41st International Conference on High Energy physics, ICHEP2022, Bologna, Italy, 6 Jul 2022 - 13 Jul 2022; Proceedings of Science / International School for Advanced Studies (ICHEP2022), 783 (2022). doi:10.22323/1.414.0783, Azimuthal single- and double-spin asymmetries measured at HERMES in semi-inclusive leptoproduction of pions, charged kaons, protons, and antiprotons from a transversely polarized hydrogen target are presented. The results of a re-analysis of the previously published Collins and Sivers asymmetries, extended to include protons and antiprotons as well as an extraction in a multi-dimensional binning and enlarged phase space, is reported along with the corresponding results for the remaining single- and double-spin asymmetries associated to the semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering process with a transversely polarized target. Among those results, significant non-vanishing ${\rm cos}(\phi − \phi_s)$ modulations provide evidence for a sizable worm-gear distribution $𝑔_{1𝑇}$ . Most of the other modulations are found to be consistent with zero with the notable exception of large ${\rm sin}(𝜙_s)$ modulations for charged pions and positively charged kaons., Published by SISSA, Trieste

The opinions and conclusions expressed herein are those of the authors and do not represent any funding agencies., High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe standard model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). In this report, we review the status of the civil engineering plans and the experiments to explore the diverse physics signals that can be uniquely probed in the forward region. FPF experiments will be sensitive to a broad range of BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in high statistics analyses with TeV neutrinos in this low-background environment. High statistics neutrino detection will also provide valuable data for fundamental topics in perturbative and non-perturbative QCD and in weak interactions. Experiments at the FPF will enable synergies between forward particle production at the LHC and astroparticle physics to be exploited. [EN] We present the first measurement of the branching fraction of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed (SCS) decay Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta' with eta' -> eta pi(+)pi(-), using a data sample cor- responding to an integrated luminosity of 981 fb(-1), collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider. A significant Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta' signal is observed for the first time with a signal significance of 5.4 sigma. The relative branching fraction with respect to the normalization mode Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+) is measured to be B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta')/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = (7.54 +/- 1.32 +/- 0.73) x 10(-3), We thank the KEKB group for the excellent operation of the accelerator; the KEK cryogenics group for the efficient operation of the solenoid; and the KEK computer group, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) computing group for strong computing support; and the National Institute of Informatics, and Science Information NETwork 5 (SINET5) for valuable network support. [EN] We present a search for the decays of B-0 mesons into a final state containing a Lambda baryon and missing energy. These results are obtained from a 711 fb(-1) data sample that contains 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs and was collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We use events in which one B meson is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode and require the remainder of the event to consist of only a single A. No evidence for these decays is found, and we set 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions in the range 2.1-3.8 x 10(-5). This measurement provides the world's most restrictive limits, with implications for baryogenesis and dark matter production. The authors thank G. Alonso-alvarez, G. Elor, M. Escudero, and A. [EN] Using the entire data sample of 980 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, we present measurements of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Xi c(0) -> Lambda K-S(0), Xi(0)(c) ->Sigma K-0(S)0, and Xi c(0) -> Sigma K-+(-). Taking the decay Xi c(0) -> Xi(-)pi(+) as the normalization mode, we measure the branching fraction ratio B(Xi(0)(c) -> Lambda K-S(0))=B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+)) = 