation analysis, and a description and visualization of the indicators. The value and contributions of the tool in the Colombian context are confirmed through the obtainment of citations and indicators for a considerable number of national journals and through their comparison with Publindex. - Abstract
This work aims to present a detailed evaluation instrument with the best possible operating conditions for the analysis of academic journals, from the point of view of the research staff. This protocol is based on the identification and operationalization of indicators previously obtained through the heuristic analysis method, a systematic review and expert observation. This work has resulted in a multidimensional characterization instrument composed of 31 indicators–each with its description, examination procedure and examples–articulated in seven major parameters: impact, dissemination, submission process, costs, journal services and commitment to both the European Research Council (ERC) Plan S and the DORA declaration. In 2006, Profesional de la Información (EPI) began to be indexed by international scientific literature databases and is currently one of the leading Spanish journals in Library & Information Science and in Communication. Research fields can be characterized and analysed based on the patterns of keywords used in the publications. One of the most used techniques for this is co-word analysis. This technique is used in the present study to examine the structure of the research published in EPI. The journal's two-fold spirit in Library & Information Science and in Communication is revealed, comprising six main thematic areas. Since no poor behaviour is seen in any of these areas, it can be concluded that, in becoming part of WoS and Scopus, EPI has entered a virtuous cycle that has led it to successfully expand its thematic scope, and to attain levels of impact and excellence superior to those of its origins. The evaluation of scientific journals poses challenges owing to the existence of various impact measures. This is because journal ranking is a multidimensional construct that may not be assessed effectively using a single metric such as an impact factor. A few studies have proposed an ensemble of metrics to prevent the bias induced by an individual metric. In this study, a multi-metric journal ranking method based on the standardized average index (SA index) was adopted to develop an extended standardized average index (ESA index). The ESA index utilizes six metrics: the CiteScore, Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), Hirsh index (H-index), Eigenfactor Score, and Journal Impact Factor from three well-known databases (Scopus, SCImago Journal & Country Rank, and Web of Science). Experiments were conducted in two computer science subject areas: (1) artificial intelligence and (2) computer vision and pattern recognition. Comparing the results of the multi-metric-based journal ranking system with the SA index, it was demonstrated that the multi-metric ESA index exhibited high correlation with all other indicators and significantly outperformed the SA index. To further evaluate the performance of the model and determine the aggregate impact of bibliometric indices with the ESA index, we employed unsupervised machine learning techniques such as clustering coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE). These techniques were utilized to measure the clustering impact of various bibliometric indicators on both the complete set of bibliometric features and the reduced set of features. Furthermore, the results of the ESA index were compared with those of other ranking systems, including the internationally recognized Scopus, SJR, and HEC Journal Recognition System (HJRS) used in Pakistan. These comparisons demonstrated that the multi-metric-based ESA index can serve as a valuable reference for publishers, journal editors, researchers, policymakers, librarians, and practitioners in journal selection, decision making, and professional assessment. Objectives: the article aims to analyse the characteristics of content curation carried out by Ibero-American scientific journals of information and documentation in their social networks. Methodology: descriptive research based on the technique of content analysis of digital products, where both a quantitative approach is presented, regarding the presence of the elements studied, and a qualitative approach, of analysis and selection of good practices. All Ibero-American journals in the Library and Information Science category have been examined according to Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR). Results: 60% of magazines have profiles on social networks, although only 55% are active, their preferred platform being Twitter. Content curation predominates in their publications, present in 86% of their posts in 15 of the 18 profiles analysed; at the thematic level, the majority of publications post about the current issue (60.57%); in each social network profile, one curation technique usually predominates above the rest, the most used being Comment (6 profiles), followed by Extract, Summarize and Quote (in 4). It is concluded that a good part of the Ibero-American information and documentation magazines have social networks and that they widely use content curation techniques to disseminate their academic production. In the perspective of the development of science, not only scientific facts are important, but also the environment in which the increase in knowledge takes place. One of the manifestations of the social context of practicing science is the existence of scientific journals, which have been created as a representation of the potential of a specific scientific community. Current changes aimed at trying to develop objective criteria for assessing scientific work also affect the process of creating scientific journals. There are some opportunities associated with this, including: greater openness to cooperation with other centers, or greater objectivity in the assessment of scientific work. However, this is also accompanied by threats, such as the loss of the local specificity of a given magazine and the depersonalization of the publishing process.