0.229 + 0.008 + 0.012 with improved precision, and measure the branching fraction ratios B(Xi 0c -> Sigma K-0(S)0)=B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+)) = 0.038 + 0.006 + 0.004 and B(Xi(0)(c) -> Sigma K-+(-))=B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+)) = 0.123 + 0.007 + 0.010 for the first time. Taking into account the branching fraction of the normalization mode, the absolute branching fractions are determined to be B(Xi(0)(c) -> Lambda K-S(0)) = (3.27 + 0.11 + 0.17 + 0.73) x 10(-3), B(Xi(0)(c) -> Sigma K-0(S)0) = (0.54 + 0.09 + 0.06 +0.12) x 10(-3), and B(Xi(0)(c) -> Sigma K-+(-)) = (1.76 + 0.10 + 0.14 + 0.39) x 10(-3). The first and second uncer-tainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise from the uncertainty of the branching fraction of Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+). These asymmetries include the previously published HERMES results on Collins and Sivers asymmetries, the analysis of which has been extended to include protons and antiprotons and also to an extraction in a three-dimensional kinematic binning and enlarged phase space. [EN] We search for a light Higgs boson (A(0)) decaying into a tau(+)tau(-) or mu(+)mu(-) pair in the radiative decays of Upsilon(1S). The production of Upsilon(1S) mesons is tagged by Upsilon(2S) -> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S) transitions, using 158 x 10(6) Upsilon(2S) events accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant A(0) signals in the mass range from the tau(+)tau(-) or mu(+)mu(-) threshold to 9.2 GeV/c(2) are observed. We set the upper limits at 90% credibility level (C.L.) on the product branching fractions for Upsilon(1S) -> gamma A(0) and A(0) -> tau(+)tau(-) varying from 3.8 x 10(-6) to 1.5 x 10(-4). Our results represent an approximately twofold improvement on the current world best upper limits for the Upsilon(1S) -> gamma A(0) (tau(+)tau(-)) production. For A(0) -> mu(+) mu(-), the upper limits on the product branching fractions for Upsilon(1S) -> gamma A(0) and A(0) -> mu(+)mu(-) are at the same level as the world average limits, and vary from 3.1 x 10(-7) to 1.6 x 10(-5). The upper limits at 90% credibility level on the Yukawa coupling f((SIC)(1S)) and mixing angle sin theta(A0) are also given. [EN] We report the first direct measurement of the inclusive branching fraction B(B-s -> DsX) via B-s tagging in e(+)e(-) -> gamma(5S) events. Tagging is accomplished through a partial reconstruction of semileptonic decays B-s -> D(s)Xl nu, where X denotes unreconstructed additional hadrons or photons and l is an electron or muon. With 121.4 fb(-1) of data collected at the gamma(5S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, we obtain B(B-s -> DsX) = (60.2 +/- 5.8 +/- 2.3)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. [EN] The measurement of two-particle angular correlation functions in high-multiplicity e^{+}e^{-} collisions at sqrt[s]=10.52GeV is reported. In this study, the 89.5fb^{-1} of hadronic e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB are used. Two-particle angular correlation functions are measured in the full relative azimuthal angle (Deltaϕ) and three units of pseudorapidity (Deltaeta), defined by either the electron beam axis or the event-shape thrust axis, and are studied as a function of charged-particle multiplicity. The measurement in the thrust axis analysis, with mostly outgoing quark pairs determining the reference axis, is sensitive to the region of additional soft gluon emissions. No significant anisotropic collective behavior is observed with either coordinate analyses. Near-side jet correlations appear to be absent in the thrust axis analysis. The measurements are compared to predictions from various event generators and are expected to provide new constraints to the phenomenological models in the low-energy regime. [EN] A search for double-heavy tetraquark state candidates Xcc (x) over bar(s) over bar decaying to Ds+Ds+ and D-s*+D-s(*)+ is presented for the first time using the data samples of 102 x 106 Gamma and 158 x 10(6) Gamma(2S) events, and the data samples at root s = 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV corresponding to integrated luminosities of 89.5, 711.0, and 121.4 fb(-1), respectively, accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The invariant-mass spectra of the Ds+Ds+ and Ds*+Ds*+ are studied to search for possible resonances. No significant signals are observed, and the 90% confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions [B(Gamma(1S, 2S) -> X-cc (x) over bar(s) over bar + anything) x B(X-cc (x) over bar(s) over bar Ds+Ds+(Ds*+Ds*+))] Gamma(1S, 2S) inclusive decays and the product values of Born cross section and branching fraction [sigma(e(+)e(-) -> Xcc (x) over bar(s) over bar + anythin) x B(Xcc (x) over bar(s) over bar -> Ds+Ds+(Ds*+Ds*+))] in e(+)e(-) collisions at root s = 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV under different assumptions of Xcc (x) over bar(s) over bar masses and widths are obtained. [EN] We present a measurement of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo favored (B) over bar (0) -> D+pi(-) and the Cabibbo suppressed (B) over bar (0) -> D+K- decays. We find B((B) over bar (0) -> D+pi(-)) = (2.48 +/- 0.01 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.04) x 10(-3) and B((B) over bar (0) -> D+K-) = (2.03 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.03) x 10(-4) decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third uncertainty is due to the D+ -> K-pi(+)pi(+) branching fraction. The ratio of branching fractions of (B) over bar (0) -> D+K- and (B) over bar (0) -> D+pi(-) is measured to be R-D = [8.19 +/- 0.20(stat) +/- 0.23(syst)] x 10(-2). These measurements are performed using the full Belle dataset, which corresponds to 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs and use the Belle II software framework for data analysis. The first measurements of differential branching fractions of inclusive semileptonic BX_{u}ℓ^{+}nu_{ℓ} decays are performed using the full Belle data set of 711fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity at the upsilon(4S) resonance and for ℓ=e, mu. With the availability of these measurements, new avenues for future shape-function model-independent determinations of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{ub}| can be pursued to gain new insights in the existing tension with respect to exclusive determinations. The differential branching fractions are reported as a function of the lepton energy, the four-momentum-transfer squared, light-cone momenta, the hadronic mass, and the hadronic mass squared. They are obtained by subtracting the backgrounds from semileptonic BX_{c}ℓ^{+}nu_{ℓ} decays and other processes, and corrected for resolution and acceptance effects. For the first time we search for the eta(c2) (1D) in e(+) e(-) -> gamma eta(c2)(1D) at root s = 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV with data samples of 89.5 fb(-1), 711 fb(-1), and 121.4 fb(-1), respectively, accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant eta(c20) (1D) signal is observed in the mass range between 3.8 and 3.88 GeV/c(2). The upper limit at 90% confidence level on the product of the Born cross section for e(+)e(-) -> gamma eta(c2) (1D) and branching fraction for eta c2(1D) -> gamma h(c) (1P) is determined to be so e(+)e(-)-> gamma c(2) (1D)gamma B eta(c2()1D)-> gamma h(c) (1P)) < 4.9 fb at root s near 10.6 GeV. We present measurements of partial branching fractions of inclusive semileptonic B -> X(u)l+nu(l) decays using the full Belle dataset of 711 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity at the gamma(4S) resonance and for l = e, mu. Inclusive semileptonic B -> X(u)l(l)(+nu) decays are Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) suppressed and measurements are complicated by the large background from CKM favored B. Xclthorn.l transitions, which have a similar signature. Using machine learning techniques, we reduce this and other backgrounds effectively, while retaining access to a large fraction of the B -> X(c)l+nu(l) phase space and high signal efficiency. We measure partial branching fractions in three phase-space regions covering about 31% to 86% of the accessible B -> X(u)l(l)(+nu) phase space. The most inclusive measurement corresponds to the phase space with lepton energies of E-l(B) > 1 GeV, and we obtain Delta B(B -> X(u)l+nu(l)) = (1.59 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.16) x 10(-3) from a two-dimensional fit of the hadronic mass spectrum and the four-momentum-transfer squared distribution, with the uncertainties denoting the statistical and systematic error. We find vertical bar V-ub vertical bar = (4.10 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.15) x 10(-3) from an average of four calculations for the partial decay rate with the third uncertainty denoting the average theory error. This value is higher but compatible with the determination from exclusive semileptonic decays within 1.3 