The main aim of the article is to explore the role of periodical scientific publications and their role in pedagogy. Successful state policy in the field of building an information-aware society in the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted state programs and normative-legal documents make it necessary to solve the issues of reconstruction and development of scientific activity on the basis of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) within the framework of reforms in science. The application of ICT in scientific activities and issues of scientific management is implemented within the framework of electronic science as one of the priority directions of reforms in the field of science in the Republic. The construction and development of scientific activity in accordance with modern requirements, the improvement of scientific management, the formation of a national scientific and informational space, the creation of close ties between scientific organizations, collectives and scientists, the improvement of the efficiency of scientific management and research in all areas of science in the modern world due to the wide use of opportunities for ICT development at the level of standards and integration into the world scientific space are relevant issues nowadays. After the restoration of the state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as a result of the gradual integration of academic librarians into the international scientific environment, new quality requirements appeared. The informational needs of specialists began to be met in three directions. Firstly, scientific-theoretical and experimental problems, published and presented in important scientific journal titled "Respublika" (Republic). Azerbaijani scientists participated more comprehensively and productively on this platform. Scientific innovations, innovative projects and analytical works of scientists were reflected on this platform. Additinally, the merits of professor A. A. Khalafov in compiling educational programs in the areas of library work, bibliography and bookkeeping, writing educational literature, presenting scientific articles in the scientific press, and, at the same time, in training specialists who meet new requirements were great. In the same year, Professor H.Ismailov, who for a long time was the dean of the Faculty of Libraries and Informatics of Baku State University, along with the training of professional specialists, founded the scientific and practical journal "Library and Bibliography" in 1997 and organized its activities, and for a long time he was the only Azerbaijan specialized scientific journal, distinguished by high professionalism. In 2010, Professor A. A. Khalafov founded the scientific and applied journal "Librarianship and Information", soon the first issue of the journal was published. The article is based on the method of comparative analysis. Application importance: the material can be used in lecturers and seminars in Higher Education Institutions.

Purpose: The content analysis of the scientific papers can indicate the path of development and thematic orientations in any field. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the subjecttrends of the field of knowledge and information science in Iranian journals based on the LDA model. Method: The current research is descriptive and exploratory; since text-mining techniques were used to identify hidden topics and topic trends in the field of knowledge and information science based on the LDA algorithm. The statistical population of the current research includes abstracts and keywords of papers published in 11 scientific journals approved by the Iran Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology in the field of knowledge and information science during 2015-2019, which includes 1581 papers. The validity of the LDA method has been confirmed in previous studies and the reliability of the extracted data was confirmed by the inter-rater reliability method. Findings: The findings showed that, in general, the subjects of citation analysis, library, and web were the interest subjects of researchers in the field of knowledge and information science, respectively, in the first to third place. During 2015 - 2019, the subjects of "Organizational Culture", "Social Networks", "Information Literacy", "Knowledge Management" and "Instagram" were the main subjects of the field of knowledge and information science. Another finding of the research showed that in different journals, different and sometimes common topics have been of interest to researchers in the field of knowledge and information science. Knowledge management and similar and related topics such as knowledge sharing are more important in the two journals of "The Journal of Studies in Library and Information Science" and "The Iranian Journal of Information Processing & Management". Also in most journals "Librarians" and "Users" have been among the main subjects studied. Conclusion: Data mining techniques can be a suitable tool to facilitate and speed up the formulation of thematic processes in a field. In order to keep up with the journals of the field worldwide, it is necessary that the topics related to technology be considered in more journals. Also, journal editors should try to publish papers based on the policy and thematic areas overtime.