standard deviations. In addition, we report charmless inclusive partial branching fractions separately for B+ and B-0 mesons as well as for electron and muon final states. No isospin breaking or lepton flavor universality violating effects are observed. We present a measurement of RK , the branching fraction ratio BðB → K μþμ−Þ=BðB → K eþe−Þ, for both charged and neutral B mesons. The ratio for the charged case RK þ is the first measurement ever performed. In addition, we report absolute branching fractions for the individual modes in bins of the squared dilepton invariant mass q2. The analysis is based on a data sample of 711 fb−1, containing 772 × 106 BB¯ events, recorded at the ϒð4SÞ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetricenergy eþe− collider. The obtained results are consistent with standard model expectations. We report branching fraction measurements of four decay modes of the Lambda(+)(c) baryon, each of which includes an eta meson and a Lambda baryon in the final state, and all of which are measured relative to the Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) eta(+) decay mode. The results are based on a 980 fb(-1) data sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider. Two decays, Lambda(+)(c) -> eta Sigma(0)pi(+) and Lambda(1670)pi(+), are observed for the first time, while the measurements of the other decay modes, Lambda(+)(c) -> eta Lambda pi(+) and eta Sigma(1385)(+), are more precise than those made previously. We obtain relative branching fractions of B(Lambda(+)(c) -> eta Lambda pi(+)) / B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = 0.293 +/- 0.003 +/- 0.014, B(Lambda(+)(c) -> eta Sigma(0)pi(+))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = 0.120 +/- 0.006 +/- 0.010, B(Lambda(+)(c) -> Lambda(1670)pi(+)) x B(Lambda(1670) -> eta Lambda)/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = (5.54 +/- 0.29 +/- 0.73) x 10(-2), and B(Lambda(+)(c) -> eta Sigma(1385)(+))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = 0.192 +/- 0.006 +/- 0.016. The mass and width of the Lambda(1670) are also precisely determined to be 1674.3 +/- 0.8 +/- 4.9 MeV/c(2) and 36.1 +/- 2.4 +/- 4.8 MeV, respectively, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using data samples of 89.5 and 711 fb(-1) recorded at energies of root S = 10.52 and 10.58 GeV, respectively, with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider, we report measurements of branching fractions of semileptonic decays Xi(0)(c) -> Xi l(+)nu(l) (l = e or mu) and the CP-asymmetry parameter of Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+) decay. The branching fractions are measured to be B(Xi(0 )(c)-> Xi(-)e(+)nu(e)) = (1.31 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.38)% and B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)mu(+)nu(mu)) = (1.27 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.37)%, and the decay parameter alpha(Xi pi) is measured to be 0.63 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.01 with much improved precision compared with the current world average. The corresponding ratio B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)e(+)nu(e))/B(Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)mu(+)nu(mu)) is 1.03 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.07, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton flavor universality. The first measured asymmetry parameter A(CP) = (alpha(Xi-pi+) + alpha((Xi) over bar+pi-))/(alpha(Xi-pi+) - alpha((Xi) over bar+pi-))( )= 0.024 +/- 0.052 +/- 0.014 is found to be consistent with zero. The first and the second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise due to the uncertainty of the Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+) branching fraction. Y. B. Using the entire data sample of 980 fb(-1) integrated luminosity collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, we present an amplitude analysis measuring the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-allowed, W-exchange resonant decay Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(0) phi (-> K+K-) with a polarized. and the nonresonant decay via a direct process Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(K+K-)-K-0. We present these measurements, relative to the normalization mode Xi(-)pi(+), and find branching ratios Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(0) phi (-> K+K-))(B Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+)) = 0.036 +/- 0.004(sta.) +/- 0.002(syst.) and (B Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)K(+)k(-))/(B