metadata ,word file ,pdf file ,html file ,indexing ,data recovery ,scientific journals ,standards of publications ,Information technology ,T58.5-58.64 ,Information theory ,Q350-390 - Abstract
Purpose: Scientific journals, as sources that provide first-class information to the scientific and research community, are expected to present their best to index and store articles accurately and quickly by search engines and databases. Among them, metadata is the best solution. Using metadata in article files can speed up retrieval appropriately in the semantic web environment. Therefore, the amount of information in the hidden web environment will be reduced, and as a result, the access and citation of articles will increase, and this will lead to the acceleration and improvement of the science dissemination process. Therefore, the current research aims to investigate the use of metadata in scientific journal articles inside and outside the country based on the authors' instructions and files uploaded in three formats: Word, PDF, and HTML. Method: This research is of a descriptive type and was conducted by a survey method. The research community inside the country includes 90 international journals available on the journal ranking site of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Information Technology. For checking the conditions of entering the research, 50 journals were examined if they have an active page and link. Abroad, the multiplicity and dispersion of the subject created a heterogeneous society for investigation. Therefore, to solve this problem, the journals of three major publishers of scientific journals in different subject areas, namely Wiley, Elsevier, and Springer were selected and included in the study, each of which publishes the number of 2756, 2937, and 3750 journals respectively. The aforementioned publishers had the same publication structure and authors' guidelines for all journals, which made it easier to collect data and homogenize the community. The data collection tool is also a researcher-made checklist with 41 items (questions) in three parts to check Word, PDF files, and HTML. Each of the questions was extracted according to the standardsraised concerning metadata on the website of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The face validity of the checklist was confirmed by a group of professors of the Department of Information Science and Epistemology, and its reliability was confirmed with Cronbach's alpha coefficientof 0.74. Findings: Among domestic journals, there are no instructions in the authors' guide for preparing a Word file, and among foreign publishers, only Springer has paid attention to this issue. About the HTML file. Also, none of the internal journals have HTML files, but foreign publishers have paid attention to this issue and have acted according to metadata standards. Also, only a limited number of journals have taken into consideration the metadata requirements that can be implemented by the authors and required the authors to comply with them. The result of the significant analysis of the difference between domestic and foreign journals in components of Word, PDF, and HTML showed the significant value of the Kruskal-Wallis test for PDF files and HTML was less than 0.05 (sig≤0.05), so it can be said that the observed difference regarding the level of metadata compliance in PDF files and H.T.M.L., among domestic and foreign journals, is meaningful; But regarding Word files, the observed difference is not significant and the findings are at the same level. Conclusion: Measuring the difference between domestic and foreign magazines in the components mentioned in three Word, PDF files, and H.T.M.L. is meaningful. Domestic journals (those that are published internationally and were the target of study in this research) do not pay any attention to these components mentioned in the three files of Word, PDF. and did not have HTML. Only 9 journals published by Springer Publications, because this publisher has a general instruction for all authors, have paid attention to the issue of metadata in Word file setting and include it in PDF files and H.T.M.L. of articles. In general, the attention to metadata and its use among domestic journals is almost zero, and it is necessary to pay serious attention to this issue in order to improve the quality of indexing and access to articles.

Open review is one of the components of open science that scientific journals are incorporating in their editorial processes. In contrast to open access to literature and research data, open review still raises many doubts and concerns among the involved parties (editors, reviewers and authors). This article aims to analyze the perception of editors of Brazilian academic journals on open peer review. To achieve this, a questionnaire was sent to 3,208 editors, out of which 351 responded to the full set of 42 questions. The editors expressed satisfaction with the current model of scientific communication, the double-blind model, and disagreed with any type of identification of reviewers. However, they perceived an advantage in open review, as it allows for mutual interaction between authors and reviewers with the goal of improving the quality of content. As barriers, they pointed out conflicts of interest and rivalries that open review might generate and the difficulty in finding reviewers willing to accept this review model. The overall conclusion points to a conservative profile among editors regarding the introduction of open peer review practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACTING & indexing services , *PERIODICAL editors , *PUBLISHING - Abstract
This study was guided by previous research highlighting the significance of journal publishers' commercial or non‐profit orientations in shaping academic editors' perspectives regarding the necessity of enhancing editorial and business practices. There is limited understanding of how the editor–publisher relationship varies based on publishers' commercial orientation. This study revealed five key factors influencing editors' attitudes towards how publishers strive to provide high‐quality publications: (i) availability of high‐quality publication services; (ii) sufficient technological support and access to visibility‐related data; (iii) accessible marketing and indexing services; (iv) access to continuous education for the editorial team; and (v) a balance between editorial autonomy and publisher support in managing the journal. The study indicated that editors partnering with commercial publishers tended to receive more extensive and advanced services, better technological support, and more training opportunities, contributing to the production of superior end products. However, working with commercial publishers resulted in the trade‐off of less editorial independence, which sometimes compromised editors' decision‐making ability and made them feel uncertain about their further involvement. The study's findings highlighted the importance of publishers adopting a more strategic approach to support their editorial staff, while considering the unique needs of each journal.