Xi(0)(c) -> Xi(-)pi(+)) = 0.039 +/- 0.004(stat.) +/- 0.002(syst.), which suggest that only minor cusping peaks occur in the combinatorial background of Omega(*-) ->Xi K-0(-) due to these Xi(0)(c) decays. We measure the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays D-0 -> pi(+)pi(-)eta, D-0 -> K+K-eta, and D-0 -> phi eta, using 980 fb(-1) of data from the Belle experiment at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We obtain B(D-0 -> pi+pi-eta) = [1.22 +/- 0.02 (stat) +/- 0.02 (syst) +/- 0.03 (B-ref)] x 10(-3), B(D-0 -> K+K-eta) = [1.801(-0.06)(+0.07) (stat) +/- 0.04 (syst) +/- 0.05 (B-ref)] x 10(-4), B(D-0 -> phi eta) = [1.84 +/- 0.09 (stat) +/- 0.06 (syst) +/- 0.05 (B-ref)] x 10(-4), where the third uncertainty (B-ref) is from the uncertainty in the branching fraction of the reference mode D-0 -> K-pi(+)eta. The color-suppressed decay D-0 -> phi eta is observed for the first time, with very high significance. The results for the CP asymmetries are A(CP) (D-0 -> pi(+)pi(-)eta) = [0.9 +/- 1.2 (stat) +/- 0.5 (syst)]%, A(CP)(D-0 -> K+K-eta)=[-1.4 +/- 3.3 (stat) +/- 1.1 (syst)]%, A(CP)(D-0 -> phi eta) = [-1.9 +/- 4.4 (stat) +/- 0.6 (syst)]%. The results for D-0 -> pi(+)pi(-)eta are a significant improvement over previous results. The branching fraction and Acp results for D-0 -> K+K-eta, and the A(CP) result for D-0 -> phi eta, are the first such measurements. No evidence for CP violation is found in any of these decays. We report results from a study of the spin and parity of Xi(c)(2970)(+) using a 980 fb(-1) data sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider. The decay angle distributions in the chain Xi(c)(2970)(+) -> Xi(c) (2645)(0)pi(+) -> Xi c(+) pi(-)pi(+) are analyzed to determine the spin of this charmed-strange baryon. The angular distributions strongly favor the Xi(c) (2970)(+) spin J = 1/2 over 3/2 or 5/2, under an assumption that the lowest partial wave dominates in the decay. We also measure the ratio of Xi(c) (2970)(+) decay branching fractions R= B[Xi(c) (2970)(+) -> Xi(c)(2645)(0)(pi)+]/B[Xi(c)(2970)(+) -> Xi('0)(c)pi(+)] 1..67 +/- 0.29(stat)(-0.09)(+0.15)(syst)+/- 0.25(IS), where the last uncertainty is due to possible isospin-symmetry-breaking effects. This R value favors the spin-parity J(P) = 1/2(+) with the spin of the light-quark degrees of freedom s(l) = 0. This is the first determination of the spin and parity of a charmed-strange baryon. We report the first evidence for X(3872) production in two-photon interactions by tagging either the electron or the positron in the final state, exploring the highly virtual photon region. The search is performed in e^{+}e^{-}→e^{+}e^{-}J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}, using 825 fb^{-1} of data collected by the Belle detector operated at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We observe three X(3872) candidates, where the expected background is 0.11±0.10 events, with a significance of 3.2σ. We obtain an estimated value for Γ[over ˜]_{γγ}B(X(3872)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}) assuming the Q^{2} dependence predicted by a cc[over ¯] meson model, where -Q^{2} is the invariant mass squared of the virtual photon. No X(3915)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-} candidates are found

Using a data sample of 980 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetricenergy e(+)e(-) collider, we present evidence for the Omega(2012)-in the resonant substructure of Omega(0)(c) -> pi(+)( p(+) Omega(0)(c) -> pi(+)( pi(+)( pi(+)(

We report measurements of the branching fractions of singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta and Lambda(+)(c) -> p pi(0) using the full Belle data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 980.6 fb(-1). The data were collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+) e(-) asymmetric energy collidcr. A clear Lambda(+)(c) signal is seen in the invariant mass distribution of p eta. The fitted number of signal events of the Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta process is 7734 +/- 263; from this, we measure the ratio of branching fractions B(Lambda(+ )(c) -> p eta)/ B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p K- pi(+)) = [2.258 +/- 0.077(stat) +/- 0.122(syst)] x 10(-2), from which we infer the branching fraction B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta) = [1.42 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)] x 10(-3). In addition, no significant signal for Lambda(+)(c)-> p pi(0) is found, so an upper limit on the branching fraction of B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p eta(0)) < 8.0 x 10(-5) at a 90% credibility level is set, more than 3 times better than the best current upper limit. We report the first search for the penguin-dominated process B-s(0) -> eta'X(s ()s() over bar) using a semi-inclusive method. A 121.4 fb-1 integrated luminosity gamma(5S) data set collected by the Belle experiment, at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, is used. We observe no statistically significant signal and, including all uncertainties, we set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the partial branching fraction at 1.4 x 10(-3) for M(X-s (s) over bar)

We report measurements of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for D-s(+) -> K+eta, D-s(+) -> K+ pi(0), and D-s(+) -> pi(+)eta decays, and the branching fraction for D-s(+) -> pi+pi(0). Our results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 921 fb(-1) collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider. Our measurements of CP asymmetries in these decays are the most precise to date; no evidence for CP violation is found. We report the first measurement of the exclusive cross sections e(+) e(-) -> B (B) over bar, e(+) e(-) -> B (B) over bar*, and e(+) e(-) -> B* (B) over bar* in the energy range from 10.63 GeV to 11.02 GeV. The B mesons are fully reconstructed in a large number of hadronic final states and the three channels are identified using a beam-constrained-mass variable. The shapes of the exclusive cross sections show oscillatory behavior with several maxima and minima. The results are obtained using data collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider.

Using 980 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+) e(-) collider, we report a study of the electromagnetic decays of excited charmed baryons Xi(c)(2790) and Xi(c)(2815). A clear signal (8.6 standard deviations) is observed for Xi(c)(2815)(0) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma, and we measure: B[Xi(c)(2815)(0) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma]/B[Xi(c)(2815)(0) -> Xi(c)(2645)(+)pi(-) -> Xi(0)(c)pi(+)pi(-)] = - 0.41 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.03. We also present evidence (3.8 standard deviations) for the similar decay of the Xi(c)(2790)(0) and measure:B[Xi(c)(2790)(0) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma]/B[Xi(c)(2790)(0) -> Xi(c)'(+)pi(-) -> Xi(+)(c)gamma pi(-)] = 0.13 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.02. The first quoted uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. We find no hint of the analogous decays of the Xi(c)(2815)(+) and Xi(c)(2790)(+) baryons and set upper limits at the 90% confidence level of: B[Xi(c)(2815)(0) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma]/B[Xi(c)(2815)(0) -> Xi(c)(2645)(0)pi(+) -> Xi(+)(c)pi(-)pi(+)] < 0.09, and B[Xi(c)(2790)(+) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma]/B[Xi(c)(2815)(+) -> Xi(c)'(0)pi(+) -> Xi(0)(c)gamma pi(+)] < 0.06. Approximate values of the partial widths of the decays are extracted, which can be used to discriminate between models of the underlying quark structure of these excited states. The experimental results on the ratios of branching fractions R(D) = B((B) over bar -> D tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar -> Dl(-)(nu) over bar (e)) and R(D*) = B((B) over bar -> D*tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar -> D*tau(-)(nu) over bar (e)), where l denotes an electron or a muon, show a long-standing discrepancy with the standard model predictions, and might hint at a violation of lepton flavor universality. We report a new simultaneous measurement of R(D) and R(D*), based on a data sample containing 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar events recorded at the T(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+) e(-) collider. In this analysis the tag-side B meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the signal-side tau is reconstructed in a purely leptonic decay. The measured values are R(D) = 0.307 +/- 0.037 +/- 0.016 and R(D*) = 0.283 +/- 0.018 +/- 0.014, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are in agreement with the standard model predictions within 0.2, 1.1, and 0.8 standard deviations for R(D), R(D*), and their combination, respectively. This work constitutes the most precise measurements of R(D) and R(D*) performed to date as well as the first result for R(D) based on a semileptonic tagging method.
